When I study the Bible it is clear to me the instructions from the word of God. Most Christians are uses the same Bible, we come away with a different understanding. Ex. 20:8-11, is clear concerning the observance of the Sabbath. Keeping the commandments is one of the evidence we love the Lord. John 14:15, If you love me , keep my commandments. 1 John 2:3, is evident that we love the Lord.

Verse 4~The Israelites were not to make any images to help them in their worship to Jehovah God. God is a spirit and does not need any material images or statues for a person to worship Him.

Jesus spoke of the woman and the 10 pieces of silver ( Luke 15:8-10). the Woman is Zion ( Jeremiah 6:2), and the 10 pieces are each of his commandments ( Psalms 12:6). AND the one piece that went missing is his Fourth Commandment. You cannot find the missing piece without the light ( Psalms 18:28).

End of day 22 in the daily Bible reading program. If you are "daily reading" it is ok to miss a day and then "catch up". I have done this several times. I listen to the audio as I read along. It is fascinating to me that since creation "human" self interests are at the heart when lacking in faith and subsequent obedience to God. God is always patient and loving despite our selfish tendencies.

So you are neither free to keep sinner because Jesus was the sin nearer. And you keep sinning throughout your lifetime. And you are neither free from dying because we all keep dying. And we are neither free from keeping the law because Jesus himself keep the Law ,that he came not to abolish but to fulfill from Genesis chapt.2:1, Exodus 20:where God himself wrote the 10 commandment Laws with his own finger, And Revelation 22:14, where keeping Gods Law is your ticket into Heaven. So we HAVE to keep the law of God and not the Mosaic law the kiiing of sheep etc. to appease for our sins, because the good shepherd died she'd blood himself instead of sheep dying anymore.Therfore all we have to do is pray kneeling ,bowing, laying prostrate on the ground ,or just calling on the name of the Ultimate Sheep-that. was sacrificed

To Irene 123: Hi Irene, Good to meet you again. Worshiping God every day of the week is not only OK, it is desirable. But missing your special appointment with God on Saturday Sabbath, My holy day, as He calls it, is not OK. Isa. 58:13. I can tell you for sure; God never changed His Sabbath, from the Creation: But, people did, and that’s not right. Jesus observed His Sabbath: Let's follow Him!

There are only a few cases in the Bible when God writes with His own finger messages , to communicate with man i.e. To us: The Ten Commandments, to Belshazzar, Dan. 5:25, and to the people that brought the woman caught in adultery Jn. 8. In every instance the addressee s was terrified and listened. Today, we dare mock God when He says If you love me keep my commandments Jn. 14:15 What shame!

Ren; you may find interesting and helpful Adultery in Exodus 20:14; Matt. 5:27-28 etc. means Apostasy; and so figuratively, Idolatry. In older translations like the Wycliffe Bible it is translated, "Thou shalt not Commit Lechery." Fornication in the O.T. is "Highly Fed, and therefore Wanton, to Commit Adultery, or Idolatry;" in the N.T. 'Porneia' which is Harlotry, Indulge Lust, Practice Idolatry.

O sing unto the LORD a new song for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory. Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.

This is a divine commandment from God and if more would obey this commandment, they would receive his blessing.

JOHN 1:1,3.----14.) In the beginning was the word. And the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 14th verse and that work came down was made flesh and dwelled among us. The Old Testament scripture is a Schoolmaster to us. We should always be mindful to preach the whole counsel of God. Both the Old and the New Testament is of God. It is all truth. And if we come to know the truth? """Act's 16:31

Quote: The MAJORITY of 'christians' don't want to be thought of as fanatic; that's why they worship on Sunday. unquote. I worship on Sun., Mon., and Tues., but I'm not a MAJORITY Christian. We baptize in the NAME of Jesus Christ - Acts 2:38 - with the EVIDENCE of speaking in tongues - Acts 10:46, 19:6, 8:18 (and when Simon SAW ...) "saw" refers to something TANGIBLE; cont.

We cannot come to God without His guidance and direction and protection; for we would perish instantly in His presence. From the beginning, the word of our redemption and salvation was uttered by God and it is all under His authority that we even be allowed to live. The commandments are for us to learn from Him, to seek His nature as our example, to become like Him; because that's why we are made.

Jesus is our sabbath rest. For a Christian every day is a day of worship. Legalism doesn't help further the gospel. Colossians 2v16.
  • Peter on Exodus 20 - 7 years ago
I think that I have it figured out. We should naturally know how to respect GOD; but unfortunately we do not know maybe and i even think that we do not know how to respect others and even our earthy father or Dads. God tells us he will hold us responsible for taking his name in vane because that surely shows disrespect; and He make sure that there is no mistake about this as He is telling you.

Shabbat, or, Sabbath, is on the SEVENTH day of the week; ( Genesis 2:1-3). Constantine made the first day to be the day when Christians were to assemble; on SUN-day, to honor the god of the sun, which he continued to worship. The vast multitudes of Believers, either don't know, or don't care, or don't want to be thought of as fanatic; and so, Sunday continues to be the day for going to Church.

I will make this short, The bible is for all to read, all the verses are not for us, all the verse are not about us, we are in another dispensation, once we were gentiles now we are Christians, we never did or were told to do the things that the people of Israel do, when Christ died on the cross and roses again, this was for Christians read Eph.2:8, there will be remnet saved from Israel

    Hi J R Botleng

I don't know if it matters. I just try to keep the Sunday that i was brought up in.

On another matter, I try to keep the commandments but there are few things I can not figure out.
Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

Why do people take the chance?

I can not figure that out?

  • Irene123 on Exodus 20 - 8 years ago
To Coral G. Brown - As to the 'words' in Ex. ch. 20 - It says 'kill'. Now you need to go to Num. ch. 35. It tells ALL about accidental and intentional 'killing' and 'murder'.
