Discuss Ezekiel 43

    Ronald.

    Part 2.

This section I will go back to Daniel 2, Daniel 7 and Daniel 9.

In these chapters notice the consistency in the players involved. "The beast, little horn, Prince of the people that shall come being one of them. We will trace this character back to revelation.

Daniel 2:32-45 Daniel interprets King Nebuchadnezzars dream, this is the history of the reign of the Gentiles nations from man's viewpoint with the metal images mixed with clay. ( BABYLON, MADO-PERSIA, GREECE, ROME.)

In Daniel 7 we see the same material presented differently.

You see the same material as a series of beast. This is a vision from Gods viewpoint.

Revelation 13:1-4 connects the beast in Daniel 7 to the Antichrist.

In Daniel 2;35-44 we see Christ destroy 4th and final kingdom and its ruler and set up his own everlasting kingdom.

( Daniel 2:44.) And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.

    ( Also see Daniel 7:14.)

This haven't happened yet, and it didn't happen at the cross.

There's still not a kingdom or a King in Israel as described throughout the OT. And there is NO peace!

When studying these chapters, we see the little horn/beast rises out of these 10 horns/kingdoms.

Daniel 7:8-13 describes the end of this last and present empire.

Revelation 19:19 amplifies. that. Hasn't happened yet.

    CONCERNING THE SACRIFICES.

There will be sacrifices in the kingdom. Isaiah 56:6-8. Zechariah 14:16. Jeremiah 33:15-18. Ezekiel 43:18. Ezekiel 46:24. Ezekiel 40:1-49.

    Sacrifices never took away sins.

The sacrifices in the OT pointed forward to one who would come and take away sins and the sacrifices in the Kingdom will point backwards to the one who came and took away sins.

The Antichrist will present himself as Christ and the start of the expected Kingdom.

    God bless.

Larry B but God did send his son who was prophesied to come as the sacrificial Lamb of God before time began. 1 Peter 1:20. And he did that for his name sake not their righteousness. God never gave them the land for their righteousness, he gave them the land because he promised Abraham. Read Deuteronomy 9.

    SPEAKING ON SALVATION.

God is promises to Abraham wasn't by way of man's righteousness, We and Israel is heirs to the promise by faith. Read Galatians 3 and Galatians 4.

n Ezekiel 40:1-2. You see Ezekiel speaks of a vision, This vision is of the temple in the Millennium kingdom. He speaks on this vision of the coming kingdom on through the rest of the book.

    Ezekiel 40:1-2.

"In the five and twentieth year of our captivity, in the beginning of the year, in the tenth day of the month, in the fourteenth year after that the city was smitten, in the selfsame day the hand of the LORD WAS UPON ME, AND BROUGHT ME THITHER.

IN THE VISIONS of God brought he me into the land of Israel, and set me upon a very high mountain, by which was as the frame of a city on the south."

Here in Ezekiel 43:1-2. he gives mention of the east gate and the Lord. No people from the east as you mentioned.

"Afterward he brought me to the gate, even the gate that looketh toward the east:

And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east: and his voice was like a noise of many waters: and the earth shined with his glory."

Also read Romans 9,10, and 11.

    God bless.

For I was ashamed to require of the king a band of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy in the way: because we had spoken unto the king, saying, The hand of our God is upon all them for good that seek him; but his power and his wrath is against all them that forsake him.

    Ezekiel 32:30

There be the princes of the north, all of them, and all the Zidonians, which are gone down with the slain; with their terror they are ashamed of their might; and they lie uncircumcised with them that be slain by the sword, and bear their shame with them that go down to the pit.

I can see how Islam has grown & spread since its inception, but can you honestly use Ezekiel 43:1-6 relating it to Muslims building the temple? I've read the passage many times, indeed the whole Book of Ezekiel, but I note that it's the "glory of the God of Israel" that will one day enter in "from the way of the east". From chapters 40 to the end, we read the prophecies concerning Israel during the Millenial Kingdom (the new Temple, God's Glory returned, new Service of Worship, & a new Holy Land). It will be a time when Israel & all those saved through Christ's Blood will be in that Holy City - all others, including Muslims who reject Jesus Christ, debarred.

Now how this Temple & its similarities to the old (under the Covenant of Law) fit together is still unknown: whether only symbolic by its presence or operational under the New Covenant, with changes, is unclear. But the prophecy is given & since that time, no temple of such magnitude has been built. It gave meaning & hope to the exiles that they would be released & one day Israel would be re-established in their God-given land. As well, I couldn't comprehend what John 4:23,24 has to do with the above, seeing that Jesus was speaking about His Presence amongst them & the coming Holy Spirit.

    Exodus 20:26 covering our nakedness

thou shalt not go up by steps to mine altar, but by bridges;''

express mention is made of stairs to the altar in Ezekiel's vision, ( Ezekiel 43:17 )

    that thy nakedness be not discovered thereon;

that part of the body which is not to be named, and ought not to be seen, and which would be exposed if there were many steps, and these at a distance from each other; which would oblige them to take large strides, and so be in danger of discovering those parts which would make them the object of contempt and ridicule with the people; since as yet underwear were not used, and the garments were long loose ones, which were easily turned aside, or the parts under them, seen by those below; to prevent which, afterwards linen breeches were ordered to be made for the priests, and to be used by them in their service: Maimonides F3 thinks the reason of this was, because formerly the idolatrous worship of Peor was performed by uncovering of their nakedness before it; and so by this is expressed God's detestation of such an impure and abominable practice; but this is uncertain; however, this we may be sure of, that this is the will of God, that all immodesty and indecency, and whatever tends to create impure thoughts and stir up unclean lusts, should be carefully avoided in his worship.

This makes that scripture relevant to today's fashions that are revealing of men's and women's private parts. (even children's clothes)

We have eye gates, ear gates, mouth gates. Satan uses those to get his propaganda inside us.

Hi James, the 'four horns' are actually horns that had to be placed at the corners of the altar and is not a unit of measurement. If you would like to see a 'depiction' of the altar of the burnt offering, just google those words & some pictures should come up. One cannot say whether the original altar resembled the ones portrayed, but it should give you an idea of the size & of course, the horns. And verse 20 tells us that the blood of the animals had to be sprinkled on specific parts of the altar, including on the horns.
  • James G Irby on Ezekiel 43:15 - 3 years ago
Since the verses before and after verse 15 (vss 13-17) of Ezekiel 43 (KJV Bible) are talking about measurements of the altar what is "four horns." talking about? I can't find a Biblical measure called a "horn".

Insight; "The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us; and we beheld His glory; the glory of the only begotten of the Father." Jesus is the Mediator between God and men; God manifest in the flesh, having become a man, in order to suffer death for all men! "Son of God" names His Divine Origin; Son of man means flesh and blood. The Promised Redeemer had to be a man AND God! One doesn't void the other

Hi Araxi. I'm not sure that the idea of a rebuilt temple can easily be justified. Those who do usually place Daniel's 70th week, usually thought of as Christ's passion week, in some future setting. Thus to make their interpretation of Daniel's prophecy sound tangible a rebuilt temple needs to be standing and functioning. There are many authors who write for and against this idea. Hope this helps!

Is the end of this chapter referring to the sacrifices which will be done in the THIRD Temple, when it is built? Can somebody clarify this?

We are to search God and learn from His Word to be ashamed of sin we commit, then repent. During the period of the Law in which Ezekiel lived we see specifics about the construction of the altar to make it holy. We also see that God revealed Himself at the temple through the Priest. In these days of Grace our bodies are the temple, we are the priests and God reveals himself through our daily reading of the Word. Furthermore, the sacrifice of blood under the law was of animals with specific instructions for holiness. Under Grace the price of blood was paid by Jesus, our holy sacrifice. So, worship of Holy God remains, repentance remains and the manner of sacrifice is changed.
