I use to believe the Roman Catholic teaching of consciousness after death. Like you are not really dead, but go to Heaven, Hell or Purgatory. (And there if in Hell, burn eternally, with no hope of an end).

However, since then I have read in God's Word that this is not so. In John 11:11-14, Jesus tell His apostles that Lazarus is sleeping, but Jesus goes to wake him up. Finally, Jesus tells His apostles that Lazarus is dead. Also, see 1

Thessalonians 4:15-17. And, John 5:28-29. See, Genus 2:7. Ecclesiastes 12:7. Importantly, Psalms 146:3-4. Again, "Who Only Has Immortality? See, 1 Timothy 6:16. And those who SEEK, Romans 2:7. In 1 Corinthians 15:51-54 we learn.... Knowing what God's Word really says is priceless, see, Psalms 115:17, "The dead praise NOT the LORD, neither any that go down into silence." Must read, Ecclesiae's 9:5,6, 10. 5."For the living know that they shall die; but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of then is forgotten. 6. Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun. 10. Whatsoever thy hand findet to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goes." NOTE: 2 Timothy 3:16, "ALL Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:" There is more, but I think by now you get the idea.... God bless you as you prayerfully Study the above....

I came to Christ through fear. I grew up in the church but never knew Jesus. I always believed in God, but was never saved. When I was around 35, I was working in construction and traveled for work. Hard 10 hour days of labor, and relaxing evenings in a hotel room was my life. Since there was rarely anything on tv worth watching I FINALLY decided to get a laptop. At least then I could youtube it up. Being curious and interested in the paranormal, I'd watch a lot of videos on ghosts, demons and angels caught on tape. Then I came across vids of people claiming they died went to hell and came back. And it got me thinking...am I SURE I'm going to heaven? Those descriptions of hell, combined with my very vivid imagination began to worry me...then terrify me. Then one evening in my hotel room it finally got the better of me and I called my mom and stepdad who are very spiritual. We talked for 20 minutes about Jesus, or the bible...or something along those lines because I cant remember a single thing from that conversation. But whatever they said...it worked. I was in tears when I got off the phone. Then I stood up from the bed, hit my knees and started bawling my eyes out and kept repeating over and over the words "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry". For about half an hour this is all i could do. And I felt this weight on me, as if I couldn't get low enough to the floor even though I tried. When it was over, I felt like I was 50 lbs lighter. I washed my face, went to bed, and continued to live my life. I didn't know I was saved. Over the next few days I began to notice the changes. When I would curse, it felt horrible like nails on a chalkboard in my soul. Food tasted different as if it were just for sustenance and not something I could enjoy. Which oddly enough was kind of a relief. I called my parents and explained what was happening and my mom said with great excitement "OH OH I think you've been saved! To whomever reads this, I hope you get something out of it. God bless.

  • The TWO COVENANTS - In Reply on Genesis 1 - 3 years ago
To establish the New Covenant that had better promises.

To take authority away from Satan that he gained by the fall, of Adam and Eve.

    Genesis 3:15. Prophesy

And I will put enmity between thee (Satan) and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it (Jesus) shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

Satan is brain damaged. If he had believed that prophesy, he would NOT have stirred up the Chief Priests and Pharisees, to have Jesus crucified on the Cross. He was simply enjoying the suffering of the Son of God. He knew Jesus was the Son, when He tempted Jesus (Jesus fasted 40 days and nights in the desert).

He truly believed that when Jesus died and was put into the tomb, that he had seen the last of Jesus: the dead Son of God. That is the part of the Prophesy where God says Satan would bruise Jesus's heel.

Satan didn't know Jesus would be Resurrected. If he did, he wouldn't have let It happen.

Jesus ratified THE NEW COVENANT, with His own sinless, holy BLOOD. Inside the Temple, when Jesus died, THE VEIL was torn down the middle: Top to Bottom. No human could've done that because the veil was massive in size. That was Jesus saying, THE OLD COVENANT is FINISHED. COMPLETED.

The NEW COVENANT is now IN FORCE

Imagine Satan realizing what had happened. He had been stripped of all his power and AUTHORITY. He no longer had permission to trouble mankind; cause deaths. Hold people's souls in prison. First thing Jesus did was go down to hell and set all the prisoners FREE.

When we accept Jesus to be our own Personal, LORD and SAVIOR: we pass from the sentence of death, into ETERNAL LIFE. We worship Jesus for accomplishing that on our behalf. We can never be good enough to EARN it.

That's why we sing, NOTHING BUT THE BLOOD OF JESUS, in church, at home, in the car, in front of our kids, everywhere!

If you haven't done it yet, give your life to Jesus: and He will give His Life to you! Forever.

my 16-year-old grandson was just murdered by his mother and his uncle and friends. Devastating and tragic was watching my son go into my grandsons mom's home and identify the body. There was a court order that the mother of my grandson (a heroin addict) keep away from my grandson. Along with about 10 people to 12 people in this drug house including the owner. My grandson came to me at 2 AM Monday evening, at least I heard him come in and I kept hearing something in his room. My grandson stays with me on weekends. For the reason his friends are nearby and he works at a restaurant bussing tables. and he has his own room and freedom. My son said that my grandson had the look of terror on his face like he did not want pass on just yet. My son said he had the look of fear. The mother the uncle and all the friends gave him drugs----- fentanyl---- very powerful opiate. Then for 16 hours they cleaned up all the paraphernalia and took down the cameras. And then they all made excuses and ran like rats and rodents. Not one of them came to the funeral service or gave the family their condolences out of guilt. So I pray to God and I received the answer. I'm a published author of six books and planning on making a Hollywood movie from the book I'm now writing for my grandson. Be nice yourself because you're worth it and I'm proud of you for reading these words. No worry no stress that is a moment of happiness you will not get back. Not one omen owed to God shall go unpaid. I read Bible Scripture daily and nowhere in the Bible have I read to forgive or pray for the devil. Evil must be exposed for what it is. no to fathers should have to go through this especially my only son and my only grandson and my son's only son.Thank you God bless with love and prayers

    Hello S Spencer.

Thank you for your insightful comments. I enjoyed reading them. Quite accurate.

Many who quote Matthew 5:17-19 fail to notice an important point, namely, Jesus said, "till all be fulfilled".

Matthew 5:18 "For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled."

The Mosaic Law was fulfilled in Jesus Christ once he died and was resurrected. His death put to death the Mosaic Law as recorded at:

Colossians 2:14-16: "Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days."

Romans 7:6 "But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter."

Romans 10:4 "For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth."

Many who quote Matthew 5:17-19 often do not notice what Jesus said in the parallel account at:

Luke 16:16 "The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it."

There, Jesus said further that the law, that is, the Mosaic Law, was UNTIL John. After John, it would be the New Covenant that was inaugurated by Jesus' shed blood. (See Luke 22:20.)

Thus, 1 John 5:2, 3 and all other verses in the New Testament (Romans to Revelation), referring to God's commandments, does not refer to the 10 commandments nor the Mosaic Law commandments but only to the laws of the New Covenant (Romans to Revelation). In that New Testament Law, no instruction is ever made to keep the Sabbath Day or to circumcise all males, etc.

I share these thoughts with you and hope you enjoy them.
  • S Spencer - In Reply on Genesis 1 - 3 years ago
    Another from Chris.

Thank you Michael for that clear & concise response. If the foundations of biblical teaching or doctrine are not properly laid, the building cracks will develop & bring destruction. I find that many Christians, whether because of Church teaching or from their own surmisings, look at Scriptures such as John 14:15 & immediately apply the obedience to the Law for all people, that which was given only to Israel.

To do so, several things have to be overlooked or rejected: to whom was God speaking in the OT & to whom was Jesus speaking prior to His crucifixion? Only to Israel, none else. Gentiles weren't even in the picture pertaining to the Law & never have been. What was the reason for giving the Law? God's code of conduct (spiritual, moral & social) for His people, His Mark of separation from the heathen - Leviticus 26:46, (as also with circumcision: Genesis 17:10), & to demonstrate to Israel a godly standard that as sinners they could never fully obey ( Galatians 3:21-26).

But then we get verses such as Matthew 5:17-19 which are often used to support the eternal nature & applicability of the Law to all people. To those under the Law, indeed, the Law is current & will be used against them. To those who have escaped the curse of the Law & have found new life in Christ, have learned that Christ has indeed fulfilled all the Law, forever abrogating it & thru His Death ushered in a new & better Covenant ( Hebrews 8:6-13).

What then do we do with Scriptures (e.g. 1 John 5:2,3) that say we must obey God's commandments? Are John & others pointing the believer back to the letter of the Law that kills or rather to the Spirit Who gives life ( 2 Corinthians 3:6)? It is the Spirit's Law in our hearts that frees us from the Law of sin & death ( Romans 8:2). To give consent to both, that which is opposed to each other, weakens (even negates) the power of the New Covenant through Christ's Blood & the keeping of the Sabbath ever stands as a centrepiece to

Hi Johnny How about I paste a reply from Michael on a similar topic. I think you will find your answer here.

Jesus himself was born under the Mosaic Law and, therefore, was required to keep the Mosaic Law. That is why he was circumcised on the eight day as per the Mosaic Law. Notice that in the following verse. Jesus was made (or born) under the law - the Mosaic Law.

Galatians 4:4 "But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,"

As long as that Mosaic Law was in force, the Mosaic Law (the so-called Old Testament) was in force. Jesus therefore kept his Father's commandments of that Mosaic Law. But, the Holy Scriptures has said that God would set up a New Covenant that would not be like the Old Covenant. Notice...

Jeremiah 31:31 "Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:" "Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:"

It was not the Apostle Paul who changed God's Law to his people - it was God himself as per Jeremiah 31:31. However, the Apostle Paul, writing under inspiration of God, gave the first-century Church the new directives or laws governing that New Covenant. He never instructed the Christian Churches of the first-century to keep the Mosaic Law such as circumcision or the sabbaths. In fact, he instructed them the complete opposite. Notice again...

Colossians 2:16 "Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:"

You cannot judge a Christian for not keeping the sabbath days - as per the New Covenant that has been set up between God and his present-day people - the Church of God.

I welcome your further thoughts, Dan. Good day.

Do we today have to fallow the laws and commandments of the old testament?
  • S Spencer - In Reply on Genesis 1 - 3 years ago
    Hi Johnny.

The answer to Your question is,

    The Church.

1 Peter 2:9 (KJV) But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.

When God called Abraham out of his father's land into a land flowing with milk and honey the whole world was in spiritual fornication , There wasn't a Holy nation.

Isn't it amazing how people fight to be the Hebrew as if that carried so merit today.

They're brought into the family of God by the blood of Christ as well as us.

Wow that post must be a year old. I used to cut Benny a lot of slack because after I was saved out of the occult (1985), I had so much warfare. I was fearful to sleep, so I got really sick. I needed to get milk for the kids so the Lord got me in the car. To shorten the story: I bought 2 books I couldn't afford and get milk. One book was 1.00 and the other 2.00; milk 1.85 :D

I had need of knowing what was going on in my home. It was full of demons. I got back in bed and read Bennys book. I realized what my problems were! Then I read part of Angels by Charles Capps. I got out of bed and exercised my baby christian faith; ordered the demons to leave! And asked for angels to guard the 4 corners of my house. Then, I was able to sleep!

I know what people say about Benny Hinn, but his book saved my life. I've only heard Jeff Fenholt testify demons levitated his bed too; when he was sleeping in it. I'm leaving out the other details. Too scary.

Also, I know Benny teaches a form of Old Earth theory, concerning satan, demons, etc. I do not support that theory at all.

They must obey the Authority of Jesus Name. I only study a King James Version Bible and a Strongs Concordance.

I asked the Lord about the Old Age Theory. The Holy Spirit took me to Genesis 1:1. If God wanted us to LEARN pre-Adamic happenings, God would've included a Book in the Bible. It was omitted because the entire Bible focuses on one person: Jesus. His genealogy, birth, life, death and resurrection; the Book of Revelation.

Genesis 1:1 blows Old Age Theory out of sight when God SET TIME IN MOTION. In beginning...

(In Hebrew language there is no "The".

The first verse explains the 4 unanswered questions scientists have tried to explain throughout mans history: Time, Force, Action, Matter.

I'm sorry, but I do not dig in Christian books. I only use the Bible. I learned to read it slow to find the answers.

Good afternoon, I know that God is so very vast and bigger than anything that we could ever imagine. The world would not be able to hold the books that details all of who God is and what he does. I believe that as we ready and pray, he reveals in us those things that he wants us to know. If God had everything written in books, some people would be confused just as some are today about things such as what to eat and how to dress.

The one True God, Yahweh is spelled with a capital G, not a lower case g. And furthermore, God exists is three persons as stated in 1 John 5:7 quotes, "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one."

Genesis 1:26, "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth."

Notice how the Triune God is mentioned several times by references plural pronouns such as us and our; describing the Trijne Godhead.

Mark 12:36-37 quotes, "For David himself said by the Holy Ghost, The LORD said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool. David therefore himself calleth him Lord; and whence is he then his son? And the common people heard him gladly."

John 1-5 quotes, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

John 1:14 quotes, "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."

John 19:30 quotes, "When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost."

John 15:26-27 quotes, "But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning."

The Father, Yahweh is God, Jesus is God, and the Holy Spirit is God. They are the same person.

The bloodline of Jesus, came to Bethlehem through Jacob. Not Esau.

Do you know that God is there when we were in the womb? I believe that Isaiah and Ezekiel were called to be prophets, in their mothers wombs.

Genesis 1:1 shows that God is not constrained by the Creation of Time (in beginning...)

He is the Alpha and the Omega: the beginning of time and, the End of Time.

He's God. He sees everything. He does not violate our free will to choose what we do.

    Dear Leon,

Looks like you've had people replying and offering fake news. I'm sorry you had to receive that. Their positions are mostly based on a human logical fallacy, for example: "Jesus is the son of God, therefore in my limited human mind, Jesus can't be God, despite the many verses saying He is": Link

Also, the name "God" can refer to God the Father or God the trinity. The trinity is clearly explained in the Bible: Link - God is plural in many cases and uses the pronoun "we": Genesis 1:26.

Others spread anti-Christian propaganda that the trinity is somehow polytheism, which is another hateful attack based on a lie. Just because someone has a hard time comprehending how they are "one" ( John 10:30) doesn't mean 'more than one'. It clearly says they are one God. That's like someone assuming the skin of an orange, the pulp, and seeds are 3 oranges.

So, once someone reads the Word they can choose to either believe it or not. Those who don't want to believe the trinity have to perform mental gymnastics to try to discredit the book, the author, the context, the intent, the Greek, etc. It's the same old trick and most of us don't buy into it.

We will believe God's Word over man's words any day. We believe the Word is God's truth and when we read literally that Jesus is the Word and John 1:1 - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God" then we have faith and believe it says exactly what it means, without anyone trying to be cute and deceive otherwise. We will lovingly call out fake news, propaganda, and false prophets everytime we see it.

Please ignore anyone trying to undermine what the Bible says and trying to discredit Jesus. Anyone trying to do that should be ashamed of themselves and should beware of doing the devil's work.

    God bless...

Genesis 1:2 - Darkness , without form, void; A simplistic view of a simple man.

Seems clear that God has no darkness in Him, everything is laid bare in His presence. Everything is created during the light of day for God has no darkness in Him and all darkness flees in His presence. It's conceivable that the earth and heaven were created in the light of God's presence without giving it light. Darkness is not chaos. Being void is not chaos, being without form is not chaos.

The earth was made to be inhabited therefore the soil had to be very fertile yet the earth was covered in deep water. Man was made from the dust or dried out fertile earth, the good stuff. Fertile earth under water is mud, mud is formless until taken out of water and most of the water is removed to the point of a potters delight to give it form. Before the Spirit of God is in the nostrils of man it is void of life.

The firmament does not yet divide the waters from the waters so it is not just the waters of earth that the Spirit of God is moving over but all of the water's depth of the earth and heaven.

Man was without sin when created and the earth was not cursed until Adam listened to his wife and sinned. Adam was not deceived by the serpent and is why Adam sinned like no other man. Adam may have been tempted by the serpent but did not sin as a result just like Jesus, temped by the serpent but did not sin, Jesus is the last Adam, Jesus came back for His bride who was deceived by the serpent.

God cursed the earth after Adam sinned for the benefit of man therefore why would God allow, or destroy it Himself, the earth for any other reason prior to man's sin?

Darkness is the darkness of darkness for it is the condition without the light of God and is the darkness the ungodly will be cast into at the appointed time. God leaves this world behind with the new earth, the old earth has passed away along with the ungodly and back to its original darkness before God put the knowledge of His creation in Hi

The event that took out the dinosaurs was the Worldwide flood. A flood has a pecking order of how it would lay out the fossils. The pecking order is:

    1) Because aquatic life already live in the water, they would not be drowning during the flood, right? So they would get buried in the sediments in the order they lived top to bottom. That order is:

    a) Bottom dwellers first.

    b) Mid dwellers second.

    c) Top dwellers last.

And that's the order we see in the Bottom half of the fossil record. Google the fossil record image and see for yourself.

    2) Because aquatic life and land life did not live together, there should be a visible separation point in the fossil record. And there is, right in the middle. Where the aquatic life fades and land life appears and continues. The problem with aquatic life fading and land life increasing is that there is 230,000 known aquatic life species. And what's left in the last time era is what's available to evolve in the next time era. The problem is that in the time era before what is now, there were hardly any aquatic life to speak of. Almost nothing to 230,000 species?

    3) But there is not enough water on the earth to flood it to the highest mountain. Yes their is. Recently they found that the upper mantle of the earth contains water. oceans worth of water. Go to youtube and search: Oceans inside the earth. They also found that water has a 4th type of existence, instead of just 3 (solid liquid gas). And that forth phase of existence only exists in the upper mantle. I'd leave links but that's not allowed.

    4) And because the earth does not have a solid core, that much water being on the surface would make the earth shrink making the pangea a real event before the flood.

    5) The earth was flooded twice? Dry land did not appear until day 3 in creation: Genesis 1:And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.

Hi Isaac, I agree with your first comment on God's sixth day of creation. However, from there when you wrote "Then on day seven, he (man) is created again", I don't see it that way. Genesis chapter 2 speaks of God resting from all His Work & He blessed & sanctified that seventh day of rest. So there was no further creating, as God had accomplished all His planned creative Work on the six days.

Genesis 2:4 onwards then describes what God had done & how He made man (in Genesis 1:1-31). We're not told how He made man in chapter 1, only that He created man & woman. Then chapter 2 details how this was done, introducing this man Adam (made from dust) & Eve, who was 'take out of man', Adam. This is the way I understand these two chapters.

I know there are other interpretations of this, similar to what you shared. However, I don't see any reference to a second creation of mankind. If this were so, we would have to ask, 'what happened to that other creation, as there is no mention of them?' And if there was another creation, did they also sin as Adam & Eve did, or were they sinless? Could there be some sinless tribe or nation also living among us? It would be strange that the Bible would be very quiet on this other creation. Does Jesus' sacrifice also include them - but then again, they would never know about it, & the apostles were never alerted to this 'fact' by the Lord? Or, maybe when Cain left for the land of Nod, his sinful nature (from his parents) also infected this other creation. The possibilities are endless, but without scriptural support. It's best to stick with what is revealed to us in the Word & just admit ignorance where what we seek is not revealed.
