We're not told what crops Isaac sowed in the land of the Philistines. From research, I find that the Philistines grew a variety of crops, some of which are still cultivated in Israel. And these include: sycamore, cumin, coriander, bay trees & opium poppy. The fact that Isaac was able to produce such a great harvest in spite of the extensive famine there, was nothing short of the Hand of God & enabling Isaac to find water deep beneath the ground surface. ( Genesis 26:18-22).

Regarding John 7:38: "He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water."

The question is answered in the next verse. John 7:39: "(But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)"

The illustration is of the Holy Ghost like a fountain of water gushing up from within the believer, giving all that pertains to the life more abundant, to testify to the glory of Jesus Christ.

In Genesis 16, the angel of the LORD found Hagar by a fountain of water in the wilderness which she then called Beerlahairoi (well of the Living One seeing me).

Later in Genesis 26:19 Isaac's servants digged in the valley, and found there a well of springing water (also called living water as opposed to a well that needed to be drawn from by hand).

In Exodus 17, the LORD told Moses to smite the rock so that water would flow out to quench the thirst of the complaining Israelites. This is a foreshadowing of Jesus Christ.

The LORD had a controversy with his people in Jeremiah 2:13, "For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water."

Bible book Song of Solomon 5:10 - My beloved is WHITE white and ruddy, the chiefest among ten thousand.

Bible book Lamentations 4:7 - Her Nazarites were purer than snow, they were WHITER whiter than milk, they were more ruddy in body than rubies, their polishing was of sapphire:

Revelation 1:14 - His (Jesus) HEAD and his hairs were WHITE white like wool, as WHITE white as SNOW; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; 15 And his feet like unto fine brass,

(Brass is made of copper which is REDDISH GOLDEN BROWN, not black) as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.

Who generally printed the Bibles and built all the churches?

    Sub Sahara Africa? NO

    Asia? NOT until recently

Europe and the USA = Yes

Many "black Hebrews" claim whites are the children of the devil via Esau and the Canaanites via the Hittites.

Some even advocate the killing of whites to fulfill the command of the Lord to kill the Canaanites

Genesis 25:25 And the first came out red, all over like an hairy garment; and they called his name Esau..

Genesis 26:34 And Esau was forty years old when he took to wife Judith the daughter of Beeri the Hittite, and Bashemath the daughter of Elon the Hittite:

Deuteronomy 20:17 But thou shalt utterly destroy them; namely, the Hittites, and the Amorites, the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee:

John 16:2 They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.

Luke 22:36 Then said he (Jesus) unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.

Look into this I am not making this up.

Jesus has a good reason to refer to himself as the Son of Man. That great promise was the multiplication of Christ in humanity. now unto abraham and his seed were the promises made but he said not unto seeds plural but unto 1 seed ( abraham's heavenly seed ) which is CHRIST thus its Christ that is gonna be multiplied as the stars of heaven thus the sower and his precious seed the word sown in our hearts initiating a birth of Christ in US thus he is truly our Son when we are born from above,Thats y Zech refers to him as our 1st born our only son. truly mans fruit unto God via the good seed.Smite the sheperd and the sheep will scattered then i will turn my hand to the lil ones multiplcation.

Mat 13 KJV Is tied to the woman in Rev 12,Its the seed of the sower which is the bridegrooms seed that is gonna initiate a birth in humanity th woman is th world God so loved the world etc.The book in the right hand of the father has the words of God remember Jesus said the good seeds are the Words of God ( book ) The kingdom has to come as a birth a child etc Unless ya receive the kingdom as a lil child etc impling a birth of Christ our king in us which is the H.G. TH CHILD OF PROMISE. When Isaiah saw the kingdom coming he says unto US child is born unto US son is given. She brought forth a MANCHILD that is gona rule all Nations simply b/c that good seed is gona be sown in all mens hearts.

Verse 106, What David is doing is serious business with God. When God gives an oath He will most certainly perform it. In Genesis 26:3b we see this truth in action. "I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I swear unto Abraham thy father." David beings by saying, "I have sworn". That is saying, I call God in as a witness, I want this done in His sight. Then David says," I will perform it", that is the oath he just proclaimed to God. This is a serious resolve to see it through. I thought of the 40 men in Acts 23:21 who were tying to kill Paul, who bound themselves together with an oath that they would not eat or drink until he was dead. One only wonders if they carried that out. There are numerous occasions recorded in scripture where men failed to kept what they promised in oath to God. Better not to make an oath to God than to make one and not keep it. David finishes this verse declaring what the oath is, " That I will keep Thy righteous judgments". This an amazing oath for a lot of reasons. First he puts no time frame on this oath. This is for life. David had no inclinations of retreating. David was sold out to God. It seems like David no sooner penned these words and verse 106 happens. I am afflicted very much. Trials will certainly rest our resolve.

I liked the verses where they dug the wells for "springing water". It reminded that when we "dig" in the Word, we will find that water of the filling of God's Holy Spirit also known as the well that springs up to everlasting life. This is an encouragement to me to read God's Word more.

God’s presence gives prosperity as can be seen in the life of Joseph. It is easier to prosper when God's presence goes with us.
  • Timothy Wayne George on Genesis 26 - 12 years ago
We see the sins of the fathers are given to the children, but God will have mercy on all those who keep his commandments. Isaac allows fear to cause him to sin, and we must remember that God has not given us the spirit of fear. We have been given power, love, and a sound mind. Faith is our victory over this world. So we must walk in faith, and victory, and we will overcome all that the devil sends our way.
