Kathy, even though man in his imaginations & depictions in paintings, show cherubim as chubby babies with wings flitting about the place, cherubim (Cherub, singular) in the Bible are certainly not that.

In the Bible, Cherubim are heavenly beings appointed by God as guards in Eden ( Genesis 3:24). They were depicted as carvings at either side of the Mercy Seat on the Ark in the Tabernacle ( Exodus 25:18-21). Their figures were woven into the veil in the Tabernacle ( Exodus 26:1). The Lord is seen symbolically riding on one ( Ezekiel 10:1-22).

Many have their interpretations of the function of Cherubim. I generally understand them as a type of angel (or, heavenly being) that are appointed as guards of God's Throne or His Holiness & symbols of His Mercy to all. This is largely taken from their position on the Mercy Seat. Then we have the other beings called Seraph/Seraphim that serve before God's Throne awaiting His Commands & are involved in purification as in Isaiah 6:1-7. What their actual functions are now, especially in light of the resurrected & ascended Lord Jesus at God's right Hand, isn't revealed.

Hi Gaynell. I'm not sure which book of the Bible you are thinking of, or are there many books? The only way, is to read the chapter for yourself slowly and then write down what point(s) that comes to you strongly.

For example: In the Gospel of John chapter 1, as you read the chapter, you will note Jesus, God's Word, became man; John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus' arrival; and some men who followed Jesus. To simplify that further, you could remember the chapter as: Jesus, His disciples and John the Baptist.

So, you can do the same as you read each chapter: note down what you find are the main point(s) there. As far as memorising all of what you record, that would be difficult unless you have a very strong memory ability. I would suggest find a special verse & memorise it & over time, God's Spirit will help you to add to those verses you commit to memory.

Concerning the abolishment of the Law of God:

The book of Hebrews shows us that the 7th day, the Temple, the Tabernacle, the Ark of the Covenant, etc., are a copy or replication of what God has already established in Heaven.

Hebrews 8:5 "They serve in a place that is a COPY and SHADOW of the heavenly meeting tent. This is indicated when Moses was warned by God when he was about to set up the meeting tent: See that you FOLLOW THE PATTERN that I showed you on the mountain in every detail;" from Exodus 25:40.

The heavenly pattern is what we follow, and God has not left us any information concerning that being changed in any way.

The fulfillment, partial or total that Christ has done in the Law does not make that Law abolished. For instance, the Temple is gone. We have become His Temple. The veil was rent from top to bottom ( Matthew 27:51) to show that we no longer need a priest to reconcile our sins for us. We all have forgiveness based upon repentance.

Fulfillment, in full, or in part, of the Law does not abolish it. What do you do with all other Scripture that does not agree with your assessment?

When Christ rose and spoke in the Synagogue on the Sabbath, He specifically left out the words in Luke 4:18-19 concerning the "Day of vengeance of our God" ( Isaiah 61:1-2) because that day has not come upon us all yet.

Christ came to fulfill the Law, not abolish it. Has the Law been completely fulfilled? No. We are still under the Law, which

Paul states "is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself" ( Galatians 5:14)

The "curse" of the Law is a persons' inability to keep it. That "curse" is what Christ has taken on for us. Not the Law. The Law is just and perfect. It is humans that cannot remain righteous; not even a single day of our lives!

In the most holy place was the Candlestick made of 7 branches each having a KNOB AND A FLOWER indicative of a biological pregnancy. Th month of ABIB which means birthing In hebrew. Most everything blooms in Abib April, Thus the 7 candle sticks is symbolic of Christ th light of the World. A knob and a flower is symbolic of a pregnancy,Its indicative thats the light of the world wd be born in Abib.

It is important to study the Bible so we can learn more about who God is, and what he has done for mankind. Studying and reading God's word is a command, not a preference nor performance, it is also not a ritual that religious does, it is from a heart of the saved to love and cherish God's word and do it by God's grace through the HolySpirit.

This is the purpose that Moses brought Israel out of Egypt to serve God. So here all Israel was to work together to build the tabernacle and for this generation it’s the first time their working together for something they can call their own.

Verse 8: We know that God can not physically dwell in any man-made structure. This sanctuary would represent Jehovah God and the pure worship of him.

"Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring me an offering: of every man that gives it willingly with his heart ye shall take my offering." In another place it is written about if any Levite wishes to come and serve the LORD, he may come, and he shall be accepted and have equal part with all the others. The call of God is to those who are willing to come and we are accepted of Him by that.

"And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring me an offering: of every man that gives it willingly with his heart ye shall take my offering...And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them." Every one of us is precious and uniquely made an expression of the image and glory of our Father in heaven, with beauty and purpose for serving Him!

Did you mean old testament? Jesus is the fulfillment of the O/T. Jesus himself taught much about the O/T. Also the book of Hebrews. When reading the O/T always keep christ in mind.

Almost perfect. Now if we just could figure out what that pattern is. It almost sounds as if the same pattern fits all of the objects. How could that be? Maybe you beat the soft pure gold into a sheet,, then wrap it around into the desired use shape. For example that lamp stand/reflector. Talk about a misunderstood object. This centerpiece is depicted hundreds of ways, none of which come close .

The Churubs were approved by God to be made and they are symbolic. God did not say the Cherubs should be worshipped. Verse 22 says God will commune with Moses above the Mercy seat between the Cherubs. No excuse to worship curved images
  • Gene browne on Exodus 25:24 - 9 years ago
You have a table with golden crown round about and a boarder of a hand- width which also has a crown round about. That's two crowns with a boarder between them. Why?
