I'd keep reading. Seek the truth and open yourself to learn who God really is and what He will reveal to you. Pray for wisdom and understanding. I wouldn't stop after one section and make conclusions before you take the entire context of the Bible into account. There are logical explanations for your questions.

For your food question if you continued reading you would have naturally found Acts 10. There is much more info in the New Testament about what law applies today, because there is moral law, civil law, and ceremonial law. The latter two were specific to Israelites. You would also read a verse like this: Matthew 5:17-20

I'm not sure how interested you are in my belief, but I am happy to dialogue with you as long as it is respectful and grounded in the truth of God's word, not man's opinion. You shared scripture which is great, I believe all the scripture you shared, but I don't believe your interpretation of it. I believe you have misinterpreted it and I can be very specific to the exact reasons why for each point if you are genuinely open to it. For the scripture you shared there is more scripture that says Jesus is God. He's not God the Father, but God the Son. I believe this, because the scripture says this, not because of feelings, bias, or agenda, but because it literally says Jesus is God in John 1:1. Do you believe John 1:1?

Your comment began with a question not about the trinity as the Bible says in 1 John 5:7. But your question wasn't about what the Bible says in 1 John 5:7, but the word 'trinity'. Since we don't know each other I don't know your motive for saying that, but I can say that some others use it as a common straw man argument to deceive others in order to discredit Jesus. The word the "Bible" isn't in the Bible either, so is it not a Bible? The word used in 1 John 5:7 is the three are 'one', so if you can use that if you don't like the word trinity.

Hi wayne Scripturally I don't read where days or years were shorter.

It is unclear if the length of our days and years were the same as then as now. Perhaps findings of science may shed some light on this matter. And then the scientific reasoning on what they find could be accurate or faulty. When examining scientific discoveries an the way scientist interpret the artifacts or findings, I take a a prayerful approach. God allows things to be discovered, unearthed, and/or calculated scientifically for a reason. Perhaps to test our faith in him and His Word or maybe to shed more light on what Scripture has said or perhaps even left out.

How did certain people in bible times live so long?

This account of the confusion of languages at Babel and the dispersing of peoples throughout the world is instructive. God have commanded that people fill the peoples in Babel knew this command because it was expressed in the explanation of why they endeavored to build the tower to the heavens. They desired to remain together and the civilization that existed at this time promoted this. The spread across the world perhaps was inevitable as populations increased to need migration further away from the centralized hub of civilization. However, these people did not want to do what God had commanded and they thought they could resist God's actions by building this tower. isn't that the story of mankind down through the ages? trusting man's wisdom and innovation over God's directions and will? makes me wonder how much I have leaned on things man has developed or promoted rather than seeking God's direction first. I pray to live a more thoughtful life day by day as I hope to seek God's will in ALL things.

Some say that the world's land mass was centralized at this time and began to break apart and drift into two hemispheres. This could explain how easy it would have been for these generations to spread out and inhabit all lands of the earth. The breaking apart of the continents would have provided obstacles that allowed peoples to become isolated and develop genetic characteristics, lifestyles, and cultural traditions specific to their areas of habitation.

Also, the presence of similar societal laws, architectural structures, religious practices across the globe from ancient past seems to harken back to a common civilization at one time, which would be here in Mesopotamia.

I have wondered if Noah had any written account of life pre-flood or made any post flood that were passed down to his descendants. If so, they must have gotten lost at some point, as Moses was the one who put these Scriptures in writing.

I think it highly likely that pre-flood peoples had writings.

Below are scriptures everyone should read and pray deeply for wisdom and understanding for. Beware of anyone trying to attack, disrespect, or demean Jesus or the name of Jesus. Jesus loves you and died for you. Scripture indicates that Jesus is God. Jesus is not God the father, but God the son. The 3 are all united as 1. There aren't 3 separate gods, there is 1 God with 3 parts as 1 John 5:7 says. Read all of the scriptures and ignore the cultists who stray from God's Word or distort scripture. Even children can understand what these verses mean so I think some adults are just wanting to reinforce what they already want to believe, because it's convenient for other reasons. This sounds like an intellectually disingenuous question. Even children understand the concept of the Godhead or trinity- it's straight from God's word. If you don't understand it, that's fine, have you tried praying for wisdom and understanding. It's possible some of these comments are games a person is playing to try to pull some away from the truth to his cult-like beliefs not from the Bible. That's like doing the work of the devil. I believe there is a prophetic reason why Enoch and Elijah were taken to heaven without seeing physical death. And... we will be witnesses of that reason.

Why did Noah die, he was so close to God!

Because we are all different and we are all different colors pink, purple white, black we are all precious in his eyes. he did this because the people were all the same that's why he created whites blacks and Spanish. no matter what color or language we speak we are God children even the one who doesn't believe in him. he said that everything that breatheth let them worship his holy name, animals, and all he gave breath to us and I think we should thank him and worship him.

There is nowhere in the Bible that states Noah had triplets. There is Scripture to prove what Chris stated is correct:

" Genesis 7:6 "And Noah was six hundred years old when the floodwaters was opon the earth."

Genesis 11:10 "Shem was an hundred years old, and begat Arphaxad two years after the flood:".

A little bit of subtraction tells us that therefore Shem was born when Noah was in his 502nd year."

Knowing Noah began to beget sons in His 500th year. Japheth being the oldest son of Noah, born in/close to Noahs 500th year, then Shem in His 502nd year, and the birth of Ham, youngest, can not be traced. Just as Chris stated.

Gen, Chp 11, Verse 2: Someone might need to check the wording. the word "from" may not suppose to be there. They traveled eastward or east; not "from the east" I could be totally wrong though. I have checked other sources and I can say the base of the tower is still there east of the city in Shinar in a valley. But here again could be wrong. I suggest you check the wording and decide. I am so happy to hear you are reading the Bible...it can be quite challenging at times. The "Us" you are referring to if the doctrine of the Trinity. You may have also read it in Genesis 1:26 when God says "let us" and "our image". You will read it again in Genesis 11:7 when God says "let us". But the clearest picture of the Trinity and the Godhead is not given until the New Testament: 1 John 5:7: "For there are three that bear record in Heaven, the Father, the Word (Son), and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. God is complex and it can really make your head spin trying to understand everything about Him, but He is triune; three in one; One God. We are made in His image; as such, we are also triune: Body, Soul and Spirit: " 1 Thessalonians 5:23: And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ." This is called the "tripartite" nature of man. Much like the divine Trinity, the three parts of a human make one being.

To explain Genesis 3:15, the best way to read the verse in context...meaning understanding what is going in. The Serpent has just deceived Eve, who in turn deceived Adam. Adam and Eve had their eyes opened after eating the fruit from the one tree God commanded them not to eat from. God is now meting out judgement.

Genesis 3:15 "And I will put enmity (animosity) between you and the woman..." The Lord is speaking to the serpent (Satan), "...and between your seed..." (offspring or those who follow Satan) "...and her Seed..." (The Lord Jesus Christ) Christ "...shall bruise your head..." (the Victory that Jesus won at the Cross Colossians 2:14-15) , "...and you shall bruise His Heel..." the sufferings of the Cross.

The Bible doesn't specifically tell us how the drop in human longevity changed from the large numbers you read of in Genesis chapter 5, to smaller numbers as you progressively go through that Book & into the rest of biblical history.

We can assume that when God created humans, He intended that we live forever. When Adam & Eve sinned, not only their hearts became sin-tainted, but their intimate walk with God (i.e. their relationship) was affected & the duration of their earthly existence was shortened. Even though Adam lived for 930 years (& Eve possibly for a similar duration), even that was abnormal.

Then we come to Noah & the Great Flood that wiped away all living creatures, except Noah & his family. I should say, that the reference to 120 years in Genesis 6:3 is often taken as 'God's shortening of man's ages to 120 years, however, that actually is a reference to the time God gave to man before he would be wiped off the Earth because of his unrestrained sin. So these great ages of humans continued until the Flood. Post Flood: ages began to reduce as we see in Noah's son, Shem ( Genesis 11:10 ff) & others in history, but this wasn't the rule.

So, it's understood that with a possible defective gene in Noah/his wife that was subsequently passed onto his son's & then down the line to us, the effects of sin that had increasingly affected our bodies, & even our changing conditions (chemical levels in the atmosphere, diet, mental/emotional stability, life's complications bringing on pressures, etc.) could well have contributed to a much shorter life span. In Psalm 90:9,10, Moses states: "The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow". Though Moses himself lived for many more years than 70, 120 years in fact, he probably envisaged that man's days 'were numbered' & if we should live beyond 70, life would get more difficult, finally extracting our final breath.

In Genesis 1:26, we see the plurality of God in that great creative work of mankind. We know that Jesus was also involved in creation ( Colossians 1:15,16) & that mankind was to bear the image of the Deity. When Jesus took on humanity, that 'exterior' image faded but the full Image & Being of the Godhead was not diminished.

In Genesis 1:27, we read that "God created man in his OWN Image", which I don't see as presenting any problem as it's still the self-same God in His Triunity that created man to bear His Image.

Then in Genesis 3:22 we read, "And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of US, to know good and evil". Here again, God brings in the Fullness of His Being, as created man stepped outside of God's Will & now able to discern between good & evil, & has further taken on another aspect of God. Man lost his innocence by his sinning against God.

The above verses reveal to us the triunity of God, but when we get to Genesis 11:7, we read: "Let US go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech." We can't be sure who went with God to do this work: was it Jesus as God's Word, or the angels or some Beings of Heaven, we don't know. Since it didn't involve the creation of someone or something to bear His Image, we could understand that others were involved at the Tower of Babel.

In Genesis chapter 10, you get a full chapter detailing all the people that began to multiply after the Ark finally rested on Ararat. Then in chapter 11, we take a step back to see that all those came after Noah & his sons remained together in their journeyings until they came to the land of Shinar (in the Babylonian region). It was here that they decided to build a city for themselves & a tower as a huge symbol of unification. But we know the story, as the Lord confused their common language as this was in contradiction to what God planned that they should go out & fill the Earth. This confusion forced them to separate into groups of single language & spread out to other parts of the region. And so that place was called Babel.
