  • Martha Williams on Ephesians 2 - 8 years ago
I praise God for his loving kindness that brought salvation to his chosen ones. Truly those who have been born-again are the children of obedience. By the fruit of the Spirit and love for one another we are the salt and lights of the world. Walking not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Praise be to God and glory to his name for how he is perfecting his saints that he may be glorified.

    J. C. You have to be saved. Ephesians 2:8 "For by grace you are saved through faith, not of yourselves; it is the gift of God." Your promises mean nothing to God if he has not called you.
Many are called, few are chosen.
  • WAYNE CLYBURN on Ephesians 2 - 8 years ago

  • Lu2677 on 2 Thessalonians 3 - 8 years ago
Verse 2 is saying wicked men do not have faith. Ephesians 2:8 "By Grace you are saved, through faith; though not of yourself, it is the gift of God." Faith is given the moment a person is saved. It is only through faith that a person is able to believe in Jesus, and believe on him.

  • Shanna on Ephesians 2 - 8 years ago
There is nothing that we do to receive God's grace, mercy and love, we should walk in the ways of holiness through Jesus Christ , he is the only rightousness and our rightousness come through him, be blessed and give the praise, honor, and glory to God our Heavenly Father, Amen.
  • Shirley Robinson-Allen on Ephesians 2 - 8 years ago
This is a great chapter. It tell of God's mercy in that while we were sinners He sent His son to die for us so that we who believe on Him might be saved. As His chosen ones we need to serve Him, love our neighbors and do good to all men. In other words we should treat all God's children as brothers and sisters. To God be the glory great things He has done. He loved us so much He gave us His son.
  • Min. Sally Wheeler on Ephesians 2 - 8 years ago
We are blessed to have a LORD who took upon Himself flesh, who preached the truth, then made that ultimate sacrifice on the cross for us. His blessings kept coming, He offers salvation as a free gift to all men who believe in Him. That's not including His righteousness. When God gives mercy, He certainly gives it.

    Glory to God!
    Alleluia!
Thank You, Almighty God! Thank You!!!
  • Minister Sally Wheeler on 1 Thessalonians 1 - 8 years ago
Bitrus, the LORD Jesus is most definitely the Saviour of the world. He was found spotless, blameless, yet He knew no sin, but bore the sins of the world in His body. His betrayel turned into our blessing and He did it for us. Salvation is only a prayer away. Confess the LORD Jesus and believe in thine heart God raised Him from the dead, Romans 10:8. Also read Ephesians 2:8-9. God bless you!!!

    It's perfect.
  • Stephen on Revelation 20 - 9 years ago
Reuben, read Ephesians 2:8-9. We are saved by grace through faith. We are not saved by our works.
  • D Hall on Ephesians 2:2 - 9 years ago
Compare this and 2 Thessalonians 2:7-12 "the mystery of lawlessness", and Colossians 3:5-7, with 1 John 3:4, which us the definition of sin. Furthermore, the whole letter of 1 John ties God's law together with love. An analogy would be: An Archer who is aiming at the target of righteousness God's ten commandments , contrasted with the one who is aiming at another target unrighteousness . Neither hit the bullseye perfectly 100 of the time, but each practice shooting one or the other target.
  • George EBejer on Revelation 22:14 - 9 years ago
Sir, You said that: Jesus nailed the sacrifical laws to the cross and not the Ten Commandments. Then what is the meaning of Ephesians 2:13-15 - "13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. 14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us 15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace "? We should obey the commandment of Christ today. Most of those commandments are repoeated in the NT. Thank you George Ebejer
  • Jacob on Acts 2 - 9 years ago
Thank the Lord we have Scripture to go by. Romans 4:5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. "Let God be true, but every man a liar as it is written."

  • Ezekiel Johnson on Ephesians 2 - 9 years ago
Paul's statement here in verse 8 " For by grace are ye saved through faith and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:", does not negate, cancel out, or make null and void our need to be baptized in the name of Jesus in order to receive forgiveness of sins, as he shared with the disciples of John the Baptist he met in Acts 19:1-6. In its proper context here, Paul is pointing all glory back to the one who made salvation a possibility for us who were dead in our trespasses and sins. Simply put, Christ didn't have to become the sacrifice and if he did not, there would be nothing that we could ever do to change our eternal destination. However, because he did die and paid the price for our sins, in the book of Acts, when the disciples, on order from Jesus were confronted by people needing salvation they always spell out quite clearly and simplistically what one must do. 1. REPENT 2. BE BAPTIZED IN THE NAME OF JESUS 3. RECEIVE THE IN-FILLING OF GOD'S SPIRIT EVIDENCED BY SPEAKING IN OTHER TONGUES AS HIS SPIRIT PROVIDES THE WORDS. These instruction that were given by Peter with the eleven Apostles in agreement , Phillip, Ananias, Paul, ect. in the the book of Acts.

  • Glory to God on Ephesians 2:6 - 9 years ago
Does anyone have ANY tiny glimmer of an idea of what this is actually saying to the saved? It's astonishing light. Not only are we going to Heaven? what does it say. There is no greater power than that which allowed and CAUSED this to happen. God Himself!! This is no joke or verse to be undermining in darkness. Pure light of life. FACT. None more serious?! He did this! GOD. If you are born again? Rejoice forevermore. 1.LOOK where you ARE seated! 2.Please note WHOM "hath" put you there.--not you and it tells. 4.HATH!--not debatable, over and done, no maybes. 6.Raised together? - Learn what that means for maximum Light. 7.Who is "us"? 8.Do not people see total nth degree past tense all over this verse? Happened. 100 unrebukable fact unless you do not believe? LOOK WHAT GOD HATH done for His saved Sons and Daughters and believe it. THANK HIM. You did none of this because it surely tells whom did. You asked mercy at best? THANK whom "HATH" made this fact. Sword of Truth. Glory to God forevermore. Amen
