    one of the bigger laws of physic is that energy can not be created or destroyed, So where did it come from? It had to always existed. Can you imagine there being nothing, not even energy. I can't. So I have to accept that it all started, with energy. So what is GOD if not energy and obviously that energy must be good; and energy can create matter; and in the beginning, God created Heaven and earth and his spirit, his energy, moved upon the face of the earth; and He created man and man became a Living soul, living energy; and He talked with Adam; but Adam sinned and took the power to tell right from wrong, Adam's mind; and so we are living soul with a mind. Now a search on the internet confuses and speculated how the the soul and mind are the same; but it is not according to me and I think the Bible if you tke it in sequence.
  • GiGi - In Reply on Genesis 1 - 2 years ago
    Dear Sally, You are right. God does not have a mouth or other physical characteristics like we have because He is Spirit and is not made of matter like us. Genesis clearly shows how God made man out of matter, (dirt). So this dirt image is not the "image of God". I have heard it taught that the image is such that, like God:

    we are self-aware and aware of others;

    we have emotions, as God does;

    we have thoughts and the ability to reason, as God does;

    we have a will, as God does;

    we have are interpersonal, like God is.

    There are probably other ways that we are "in God's image" but I think that these mentioned may help you in your understanding of how we are created in His image.

    Sally Quinn,

    Great you're reading the Bible! Romans 10:17, 2Timothy 2:15,

    James 1:5,

    Genesis 1:26,27, compare to; John 1:1-4, Job 38,

    One GOD: 1Timothy 2:5, Galatians 3:20,

    Food in Heaven = Psalms 78:24,25, Revelation 22:2, Luke 22:16, Matthew 26:29, Revelation 19:9, Luke 14:16-24,

    Hopefully these are helpful

    This is my first time reading the Bible even though I was raised Catholic. Never too late. But I've lots of questions.

    Why does God use plural pronouns like "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness"? Why wouldn't he say "Let me make man in my image"? It would seem to imply more than one God.

    Also, in "my image" is interesting. Is this to be taken literally? Could it be a translational issue? I wonder because I don't see why God would need a mouth to eat or have a digestive system. Does He eat? I don't mean to sound contrary, I'm just curious. When I think of God, I see Light. I don't see Him looking like us.

    Thanks.

    Lord, I pray you guide my words

    Is there any holiday, or day specifically meant for God, or even Jesus? If we love our god, and his son Jesus. Then surely there should be a day that is meant entirely for the praise of our Lord. I don't believe Halloween brings glory to God.

    But there isn't officially. Even Easter is manipulated. Plastic eggs full of candy, distributed by a fictional easter bunny does not bring glory to our lord. Our instructions are in the 10 commandments. The second commandment speaks to me about holidays specifically.

    Exodus 20:4-6

    "4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:

    5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

    6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments."

    So what is the celebration of Halloween for?

    Well the major themes are always fear and darkness. That is not from our God. God is the creator of light and divider of darkness.

    Genesis 1:3-4

    "3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

    4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness."

    Darkness and fear are work of the Devil. Let us not worship the enemy and the father of lies. Let us praise our God and bring glory to him.

    Hello Sabrina, good to know you!

    U are a beautiful Child of God whereby upon conception God put your soul into your body, and when you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior you became of the new nature, you became spiritually alive in Christ .

    You can read of how mankind was created, all the races called the 6th day creation when God created both male and female in Genesis 1:27.

    I would recommend you reading Roman's for it contains the ABC of the believer's education. Until its lesson is learned, we know and can know nothing. The Holy Spirit has placed it first in Canonical order because it lies at the threshold of all "church" teaching, and if we wrong here we shall be wrong altogether.

    Hello Shelves,

    God did not come from anywhere. He has existed always. He had no beginning and will never ceases to be. This is why He gave Moses His name as "I AM WHO I AM" or "I WILL BE WHO I WILL BE" which speaks to being everlasting, eternal, being self-existent. This means that God is Life Itself. His existence is derived only from Himself, not having acquired life or existence outside of Himself. Existence is internally Who He Is. In many places in the Scriptures God speaks of Himself as the Eternal God, Everlasting Father, Everlasting to Everlasting, ( Isaiah 63:16; 1 Chronicles 16:36; 29:10; Psalm 41:13; 90:2; Isaiah 9:6; 40:26; Psalm 93:2; Genesis 21:33; Jeremiah 10:10, etc.)

    We are to understand by these Scriptures that God always IS eternally so. He alone has this eternal existence, that is why He alone is the only true God. Hope this helps.

    Fake gods come from rebellion against GOD ALMIGHTY. Acts 19:26, 2Kings 19:18,

    1Timothy 2:5,

    The imagination of man; to ignore the obvious all around: that the earth, our very being, molecules that aren't created, only slightly manipulated by man, asks an answer beyond some comprehension.

    The question itself seems to derive from rebellion. Isaiah 55:8, Isaiah 29:15,16, Psalms 94:5-15, Psalms 139, Job 38:2-41, Job 40:7-13,

    GOD gave some of us very deeply inquisitive minds, to invent witty things, Proverbs 8:12, some build imaginative creations, that in ourselves deep questions of consciousness & core beginnings arise at times. In these gifted minds of power & powerful thinking, faults sometimes into arrogance of belief to define The CREATOR & make a beginning. Because in limited understanding we have beginning & perceivable ending in flesh. Yet in our core perceive there is more in the supernatural, outside the flesh. 1Corinthians 1:27,

    We as humans are like gods ourselves we can choose to do mighty evil or good in our days, we can cause other's to cry in distress or rejoice with gladness but in the end we will all answer to GOD ALMIGHTY the maker of heaven & earth. Psalms 82, Leviticus 25:17, Romans 14:12,

    It's also amazing that a creator would care so much for what HE has created that HE would still have a plan of redemption even after rebellion: John 3:16

    Hi Bill.

    Here's my opinion.

    I don't know.

    We're not given any revelation in scripture that there's life beyond earth.

    God bless.

    I often wonder what plan. That God has for creating a planet for mankind to be deyeloped for missions through the univerese.

    When we are called to heaven our mission is to praise and worship God. Is there other worlds that need to understand the purpose of their existence?

    Mike Gyver, about the division of the waters during the Creation time, where the Warters were placed above "heaven" is speaking of our water in the sky, which is basically a lot. He had it in a great place of early time. If you read in the Genesis, it says it did not rain, but had due to water the plants. When the flood of Noah's time came, God opened the gates and let the water come back to Earth as the Flood. After this went by, God set in evaporation to gradually send the waters into the atmosphere in the form of clouds. Then is when rain began. It is a gradual pace over the Earth, so there will never be another Flood of the sots in Noah's time. We do have floods dome of the time, on some of the Earth, but not all at once. People cause the floods by turning away from God. Just as with droughts and storms. When people start obeying God in life, He blesses us with good weather.

    Hi Gregory. If I have your question correct, 'now that I am a believer trusting in Jesus only to save me from sin's penalty, when did the promise of eternal life with the Father in Heaven commence?'

    If correct, it is my belief that the promise of eternal life began immediately upon your new birth by God's Spirit. When we look at the Scriptures referring to eternal life, we see that it is synonymous to believing/placing one's trust in the Lord. John 3:36: "He that believeth on the Son HATH everlasting life." John 5:24: "He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, HATH everlasting life." John 6:47: "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me HATH everlasting life."

    1 John 5:11-13: "And this is the record, that God HATH GIVEN to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that HATH the Son HATH life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that YE MAY KNOW THAT YE HAVE ETERNAL LIFE, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God."

    All these verses indicate that eternal life is our present possession, i.e. 'you have it NOW'. As soon as our hearts were renewed & the Holy Spirit came to indwell us, our sin was dealt with, we became God's children, and our earthly walk was no longer uncertain, overcome with sin & living without hope in God's Love. And that is why the Apostle Paul stated in Philippians 3:20, "For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ". Paul understood that our conversation (Gk. politeuma: citizenship) had already begun in the heavenlies; that our earthly life now, is just an earthly sojourn - "our affections are set on things above, not on Earth" and "for here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come."

    When once this earthly life was probably our only joy & hope, now IN CHRIST, we are but pilgrims here, gazing upward, confident & secure towards eternity.

    Before God was created the creation, I could see the first Trinitarian from the beginning of the Genesis:1:1-3, I feel what God carried out the things from his word, it was His power of the Spirit, and the same word could seen the transformation took placed in the Mother Mary womb when Jesus had to born, and thus it meant by John say in the gospel to us 1:1, In the beginning was the word, and the word was with the God, and the word was God, So I could see the first Trinitarian stood side by side,

    The Lamb. God's Word alone reveals who He is and His word makes known

    Christ the Son of the most High God. I would not look for signs I would look to

    God's Word and Jesus Christ and confess Romans 10:9+10 and not depend on

    Portals or dreams or visions Unless they can be lined up with scripture and

    Glorify God and bless you and there is no confusion in it. Where there is confusion

    There is every evil work.

    There an time when God Spoke unto me with His great Holy voice and with authority and power and there was an time when mine Lord Spoke unto me NO WHAT YOU BELIEVE ARE MAN'S RULES AND LAW'S AND NOT MINE OWN WHAT DOES MY WRITTEN WORD SAY ? And I felt as if mine Lord was making known me that He would me read His written Word and I had thought what am I going to do try and read through the whole Bible to try and find what it is He is trying to show me and then I had thought oh well I'll try and I had believed there to be a Bible lying on the floor next to me and when I looked to my left to try and see if I could see The Bible there right next to me was what appeared unto me as bright shimmering light's and as I leaned backwards it was revealed unto me that it was a portal/Porter/Gate way and on The other side was an open Book of scripture sitting on a table in someone else's Home and I moved and got before it for at the first it was to the side of me and at the first I had seen it from the same side so I moved and gotten in front of it and I read all of the herb's and erbs of thee Earth are for man to eat and CONSUME.
