    To CARLETON

There is no error in the Word of God for the Word is God ( John 1:1).

Seek, and ye shall find ( Matthew 7:7).

    In His Service.

Jesus rose on a Sunday is why we worship Him on a Sunday. Jews and some so-called christens still worship on Saturday which is the Sabbath.
  • SANDRA LAMONT on Exodus 16 - 4 years ago
Why do we worship on a Sunday? Should we keep the Sabbath on a Saturday like the Adventist? Is this what it means when they say we are no longer subjected to the Law but we are now under grace?
  • Carleton - In Reply on Exodus 16:23 - 4 years ago
Sunday is the first day of the week, which is one day after the Sabbath day which could be counted as the eighth day. Using the search, type in the eighth day and read the 21 scriptures referenced. They warm my soul.

Ahah always thought wafers as a modern food, so it's weird reading this in the bible. It's like reading something like "and the LORD giveth his children cheeseburgers and cola, that they may live"
  • Frank - In Reply on Exodus 16 - 4 years ago
Sunday is the first day of the week and not the sabbath. Saturday is the 7th day of the week and is the sabbath. (even today, the Jews still keep it.) on Sunday Jesus rose from the dead and all Christians keep this day which some call the Lords Day. The early Christians met and worshiped on this day.

Sunday is the Sabbath day to our church we have services. And if you trust and believe in God he will make away for you enjoy reading the hole chapter.

28 And the LORD said unto Moses, How long refuse ye to keep my commandments and my laws? Yes, how long? After seeing all these things, how could they not obey God?

In that every man shall eat, this thou shall do on the Sabbath.
  • Stanjett - In Reply on Exodus 16 - 5 years ago
One thing they was allowed to do on the sabbath was to cook and eat.
  • Stanjett - In Reply on Exodus 16 - 5 years ago
No work shall be done except every one may eat, that shall be done.

Six days ye shall gather it: but on the seventh day, WHICH IS the SABBATH, in it there shall be none.

Verse 33: And Moses said unto Aaron,Take a pot, and put an omer full of manna therein, and lay it up before the Lord, to be kept for your generations. The same “manna”, that stinks, if kept over night; now ikept for”generations”.NO:WORMS:ROTTENESS: SMELL:Only GOD!There is no Limit to our GOD! He is so Awesome. Is there anything too hard for Him, NO! HE IS :ALL SEEING:ALL KNOWING, GOD. TRUST HIM.

I think this is Exodus 16 is a good reminder that God will take care of us and to put Faith and trust in him also not to do things are own way ,which I know I'm always working on

Verse 12: Jehovah God can hear any murmuring against his spokesmen and he takes such murmuring personal.

What stands out as extraordinary in the character and behavior of the people? These special and favored people saw all of God's mighty works done right before their eyes; and yet they could not find a way to receive His Spirit, repent and be converted, and become His loving obedient children! Our generation has had the Bible, and all of history testifying to us: but where is the fruit?
  • IMMANUEL MOSES on Exodus 16 - 8 years ago
Albeit God given his heavenly blessings, we often tend to testify him for mundane things, we trailed ourselves, God always blessed us in ample manner, we need to know where we are lacking.

Hi Rachel, I am a seventh day Adventist - Sabbath is on Saturday. Jews kept it and still do ever so methodically. Sunday as the rest of holy day was instituted a few hundred years after Christ's death. Sunday observance is not biblical. It is an invention. Jesus kept Sabbth so did his disciples before and after his death. The only way Roman Catholics or other Christian denominations justify keeping Sunday as Sabbath and some even call it Sabbath is by saying Jesus rose on Sunday - let's celebrate it - but this is a human invention. Roman Catholic Church even proves that Protestant church adhere to Catholicism by keeping Sunday holy. Other Christian denominations say it doesn't matter which day you worship God on - so long as you do. But God did not sanctify Sunday or bless. I chose to marry and love and cherish just one specific woman - not any other. So there are endless theories out there as to why Sunday should be the day - but the truth remains: it is not in the bible - it's false. I was Christian orthodox Eastern Europe and when I heard about Saturday being the last day of the week - the holy day - I was so blown away - and I decided that I did not want to be orthodox Christian anymore. I was in my early teens and I am 32 now - it has been by far the one decision that I like very very much.

Fern Herbert, you are seeing the issue from a biblical perspective. However, I would advise all to also consider what Jesus Christ said Christ said concerning the sabbath Mark. 2:27 "and he-Jesus-said, the sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath ". Some people need to work on the sabbath to feed their families. God bless us all and in the understanding of his Word. Praise Jehovah in the highest through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen!

God admonished the Israelites not to store up manna for the next day. Matthew tells us that we should not worry about what we should eat etc. The father knows our needs and by faith we are to trust him daily for all things.
  • Fern herbert on Exodus 16 - 10 years ago
My take from this, we should prepare our Sabbath meals the day before.so then it is wrong to cook dinner on Sunday? It would also be wrong to eat out,as so many families do after church, because we are causing other people to work to prepare our meals. Am I seeing this right?

JPS doesn 't say "seventh CLay ", it says "seventh day ". This is an OCR error.

Feeling that the Father asks us for 1 10 of our time to be devoted to Him in thanks and praise. 1 10 of our waking hours is practically one full day minus the time it takes to eat and attend to our personal needs. By doing this consistently, we learn how to live the rest of our time in the mindset of nurturing our relationship with Him, and wanting to please Him by our actions on a daily basis.

This verse really shows Jehovah God 's patience with his people. He gave his law and instructions on what should not be done, but the people were hard headed and tried it anyway. We can not think that we know more than God because we will always be proven wrong. This is what happened to the Israelites and the same thing will happen to any who think that they can disregard God 's laws and standards without suffering any consequences.

Interesting they could only gather enough manna for one day unless it was the day before the sabbath they would store up two days Now the interested part was that just before they entered into Canaan they were told to gather enough manna so the future gerneration could see what they ate while in the dessert Well I at least wonder if they may have put some manna in the Ark I don t think that s too far out there after all it was important for God to tell Moses to have the people to store up for future generations Moses said This is the thing which the LORD commandeth Fill an omer of it to be kept for your generations that they may see the bread wherewith I have fed you in the wilderness when I brought you forth from the land of Egypt

Is the sabbath Saturday? Or Sunday? My boyfriend and I are conflicting about this.
  • Teresa on Exodus 16:36 - 11 years ago
I'm thinking that this verse,"Now an omer is the tenth part of an ephan." Can this also be a correlation to our tithes offerings which is a tenth of our giving back to the Lord for blessing us too?
