It appears to me that the duty to love and to submit must go hand in hand and none should be demanded. I can imagine the difficulty of loving a non-submissive wife similarly the duty to reverence a non-loving husband. Both partners require the grace to fulfill their part of the requirements

For God is love and we must love one another as God loves us. Jesus is so faithful to his promises and we must give thanks to his precious blood that shed for us.
