    I have learned that there is power in the spoken word. And that I needed to be careful whenever I open my mouth to speak, because life and death are in the power of the tongue and whosoever loves it shall it the fruit thereof.

    This is the book that shows us the power of God, his spoken word and unity. In verse 3 God spoke creation and it became-completed-manifested. First He created the Light, so that darkness was eliminated. From verse 3 until verse 25 God speaks and it is done. And in verse 26, He SPEAKS first and then He MAKES in His own image with His own hands a creation named man. He said, let US make man in OUR image,... speaking to himself in other personalities, God the Son (Jesus Christ) and the Holy Spirit to make man, now we see unity coming in, meaning that in every making-building work concerning man unity is highly and importantly required. So for those who thought Jesus came in the New Testament will now be corrected in seeing that He is in the beginning, in fact He is the beginning in which God created the world (verse1). And the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God that was hovering upon the waters. He did not start to manifest only in acts chapter 2, He is in the beginning, it means inside, within the begin (Jesus). So God is one in three personalities; God the Father, the Son and the Holy spirit. He cannot be separated John 14:8-10, and therefore unity is exercised eternally. Man is the greatest creation of God because he is in the image of God, he has been given all the abilities, capabilities and responsibilities. So God speaks that which is not as if it were and it becomes instantly. That’s power.

    The verse contains the beginning of the earth foundation, which exists till now, this shadows the real future foundation which will exist during the time of God; that foundation will not shaken with earthquake or anything else.

    As Silvester suggested, I do feel the LIGHT was Jesus, the only begotten Son of the Father. He has been the Alpha and exists from the beginning.

    When I see evil that exists on this earth in what I observe men doing to other men, I can more clearly see what good is. How is it that I can distinguish what is good or evil? "In the beginning God, (Good) created." And everything God created, He said it was good. What went wrong with creation? Free Choice! We were created with free choice, to choose good or evil. Ezekiel 28:13-19, very quickly describes an angel, that was created perfect, better than good, and he chooses to worship me, myself, and I, setting up his own trinity. When you look away from God, (good), to serve yourself only, you turn into a devil. When you think your ideas are more perfect then your creators ideas, then you make yourself a God in your own mind. Yes it’s a mystery how something created so perfect, could come up with the idea that he could go his own way, and sustain his own existence. When you turn evil, you cause war, and that is what happened in heaven according to Revelation 12:7, and he drew 1/3 of the angelic host with him in Revelation 12:4. They were cast down to earth, where our home was, while it was perfect. God, through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit created us, Genesis 1:26, and we were created perfect. We choose to not trust the ideas of our creator, and listen to the lies of the evil one, and we were then told to leave the Garden of Eden, which used to be heaven on earth, our first home. We now choose sides by our behavior, and how we love one another, which is good, which is Godly, which is what Christ came to do, by coming to earth at some point in time, living a life each day filled with the spirit and power of our creator to overcome evil with Good. I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me, Philippians 4:13.
  • Josephat mushi on Genesis 1:1 - 12 years ago
    In the beginning, God created first the heavens and earth this mean that at the end, we will see a new heaven and a new earth coming down from God Himself.
  • Michael K on Genesis 1 - 12 years ago
    I believe every written in King James Version is correct and there are no errors, but can someone please explain Genesis 1:27 it says God created man in his own image. And then in Genesis 2:5, it says after the seventh day, he rested and then God looked and there was not a man to till the ground, so he created one. But chapter 1 says he already created man? Please explain?

    Genesis 1:29: And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. God gave the seed power to multiply. The seed of an orange for instance when planted germinates and develops into a tree with roots, branches, leaves with fruits. The bark can be used for herbs, the fruits for food, the branches as a shade from sun for man and animal etc. God desires that we grow and be useful for God and man. Genesis 1:28: And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the foul of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. We cannot afford to be unfruitful.

  • Ella on Genesis 1 - 12 years ago
    @Ron,
    On Genesis 1:3, I have been told there were beings before Adam and Eve. And God was not pleased with them. They were not made in God’s image. True or false? Ron, Genesis 1 is about the beings before Adam and Eve (and during the time of Adam and Eve and after Adam and Eve). Adam and Eve came in Chapter 2. In Chapter 1, God "created" man and woman. In Chapter 2, God "forms" a man and calls his name Adam and breathes into his nostrils the breath of life and Man becomes a living soul. Then He "forms" a woman and calls her Eve. In this Bible (above), God had a home base, if you will, in what we now call Israel. But, when God said, "let there be light", He didn't just put light in Israel. He put light all over the world. Same with plants, trees, and animals. The same is true for "them" he "created". The Old Testament is a Jewish history book and the focus is on the descendants of Adam and Eve (specifically, Seth and his heirs down to Isaac and his 12 sons (the 12 tribes of Israel) and their journey with God through multiple generations.

    All I can say is, I read the holy bible, our lord's words. I love the it, I can feel it deep in my spirit, soul, body, mind. How wonderful that is and to just say how God has every hair numbered on our head, and he knows the number and when one hair falls out; [wow] we are the apple of his eye, I can say I need more of his word. God loves you all.

    @Gary Mixon,
    Genius, why don't you just take the word of God for what it is, pure and simply put. When you analyze it you are using man’s interpretation of what he thinks, and not the way it is written and supposed to be taken. Also, we, the simple, may take the bible because we believe, but you Sir, are the hopeless, and need to come back to God. He still loves you and forgives you.
  • Robert on Genesis 2 - 12 years ago
    The first and second chapters of Genesis gave a brief explanation of creation. It’s fascinating how God gives such a cryptic account of the world’s beginning and then the creation of man. What a marvelous act and how can we really understand the full significances of creation and what it meant with such little information. Genesis 1:7 says, “And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.” A number of people believe that an envelope of water was formed around the world which formed a condition similar to a hot house that allowed an even temperature throughout the new world. Not only did water exist on the earth but additional envelope of water circled the planet. As far as I know there is no hard proof that supports this theory but sounds plausible to me. Another interesting passage is Genesis 2:7, “And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” The idea that God stooped down and actually formed man from dust and then breathed into him to give life is mind boggling. Truly the work of creation is marvelous and wondrous.

    The problem, is that most of you (respondents) re-quote and come with a pre supposition that is not inclined to exegesis, anthropology, and ancient near east history. And therefore I am dismayed to the responses. To most scholars - we turmoil of the translation of Hebrew. The known errors from Hebrew to Greek are numerous at best, let alone the translations to the Septuagint (Latin), which become astronomical. The fact remains that ONE POSSIBILITY OF TRANSLATION of the above text is a plethora or numerous [gods]. It's like the many mysteries of the Torah, law and prophets. One other being, the Yam Suf, or fresh water reeds crossing, Jacob’s ladder, etc. Believing and enforcing dogma, breeds criticism to violent ends, mostly due the fact that the ignorant choose not to learn or study, but to believe and vehemently enforce a dogma. So very sad, that laymen have an opinion of any subject due to lack of empirical or critical experience. I can go on and on here with facts.... but why bother?

    Make of these what you will: I hope you find your way. Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father) full of grace and truth. John 10:30 I and my Father are one. 1 John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

    Where there is water there is life, and the water was created when God created “the heavens and earth” so, it always was, that is the tree of life, the essence of Christ!

    It is very hard for me to understand, was the water frozen? Was all the earth cool, it was without form.
