@Teresa, regarding your comment dated 9/16/2013 at 1:28pm about Genesis Chapter 2: God created a man named ADAM then God created a WOMAN out of ADAM ( Genesis 2:7,20-23) and ADAM called the woman EVE ( Genesis 3:20).
  • _Rosalina_Sayson_Ko_Tapay_ on Genesis 2 - 11 years ago
    @Dolores

Genesis Chapter 2 mentioned about the TREE OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND "EVIL" ( Genesis 2:9,17). But you are talking "all about Lucifer" on your comment dated 9/20/2013 at 12:19pm WITHOUT stating from which Bible Chapters and Verses you quoted them. We cannot verify your statements if they are TRUE or NOT unless you sight your references from the Bible. I gave you all my references so you could check on them based on your discussion about Lucifer on your comment dated 9/08/2013 at 7:51am. I would like to give you my response to your comment after you stated here the Chapters and Verses from which you based all your explanations. For the sake of discussion about "EVIL" as mentioned in Genesis 2 Verses 9 and 17: It is written in Isaiah 45:7 "I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things" to which I based my conclusion that all EVIL created by God from the beginning was created as EVIL right from the START and all GOOD created by God from the beginning was created as GOOD right from the START. Therefore LUCIFER was created as EVIL right from the START and right from the BEGINNING because he is the father of it as stated in John 8:44, "Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it".

    . How can Genesis 2: 18-22 relate to Phil. 4:6 ?
  • _Rosalina_Sayson_Ko_Tapay_ on Genesis 3 - 11 years ago
Genesis Chapter 3 is so BEAUTIFUL! God planted two GOOD trees in the MIDST of the garden of Eden: The tree of "LIFE" and the tree of "THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL" ( Genesis 3:3,3:24,2:9). It was only the fruit of the tree of THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL which God forbidden for a man to eat ( Genesis 2:17). But God allowed man to eat all of the fruits of the garden of Eden, therefore the fruit of the tree of "LIFE" was also included ( Genesis 2:16). Since the fruit of the tree of "LIFE" shall make a man to live for ever ( Genesis 3:22), therefore it only proves than in the beginning, before the man disobey the commandment of God, He seen it good also for a man to live for ever like Him and His Angels. That if a man be with Him, he shall be alive and shall not die.

Lucifer is one of three archangels mentioned in Scripture. He was created by God just as all angels were, but his role was different from the other angelic hosts. Lucifer was referred to as the 'covering angel.' Just as the cherubim covered the mercy seat of the Ark of the Covenant, Lucifer was established by God to be the angel of worship, one whose ministry surrounded the heart of heaven. Lucifer was created to dwell eternally in the throne room of heaven, in the very presence of God ( Ezekiel 28:14). John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. God is a spirit! God did not have sex to reproduce...

Gen.2:19 God who created the cattle, every animal, every bird allowed Adam to name them. God did not attempt to change what Adam called them he excepted each name. This truly amazes me. God who his all knowing would allow Adam to name the wildlife, of his creation. Often times we do not accept from one another suggestions, ideas, we should learn from God to allow others to name a ministry, or to implement an idea without
    rebuke.

yah very interesting thinking, but God's word says that God made man in His own image. and on the completion of seventh day He made Adam and then Eve and we are descendant of Adam.
  • Teresa on Genesis 2 - 11 years ago
So did God create man then Adam and Eve?
  • Rosalina on Deuteronomy 24 - 11 years ago
(This is my response to Michael's comment dated 2/27/2013 at 11:14am on Deuteronomy Chapter 24):::: Genesis 2:24, "Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh".. Therefore, it's NOT biblical for anyone to have a newly married couple living separately in two different houses.. In Matthew 5:19, "Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

    Philippians 2:6
The Bible says, "being in the form of GOD". Asking the HOLY SPIRIT why it was stated this way, I asked Him to show me through scripture what it could mean to we as believers. Then He brought to mind the following Bible passage. This is a phrase that caught my attention for a reason that may seem far fetched to some. Please allow me to expound. The word "formed" is brought to our attention in the first book of the Bible.
Genesis 2:7 tells us that "the LORD GOD formed man". I believe that in verse 6 of Philippians 2 we see within this passage that it is bringing to mind the prophetic thought of the CHRIST coming as a man. The verse goes on to states, "thought it not robbery". I believe if it were not the GOD Head's purpose it could have been called robbery. The reason for submitting this idea comes from the remainder of the verse that states,"to be equal with GOD".
Only a part of the GOD Head could be equal with GOD and no other. When thee LORD of Glory wanted to redeem man He left His throne and became a man for the purpose of dying, by shedding His perfect untainted blood on the cross for our sins. GOD's plan is always perfect and only the perfection of a HOLY GOD could have accomplished this Sacrifice.
What a wonderful Savor we have and how He through His perfect great love gave all. Thank You LORD.

This response to all that agreed with Mr James Mcardle's comment on 02-08-2011...We cannot or should not use the bible to try to justify our bad habits. Genesis Chapter 1:12 When God created the Heavens and Earth including the trees and herbs of the field God said it Good. Keep in mind God had not created man or woman therefore sin had not come into existence. God said Genesis 2...
16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
Look what it said from every TREE you eat. He did not say of everything that grows on vines or shurbs such as Pot, Cocaine, Herion, Opium, Halusingens and/or any other mind altering trees such as things like coffee, tobacco, grapes, ect...By right you can do those things because God is giving you the same choice he gave Adam. You too will face that same curse and that is as you said "mind altering" which is why God will have to destroy you and anybody else that will not conform to the Creator. This is exactly the curse, our minds has been altered through this simple act of disobedient. This applies to us ALL! Hope to hear from you soon.

My respond to Delories's Genesis Chapter 2 comment on 9/08/2013, 7:51am: In Matthew 3:7 and Mark 1:11 God said that Jesus is His beloved Son. In Isaiah 14:12 the one fallen from heaven was Lucifer, son of the morning. In Job 1:6 it's written that the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them. But it's not written there that Satan is among God's son. Now in Romans 8:14 it says, "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God". Therefore, God need not a wife and have sex like human beings to make children. In fact in Matthew 3:9 Jesus says, "And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham". So for God to create His own children is by spirit and not by flesh.
  • Delories on Genesis 2 - 11 years ago
@ Lucy's where are you getting that satan was Gods son? The devil was a falling Angel who thought he was better and was jealous of God. No where in the King James Bible does it mention anything you wrote in your comment. I know Mormonism teaches God was married and had sex with his wife and brought forth children, but no where in the bible does it say that.

Christopher, verse 7 tells us that god formed a body from the matter of the earth, breathed life into that body (by means of holy spirit),and the result was life-"he became a living soul".Regarding the end check out Ps 146:3,4,Eccl 9:5,6,10. Is God happy about that and going to leave it that way? take a look at Job 14:13-15
  • Lucy on Genesis 2 - 11 years ago
There were two trees in the garden, 1-the tree of life the 2-the tree of knowledge of good and evil, and Satan was not the tree, Satan is on of the sons of God who came jealous of man, who God loved, just like we become jealous today over stupid stuff. Read on and you will find out that God himself had sons and those sons came and took wives of whom they chose and had kids. So geneology has taught us that we are direct descendents of God, even after the flood.

Men do not believe that they are the image of God, God has two eye, one nose, one mouth, two ears.

Remain like children in not judging others.
  • Anonymous on Genesis 2:17 - 11 years ago
    I think it means this:
Eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil will lead us to 'know'(judge others) if you eat of knowledge -knowing what is good or evil, then we die. We become judges of each other, we view something/someone as good or evil. So remain "ignorant' non-judgemental)of each other in order to live. Mind your business.

Adam was a full grown man placed in a full grown garden on a newly created full grown earth. Everything he would need was there. Carbon dating would be incorrect if created full
grown or with the appearance of age. The text says further that the days had evening and morning indicating 24 hour periods not millions of years.

@Liz. Genesis 1:26-29 YHVH created mankind, instructed them to fill the earth, and that every green herb that bore seed, that covered all the earth, would be food for them.

After the 1st Sabbath, YHVH formed a man from the dust of the ground. ( Genesis 2:7) His instructions were to tend the Garden.

Adam was not the first man, merely the first to live in the Garden. Cain married someone from those who were created. The Bible says he travelled to a place that already had a name.

I love the part when God breaths into the nostrils of man and BANG.. Man springs to life a spirit imparted from god to give life. There is no mention of a Soul but of the Spirut or Holy Spirit. Man was created molded from the hands of God and life was breathed into him. Amazing.. Inspiring thought.. This raises hundreds of questions of what happens unto the spirit at Death.. I welcome any response concerning what happens to us at our end here on Earth..

Note how the Basic English Bible translates this scripture: "who made it not to be a waste, but as a living-place for man". This, along with many other scriptures( Psalms 37:29, Ecclesiastes 1:4, Matthew 6:10, Genesis 2:16,17; 3:19), gives clear, indisputable evidence of God's purpose for the earth.

If it states in Numbers 23:19 God does not lie yet, this verse says if they eat the fruit they will surely die that day. What kind of death was it?
By eating it, it caused disobedience, therefore rebellion & sin. Meaning satan had access to their lives to rob, kill & destroy

To ... and Zarus. Genesis was not written in linear form chapter 1 is a summary of events and from where it says 'These are the generations of the heavens...' that is the detailing. Adam was created on the 6th day then God created the animals for his companionship and when there was no adequate helper (which God already knew duh, he does that a lot) Eve was created. So when that was done God says dude on the third day I created these plants which comprise the garden, herbs for veg and fruits for meat, tend to it.
