This whole chapter reminds me of Matthew 6:34 "Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof." God didn't want them to worry about anything for He is in control; but unfortunately, Israel didn't listen to God. Likewise, we also, sometime do the same thing. We murmur, we complain. We have to put our trust in God for He knows what is going to happen tomorrow.
Even our self we are just like Israelites. We easily forget good things which God do to us we remember God only if we are in trouble but immediately after we are out of trouble. We turn to our back to God. Fortunate we have a long hearted God who tolerates us always. Our Lovely, God but we can't stand alone because Satan wants to win us. So let's pray God to help us.
The reading is showing how God is proving himself to the children of Isreal. That he has delivered them out of bondage an blessing them with manna from heaven and all he is asking them is to praise an worship him for what he has done and is getting ready to all they had to do was be obedient an live by the laws which he commamded them to do along with trusting in him for their every need.
Just to let my brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ, quickly ask for forgiveness to our True God , and our brothers and sisters in Christ , and rebuke and stop murmuring among each other, because that is what we do verry often. Kill the murmmur immediately, love u, God bless u
This chapter shows how sinful our nature really is. After such a great deliverance by God, one would think that the Jews would have been thankful to Him the rest of their lives. But unfortunately after such a short period they started to murmur against Moses and God Himself.
So it is with us believers - after experiencing God's work of salvation thru Jesus Christ, we become guilty of spiritual amnesia, complain against the God who saved us and at times live in disobedience to Him Who brought us out of the pit of sin.
This chapter showed that the children of Israel did not know their God's laws, but only his deeds. They were still living in the past and forgot that they were free. No wonder, Moses had to take time to deducted the people of Israel on how to relate with their God. Therefore, I can see that the job of Pastors is not a joke. They are doing awesome job and my prayer for them is that they would not faint at their work. May the lord make all of you stronger and wiser. Amen.
How awesome would it be to live back then? To see the Lord among you, and lead you by day and night...VISIBLY!!! I would never ever have lost any faith if I lived back then, the Lord was in your face, litterally!
Ecclesiastes 12:13," Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: fear God and keep hIS commandments: for this [is] the whole [duty] of man." Exodus 16:28 And the LORD said unto Moses, How long refuse ye to KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS and my laws? Exodus 20:6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS. Leviticus 22:31 Therefore shall ye KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS, and do them: I [am] the LORD. Leviticus 26:3 If ye walk in my statutes, and KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS, and do them; Deuteronomy 5:10 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS. also ( 1 Kings 9:6; 2 Kings 17:13; Nehemiah 1:9; Proverbs 3:1; Proverbs 4:4; Proverbs 7:2; John 14:15; John 15:10) Matthew 7:21," Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
So it is with us believers - after experiencing God's work of salvation thru Jesus Christ, we become guilty of spiritual amnesia, complain against the God who saved us and at times live in disobedience to Him Who brought us out of the pit of sin.
