Beware of doctrines demons.

There are some that supposedly have a deeper understanding of the word of God that has crept in the church.

Strategically they converse with you, " Not to convert you but to use the platform you provide them to confuse the simple.

They stand in the way of salvation for those who seek Christ through his word.

ENCOURAGEMENT.

However God is aware of Satan's tares in the congregation, And he that the Lord calls WILL come to him!!

Jude 1:4. For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

Galatians 1:8-9. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

2 John 1:10-11. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:

For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

Brother Daniel has correctly shared with you what was going on amongst the Churches in Galatia (in North & South Galatia): that Judaizers had infiltrated the Churches ( Galatians 1:6-9). And these Judaizers, as he has explained, were corrupting the true Gospel of Jesus by demanding observance of the old Laws & its practises.

Then from Galatians 1:11 to 2:21, Paul writes on aspects of his authority to share what he did over & above what these false teachers were claiming: Paul's authority given by Revelation, by the Jerusalem Church's approval, & by his rebuking of Peter.

And from chapter 3, I think is where your confusion arises. From here on, Paul teaches what the Galatians should be embracing, i.e. Justification by Faith alone & nothing else. In the Church, there would have been both converted Jews & Gentiles worshipping together. Since both were being taught by these Judaizers about adherence to the Law as well as Faith, to the Jewish convert these words in chapters 3 & 4, would have much meaning & they would be in need of more correcting.

So how does this apply to you & me? Paul is not stating that the Gentiles (including you & me) were ever under the Law, as the new Jewish believers once were, but was emphasizing that since those who were under the Law (i.e. these new Jewish believers) and those Gentiles who were being taught to also embrace the Law, are affected by the false teachers, all should be warned that they don't syncretize the two (i.e. uniting or mixing together Law & free Grace through Faith) - they cannot be mixed together - they're like oil & water. So, Curious-L, you & I were never under the Law, but we're to be careful not to adhere to the Law as well to gain salvation, to which Faith speaks against. The Law was given only to show the Jew their sin & incapability to keep it perfectly & be righteous before God - it was given to ultimately "bring them to Christ, that we (all - Jew & Gentile) might be justified by Faith."

Hello Charles, It is true that the Christians in the early church lived differently than we do today in some respects, but there were some respects that we are today similar. We do know that in the early church, the believers gathered together for worship (we do that now).They prayed for each other (we do that now).They gave funds to help those in need (we do that now).They taught one another the doctrines of the faith (some churches do that now as a matter of course).They held everything in common (we do not do this today).They desired unity and oneness of belief (we desire that today).They were unable to keep the unity of faith and fellowship, as there were many false teachings creeping into the churches and many schisms within fellowships (we have this today).They had apostles establishing the churches, re-visiting them, and writing letters to them (we do not have that today).They were persecuted and martyred (there is some of this happening today in parts of the world).They had pastors, elders, and deacons (we have that today).The OT Scriptures and letters from the apostles were read during worship times (we do this today). The Holy Spirit manifested in believers in various ways (we have that today).

There is a lot that we do not know of what the early church did or was like. And the church was in constant change as the decades passed and centuries rolled by. Jesus said that He would build His church, and He has over the last 2000 years. Jesus always fulfills His word and what He purposes to do. As believers, we should believe that our Lord is still building His church today and has been over the centuries. To not believe this is to deny that Jesus keeps His word.

But we know He is faithful and His words are true. We know that as God the Son, He has the power to preserve the church against the gates of hell. Yeah!

We in our time do not need to be just like the church in the 1st century anymore than the 1st century church needed to function like the Israelites.

Let me also add this, Paul said we were delivered form this present-day world, back then they didn't live like Christians do today they obeyed the church, and they were a BODY all of one mind (thought) and had all things in common (shared everything with each other equally) there were no have and have nots so this may have been what other were teaching. You have to remember it was Illegal to be a Christian then It'd be like us preaching and setting up churches in North Korea today. Here we are free and yet mostly silent..................

I don't believe it was the Galatians Christians, but Paul wrote that they who went out from among us are not of us and at that time false teachers had already begun teaching circumcision and stick obedience to the law among other things so it was false teachings why Paul wrote to them, and you see Paul say here: 6I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:

7Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.

8But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

Paul reiterates the gospel to them: 4Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:

Most don't recognize as Paul was traveling on his mission and preaching and establishing new churches satan was right on his heels sowing discord and lies, I believe this was the thorn in the flesh Paul prayed about 3 times and God answered him. my grace is sufficient, that's just my opinion tho.

Paul wrote the letter to the Galatians to counter the message of missionaries who visited Galatia after he left. These missionaries taught that Gentiles must follow parts of the Jewish Law in order to be saved [NOT THE BIBLE]. In particular, these missionaries taught that Christian men had to accept the Jewish rite of circumcision.

The Epistle of Paul the Apostle to the Galatians was written to Jewish Christians who were straying from the Lord by relying once again on the works of the law of Moses.

The central theme of Galatians is 'Freedom in Christ' which is understood as the birthright of every believer. Through faith in Christ, he has been delivered from the bondage and condemnation of the law and from the power of sin.

Galatia (/le/; Ancient Greek: was an ancient area in the highlands of central Anatolia, roughly corresponding to the provinces of Ankara and Eskiehir, in modern Turkey.

Hello Charles. Apostle Paul gave the reason for this letter in Galatians 1:6-10. The three main points are: 1. that another Gospel was being entertained by the Church; 2. that Paul's apostolic authority, as given him by the Lord, was being questioned; & 3. a re-hash of the Gospel of Christ, of Christian liberty & other matters given.

1. The Judaizers (Jewish Christians that refused to accept the non-relevance of the Law to Israel as Truth), had entered into this Church (or, other such gatherings in Asia Minor), & began proclaiming, even pontificating their beliefs with flowery speech & convincing arguments. Galatians 1:6-10; 3:1; 4:17. Paul refutes this 'new' teaching of 'faith plus works' ( Galatians 3:2-5).

2. Paul's apostleship defence. His authority acquired through revelation ( Galatians 1:11-24); it was approved by the Jerusalem Church ( Galatians 2:1-10); it was acknowledged in his rebuke to Peter ( Galatians 2:11-21).

3. A re-hash of the Truth - an expansion of what they earlier heard from Paul. Was the Spirit received through faith or through the Law? (3:1-5). Of Abraham's faith (3:6-9). Justification only by Faith - the Law given, only to draw men to Christ (3:10 - 4:11). Paul's own testimony (4:12-20). Testimony from an OT allegory (4:21-31).

This faith (apart from the Law), gives meaning to: full Liberty (5:1-12); genuine Love (5:13-15); enjoying the Fruit of the Spirit in spiritual walk (5:16-26). And then matters pertaining to sin in the Church (6:1-5) & giving for the Lord's Work (6:6-10).

Paul ends with his closing words (6:11-18): a final warning to beware of any who demand circumcision or keeping the Law (which those teachers even fail to keep). They might do it with false motives, even to avoid persecution from the Jews (6:12) or to boast in being their teachers (6:13), but none of them carry the marks of persecution which Paul has, showing his stand for the Truth & love for the believers.

I myself have had many beautiful discussions with Mormons & Jehovah Witnesses. I'm sorry if I mix up the teachings. 1st I want to say many of both, are very kind, I liked just about everyone I encountered. With few exceptions. However, many scriptural discussions seemed to point to teaching that was not in-line with JKV HOLY Bible.

1st important 1= Galatians 1:3-10, 2 Corinthians 11:3-4, teach don't believe another gospel even if an Angel brings, Mormons have a "new" teaching brought from "An Angel".

2nd Book of Mormon, addition to Bible? Psalms 89:34, Rev. 22:18, Deuteronomy 12:32,

3rd Mormons teach that Women can't be prophets untrue : Judges 4:4, Luke 2:36, Joel 2:28.

4th & maybe most important Mormons don't believe CHRIST Jesus is who HE says HE is. : Isaiah 53, Psalms 22, John 19, John 1,

Gigi I don't understand the question since in the Gospel of Mathew the Greatest Law is answered,

Thou Shalt Love the lord thy God with all thy Heart with all thy soul and with all thy mind, and the second

is to love thy neighbor as thyself. These were being done already by Abraham before the Law Isaac before the

law and Noah before the law and in Gods eyes they were righteous before the written law. The law of Moses

was given to the adopted children of Israel so they would not do what the unbelieving or pagan nations were

doing that they were surrounded by. God new what they were doing and was trying to keep his adopted children

out of the soup. I never said Not To Do the Ten Commandments. When were born again of Gods Spirit and

in obedience to Gods word we are to walk in a Higher spiritual plain the law of agapeo Gods love Which Jesus Christ

displayed above and beyond the ten commandments. Don't forget there were over 400 laws given, thats why Jesus

Christ spiritually summed them up in Mathew. If a christian endeavors to walk by the spirit which no one does 24/7

he's walking the law of Love. Jesus Christ fulfilled the law and the Day of pentecost started an entire different time

period in the way God deals with man in the Age of Grace. The Apostle Paul writes about it all over the place and

these instructions were given to Him by Jesus Christ directly so how can what he was Given Be Wrong. This is not

an argument by any stretch its understanding the difference between the law period and the Age of Grace which

many don't understand I being one for awhile. I'm not going to deny what I know the scriptures are saying.

The Apostle Paul in Galatians 1:11-12 he's telling the Galatians that he got born again but they were tricked into not believing anymore that what he taught them was Directly From Jesus Christ that settles it I didn't write the book

Brother Jesse. I have heard of this too: that Paul was a married man before his conversion & call. Not from historical records, but appealing to the nature of the position of the Pharisee. Paul spoke of himself as once being "a Hebrew of the Hebrews" ( Philippians 3:5) & 'extremely zealous of his ancestral traditions' ( Galatians 1:14; Acts 22:3). Marriage was the norm for Pharisees & it was also required to hold a rabbinical position. The thought is: "Paul could hardly have set himself forth as an exemplar of Pharisaical piety had he not been married."

So, indeed, Paul did "count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ" ( Philippians 3:8). Obviously, he was referring to the wealth of knowledge & interpretation of the Scriptures that had to be cast aside so that Christ might be fully apprehended, but I wonder whether he included, in his 'new' single state, that this had to be his lot for the furtherance of this newly acquired powerful Gospel that he had received & which filled him?

God don't compromise his Holiness to exercise judgment and I don't think he asks us to when dividing the word.

We have to wonder If we're not going to win them over and they know they're not going to win us over, Why are they so adamant on keeping this dialog going? Perhaps they're after the audience. And this is where I believe 2 John 1:10-11 applies.

And if we've been battling this for I know over a year!! Perhaps this verse apply.

My question was when do it apply and if we're so fundamental about everything else why not this?

In the secular we call the democrats "liberals" But aren't we also as a whole.

And this especially goes for those who say salvation is by works and not by grace when Paul makes that clear all through Galatians starting here-

Paul says let them be a curse

But we call them Brother.

He also emphasize it in

Philippians 3:2-11. And this is the only "religion" given to Man and it slew us.

Now this is a peaceful dialog that you and I are having but some would say it's contentious.

I'm sure there are many reasons that motivate us to change the gospel because we perceive the gospel to be not good news, but bad news, or at least if it's not good news, it's not the best news, and we can improve it and make it better than the gospel that it is.

May be that's what motivates us.

May be it's because the gospel reduces is to shame, and we can't stand that shame, and so we want to change it.

Or we see it as a stumbling block, and people are hostile to it, and so we figure that a little spoonful of sugar might make the medicine go down and so we soften it. We delude it in our attempt to improve upon it.

Hi Beatrice When I consider what Gods word says about this man it is beyond remarkable , he knew the judean law inside out he was a pharisee of pharisee figure of speech the top in His class taught under Gamaliel this guy before born again green beret special forces working for the enemy out of ignorance but absolutely committed to God and His Word under the law. Imagine His mind hearing we no longer have to live by the law his mind was who the Hell do you think you are disobeying my God.

When Jesus Christ appeared to Him God knew there was no other way to convince this man also Jesus Christ never beat Him up instead Hey bub why are you doing this. The shock must have been beyond belief and the quilt I can't imagine, no wander he went into the desert after being born again to talk to God and say whats going on. like our change His also was not over night.

In Galatians 1:15-19 after 3 years he shows up to talk to the leaders in Jerusalem that had to blow there minds the change, then this guy starts witnessing to gentiles and fellowships with converted jews, how many do you think he fellowshipped with that he may have murdered family members. Talk about a spiritual leader, this guy was given all the needed information from Romans to Thessalonians on the operation of The Body of Christ in this the Age of Grace and how to walk in that as individuals. There will never be another Paul what an example to follow, what George Patton was in the Army, this man was for Gods Plan fearless and unstoppable. I've only scratched surface. God Bless

Millennium kingdom.

Part 6.

The Millennium will be the time when there will be the full manifestation of the glory, the power and the will of God over this earth. And all agree that this is not in evidence today. You'll not have hospitals, you'll not have graveyards, you'll not have the suffering nor broken hearts and lives when Christ is reigning on this earth. And it's an insult to my Lord to say that the Kingdom of Heaven is being built today and is in existence on this earth. When He is reigning you won't have the tragedy that presently exists throughout the world.

Millennium takes its label, is detailed in numerous passages including Revelation 20, Isaiah 65, and Ezekiel 40-48, among others. Ezekiel's detailed tour of the Millennial Temple virtually defies any skeptic's attempt to treat it allegorically.

1 John 2:27. Is not a verse we use to defy scripture. Any revelation from the Holyspirit should line up with Gods written word, and what Jesus taught.

John 14:26. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

One can symbolize all the scripture and twist it to say what ever. This is Dangerously flawed!!

Jesus said MY sheep hear my voice, to follow another voice and turn from the call of the great shepherd then you're not his sheep.

Hello GiGi, What I meant was that there is only one gospel that can save mankind today, and that is the gospel of grace ( Acts 20:24 1 Corinthians 15: 1-4 That Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again the third day. Appropriated by faith alone apart from the Mosaic law ( Romans 3:20,21) The gospel of grace and doctrines for the body of Christ, the Church, was a secret ( Romans 16:25, Ephesians 3: 1-11) hidden in the mind of God until revealed to the apostle Paul. In other words, between the time God called Abraham and the calling of the apostle Paul, there was no message of salvation to the Gentile world ( Ephesians 2:11,12). The gospel of grace is most clearly defined in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 " Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures: And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures. Hi Gigi What she is talking about the mystery of the one body of Jews in Gentiles in christ the knowledge of it was given to Paul in this the age of grace. Now the operation of it started on Pentecost, this as Paul wrote was hid in God, the prophets did not know it the original 12 apostles operated it but Paul was given the information by Jesus Christ after he ascended to heaven. Galatians 1:11+12, Ephesians 3:1-4, 1 Peter 1:10-12, the spiritual abilities we have are so great in 1 Corinthians 2:6-8 if the adversary who is the great prince of this world would have known what we who believe were given he would not have crucified our lord. That is what Angela is talking about, Romans through thessalonians is written to the church of God, not saying the gospels are not important its all Gods Word.

I don't believe there's any special formula for salvation other than surrendering to Christ and receiving His Spirit. It was at the point that He placed His Spirit inside me that my salvation took place. Personally, I don't like to use the word accept because the bible never says to accept Him but to receive Him. For me, to accept just means that I mentally agree with what He did for me. I have to receive Him.

I agree that growth takes time. It's a lifelong process. A person has to remain in God's word and be in submission to Him for there to be any growth. Saying we are a follower of Christ is one thing. Actually following Him and being in total submission to Him is another. As for Paul, I believe he was already set apart for salvation before he was born. I get that from Galatians 1:15.

Paul was around 30-32 years old when he had the experience on the Damascus road. God already set him apart for salvation from his mother's womb, but it wasn't until Paul was on the road to Damascus that God actually saved him. So it wasn't immediate for Paul even though God had already planned in due time to save him.

Paul didn't ask to be saved. He was on his was to have more Christians put to death. He says but when it pleased God, meaning the exact moment that God had planned. And Paul says he was separated from his mother's womb. So God already had a plan for Paul while he was still in the womb. For 30-32 years, he was carrying on in his sinful acts until one day God says "times up," and Jesus intervened.

I find it to be true with most, if not everyone that gets saved, is that we're on our own journey and He intervenes and cuts us off, stops us dead in our tracks, and points us in His direction.

Brother Adam, maybe our definition of FREE WILL differ. FREE would dictate that; that WILL, would have no CAUSE making it occur other than yourself.

Man makes CHOICES thousands or time a day; but those CHOICES have a CAUSE:

Philippians 2:13 For it is God that worketh in you TO WILL and TO DO ....

They is never an effect without there first being a CAUSE.

God is sovereign and the CAUSE of everything.

I've been away for a while so I'm not sure if you're responding to someone or you are asking this question for yourself? Either way, what leads me to believe that James is the half-brother of Jesus is that after Jesus was born, Mary and Joseph had other children. We know that Jesus had four half-brothers, James, Joses, Simon, and Judas (Jude), and at least two half-sisters.

Paul says in Galatians 1:19, "But other of the apostles I didn't see, except for James the Lord's brother." This would be the Lord's half-brother, also the author of the book of James. What would make James the Lord's half-brother is that they shared the same mother, but different fathers.
