I think Lot had a discerning spirit if not, he couldn 't have recognised them as strangers visitors to be welcomed and harboured in his house. May God grant us such gift in Jesus name.
It is sad that Lot 's daughters had so little faith in God after her removed them from Sodom that they believed they had to rape their father to have children.
I am very concerned about verses 30 38. In these verses, Lot has sex with his two daughters. There is not one word of condemnation for this incestuous behaviour which I find disgusting as every other moral person should. I find it impossible to believe that this kind of filth could be written by God.
I was pondering this Scripture thinking if some food is too salty it is not fit to eat, only to throw out. She became salt so much that she lost out because she was waste. She specifically disobeyed the command of the angel, this could be a picture of lack of obedience making us completely useless, God 's plans can 't be accomplished by our will, but by His, therefore rendering us useless in the kingdom.
10 Lit., that we may know them. The verb know yada was used of sexual intercourse, hence the translations that we may have relations with them NASB and have sex with them NIV . Gay theologians argue that yada is only used 15 times to describe sexual understanding but it appears over 900 times as mental understanding. However, word usage statistics are not nearly as important as context. In Bible interpretation, context is king. Yet, it can also be argued that ten of the twelve usages of yada in Genesis refer to sexual intercourse e.g., 4 1, 25 .
here we can see people rushing to the house of Lot cause they want to KNOW the 2 men visitors, what does it mean when the bible talks about KNOW, in the book of Genesis records that when Adam KNOW Eve she conceive... we must understand something here about the word KNOW. Genesis 4 1King James Bible And Adam knew Eve his wife and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD.
The holiest man in the city offers up his two virgin daughters to a mob to protect his male guests who he knows are angels? after all daughters just aren 't as important as those males guests. An inebriated father has sex with his two daughters, but of course it was their idea. This is a lesson in what makes a good man?
This seems like a form of gang rape. However it didn 't say that they wanted to have sexual relations with them it said they wanted to know them, but know them informally. Yet this still remains a mystery to us because we cant prove but give opinion since it was something wicked.
This shows the importance of doing things Jehovah God's way when we are told the first time. God told Lot to flee to the mountains in the first place, but he begged to go to Zoar. Lot ended up fleeing Zoar in the end out of fear and he should have listened to Jehovah in the first place.
I know this may be upsetting to know, but we must live not by bread, but every word that proceed out of the mouth of God. The truth is that to get to know someone in this scriptures is sexually. The Father told us in the world that there is nothing knew under the sun. Men are being with men today.
Ity is in my opinion that Lot's wife may have fact been gay herself. Some may disagree with this. The fact of the matter in this the 2 daughters that stayed behind, not "LEFT" behind had a choice to leave. The scripture does mentioned they (The 2 daughters)were married. Which also suggest that although the 2 were married, why didn't their husband take heed in leaving town with their wives? I tend to think they, (lot's daughters and son-in-laws, may have have been involved to the same sex practise. As far as Lot's wife, I don't think she looked back because what was going on as far as the noise of the brimstones distroying the city. She was told NOT to look back! It's possible that she too may have been caught up in that lifestyle. In chapter 18, Abraham pleaded with GOD not to distroy the city if he could find a number of rightouse people. From 50 people on down, he could not find, not 1 rightouse person. If Lot was rightous, according to the request of Abraham, the city would not been distroyed. With that in mind, that could explain why the 2 younger daughters had sex with thier father. They were not rightous. The 2 daughts decided to keep the family going by having sex with father. So far as being rightous, there was none rightous. I think Lot's wife was secretly gay or Lot knew about it but assumed that she would change if she was in a different environment.
I'm just imagining what Lot must have been feeling by the end of this chapter. I'm picturing this family running for their lives. Sprinting! Lot and his wife hand in hand. He probably says something like "Baby, don't let go of my hand nomatter what" and reminds her that they can't look back. They all began to sprint away! Big exploding meteors steaming toward the city behind them. Then, hearing the loudest explosion, she looks back. In Lot's hand, a handful of rock-salt. But stars are still falling behind him. He has to keep running. No time to grieve now. What went through his head at that moment? That's the image that I get from this chapter.
The reference to sexual promiscuity symbolized the depravity of the times. Not so different from what we're seeing today. Especially with the advancements in technology which puts even more temptations before us and even our children. Since God judged these other cities you wonder how far His patience will go with us. How many truly righteous people do we have in the U.S.A. today? It begins with believing as Abraham did.
To Ed, yes Ed, I am very concerned about the incest in this story. You are right to be offended by it. You should not, however, be at all surprised since the Old Testament is full of stories of incest, adultery, murder, infanticide, slavery, promiscuity and violence.

Genesis 19. We need not to over look those in authority; we ought to submit and obey those we are under coz they carry our blessing n the blessing of God flows from the head. I.e when lot separated from Abraham things started to change n he the spirit of compromise came upon him n he even wanted to offer her daughters to the sodomites.
@Gilmore, Linton: What happened was, Lot didn't offer his daughters to the angels, he offered his daughters to the homo***ual men who were trying to "know" the angels. Lot's wife got punished because of disobedience. I only think that Lot didn't get punished for getting drunk and impregnating his daughters was, because the daughters gave him the wine then, laid with him.
Can someone explain to me, while wasn't Lot punished for offering his daughters as ***ual pawns to the angels. And for getting drunk with wine from his daughters and impregnating them. His wife was consumed. I'm confused as a christian. HELP.
Don't look back. lot's wife looked back and became a pillar of salt. This is telling us not to look into the worldly things, we should dedicate our life o Christ at all time. Temptation will always come like it did for lot's wife, she remembered all the worldly enjoyment and looked at them. bur she got the result. thank God we are alive today, we can make repentance today and God is always ready to forgive our sins. i pray God give us sufficient race to live a holy life in Jesus name Amen.
