Do not leave out good and evil when referring to the tree of knowledge of good and evil, today we know the difference between good and evil. No the tree of life and the tree of knowledge of good and evil does not refer to Adam. Today our tree of life is Jesus and the tree of knowledge of good and evil is self explanatory, we do know the difference between good and evil.

I wonder, do you think that the tree of life and the tree of knowledge are one and the same, and refer to Adam, pray for all sinners, god bless all who search him out
  • Mark on Genesis 2 - 10 years ago
Adam probably saw the Mother Father relationship and Family relationships through the animals and such, surely the animals and such were fruitful and multiplied before Eve was created.
  • Mark on Genesis 2 - 10 years ago
Adam and Eve knew neither Good or Evil until they disobeyed God 's commandment and ate of the fruit, The Bible says the "tree of the knowledge of good AND evil ", notice in chapter 3 verse 5 the serpent said, For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

Man and woman were both created by God blessed and only recognized goodness of nature and the garden... The Tree of Life was to give sustenance and knowledge to their and food for their physical natures. Adam and Eve only could see and recognize the GOODNESS and BEAUTY of creation. They had NO knowledge of EVIL... until they age of the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil... Once they ate of that they had taken into their nature knowledge of evil and became subject to evil too. That is why the serpent was coiled into that tree... it was the ONLY PLACE where evil existed in the Garden of Eden. Evil only existed in that tree and once the fruit of that tree was eaten... they became subject to the temptations of evil... "they would die the death... " knowing evil and becoming subject to evil 's temptations. That tree was the ONLY site of evil and evil temptations... the rest of the Garden of Eden was full of GOODNESS and GOD 's love.

The tree of LIFE is Christ and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil is Satan. All the other trees were fruit trees and ones you could eat. Now in the scriptures God tells prophets to eat the little scroll or to consume the book so as you look here God is saying don 't consume or eat of this tree. Check this tree out and you will see more than a tree. This tree was good and turned evil. Beguile is seduced and reading Corinthians when Paul tells us he wants us as a chase virgin and not like Eve who was beguile by the devil.

Mongo Father wrote this book very simple so a child could understand it. You have men write on it and they never get it because to understand it you have to have love and faith and understand he wrote it for the simple. He explains it all in full.

I would love to study the DNA of God 's perfect man Adam and compare it to Eve 's. They had to have been complete opposites to encompass the varieties of DNA we see today. Makes me laugh for their sake Oh such a terrible fall for them, though. To be able to speak directly to God face to face! I can only see glimpses of this on my daily walk in a spiritual way. I have something to look forward to, that is for certain.

  • Mongo on Genesis 2 - 10 years ago
Why is it that the God of the old testament is not all knowing? He 's constantly realizing things that should be obvious. In this chapter he realizes Adam is lonely then realizes he 's still lonely after creating the animals. Finally, it occurs to God that a woman might do the trick. Unbelievable.

Genesis chapter 2, goes back into the events of Genesis chapter 1 and gives us more details. For example, read Genesis 2 5 7. In Genesis 2 5 7, we see that 2 things had to happen before any plants, herbs, etc, grew from the earth. One was that it had to rain first and also there had to be man created to till the land. We then see that a mist came out from the earth and watered the whole face of the ground, and then we see that God also "formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living soul. " Now read Genesis chapter 1 9 13, which are about the events of the 3rd day. The events of Genesis 2 5 7, took place during day 3 at some point in time before verse 12 of Genesis chapter 1. This means that on day 3 of creation, God first formed man as a living soul. It wasn 't until day 6 that man was created in the image and likeness of God. The Hebrew word for man can be used in the singular or plural form. It is likely that on day 3, God created many men as living souls to till the land of the earth. Then on Day 6, he decided to take a man singular and create him in the image and likness of God. Amen.

The tallest tree in the garden of Eden was the tree of life.

The bible was written by unknown peasants shepherds and contradicted their stories depending on who wrote them. Take Genesis 1 27 So God created man in his owne Image, in the Image of God created hee him male and female created hee them. Notice MALE and FEMALE. In chapter 2 21 24 And the LORD God caused a deepe sleepe to fall vpon Adam, and hee slept and he tooke one of his ribs, and closed vp the flesh in stead thereof. 22 And the rib which the LORD God had taken from man, made hee a woman, brought her vnto the man. 23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh she shalbe called woman, because shee was taken out of man. 24 Therefore shall a man leaue his father and his mother, and shall cleaue vnto his wife and they shalbe one flesh. He created Adam out of mud and then took a rib from him and made Eve. Because the word Adam means man he then changed it into MAN and WOMAN. Now look at verse 24 which talks about a man leaving his father and mother and cleaving to his wife and be one flesh. They were supposed to be the first people so where does father and mother come in. The Bible is full of such contradictions. Some will say it is in the translation but that is also brought into question when King James brought in a multitude of the wisest and most learned in Hebrew, Greek and probably Latin to get an accurate translation

How excellent is our God in creativity and wisdom! The question that comes to mind is WHY ARE HUMANS ATTEMPTING TO REMAKE RECREATED WHAT GOD CREATED AND COMPLETED? He put into "law " and "rested " on the 7th day. There are no amendments, vetoes, majority votes, ratifications to these divine laws. This stems from verses 1 and 2 "Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. 2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. from Genesis

Standing out in the middle of this chapter is the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Can anyone imagine such a tree anywhere but precisely in the middle of the garden? The entire narrative hangs from its branches. Without it the story would simply end here. It must have seemed the tallest thing in Eden.

Chapter 2 is a more detailed account of GOD putting things back together than was given in Chapter 1 Verse 2 and following. Chapter 1 verse 1 was everything before the garden and can include dinosaurs, pre man, Neanderthal man, etc. No one knows how long it was between the creation of the universe and its destruction due to the fall of Lucifer and his "angels ", now devil spirits. And then there is the time between that destruction and GOD putting everything back together. That could have been the millions or billions of years that scientists say the universe and Earth have been around for.

LBJ 's comment about verse 6 No rain watered the earth. It was a mist that watered the ground. Rain is not mentioned again until chapter 7 verse 4 when GOD is explaining to Noah that a flood is coming. And by the way, GOD did not create or make the flood it came through the manipulations of the devil and his devil spirits and thru man 's unbelief or negative believing. GOD does not do anything evil, but will not interfere with evil doings if there are not believers standing on HIS word. Noah was standing and so instead of saving the world for his sake GOD saved just Noah and his family. But I digress no one knew anything about rain until the flood. The earth was watered by a mist.

Gnome de Pluehm 's Genesis Chapter 2 What?? GOD didn 't rest until the seventh day, by that time HE had already formed, made, and created man, Adam Eve. Man was NOT an after thought. The universe was made for the Earth, to keep it in its orbit and to give light upon its surface. The Earth was made for man, to give him a place to live and work, oh, yes, GOD expected Adam Eve to work, even in paradise. The oldest profession is gardening and being an arborist, tree specialist. The oldest profession is NOT prostitution. Man was made because GOD wanted children, I don 't know why the angels didn 't count, but I 'm extremely glad HE wanted me to be HIS child. HE wanted children who would love HIM by their freewill which HE gave to all mankind.

Verse 7. Man became a living soul means became a living thing from a non living mud. Man does NOT have an eternal soul. When a ship in ocean is in danger it sends out S.O.S. for help. Save Our Souls. Obviously humans cannot save other humans souls, but only their LIVES.

Man has gotten too big for his britches! Verse 15 says that man was put into the garden to dress it and to keep it. Man was the last creature made after God had made all the other plants and animals and He rested because he was pleased with his work. Man was an afterthought. We were put here to be mobile fertilizing equipment for God 's garden.

To Scott consider that the creation in chapter 1 is a spiritual creation done by Elohim and the creation in chapter 2 is the physical creation done by Yahwey. Verse 5 every plant before it was in the ground.... The chapter 2 creation has Yahwey creating plants, animals, man "out of the ground " as opposed to these same creations being "brought forth " in chapter 1.

To Stan the bible was put together, ultimately as we have it today, by people in the times and places to admit certain writings as scripture and reject others. Many of these writings help to fill in the blanks the several versions of the Book of Enoch, for example. Enoch was so righteous that God "took him ", but we have nothing in scripture about this most righteous man until he is quoted by Jude thousands of years later. Who authorized these redactors to edit all these writings and how do we know they got it right every time? And why aren 't we authorized to search everywhere we can to answer "missing link " questions that have baffled the "learned " since Old Testament times?
  • Stan on Genesis 2 - 10 years ago
To Scott The existence of fossilized early man is indeed intriguing, but be careful about adding your own reasoning to interpretation of scripture. There are many questions I 'm planning on asking the Lord when I see Him, but until then, we 're not authorized to "fill in the blanks " about non Scripture specific questions.
