I just feel led to add. If you feel uneasy, pray, listen to the HOLY Spirit let GOD ALMIGHTY lead you. Trust GOD's WORD will not return void. Maybe show her the scripture John 16:26-27,28, John 16:23-24, if you find she is ready Matthew 23:9.

    Hopefully these help.

    Thank You Adam and Gigi.

    Dgjot,

You tried with your neighbor. She is responsible. If she was raised Catholic she knows of Jesus and His work on the cross for us. She knows that she needs salvation from sin. Even tough she is not "practicing" does not mean she does not have a Christian belief in Jesus. That may be why she said, "I am Catholic". My suggestion is to try to have pleasant conversation with her and tell of what God is doing in your life: answered prayer, guidance from Scripture, overcoming a particular sinful habit, gratitude to God for providing your daily bread. These things can sow her the desirability to seek a closer relationship with God and open doors for other discussions. Whenever I am talking with Catholics and a topic comes up on religion, I try to steer the conversation to the gospel message as having been effective in my life and that I would never go back to not believing in Jesus, but instead, I want to know Him more and learn from His Spirit through the Scriptures. A Catholic really cannot argue with that, and hearing it plants seeds in their heart to begin to yearn for Jesus more than they presently do and step out of their complacency.

    Hi Dgjot,

Even though it seems hard to believe, according to stats only 50% of the world uses the internet and only 65% have access to it. I live in the US and people assume everyone is connected here, but that's not the case even here. Many rural areas where you can't even get a cell signal either. Many who didn't grow up with it aren't interested in using it. There's even groups in the US that intentionally live without power and without TV. And this is much more so in other countries. Consider North Sentinel Island, where there are people living there who have zero contact with the outside world.

If you've heard of Ray Comfort he does lots of street evangelism in urban areas like Los Angeles and even there, a % of the people don't know who Jesus is. Sounds hard to believe, but you may have to see it for yourself.

So, with these considerations, I do not believe everyone knows who Jesus is. I would say even of those who have heard something about Him, I would estimate that most may have distorted or inaccurate info.

I have heard missionaries say that it is far easier to tell people about Jesus in other regions, like in Africa, in comparison to developed nations that have misinformation already planted. But that doesn't mean we should give up. I personally think showing you care is step one, and if they are interested in you a door might open where they are willing to hear your views. Also, people in need seem to be more open as well, such as homeless. They need God where as others who are more established often assume they don't. There is a lot of information online with memes and it seems like memes, video clips, music, books, and arts seem to be the most influential in my opinion. So, I think spreading the gospel is still a valid pursuit and may take different forms depending on the audience.

8 When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

9 Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I think these two verses have caused a lot of distress to believers. And what does "delivered thy soul" mean?

New "Christians" who aren't even grounded in the word or instructed on how to act, go out try to witness without even knowing enough to back up what they are talking about. This is the fault of the Church, who just sends them out half- cocked. You can tell someone about Jesus and salvation but you can't coerce, persuade, scold, bully, mock or beat someone into believing.

In this day and age, no one is looking for Jesus except those that already know Him. The Gospel is available in book form. (a.k.a. The Bible, and it's many watered down versions. I started out with a Living Bible and graduated to the KJV.) You can buy a KJV at Dollar Tree for a dollar. Then there's the T.V. and internet.

Jesus sent His disciples out to spread the Gospel, but He also gave them power to perform miracles to back up what they were saying. Today's believers don't have that kind of power. But, we do have an abundance of false preachers and snake oil salesmen, who do a good job deceiving people.

Trying to witness to today's unsaved reprobates is a complete waste of time. I'm not unwilling to witness. I'm afraid to, so I leave tracts lying around. (When I remember to stuff some in my pockets and take them out.)

For years I have heard that if believers of Christ (the saved, the redeemed, the elect) don't tell the lost about Jesus and salvation through him, that we/they will be punished.

For hundreds/thousands of years missionaries and preachers have spread the gospel by mouth and on foot. Then came the printed word. Then came telegraphs, telephones, radio, television, dvd's and the internet. This is 2021. I don't think there's anyone in the entire world that hasn't heard of Jesus in some way, shape or form.

I'm worried about my neighbor. She's old and a (non-practicing)Catholic. I tried telling her about Jesus and she replied, "I'm Catholic". She's a very stubborn woman who, once she gets an idea in her head, she can't be persuaded otherwise.

We can warn people but we can't make them believe. Why do I feel so uneasy?

    Jeremiah 17:9

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

    Ezekiel 33:8

When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

That other verse: the Tree is known by its fruit.

It means that Jesus is that tree, and we are grafted into His Life. How we conduct ourselves in all ways; looks like Jesus, sounds like Him, prays to Our Father; in Jesus's Name.

By reading all of the Bible, we come to understand what the Godhead (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) is like. ROMANS 1. They made this world that we should respect and love, every day.

Scriptures light us up on the inside. That light flows outward on a hurting world that needs Him.

Peter walked by a blind beggar on the street and his heart was overcome by his need. He said, silver and gold I do not have; but what I have, I give to you. The man was healed.

I was healed the day I met Jesus. I had been a very sinful person. I didn't deserve to be saved. But he pulled me out of the mouth of the hell I lived in. That was 36 yrs ago. Every day with Jesus is JOY. I am loved completely. No one has ever loved me so.

Your walk with God can be shallow or deep. I took a leap off my painful reality right into His arms. No matter what happens He has never let go of me.

Open your heart and live on full display. His life Light, will shine through you. Take that leap.

    Adam,

Thank you for having eyes to see, an honest heart to discern with, and the ability to call out what is written.

This is the report of a watchman.

( Ezekiel 33:7) So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.

Talk about the OT prophets to see where we stand. The prophets spent much time describing the sixth trumpet, "day of the Lord", one hour battle, than any other trumpet. Our future is of catastrophic destruction. Our leaders have aligned their working with scripture to bring about our demise. How is it no one recognizes America for who she is, from what she's done, or its judgment?

    Praise Jesus!

All glory and honor to His mighty saving name! O/!

    Thanks for the encouragement.

Yea we must proclaim the truth in love.

    Ezekiel 33:6 KJV

But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand.

Jesus is returning to catch up a virgin chaste spotless bride of believers who are baptized in His name & filled with His Spirit. I pray that I will persevere to the end and can warn & lead as many others as the Lord wills into the fold.

    For He is also returning:

"In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that (a.) know not God, and that (b.) obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:"

    2 Thessalonians 1:8

If someone believes Jesus Christ the Son of God is a "pre-incarnate" "co-equal" deity of a "triune" triple God, then they (a.) don't know God ( Matthew 7:21-22).

And if they haven't been baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins ( Acts 2:38), then they (b.) haven't obeyed His gospel.

    Be encouraged Sacha.

    Be well, in Jesus' name.

Isaiah 29:13 Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:

Ezekiel 33:31 And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness.

James 1:21-25 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted Word, which is able to save your souls.

But be ye doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

For if any be a hearer of the Word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:

For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.

But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

1 John 3:18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

As Mishael stated in a comment "faith without works is dead"( James 2:20). Learning about our Lord Jesus Christ and zealously studying/reading the Word is most definitely good fruit unto the Lord. As in many ways we can all produce good fruit of the Spirit unto our Father in Heaven.

    God Bless.

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

    Ezekiel 33:11-20

( Matthew 5:20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 12:35-36 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

    Matthew 13:37-43

    ( John 5:26-29

    ( Romans 2:2-11

    ( Romans 6:1-2

    ( Romans 6:15-23

    ( James 2:14-20

    ( 1 Peter 4:16-19

( 2 Peter 2:20-22 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

    Hello Paula,

Please don't be angry with me. Your statement of "If you do not warn the wicked you will not be save nor the wicked doer". What do you mean by this? That if we do not evangelize or "warn" then we will not be saved?? We are saved by the Grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ. His free gift to us. After which we are bought with a price and are His forever. He will guide our paths. Not by how much we can do to "warn" people, of what I also don't know what you mean, of something. Acknowledging your faith to our Father and Jesus Christ to others is always good. Along with using the Word, Holy Scriptures, or Gospels to lead people to the truth. Of coarse if they will even hear you is the question.

Please don't anyone take this the wrong way that I have anything against evangelizing. They are my brothers doing what our Father has them doing.

Just you stating that "if you do not warn the wicked you will not be saved" is not correct. In my eyes anyway. Jesus Christ states just prophesying, or casting out demons, or many wonderful works may not deem you saved.

Matthew 7:22-23: Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

    God Bless.

Romans 10:10 "For with the heart man believes unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Ezekiel 33:31 "And they come unto thee as the people comes, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goes after their covetousness." In the Sermon on the Mount Jesus began to teach us what it means to have the kingdom of heaven within us what was true religion and piety, and what was false. MAny times and many ways He protests to us, "Thou shalt NOT be as the hypocrites!" Yet the doctrine of the Pharisees persists and multitudes believe that merely "Mouthing" the words is all it needs to get their names in the Divine Registry! You can't put words in someone's mouth that isn't in their heart and without the truth in the heart, the words will not mean a thing to God. They have to know the Truth in order to acknowledge the Truth unto a saving faith in Christ. "You cannot give what you haven't got!"
