Literally "generations " started after Abraham. In God 's infinite Wisdom and calender one day is equal to 1000 years. His Ways are Higher then ours. We can only pray for perfect understanding, between the 1st and the 2nd verse of the Bible who know how many so called "years " passed. God always makes things perfect He is Perfect. Matt 5:48 something happened that the earth was without form Dispensation of Angels Satan was cast on to the Earth after pride entered in his heart and the earth was covered with darkness. Then in Verse 2 Spirit of God moved on the Earth, Light had to be there in Him "God " there is no darkness. He is light God said let there be light... So, times are in His Hands, only God know what exactly God is referring to "Generation ". For us we need only to know that "God " who is "THE " Creator made everything for His Son Jesus that through Him the entire world might be saved. John 3:16. Amen

Part 2 of 2: When Paul instructed Timothy on setting up his church there was only two postions that he distinctly stated was for men, 1 Timothy 3, and that is Bishop and Deacon. The other offices that was set up in the church there is no restriction on being a male or a female, 1 Corinthians 12: 28 And God hat set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. Then you have the spiritual gifts that operate in the church for the perfecting of the saints. These do not have any restriction on being male or female, these are the diversity of Spiritual Gifts: Ephesians 4: 11 And he gave some, apostles and some prophets and some, evangelists and some, pastors and teachers for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

Part 1 of 2: Hello Whatitsays: Now you stated that there are no women preachers in the Bible? However, There is Priscilla of the husband and wife team of Aquila and Priscilla, Acts 18: 26 And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly . If you read Romans Chapter 16 you will find devout women who labored in the Lord. Priscilla and Aquila had a church in their home. When you are truly saved in Christ Jesus, there is the following, Galatians 3: 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus .

Looking too long at the sheep? Never read that anywhere in scripture. That is a great leap of suggestion. Women evangelist. I 'm afraid that is not in scripture either. God put man over women and as man should be in subjection to God so should the wife to the husband. It 's not about Master slave its about love that goes beyond what we see in society today. It 's called obedience to what he spoke and not to what we add or subtract from the truth

Hello Reneweman Where did you come to the conclusion that Adam was looking to long at a sheep? It does not say that Adam was looking to long at any animal this is why God created him a help meet or wife. Also Adam was in a state of innocence, his mind was not opened up to perverted sexual escapades. However, seeing that animals had mates and Adam did not could have prompted God to make him his wife verse 20, but still to say he was looking at a sheep, I would not go that far.
  • Reneweman on Genesis 2:18 - 10 years ago
Gen. 2 18 'It 's not good for man to be alone. ' As Adam was looking to long at a sheep, God realized something. Each beast has complimentary creation to relate with and to. Yet Adam 's got nobody. So God created a women. Now Adam has one to take care of and have an entirely new purpose drawing him away from self obsession. Thank you God.

Part 4 of 4 The scripture states that the man should honor his wife, 1 Peter 3 7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life that your prayers be not hindered. In Christianity we are all one in Christ Jesus. God does not value one over the other. Galatians 3 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female for ye are all one in Christ Jesus . If you read over in 1 Corinthians 7 you will some thoughts on how a man and woman should act appropriately with each other.

Part 3 of 4 In Ephesians 5 25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it If a man is truly a Christian knowing that Christ gave his life for the church which are people who follow Acts 2 38 then why would a man want to abuse and mistreat his wife? Colossians 3 9 Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them. God has never intended for a man to abuse and mistreat the woman, especially with mutilation. God never intended for a woman to be circumcised. God made this covenant with man.

Part 2 of 4 God did create man first to till the ground. He saw that it was not good for man to be alone therefore he created his companion, woman. As far as procreation, Genesis 3 20 And Adam called his wife 's name Eve because she was the mother of all living . I am not God, however based on the scriptures, Adam could not produce and be fruitful and multiple without Eve. Therefore, both are needed to do procreation. God gave the greatest example when the Holy Ghost overshadowed Mary and she brought for his son Jesus Christ. I think that both are the bedrock foundation for procreation. A human is made up of two different DNA strands, one from the mother and one from the father.

Part 1 of 4 Hello Olu How can women play the role of a help mate effectively? I think that depends on the situation within that household. How can you both benefit each other to make the home work effectively, efficiently, and in love? Everyone has their own good points, bad points, and capabilities. The point is who is willing to set aside pride and become humble and work together. Just because a man wears the pants does not necessarily mean they are the smartest one between the two. Just because the woman carries the child does not mean she is the better parent. I think that they should both look at their true strengths and weaknesses and allow each other to work in that capacity and respect each other opinion. There will always be problems but if you can come together at the end of the day, reason and make it right then I believe God will bless you.

Hello Thomas and P I would like to say, Thomas I liked your analogy. I would like to add that the toenail is dead. It has no life in it. The nailbed is alive but not the toenail. However, our bones are teaming with life given properties such as bone marrow. God got life from life. The purpose being that Eve was to be his help meet for him. I really like Thomas analogy of Eve s representation of women existence. Woman was taken from man, not from his feet to be walked on not from his head to be supreme but, from his side to be equal, from under his arm to be protected, and close to the heart to be LOVED and RESPECTED. Well said Thomas!

The purpose of a man on earth is revealed in Genesis Chapter 2. if you read it carefully and pray about it God will reveal it to you as well.
  • Thomas on Genesis 2 - 10 years ago
Answering P 's comment about why did God use a rib instead of a toenail to form Eve. 1st. Let us notice that God made all the beast of the field and fowl of the air in Genesis 2 and brought them to Adam yet, no helpmate was found. Why? Here we learn, as Adam did, that woman is not to be a burden of beast, nor a sex object, nor something outside of him. Therefore, God used a rib that is inside of his body not outside of it. Eve was created to be helper, one that complimented him, and completed him. I would like to point out a few things I have learned from this. Notice that God didn 't give him pain meds and let him watch nor did he put him in a sub conscious state. He put Adam in a deep sleep, my psychology colleagues have proven this theory, meaning that marriage is more than just affection but, goes deeper from the conscious into the unconscious. One last thought I would like to leave for us to understand why God used a rib and not a toenail. Woman was taken from man, not from his feet to be walked on nor from his head to be supreme but, from his side to be equal, from under his arm to be protected, and close to the heart to be LOVED and RESPECTED. And, for that reason God used a rib.
  • P on Genesis 2 - 10 years ago
Wasn 't it a bit extreme for God to make Eve out Adam 's rib ? Why couldn 't he use a toenail ? Does anyone think it would be rude to ask God that question when I meet him on judgement day?

Hello Garden Searcher 1 Chronicles 29 2 speaks of all manner of stones are precious. In Ezra 8 27 Also twenty basons of gold, of a thousand drams and two vessels of fine copper, precious as gold. However, in this scripture gold is gold found in the Garden of Eden. The word precious is used to describe a lot of things in the Bible including gold. In Revelation it describes the Holy City. Revelation 21 18 "And the building of the wall of it was of jasper and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass ". In Revelation 21 21 "And the twelve gates were twelve pearls every several gate was of one pearl and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.
  • Garden Searcher on Genesis 2:12 - 10 years ago
The word 'gold ' appears to be a generic term for precious substances and it seems the passage is also commenting on quality of those substances.

Evangelist Chatauna Robinson Hosea 14 vs 8 Ephraim shall say, What have I to do any more with idols? I have heard him, and observed him ..God speaking here so He says... I am like a green fir tree. From me is thy fruit found.... God said He is like a evergreen.. a great fir tree. Ephraim meaning the 10 tribes that were scattered to make up the Christian Nations today after being captive 200 years before Judah went captive to Babylon. I didn 't have to go far to find out where men are spoken of as trees I just drop the Bible on my desk.
  • Word on Genesis 2 - 10 years ago
Evangelist Chatauna Robinson You have read the Bible correct because there are so many places where men are spoken of as trees. If you go to Ezekiel 31 vs 3 and read of Satan as the Assyrian. 8 The cedars in the garden of God Eden could not hide him .. Satan ..the fir trees were not like his boughs, and the chesnut trees were not like his branches nor any tree in the garden of God was like unto him in his beauty. .. God made him almost the full pattern. 31 vs 9 I have made him fair by the multitude of his branches so that all the trees of Eden, that were in the garden of God, envied him. Trees of wood don 't envy so we are speaking of people.

Hello Mark I would like to make a correction. It is Mark 8 24 that the blind man is talking about the trees.
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson on Genesis 2 - 10 years ago
Hello Word Can you give us an example of where God is referring to men as trees? Now I know that in Mark 8 34 it states the following And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking. However, this is not Jesus Christ talking this is the blind man that Jesus just healed. Mark is giving the account of what happened. If you read Verse 23 after Jesus spit on his eyes and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought. Then the blind man answered in Verse 24. Could you tell me where it states that any of the trees could think? When I read about the tree of knowledge of good and evil this does not mean that the tree could think this means that if a person at off of the tree their mind would be opened up unto good and evil. And in Judges Chapter 9 Jotham is making parables.
  • Word on Genesis 2 - 10 years ago
Lee checking out the word trees the ones God said Adam and Eve could eat were fruit trees. But the othe tree which was Satan anyway check out tree and that tree had a nerves system and could think. This is like when God speaking of Satan in Ezekiel around chapter 30 where Satan is the Assyrian. Anyway God through the scriptures talks about men as trees.
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson on Genesis 2 - 10 years ago
Hello JD Davis I understand what you are saying. However, it does not matter if Eve heard it directly from God or from Adam the point is that she disobeyed God 's word. Then Adam disobeyed God 's word and this is what brought on the curses, Romans 5 12 "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned
  • JD Davis on Genesis 2 - 10 years ago
God told Adam not to eat of the tree in the middle of the garden before Eve was created. Apparently having received the warning second hand, did Eve fully understand the implications of eating from the tree.
