Hi Stan, this is just an idea, but meat was often used for sacrifices to the Lord- maybe the pleasing aroma was dedicated to Him during that time period. The flood occurred and wiped out all the wicked people then told Noah in Genesis 9:3 he can eat meat- maybe a privilege and a new way of starting over.

Verse 29 and 30 shows that we and all the animals ate herbs, fruit and veggies only, in the beginning. Why God changed it so we and some animals came to eat meat puzzles me. Why God?

Also, that the Word of God, is new every morning. It is the Living Word. Genesis 1:1 tells us "In the beginning GOD" . 1 John 1"In the beginning was the WORD, and the WORD was with GOD, and the Word was GOD. "

it is a very good book and has good teachings

The author of scripture is the Holy Spirit, the prophets recorded what they were moved to write.

Moses is one of the few people god had that followed him. he led Gods people through the wilderness.

Genesis is a most beautiful and simple way to be introduced to creation and the true power and glory of our Heavenly Father. Also a wonderful way to explain all there is to your children. How everything began.

The LORD is WONDERFUL!!! I look out every morning andsee the BEAUTIFUL things HE has created and I am so thankful for giving me life and another day to PRAISE HIM!!!

Do not show off to others-
Only God needs to know who we really are- for our heart shows who we are in Him...
We become closer to Jesus as our hearts
reach out to others first, before our selves...
The will of God will never take you- where the Grace of God will not protect you.
This shows me GOD is in complete control of me.

This morning is another day God let us have. With the day not yet promised. Get up. Put both hands up toward the Heavens-or get down on your knees, and thank God. For God is my strength when l feel so tired l do not want to move. He comforts me when l am sad or tried of how the enemy treats me. He protects me as l go into bad territory. I ask for His help when l do uncertain things. My God!

In Genesis 1:2 - I love how the awesome picture of the original state of the visible creation is relieved by the majestic announcement that the mighty Spirit of God hovers over creation. He was active in the creation, and His creative power continues today. In vs. 3 - Merely by speaking, God brought ALL things into being. There is no doublt we serve an awesome God!

The first thing God created was light and it was very good. This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.The light shines in the darkness, and darkness has not overcome it.

To Shane's first question, I've wondered that too. The answer to the light in the beginning comes from the Light in the end. The future new Jerusalem (heaven) Rev ch 21. Addressing light is v. 23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

Adam was the first man because Jesus is the second Adam. Sin entered the world through Adam's sin. Read Roman's 5 God calls the sun sun and moon moon.

I believe all that GOD says. Chapter 1 just makes it so plain and understandable. Male and Female and all creation was made opposite sex. There would be no you nor I if it were not male and female. God is who HE is and I am more than GLAD that HE is GOD...:)

I like this chapter. God created everything!

If we seek wisdom let us ask the FATHER who gives liberally. The meaning of this is ask GOD for the understanding before you read a chapter and then make sure to study the context. If you study a little closer you will find that yes their were men and women and angels and giants here before. Adam and Eve. Please take my advice and don’t try to dig in to the Bible so far that you get twisted up.

I have a few question I Hope someone with wisdom can answer. 1. Nowhere does God give the Sun the bane Sun or Moon the name moon. Where did those names come from? 2. It says God created man and woman and for them to "procreat" and fill the earth. Did He create people before Adam and Eve?

I think that this is a really good book of the bible and I´m glad that god did create the heavens and the earth. But what a really good book is, is John and Matthew.

what amazes me the most about this book is the ability of the holy spirit in showing moses things which happened long before he was and to know that the same spirit of power lives in me its the greatest feeling ever holy spirit l love your presence

In Genesis 1: 26-28 I'm taking these verses as God made these people knowing what was going to happen in the Garden of Eden. These people that God made never knew about the Garden of Eden either. Cain said that he would be killed by everyone. So if it's just Adam, Eve and Cain how could everyone kill him? The Garden of Eden was just for Adam and his family.
