Do a wikipedia search on mariana trench.

If the earth had no hills or valleys it would entirely be covered by water. I believe that was the original condition it was created in. When God created the deep valleys such as the mariana trench, the water receded to those and dry land appeared. Probably the reverse happened during Noah's flood where it says the fountains of the deep were broken up. God may simply have upheaved those deep undersea valleys to cause the water levels to rise above the mountains.

On Gen.1:7 God made firmament and divided water into heaven and earth..., was the earth water or full of water before?

God made us to hold a very important and high calling: to steward His creations for His glory and honor. Even after we fell from that glory and became enemies with God, did He make a way for us through the life's blood of Jesus Christ. If we confess His name and believe that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved from the wrath we deserve! If that wasn't enough, God even gave us His very own Spirit, the very same one that moved upon the face of the deep! And to scratch the surface, He has made us messengers of the good news of salvation in Christ. And that is just what entails for THIS life. God says ear hasn't heard nor eye has seen what God has for those who has accepted His first gift. Praise You, Lord! Your mercy is true and Your Love beyond understanding!!!

GOD created everything and all life throughout the whole wide world and universe also: And GOD said, Let there be light: And there was light. Everything that GOD made was good especially with men. Gen. 1:31 And GOD saw every thing that He had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Genesis Chapter 1:6,7 - It's possible for waters to be suspended if we think about the clouds. We know clouds can hold and incredible amount of water. This is a form of water suspended in the firmament/heavens/sky. Also our "Home Earth" is suspended in the universe as other planets and stars do as well; from this perspective all the water in our planet Earth today...is indeed suspended. - So, when Genesis 1:6,7,8 says about water being divided... I can totally accept it! It's a wonderful display of great wisdom and power from our Loving Heavenly Father and Creator of the heavens and Earth. (just my thought) I would love to hear more thoughts from any one.

The earth was a pile of materials and nothing lived here. I think that Earth was without form but well organized. If I want to built a shed I go to the store and get supplies. I get two-by-fours, half-inch plywood, nails, hinges, windows, flooring, and roof tiles. I set them each in a separate pile on the lawn. My shed is without form and void. Nothing is in my shed and you can't specify its form. then I spend time looking at my supplies and wondering how I am going to turn that stuff into a shed, much like the Spirit hovering over the waters. I'm sure the Spirit knows how to make the Earth better then I know how to make a shed though.

To doubt the authenticity of any part of God's creation of earth and man is to question as did Eve, "Hast God said...?" The earth is as old as it is (6,000+ years). From the evolution theory to the so-called "Gap Theory," they can not be proven. However, when God created MAN, He created him as if he were full grown (not from a baby-to youth-and then manhood). This He did also of the trees, beasts of the field, etc. This would account even for the so-called fossils being ex-number of years old; if they are, it is only in man's reasoning. In actuality they only appear that old because, at whatever point, they were created 6,000+ years excluding the time they would have fully grown.

the bible informs us- subtly so, perhaps- that there already existed what it claims was created by God (i.e. the dark deep waters over which the spirit of God moved).
With the water there must have been containment of same (most possibly some earth)because the water cannot have been suspended.

God is omnipotent, therefore without question and certainly beyond our comprehenion. It would be a mistake to question creation and not to fear him.

Yes in Our image we were replaced to our home that God created and we had lived here for millions of years and then the katabole/attempted overthrow by Satan and God got mad and turn out the lights and took us all back, our souls, and then He turned on the lights and He saw that light was good and then He notice the third of Satan's followers and God seperated the light from the darkness, the solar from the lunar, as you notice in the scriptures there are solar prophecy and moons prophecy which is solar and then God replenished the earth and He sowed his children and Satan sowed the tares, kenites, the wicked one sowed his seed as written in Matt. 13:36-44. So we are all here again. The six day man God covered the earth with different peoples and then God created the Man and Woman the blood line of Christ would come through.

Genesis 1:26 may allow speculation if read by itself. Coupled with Provrbs 8:21+ the first creation is there with Him...to me this is the "us".

The word "replenish" means to replace, usually with more, certainly with something, but definitely something there beforehand. This, along with fossil records and other data, through discernment from the spirit, means that there were beings on the earth prior to Adam and Eve. Void also implies this, as it does not mean "nothing" but rather "wasted". In short, this is the world after the fall of Lucifer from heaven, and God is creating man in order for him to "replenish" it.
  • Allen on Genesis 1:27 - 11 years ago
When the verse states "male and female created He them", it was speaking of creating man in His image as a spirit, for God is a spirit, and must be worshipped in spirit and in truth. So as a spirit, man could not subdue and have dominion (rule) over the physical manifestion of God's will (earth), but could as a living, breathing organism.
  • Shadreck ulaya on Genesis 1 - 11 years ago
genesis chapter 1 reminds me of the power of the word of God, as illustrated in the chapter, the word of God has the ability to call into existence the things that do not exist.
