    Miyelani,

Your question, was sin there before the earth was created? Just to add a little to brother Earl's reply.

We know by the book of Job angels were created before for this earth ( Job 38:7). God asked Job these questions; "Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?" "Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth?" ( Job 38)

We know God's plan was before this world, which includes the lake of fire and who this lake of fire was prepared for. ( Matthew 25:41) We are told one purpose the Son of God was manifested. ( 1John 3:8)

All of God's mysteries have not been revealed, things behind the scenes, things that are not in our Bible. If "there" in your question, is on earth the answer is no. Scripture does not tell us precisely when Satan sinned (rebelled).

Genesis 1:31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

    Thank you for that.

Yes; the most important thing to know is Him! It is vital that we do not get caught up with the small details and ignore the large ones, which we often do.

    Shelia.

There's no extra merit whether you use Yahweh, Jehovah, or God.

There is value and virtue knowing the meaning for each name given,

but if we want to place merit on how we pronounce it. There's no vowels in the Hebrew name, so Yahweh would also be incorrect.

Exodus 6:3. And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, ( EL SHADDAY ) but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.

Abraham actually called God Jehovah numerous times, as did Isaac and Jacob. The point being made to Moses, in Exodus 6:2, isn't that the Patriarchs didn't know the name Jehovah, obviously they did. But that name was being given a new significance now as the covenant name of God with Israel.

I think what's most important is do we know him.

    God bless

God is not a name it's a title he gave his name to Moses at the burning bush we must first know his name (YAHWEH) in order to call upon him the apostle Paul says in 1corithans 8:5 there are lords many and gods so we must investigate for ourselves his true name

Brother Victor, may CHRIST IN US grace us with HIS wisdom and HIS understanding.

EVERYTHING from Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22:21 has HIDDEN in it TRUTH of SPIRIT.

The Spirit of God wrote these words; therefore, the WORDS ARE SPIRIT.

MOST only see them as thing that are natural, never growing to maturity in God's word.

YES, definitely Genesis 1:6-8 has a hidden meaning that is SPIRIT.

Revelation 17:15 And he saith unto me, The waters which though sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.

    These are waters under heaven.

Colossians 1:27 ...this mystery, CHRIST IN YOU...

These are the waters above the heaven.

1 Corinthians 15:38 But God hath given it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body.

1 Corinthians 15:40 There are also celestial bodies (above heaven), and bodies terrestrial (below heaven, earth): but the GLORY of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.

Yes here we can see the One God clearly as head , sending the Spirit and speaking the Word .

The One God and father of All , the Spirit of God and the Word of God are sourced out by GOD himself who is in total control by using them to create and do His sole will and purpose .

    It's not 3 it's One GOD , simply explained to a degree .

All blessings to the true God ! Amen .

Can you please explain separation of water from waters in Genesis 1:6-8? Thanks. Has it anything to do with the water of life, or the Holy Spirit?
  • Simple truth on Genesis 1 - 3 years ago
Verse 1 In the Beginning God

Verse 2 Spirit of God moved

verse 3 The word of God

    Can you see the difference?

The Spirit and word came from the source God .

    God initiated it .

I know many may not understand, but this is how God himself creates .

He alone decides and then creates , through his word and spirit .

The Spirit and word are sent by God and are of God . But God by himself wills it to be done by his purposes and pleasure. None can resist his will . Getting to know him is so amazing . But you have to get through all the lies that have been set for years . Thank God for the Bible !

    JENNIFER GAUTREAUX on Genesis 1:1

Giants have been around since time began; they are first described in the Bible in the book of Genesis (6:1-4)

In Deuteronomy 3:11, and later in the book of Numbers and Joshua, Og is called the last of the Rephaim. Rephaim is a Hebrew word for giants.

In 1 Enoch, they were "great giants, whose height was three thousand ells". An Ell being 18 inches (45 centimetres), this would make them 4500 feet (nearly a mile) tall (1350 metres).

The Book of Giants is similar, and most closely relates, to 1 Enoch 7:3-6, a passage which sheds light on the characterizing features of the giants. It reveals that the giants were born of the Watcher 'sons of God' and the 'daughters of men.

    Hi Tod.

I second what Brother Adam has said,

There is no excuse for slavery. but Romans 13. has nothing to do with slavery.

The Government is not perfect and neither are we, but they are ordained to keep law and order.

Romans 13:4. For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

Those in office have the same struggle in the flesh as we,

And we "ALL" know right from wrong.

John 1:9. That was the true Light, which lighteth "EVERY MAN" that cometh into the world.

It has always been like that and always will be until the prince of peace come.

    God bless.

I think there is room for both literal and spiritual paths that lead us to salvation. In this situation, you can't have one without the other. Praying to God for wisdom and discernment of heart is of the greatest value. Thanks for your guidance.

    Part 5. New birth.

    Romans 6:4-18.

Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

For he that is dead is freed from sin.

Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:

Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.

For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.

"Likewise ( RECKON ) ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord."

HERE THE WORD RECKON CAN BE TRANSLATED RECOGNIZE.

Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.

Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

Here I leave off at verse 18 for today, I will pick up verses 19-23 on through Romans 7 on a later date.

The struggle and victory over sin in the new birth.

    until then God bless.

    Part 4. WHY THE LAW.

We often like to look at salvation as our sins forgiven, and rightfully so. But it may be better understood and appreciated if we look at it as our sins being payed for by the shed blood on the cross. "The sacrificial lamb" life for life!

THE GIFT OF LIFE IS FREE BECAUSE THE DEBT WAS PAID WITH THE CRUCIFIXION OF OUR LORD.

Galatians 3:19-29. Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.

Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one.

Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law.

But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.

But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.

Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Now how do live our life?

    ROM 6.

What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

    Part 3.

Note: This discussion is open for improvement as I am no scholar.

Just because one is dogmatic about a view, it does not make him right.

Just rightly trying to divide the word.

    Mathew 5:13-18.

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Part of the law was the ceremonial law and Jesus was the sacrifice for the sins of the world,

But he had to keep the law to be declared that perfect lamb that take away the sins of the world.

Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: Gal. 3:13.

By this he was able to make over to us "his righteousness".

    Colossians 2:13-19.

    And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;

    Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:

Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,

""( And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.)""

    So why the law?

    see part 4.

Your comment sounds like an attack on Christians who believe the Bible. Why do you post such a thing on a Bible website and what is your goal? To unite or divide?

Christians believe Jesus is God because the Bible clearly says He's God. Is that reason enough? John 1:1 flat out says it. So, so all the scriptures below that even children read and understand. It needs no creative interpreting, needs no progressive pastor to interpret, just literally what it says. Jesus being God doesn't mean He's God the Father, but God the Son. God became a man and died for you, do you believe Him?

Claiming that Christians who read the scriptures and believe are somehow just 'Americans' or 'Catholics' seems like a disingenuous attack on Christians. Labeling and dividing and lying is what I've seen done to make such anti-Christ arguments. Anyone who does this is on extremely dangerous ground. Anyone who tries to spread anti-Christ lies should be ashamed of themselves.

    1 John 2:22-24

"Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also. Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father."

Sister Martha, may CHRIST IN US grace us with HIS wisdom and HIS understanding.

Israel in the Old Testament was dispersed among all the nation of the world. Judea was left so Jesus lineage could be confirmed to be the natural seed of David. Today none can trace their lineage back to Abraham. ISRAEL today (those born again of the Spirit of God) is the promised SEED of Isaac (his name was changed to Israel) (CHRIST IN US).

Romans 2:29 But he is a Jew, which is one INWARDLY (Christ in you); and circumcision is of the HEART, in the Spirit, and not in the letter (flesh) .....

Romans 9:6 ...for they are not all Israel, which are of Israel.

The kingdom promised to ISRAEL (CHRIST) is not a literal kingdom that can be seen with eyes; but a kingdom of priest (Christ in you). These battles prophesied in scripture are not literal but in the Spirit.

Jesus said before he comes there would be literal wars, literal earthquakes, literal famines and literal pestilence. This has been happening for 2000 years and Jesus has been COMING to those who look for him 2000 years. Jesus said that it would be like the days of Noah. They knew not till the doors on the ark were CLOSED. The ark could have saved them; Jesus is our ark. Man is looking for all things to be literal and all of a sudden DESTRUCTION (you die; the grave is your reward, the doors to the ark are closed). Most will miss Christ coming; because they are looking for something literal, when the BATTLE and BIRTH are SPIRIT. There will continue literal wars, literal earthquakes, literal famines and literal pestilence until the age we are in ENDS and the next age BEGINS.

Hebrews 9:28 So Christ was ONCE (Christ ministered in the flesh) offered to bear the sins of many; and unto those WHO LOOK FOR HIM he shall appear the SECOND TIME (IN THE SPIRIT) without sin UNTO SALVATION.

I come like a thief in the night; if you would have seen the thief, he would not have DESTROYED you house.

    Sacha,

I would believe your testimony, however Mary was impregnated by the Holy Ghost, making Jesus God.

If what you say is true, then Jesus should be mocked for being a straw man. How can you fully respect someone who is a fraud, someone who was handed everything? That could have been me, or anyone God picked to play Messiah. Whatever the case, lets just get on with it till it's over.
  • Seth Graham on Genesis 1:1 - 3 years ago
    Ricky,

You could be right, but Jesus said this of the end-times:

    ( Matthew 24:34)

32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:

33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors (day of the Lord).

34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

    ( Revelation 8:13)

13 And I beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound!

The last 3 trumpets happen close to each other for a reason, and are separated from the 1st 4 trumpets. It is more feasible to count the tribulation and great tribulation (3.5 years) equal to a 40 year generation that will not pass till these things are accomplished.

    God bless

    Chris,

You mentioned the flood. According to the dates of generations listed below, the flood was about 4,369 years ago. Does this list agree with your thinking, creation...in the ball park?

    Jared became the father of Enoch at 162. Genesis 5:18 460 + 162 = 622

    Enoch became the father of Methuselah at 65. Genesis 5:21 622 + 65 = 687

    Methuselah became the father of Lamech at 187. Genesis 5:25 687 + 187 = 874

    Lamech became the father of Noah at 182. Genesis 5:28 874 + 182 = 1056

    The Flood started when Noah was 600. Genesis 7:6 1056 + 600 = 1656

Calculated BC date for creation: 4004

Calculated AM date for the Flood: -1656

Calculated BC date for the Flood: 2348

    Current Year (minus one): +2021

Number of years since beginning of Flood: 4369

40 years? A Generation today is 20 years, but back then it was hundreds of years. How old was Adam and Eve when they had Seth? (And remember, they had OTHER sons and daughters AFTER Seth)...You must consider all things when considering history from a Biblical (correct) viewpoint.

Matthew 20:28. Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

Matthew 28:19-20. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

JESUS COMMANDED HIS DISCIPLES TO GO OUT AND SHARE THE GOSPEL, AND THEY DID!

IT WAS IMPORTANT ENOUGH FOR THEM TO DIE FOR.

Today it is the least interesting topic of scripture.

John 3:14-16. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 10:9. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Acts 16:30-31. And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

    1 Corinthians 15:3-4. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

John 12:24 . Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.

John 10:1. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.

Let us not treat the gospel like a history book,

And Let's understand the necessity of it.

    God bless

Verses to consider when debating a viewpoint. whether it does any good to a non believer or deceived believer or perhaps a minister of satan.

1 corinthians 2:7-14. but we speak the wisdom of god in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which god ordained before the world unto our glory:

which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the lord of glory.

but as it is written, eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which god hath prepared for them that love him.

but god hath revealed them unto us by his spirit: for the spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of god.

for what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of god knoweth no man, but the spirit of god.

(""now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of god; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of god."")

which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, ""but which the holy ghost teacheth;"" comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

( but the natural man receiveth not the things of the spirit of god: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned ).

now sure if a person is truly saved the light of scripture will reveal certain fundamentals of the faith,

but when he's in his natural state or as the natural man you might want to set aside viewpoints and consider giving him the gospel to see where is he at with his salvation doctrine and see what's hindering his spiritual growth.

ask questions, he should be glad to tell you the hope that is within him.

and if his un regenerated heart is not deceiving him, he will certainly believe in certain fundamentals such as saved by grace alone, the virgin birth and the deity of jesus christ. ect..

the gospel that saves should be our first priority.

    god bless.
