Gen. ch.1 was a 'blueprint, pre-plan for man's creation. Gen 2:27 says God breathed into Adam the breath of life and Adam became a living soul. Ch. 2 gives more detail, so we know ch. 2 is when it actually happened.
  • Irene123 on Genesis 2 - 7 years ago
The reign of death began as the result of transgression against divine commandment. Adam 'n Eve sinned against God in disobedience. Consequently, the access to the Tree of Life, which would have enabled man to live forever, was blocked. The cherubim and the turning, flaming sword prohibited man's continued, unending existence in his terrestrial environment. cont.

Julie listen to God. I believe Gen.1:26 God created people around the earth, different races and that verse tells us He created man, animals all around the earth. Science tells same. the man in chapter one was a man created as spirit, until chapter two the man became a visible man
  • Irene123 on Genesis 2 - 7 years ago
Julie - man was not made in Gen. 1:26 this was God's preliminary 'idea' for creating man a 'blueprint' for man to be made. Man was actually created in Gen. 2:7.
  • Wayne on Genesis 2 - 7 years ago
1 Timothy 2:14- Adam was not deceived. The woman was deceived in the transgression.
  • Irene123 on Genesis 2 - 7 years ago
As to Eve, and Adam, not sinning and we all live in Eutopia - God KNEW before any of His creation what would happen. The way Adam 'n Eve were before the fruit tree incident - they knew only to live for God; they had NO choice. Their eyes hadn't been opened. God wanted man to love and obey from his own choice, not because he had no choice. The whole thing was God's plan.
  • Irene123 on Genesis 2 - 7 years ago
Adam is a name; it's like all other names - it has a meaning; Irene means 'peace'. ALL Bible names have their meaning; look them up; Jehovah means Savior - as does Jesus. "And His name shall be called Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins."
  • Wayne on Genesis 2 - 7 years ago
And then, God made a woman.
  • BRIE on Genesis 2 - 7 years ago
The 7th day of rest occurred AFTER the six days of creation as a memorial of the creation.
  • Bruce on Genesis 2 - 7 years ago
I think he's talking about the watering system and the flow of the rivers flowing out of Eden but that doesn't say it's outside of the garden it wasn't no backyard garden 30 x 30 or 100x100
  • Irene123 on Genesis 2 - 7 years ago
Disciple - where is it God starts describing things outside the garden? I th'ot maybe it was in ch. 3, but it's not.
  • A disciple on Genesis 2 - 7 years ago
Bruce; IF YOU READ either of the posts, you should see that there is NO "disciplining" or hypocrisy, but a conversation! The first point was meant to stir our thoughts toward what God has ever intended to make with us; which was forfeited for the present, because of sin. By Rachael's response, I merely said we shouldn't guess about "what ifs," since we can't change it; but thank God for His mercy.
  • Bruce on Genesis 2 - 7 years ago
Rachael: many people have said and thought the same thing that you posted. The one who disciplined you said the same thing in a post beneath you, so I guess it's ----. Don't stop posting your thoughts or your belief we enjoy hearing from others. That's how we grow. Iron sharpening Iron. We can grow together and hopefully walk into the kingdom together. With wars and rumors of wars it won't be long!
  • A disciple on Genesis 2 - 7 years ago
Rachael; it doesn't serve any good to speculate about that: if the man and his wife had not been duped, there was still their children afterwards, and then theirs after them. The point is not to blame either one of them; (as we all have nothing measured up to God's first thoughts of what we should be); but the fact that He had mercy to let us live anyway, upon His word of the promised Saviour.
  • Sherry on Genesis 2 - 7 years ago
I have looked for the meaning and what I found was made and formed are not the same thing. God rested from what he had made he did not form man or did he make the seeds grow on earth yet. I also learned Adam is the Hebrew word for man not a name like I once thought.
  • Rachael on Genesis 2 - 7 years ago
So i guess if eve had obeyed God they won't be any crime in the world everyone would have been living a happy life without Sin an drama
  • A disciple on Genesis 2 - 7 years ago
Isn't it interesting how after God made the man, that He then starts describing things about the world outside the garden? I think that the man could have had it very wonderful ruling over the earth and everything in it from his beautiful Garden Home! There's so much we have been deprived of learning
  • Bruce on Genesis 2 - 7 years ago
Julie: Genesis 2:1 Thus The Heavens and The Earth were finished, and all the host of them. Genesis 2 is zooming in on Genesis 1: amplified.
  • Obbie Beal on Genesis 2 - 7 years ago
    WOW: 1 1 = 1, or one-man one-woman = 1, ... God math was correct then and still is correct in 2017: WOW !
  • A disciple on Genesis 2 - 7 years ago
Julie; When we read the Scriptures, we should understand that things are often explained over several different chapters about various aspects of what they are. In other words, Chapter 2 is not chronological in relation to Chapter 1, as we might assume; but rather an in detail description of how God made man and his wife, and how He began to give them the charge and dominion over all the earth.
  • Siphelele on Genesis 2 - 7 years ago
no my brother or sister in genesis 1:26 God created man and female in his likeliness[spiritual beings] and in 2:7 now God create a body from dust and put that very man God created into that body
  • Julie on Genesis 2 - 7 years ago
So I am confused. In Chap 1 V 27 it clearly states that God created mankind, this was done on the 6th day. Then Chap 2 V 7, it clearly says He created a man (which occurred AFTER the 7th day (which He rested) So probably on the 8th day he created man from dust. So did He create people before Adam and Eve?

Bruce - the evil that comes from the heart originates from original sin.

Irene: but those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart---for out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornication, thefts, false witness, blasphemous: Matthew 15:18-19/Hearts desire to have, started a war that will not end! Heart change 2Corinthians

The Middle East wars; yes, they are because of original sin. Because " ..... wars and fightings among you ..... "? grow out of - sin. Any bad thing (lying, stealing, fornication, wars, etc.) originate with original sin.
  • Bruce on Genesis 2 - 7 years ago
Ed:(NO) it's their-our own dark hearts! From whence come wars and fightings among you? Come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members. James 4:1 / I assume Abraham and his two sons may have helped a little. Galatians 4:22-31 / washed:Revelation1:5.
  • Brian Matute on Genesis 4 - 7 years ago
    Greg,
Genesis 1:26 - God creates man in their own image.
Genesis 2:9 - God creates Adam out of the ground.
God created mankind twice. Cain got his wife from the land of Nod. Were there other people there? We do not know God does not tell us everything in his word. There is time missing from when he creates mankind and Adam.
