Can someone clear up the genealogical reckoning in verse 36 (Which was the son of Cainan, which was the son of Arphaxad, which was the son of Sem...) From Genesis 10:22 (22 The sons of Shem were Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram. 24 And soothly Arphaxad begat Salah, of whom Eber was born.). Here in Luke there is an extra lineage given between Salah and Arphaxad.
I think we all .Is the boat when it comes to the bible. Instead of bickering back and to, accept by faith that every word is true. Nothing in this world matters but the fact that our almighty GOD sent his only begotten SON into this world to die for sinners of which everyone is, because in Genesis when Adam disobeyed GOD it made all sinners. There is still sinners so as GOD'S people we should be
Gladys: They did have one language until the tower of Babel, where they tried to build a tower to God. God made them not to understand one another there and gave different families different languages and they was made to go into all the world. Each sticking to thier own family which became nations.
The bible carefully sets forth the generations. Is it so that the line of David can remain pure and to assure that Mary's roots can be traced back to the beginning as clean?
Hello, Al Zepp; Thank you for your civil and kind words. ( Genesis 10:8-11; 11:1-9) This is a most important moral and spiritual disaster, and that which set the course for heathen defiance and perversion from the truth deeply set into the minds and souls of men. This topic needs to be thoroughly searched out and understood; as it is the fundamental cause of the antichrist spirits in the world.
"And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth." It would be ridiculous to imagine that someone could ever persuade the world to abandon what they have held as sacred as religion for thousands of years; but as Christians, we should know the truth about what is behind all the violence, and the fanatic obsession with anti-Christ globalism. "Pray that you enter not into temptation."
" ..... how we fight each other today". That is the result of original sin. Building a tower to reach to heaven; a 'temple' for their idol(s). God told Solomon to build Him a temple; He didn't tell these people to build a temple; you do what God tells you - or you lose.
V. 5 - By these were the isles of the gentiles ..... " As I just now read this again I saw that at this time there were no - Jews yet; God hadn't taken out a people for His name yet. That happened with Jacob, when his name was changed to Israel, as he wrestled with God.
Genesis 10:25
"And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg; for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother's name was Joktan."
How was the earth divided? Was it only in the languages, and every family to their own borders? Also, as to the point that Peleg was named in the genealogy of the Lord Jesus; are we to draw some teaching about Christ being the cause of division?
"The Church" Baptized by the Spirit preaching the way of salvation. Thousands were already saved and baptized. Acts2:41 These are the ones Paul was persecuting! "Hitler"of that day! Received mercy, road to Damascus,3days later was Baptized. Nothing new! Ephesians 4:4-5-- One Lord, one faith, one Baptism,---. Genesis 10:5 By these were the isles of the Gentiles Divided--. Always Gentiles,Old--New.
I think that it is fantastic how it tells us about the generations of the sons of Noah and about these nations divided in the earth. I liked hearing the names of these nations. It is amazing how all of those nations came from the sons of Noah and yet how we fight each other today.
verses 8-12; The world after the flood was a place of happiness and virtue up to that point. What was started instead, was the going forth conquering, and to conquer; the heathen rage of violence and endless wars, only to prove who will be the mighty over all the earth; as all moral restraint is taken away, judgment is darkened; and all that is in their end, death, and hell following. ( Rev. 6).

GREETING EVERYONE, I HAVE SOME ADVICE TO GIVE, PLEASE READ THE WHOLE BOOK BEFORE MAKING STATEMENTS. The generations are good. It let 's us know who was obedient unto God what God did about it and His punishment to them. The relationship between the family .
GEN 10-24...Stephan Woehr 's: I agree with most of what you said, I believe also, that we are all part of the human race, and all creations of GOD But the part where you believe we can all trace our lineage back to Adam is where I think you may be wrong. Even though it is inconsequential and not worth arguing about. Their is more to it than just pigmentation, Its possible that before the flood their could have been one race, it doesn 't say one way or the other. Most believe it was after the flood, at Babel, when God confounded the tongue, and man was scattered across the face of the Earth. Their had to be more to the changes in physical appearance between the races that is not explained, maybe just not meant for us to know. It doesn 't effect my faith one way or another, PRAISE THE GOD OF CREATION, AND HIS HOLY SON AND PRAISE HIS HOLY SPIRIT WHICH IS THE POWER THAT CONTAINS ALL THINGS. AMEN!!
GENESIS 10 1 12 15 3:42 PM Here in entire chapter of GENESIS CHAPTER 10 was the GENERATIONS of Noah which God found grace in him. But thank to Almighty God that HE knew the thing to be done until the Lord Jesus reveal on us for our REDEEMER. A-MEN.

Hello RNM I do not know if they will post this, however, King David s wife was Bathsheba an Ethiopian Queen. King Solomon loved another Ethiopian Queen, Sheba . In ancient times, Ethiopia did not refer to a specific geographic location. The word means burnt skin. The term, Ethiopian referred to any population of people with dark skin. Mary Magdalene s father was a black king from Libya. If you look at a lot of Ethiopians they are people of color. There are many shades of Black people all over the world in many different nationalities, some with straight hair. In the end, if a person is truly saved and has God in their hearts where is the room for prejudice?
I am sorry for sounding off like that in my last comment, I get that way sometimes when I see GOD 's perfect ways maligned, maybe out of zealous ignorance but still maligned, I could give you a dozen reasons why all this talk about Bathsheba and her son Solomon not being black, but if you really believe in God 's Omnipotence and perfect order I shouldn 't half to. AMEN
The thing to keep in mind is, God created us all in his likeness and in his image, and that 's the most important part of it. right so lets Praise GOD and His Son and the Holy Spirit. AMEN
You are wrong in your assumption, and so is the scholarly advice you are going by, Solomon was not black. and that is a fact, I am sorry that you can not except that, but we can 't just go around re writing History to suit our own wishes.

Hello RNM If you go to Matthew 1 7 you will find Solomon in Jesus Christ lineage. He was black and God loved him. 2 Samuel 12 24 "And David comforted Bathsheba his wife, and went in unto her, and lay with her and she bare a son, and he called his name Solomon and the LORD loved him ". It does not matter what nationality or ethnicity a black man Solomon was, the fact is that he was black. Therefore, black people cannot be all that bad if Jesus Christ had them in his lineage through his mother.
The MESSIAH was born of a Jewish Mother who was of the lineage of David who descended from the tribe of Judah which was a pure line going all the way back to Adam, God would not have it any other way AMEN

Hello Gyenyame Flavious One last comment I have not read anywhere in the Bible where Satan begot anyone through sexual means. Please read my comments to Katie on 10 15 14 at 8 59 and 9 00 am under Genesis Chapter 3 page 2.

Hello Gyenyame Flavious The point I am trying to make is that some preachers have stated and some religions bases teach that black people were begotten by Satan. Because of this Black people are cursed. I understand that Mormon or Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints believe in this. This really cannot be true because black people are found in Jesus Christ lineage. So if Black people were really cursed and tainted then why would Jesus Christ put them in his lineage. Once again we can talk about this subject until the cows come home but it still does not stop the deep rooted prejudice in America and around the world. However, if people do not get saved according to Acts 2 38 then they will die in their sins with their prejudicial thoughts separated forever away from God. I am not saying not to teach this information because it is part of the Bible, but unless people truly get saved by following Acts 2 38 and continue to want to live saved their thoughts will never change.

Hello Gyenyame Flavious Your comment is noted. It is very nice to know that Black people are mentioned in the Bible. Solomon was also a Black man whom God loved also. 2 Samuel 12 24 "And David comforted Bathsheba his wife, and went in unto her, and lay with her and she bare a son, and he called his name Solomon and the LORD loved him ". According to some scholars Solomon mother, Bathsheba, was black. This being the case then when you read the lineage of Jesus Christ you will find this Black man, Solomon mentioned. Matthew 1 6 And Jesse begat David the king and David the king begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias . So if Black people were gotten by Satan then why would Jesus make them part of his lineage. This is something to think about isn t it? Knowing that black people were spoken of in the Bible is good, however knowing this does not change the much deep rooted prejudice in our country and around the world. However, if we can get people to get saved, truly saved then prejudice will become a thing of the past with them, because they will be striving to live saved and love everybody, help everybody, and strive for equality for everybody. People must follow Acts 2 38. Once they get truly saved then God can mold them into the right frame of mind, heart, and soul.
Elam were those people who settled in Anda now India, the Elamited were driven from Anda by Ayan nomades. This forced them to resettle in Jarawa an island in present day India, those Elamites who risisted are now called black Indians. They called the land Andaman till this day
