Barry I am sorry to hear about that. I do believe the Bible teaches the age of accountability is 20 years old.

Exodus 30:14 Every one that passeth among them that are numbered, from twenty years old and above, shall give an offering unto the LORD.

One was not required to offer a sacrifice for oneself till they were 20 years old. otherwise the Father was offering on behalf of the family. in other words under the headship of the family.

Numbers 1:3 From twenty years old and upward, all that are able to go forth to war in Israel: thou and Aaron shall number them by their armies.

A male was not to be drafted into the army until they were 20 years old. Not considered an adult till then.

Numbers 1:18 And they assembled all the congregation together on the first day of the second month, and they declared their pedigrees after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, by their polls.

A census of the adults was not reckoned until they were 20.

I am of the opinion that she shall grow up in the 1,000 reign of Christ after the tribulation and given a chance to accept or reject the Lord. After all in the kingdom believers do not marry as Jesus said in:

Matthew 22:30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.

Yet there are children in the kingdom.

Isaiah Chapter 11:6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.

7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.

8 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den.

until a Lion can eat straw this has not happened, yet there is a sucking child there, so where do they come from?

    Aborted kids?

There are beautiful things God wants us to create only for His benefit. There is nothing against smelling good but there was a stipulation for the certain perfume to be used only to anoint the priest. Today we all share a priesthood yet many requirements can still be placed on us for our good. Lord help us give YOU what YOU desire.

End of day 25 of Bible in a Year Reading. God wants His people to understand the meaning behind "religious acts". We learn by "doing". There is a thinking process that is involved in each step that brings us closer to the heart of God.

Verse 20: Aaron and the priests were to wash themselves because God requires his servants to be clean and holy.

Thank God for Jesus, our High Priest, who paid our ransom by shedding His blood on the cross for our sins, whereby, we can approach the Throne of Grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.(Heb.4:14-16).

And you shall take the atonement money of the children of Israel, and shall appoint it for the service of the tabernacle of meeting; that it may be a memorial unto the children of Israel before the LORD, to make an atonement for your souls.

If we look at a better understanding of the age of accountability. Some are called to the accountability earlier. When we come sorry for our sins we will be accountable. Sins not Mom catching you stealing cookies from the jar.

Verse 37 not 30 where we can wear sweet smelling perfum
  • Jane on Exodus 30 - 9 years ago
Whoa! God loves beautiful things and sweet smell. See how beautiful he designed Aaron and Son garment in previous chapters. Now he mixed sweet smelling perfum and warns that His particular mixture should not be worn by man. My point is God in verse 30 permits us to wear perfum but some churches preach against it . I love God

Hank Hayden, from Scripture I believe the age of accountability is much sooner. Some places one read that Hebrew boys went through formal rituals at 12-14 years of age to become men. 2 Tim. 3:13 says, "And that from a child thou hast known the Holy Scripture, which are able to make thee wise, unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus ". And 1Cor. 13:11 says, "When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child, but when I became a man I put away childish thing ". Today we consider 18 to 21 years of age adults. Therefore, the age of accountability must be much earlier than that. God bless us all and in the understanding of his Word. Glory be to Jehovah in the highest through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen!

What does this verse have in common with Samuel 24-1. Note that in Exodus 30:12, the punishment for not paying the ransom for the soul was a plague. In David's census, was this ransom required and was it paid? In Davids census, it was his sin, and if so, was the ransom not being paid by the people the justification for the legality of the plague killing 70,000 people instead of just punishing David. (as was the situation of David and Bethsheba and the death of the child)
