Also you can not read into the scriptures something it's not saying . Often when scriptures are silent or vague it's because it's not really essential to know . Forcing the word to say something it's clearly not is called reading into the scriptures and it's sinful to do that because then it would be adding to the word of God . Revelation warns about adding and taking away from the word .
Read Luke 1
Genesis 1:26
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
When (in Genesis) God have Adam orders as what he was to do: he gave Adam dominion over Everything on earth EXCEPT dominion over other humankind.
People do not have dominion for any reason, over other people. Be it because of color, rich and poor, smart or humble, etc. God wanted diversity in all of His creation. Can the clay demand of the Potter: why have you made me thus so?
Sin entered into mankind because of Adam and Eve. The descendants separated people based on diversities; and misery entered in. Skip forward to Nimrod who hated God and desired a tower so He could shoot arrows at Him.
The Godhead decides to confuse people's language from one to many. The people moved away and built cities where they could speak and understand their own language. But, we are still carrying sin with us.
In the process of time, rulers again separate people according to their Status. The DUST separates itself into Colors. Again, it's the curse of sin that did this. The colors separated into their own kingdoms. History and archaeology show that people dispersed all over earth to have their own kingdoms, languages and cultures. Sin went with us from the garden of Eden until even now.
Jesus came to earth so that we could all be ONE in Him. We have to be born again in order to experience that Oneness. God doesn't see us in our man made diversities. He sees saved and unsaved.
All this pain we feel every day will be over; when the Kingdom of God comes down to earth. We need to trust the Creator that He knows where we're all going. We will live in His Perfect Will, as it was always intended. No more tears or sorrow. No sin; just JOY. Every day.
Mishael
It may be that the book of Genesis is discussed every day on this web site is because people care about and are curious of the topics that are covered.
The first mention of the Messiah (Jesus, our Lord and Savior) is in Genesis 3:15, and contains the main reason why He was sent; to defeat death which is the Devil.
God did write a book explaining creation, it can be found in Genesis. It is our choice to believe it or not. What I can say for certain is that the Bible is not at odds with Archaeology. Nor is the Bible at odds with science; those issues are left for man, and usually come up between believers and non-believers. The book of Genesis and the Bible as a whole, reinforces Archaeology as well as all the rules of science.
There is no problem to anybody if YOU want to wait until you get to heaven to find out the things you are less interested in concerning Scripture. But why should you care if someone wants to talk about creation?
If the main topic you are concerned with is being born again, that topic is also discussed every day on this web site without any issue.
It seems as though a few of the "regulars" on this site feel the need to monitor and police the various comments; and then offer their righteous evaluation of other peoples' misinterpretations.
We all have a right to comment without condemnation....
'sorta like sin'
Interesting thoughts on the days of creation.
Many believe that the light that was upon the earth for the first three days of God's creative work was the light of God Himself. As the sun, moon, and stars, were not created by God until the fourth day.
Genesis has been discussed almost every day. Plenty of good reading available!!!
There are some scriptures that can be interpreted as Pre-Adamic. I think personally, that if The Godhead wanted to fully reveal Bible vs Archaeology plus science; God would have written a Book in the Bible about it. He didn't. We must accept His reasons.
The Entire Bible is about Jesus Christ: Beginning to the Ending. I CAN wait till I get to heaven to attend that class on the mysteries of creation to Revelation.
What does any of that have to do with someone being born again; trusting in Jesus to save their souls And take them to heaven??
The Gospel is about the Son of God. He is known as the Son of Man. That is who we are to Follow. Clearly, God loves all the sciences! He left plenty for us to discover and investigate; find and show to others. He made ALL of this. That's what Romans 1 is all about.
We are to rest in the LOVE of the Savior of mankind: believe in him, trust in him and be born again so we can go where He is. He knows you have questions. Learn patience and you will surely get all the answers to your questions.
In my personal experience, if I have a question: I ask the Holy Spirit and He answers them. It takes RELATIONSHIP to hear His Voice. I was dum as a sheep until I got completely wrapped up in the Holy Spirit. Every day, reading my Bible, being still before His Presence; and asking a million questions.... I fall deeper in love with Him every day!!
Do we fail and disappoint the people we live with (sorta like sin?) We have to apologize immediately so we can go on to other things without grudge bearing. Relationship goes through rocks sometimes. Climb over and get to the good stuff.

So if this culture you mentioned say that generations were born & died experiencing this phenomena, then the Bible would refute this account as being impossible as man did not exist at that time. But if you are of the belief that there was a separate creation of humankind prior to Adam & Eve (as some believe), then that would be speculation only without biblical or historical basis to back it up.
1 Corinthians 12:13(KJV)
"For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit."
The spiritual baptism is where when someone believes that Jesus Christ died on the cross, buried, "risen again the third day according to the scriptures."
Ephesians 1:13(KJV)
"[13] In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, [14] Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory."
Last but not least
1 Corinthians 15:1-4(KJV)
"[1] Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; [2] By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. [3] For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; [4]And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:"
Give God the glory not me.
Thank you for your various responses.
I believe you are correct as to the speaker being Jeremiah up until ( Jeremiah 4:26).
I was wondering, though, if you believe that this is a portrayal of Israel's future punishment, the devastation of this particular punishment of earth covered in water, and no light from heaven, has not come to pass. Is this yet still a future punishment awaiting Israel? If so, then what do we do with God's covenant to Noah in Genesis 9:8-17?
As to the three earth and heaven ages, have you considered 2 Peter chapter 3.
5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
I believe this is reference to the 1st earth and heaven age, which ended by being "overflowed with water," i.e., becoming "without form, and void."
7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
I understand this to be the 2nd heaven and earth age. Time present. From Genesis 1:2 on.
13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
I believe this is the 3rd heaven and earth age we are all looking forward to.
Heaven on earth ( Revelation 21:2)
Three heaven and earth ages; One heaven and one earth.
Concerning Satan, I would give reference to Job.
Satan I believe can be considered a "son of God," because he is referenced as being among them and with them to present himself to God in Job 1:6 and again in Job 2:1.
Satan is also included as being there with God when "the morning stars sang together and all the sons of God shouted for joy" ( Job 38:7) in reference to the creation of earth by God.
It seems as though Satan and the other angels may have been around before the creation of the earth itself.
Thanks,
EJL
