How great is our God amen.
  • Jeff Berry on Genesis 3 - 7 years ago
The Word of God deserves more than just a cursory reading. Did God create darkness or is "darkness" the result of the creation of light? The word "created" in Isa 45:7 is more accurately translated (the) "one-creating"

    Isaiah 45:7
I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

AMEN Jeff; It was a real species of fruit tree! What was in the fruits had power to give knowledge of good and evil; just like the tree of life's fruits have power to give eternal life to the one who eats it. God has always very good and wise reasons for the commandments He gives us, and expects us to keep them that it may be well with us. Deliberate defiance to God's guidance is to self destruct.
  • Jeff Berry on Genesis 3 - 7 years ago
It is the tree of "KNOWLEDGE of good and evil". It was forbidden. To eat of it was to expierence disobeying God. Out of love He wanted us to choose obedience. Choose Him. God did not create evil. He allows it to give us a choice. For this reason, evil will exist until the end of time.
  • Celia W. on Genesis 3 - 7 years ago
so it looks to me like God created the subtil serpent (which a lot of Christian mistake for satan)
God also is the one that CREATED the tree of good and evil so does that mean evil came from God and not any one else?
  • Sidonia david on Genesis 3 - 7 years ago
This a hard story to to explain but to n good create life food n away to live a good life, but because Satan's evilness drove them away from a wonderful life, the creation n things he s done for a greater life but Satan's has a way of making things real good that we drift away from the goodness of good n ruin our godly living to such evilness n loose out on what we were created to live in paradise

Thinking of he forbidden tree was this tree a apple or fig tree ?
  • A disciple on Mark 15 - 7 years ago
Eddie; that was a very good question! Actually it wasn't that God was looking for someone to die for our sins; for He Himself had announced from the beginning that Christ would come in the flesh born of a woman to undo the works of the devil and save us from our sins, by His own bruising Genesis 3:15. Who the LORD looks for is a man after His own heart whom He might teach and reveal His Word.

BSP; Very well said! We have the Word of God in the Scriptures to know, to speak forth in faith, to stand on by His grace, against every wicked thought or desire of the flesh that seeks to take us away from Jesus! The temptation isn't the sin! And if when we are tempted, we "Take the kingdom of heaven by force and violence" over our own thoughts and passions, by standing on the Word, we will win!
  • BSP on Genesis 3 - 7 years ago
Verse 6: Eve did not control her thoughts and actions and this led to disastrous results. We must continue to put forth effort to control both our thoughts and actions so that we can make wise decisions that are pleasing to Jehovah God.

Tamara: Adam was not deceived, but The Woman being deceived was in The Transgression. 1Timothy 2:14
  • A disciple on Genesis 3 - 7 years ago
Tamara; Because of Adam's disobedience and hearkening to his wife over keeping the commandment of God, death passed to all men. The woman being deceived and drawing her husband away from innocence and into crime, was in the transgression; and so put all women under subjection to the rule and authority of their own husbands. Those who rebel against this are in disobedience rebellion against Christ.
  • Tamara on Genesis 3 - 7 years ago
Since Adam ate of the tree that's when sin fell on the world. Not the woman, but the man cause God forbidded him first not to eat of the tree. And God sent his son Jesus into the world to give us a way to the tree of life. Salvation through his son Jesus making right what the first man messed up. That's why it's so much killing and wickedness going on in this world because of Adam. We must repent.
  • A disciple on Genesis 3 - 7 years ago
Jevon; Adam means "Red" as from the ground he was taken from and created. The first murderer sinned against God, against his brother whom he slew, and against his own moral consciousness; for God came to him beforehand and said, Why are you wroth? and why is your countenance fallen? If you do right won't you be blessed? but if you do not right sin is at the door. Cain chose to be heathen instead!
  • Jevon on Genesis 3 - 7 years ago
I have a questions also that I was getting to. How did this come across my mind. Because I thought about it many times...what is the commandments, law, precepts...who broke it first...it look like it was me as well as Adam a human being isn't that what's adam name means?
  • A disciple on 1 Corinthians 14 - 7 years ago
Wayne; God commanded the woman to be under obedience and subjection to her husband in Genesis 3:15 directly after pronouncing to the serpent his eternal condemnation and the breaking of his head by the coming of Christ. The Western Churches are in disobedience to this Word because of rebellious worldly influences and thinking they're above such things, thus opening the door to more and more evil.
  • Jim on Genesis 3 - 7 years ago
Eve wasn't created yet when God told Adam about the tree of good and evil, the devil went for eve instead of adam.
  • A disciple on 2 John 1 - 7 years ago
Dear Walter; That Jesus Christ is come in the flesh, means that He came into the world by being born of a woman. The difference between Him and everyone else whose ever been born, is that He existed forever before that in heaven as God, and He didn't have an earthly father like we do; but was miraculously conceived in the womb by the Holy Spirit. In Genesis 3:15 God declared why Christ would come.

16, many women may have trouble understanding why God said the husband is to rule over the wife, but face it, God said it! Someone has to be the boss and make the final decision especially in marriage and family. Not all men were created with wisdom and understanding though, and neither were all women. Which means they had to work together and let God be in charge. Right?
  • A disciple on Genesis 3 - 7 years ago
Rene; you can be sure that there are multitudes of parents who have since likewise mourned over a son that went to the devil! Even though they turned aside after wickedness; this doesn't make them not their parents; but the wicked chooses to NOT be their son! It is a wonder to me that God is so good and self-controlled toward wicked men; something I really have great difficulty with myself doing!
  • A disciple on Genesis 3 - 7 years ago
Rene; You have to read it again; Cain was their first son. There's multitudes of real sons and daughters that are not mentioned in the genealogy, because there was a specific purpose in WHO is named; that is, the line of the LORD's Anointed. Cain knew full well what was right, and chose to have a wicked mind against God and the Saviour to come; so he willfully omitted all reference to Christ.
  • A disciple on Genesis 3 - 7 years ago
Hi Donna; you know the more we read the Word the more we will get; and that's the way the Lord raises us, first we are toddlers then we get a little bigger then we can go to kindergarten elementary school, etc. And when you think back when you were little how kids tried to guess (or lie) about things only grown ups know about? Jesus said, "I have MANY THINGS to say to you" but we have to GROW UP.
  • Rene from Gods Ambassage on Genesis 3 - 7 years ago
The reason Cain is not in Adam genealogy is because Cain is not Adams son. Eve did eat which is to say take in the fruit parah paw-raw' that which brings forth from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, which symbolized Satan. Because she did this God said He was going to multiply her conception. God is talking about adding to her conception, her pregnancy.
  • Donna Cromb on Genesis 3 - 7 years ago
Insight and disciple, u bring up some good points that sin is making a choice to disobey God, to willfully turn from God, and sin is death in a spiritual sense. I never understood that and my father said it's just a story. I don't think so any longer. God is saying how we were separated from Him by Adam's sin, how we lost the garden of Eden. And it was not all Eve, Adam made a choice.
  • A disciple on Genesis 3 - 7 years ago
Hi Cynthia; That is a very interesting point you bring up. Going over the whole thing we can see that neither the man nor his wife actually said they were sorry; but the LORD didn't hammer on it, and released them anyway to live the rest of their lives under toil and sorrow until they died; upon the Word of the Saviour the Seed of the woman to come, to break the serpent's head by His own bruising.
  • Cynthia on Genesis 3 - 7 years ago
All I can say is that women tend to love flattery so it could be that Eve caved to the guile of satan or rather Satan played on her naivety, luring her into a false sense than she would become as wise as God.
  • A disciple on Psalms 22 - 7 years ago
Dan and Mark; The first mentioning of Christ having to suffer to redeem us is found in Genesis 3:15. After the LORD God had questioned the man and his wife; He had His two witnesses and didn't need to call a jury or give the devil a chance to defend himself; but directly pronounced his eternal doom, face down in the pit; and that the Seed of the woman would break his head by His own being bruised.
  • A disciple on Genesis 1 - 7 years ago
Donna Everett; 1 Timothy 2:12 "But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence." Genesis 3:16 "Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee." That women are to be subject has always been, up until modern times.
