Discuss Galatians 5 Page 17

I find Galatians 5 to serve as a blueprint, in many ways, because Paul reiterates on what Jesus taught regarding the things we must do, and not do, to inherit the Kingdom of God. In this chapter, the Word is made plain with no parables to decipher, plus, Paul identifies each vice separately, so there should be no confusion as to what's acceptable and what is not. Galatians is a feeding to my soul

How do we know its an Apple Tree, or an Orange Tree? Because of its fruit! How does God know that we are saved and really in the Good Tree? By the fruit! Not every one who says, Lord, Lord, shall enter the kingdom of God, but he that does the will of the Father. If we love Jesus we will necessarily also DO what He says. If we have His Spirit and grace really working in us, then we will reflect it!

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law." A law is a rule or set of rules for good behavior which is considered right and important; a law is a natural process in which a particular event or thing always leads to a particular result. We do those things that ESTABLISH the rules of good behavior.

I had some thoughts I wanted to share with you. I hope they come over clearly enough as I had kind of a hard time finding just how to put in words. I think the point has to do with where we place our faith... on outward observance of the Law, and putting ourselves under a yoke that actually can misrepresent the character and nature of our grace and peace in Christ, with respect also to our place won by Christ's shed blood and sacrifice to redeem us to God and enact our Adoption as children, over servants that we were before.

"Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage." The Lord Jesus said many times about how "...you shall have whatsoever you say " and in the minds of most of us, that tremendous word has been a great inspiration and encouragement both for every trial and difficulty that we should encounter and for the unsearchable wonder of His open invitation to ask WHATSOEVER WE DESIRE when we pray! In the context of what the Apostle is teaching here, our speech and confession coroborates our very standing in God's sight by the form of our religion. As with all of God's truth, the "tip of the iceberg" as we may first come to see, is still part of the whole, which is far greater and deeper than can immediately be seen. The power and authority that God has given to man to pronounce in faith, to bring things about, we are still far from fully grasping. But this is what is implied in the things and manners we take as our religion.

"If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit." We ARE under Law to Christ: The Law of the Spirit of Life! We are in a war against the lusts of the flesh, which work to deceive us into sinning. We LIVE IN THE SPIRIT! Our weapons are not carnal, but mighty through God TO THE PULLING DOWN OF STRONGHOLDS! We are under Charge of God to CAST DOWN IMAGINATIONS and to control our thoughts!

Galatians 5:22 Fruits of the spirit are love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance.

Which sprit are we go after the sprit of this earth and under. The earth or The Holy Sprit that the The God above the earth

Galatians 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

To increase your faith in God, study your Bible. Know who is talking, who they are talking to and in what period of time they were talking in. Change requires a mental change. God has provided the in His written word the things we need to do and think about. Galatians 5: 22 through 26. Strive for the faith once delivered. Jude 3.

123:V:22-26? We are all drawing closer to the grave, young or old. Most are on that wide road. Few find it even harder to find the Narrow Road. We who are redeemed by The Blood of The Lamb, are the only Light the world will see,if they don't see Christ in us???Called: John 6:44,forgiving : 1John1:9,Baptized with fire: Matthew 3:11,Changed: 2Corinthians 5:17, you "will" know, "impossible" not to know!

To Irene 123: Jn 15:13 is a beautiful text but has nothing to do with our "subject". Not that I need it, but for your Christian growth and self esteem: An "I am sorry" would have been more... biblical.

Verse 25 says we should walk or live by spirit. If we are living by spirit we should be joyful people, cultivate peace, be loving, and mild.

I saw on the comments 'backlog' from 2013 a comment from a 12 yr. old girl, quote - "I understand this verse more clearly than adults and I'm 12." unquote. Then a 'dart' tossed at her from an (adult?) quote - " ... can you explain how you understand (this verse?). I am sure we can all learn ... from a 12 yr. old ...", unquote.
I thought of Matt. 12:14 and all the 'Pharisee' verses. cont.

A wretch, 6-27-16 - a person looking for salvation/deliverance can find it in God's word - Acts 2:37-38. God is LOVE, this is HIS plan of salvation, it's in HIS Word, the Bible. Because He loves us so much more than even our parents can, He has provided ALL things we need to overcome. Without FAITH it is impossible to please Him. Faith is simply - believing and then following thru with Acts 2:38.

V. 13 - " ..... only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh; ..... "; the 'flesh' also includes our minds and mouths - "set a watch before my mouth and a door on my lips" - Proverbs. Sorry, I don't know the number reference, but it's easy to look up.
