For two reasons 1. God wanted to see Moses's obedience on display as His Prophet while 2. God wanted Pharaoh to understand that there is only one God, God All Mighty, Mighty in Battle! After all, failed for Pharaoh he confessed and said at the end of his disobedience that Moses's God "Is God." Our God Got Power-The Holy Ghost Power!
Because it was for His Glory...From the very beginning, God was purposed to harden Pharaoh's heart to do this. To show His power to His people. The problem, and the consequence, lies now to Israel, that even seeing His power, never changed, never repented...
In all due respect I for Our GodI have A question. If God wanted Pharoah to let his people go why did he harden his heart? Wasn't that why Pharoah didn't let them go? .
Verse 26: Jehovah God made a clear distinction between his people and the Egyptians. The Egyptians should have seen that God was clearly bringing punishment upon them and protecting his people.
Jehovah God commanded Pharoah to release his people and Pharaoh was clearly warned of the consequence of not doing so. When Egypt suffered as a result of their disobedience, they had no one but themselves to blame.
All the sinners of my people shall die by the sword, which say, The evil shall not overtake nor prevent us. He that led into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killed with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.
If you...If only...If Egypt would have found a place of humility their entire nation would have found a place of comfort and peace with God. I wish anyone else who reads including myself a place to soften our hearts so that we may be a yield vessel. Pharaoh lost it all and created great hardship for his own country. May we all find a place of repentance and humility.
V.12 - yes, God DID harden Pharaoh's heart. Yes, Pharaoh's heart was hard from the beginning; God hardened it further. The Bible, God's word, not mine, says so.
I see an absolute similarity between Pharaoh and his wicked people, and the so-called Liberal Globalists and Islamist Cult of today. They worship and serve the same devil; and they yet exalt themselves against the true people of God! We read in Revelation, as in all the Prophets, that even with all the plagues and punishments that God sends upon the world of the ungodly; yet do they not repent!
No ! He was already a hard man .Any willful defiant person will get harder every time he says NO to God. And judgement will increase God has to judge sin!
Brenda, verse 6 does not say all the "beast" of Egypt died. It says all the cattle of Egypt died. Verse 25 says,"and the hail smote through out all the land of Egypt all that was in the field, both man and beast,... Beast means horses, pigs, donkeys, sheep, goats, dogs, etc.
So in verse 6 all the beasts in the fields of the Egyptians were slain, and then somehow when the hail came in verse 25, the beasts of the fields were back again. Did some years pass between the different plagues?
Hello Pat Murphy, it sound like you are judging Almighty God. The God of Ex. 9:16 is the same God of Mark 15:25 which says, "And it was the third hour, and they crucified him. And the same in John 3:16 " For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Isa. 55:8, 9 also Isa. 29:16 proving God is the same God in all Scripture. God bless us all and also in the understanding of his Word. Praise Jehovah in the highest through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen!
In Exodus 9:6 All the livestock of Egypt died of a deadly plague. Where did the livestock in Exodus 9:19-20 come from if just the day before, in 9:6, all of the livestock died of the plague? How could they save nonexistent livestock from being destroyed by hail when all of the livestock in Egypt had been killed by the plague the day before? There has to be a reasonable answer. I just have not found it.
Shedrack, it was ultimately to prove to the Egyptians that there IS A GOD and that HE IS GOD and that God is in control and also to save the Egyptians...to prove to them that He does exist... SO the Egyptians would Love God and respect and worship HIM instead of idols of rams and fish gods... they worshiped everything except the true God. God was proving He existed and His power.
Pat Murphy. God is protecting his own. He is showing everyone that HE is in control. Not man like men still think to this very day. Man isn 't in control. Man is nothing without God. Man can succeed at nothing without God. Man has nothing without God. It gives me peace of mind to know that God is the one in control and not man. Gods wisdom and power and knowledge trumps all mans. HIS is infinite.
God hardened Pharoah 's heart everytime he performed a sign or a wonder. Or, one can say, Pharoah harden his own heart everytime God performed a sign or a wonder. He refused to let the people go even after seeing all the miracles.
This scripture shows the importance of resisting peer pressure. We each have a personal accounting with Jehovah God and we should not allow the bad actions of others to keep us from doing what is required of us or we will have to suffer the same consequences that they face.
The earth is the LORD's and the fullness there of. This shows all of us just how powerful GOD is, He says what He says and He means just what He says, we are living in a time that we really need to study GOD'S word and obey it because He does not play. We asHis children need to stay in His will in order for Him to protect us.
God is good but people do not pray enough. He knows what we are. Just going to church is not enough. When it rains, you still should pray God. Stop looking at all the bad things and just keep praising. Stop using Sunday for a day off. This is God’s day. Pray with others, stop following the wrong crowd. Stop talking about each other. Pray and protect our children. Let God know we love him much and we appreciate he loves us.
ONE by one did GOD dismantle EGYPT`S belief systems! COMFORT zones were certainly in disarray! HOW can you fight against "THE TRUE GOD"? All one can do is give in to HIS plan of SALVATION.
