Bible study shows where the angels and God conversate, so when God speaks in Genesis cht 3 vers 22 I believe He was talking to the angels in heaven. Let 's not forget Lucifer was an angel that was good then became evil, Lucifer acted out on his evil thoughts. Remember God said, the man has become as "ONE " of us! So in my opinion God was not using His entenal thinking He was actually talking to the heavenly host of angels, spiritual beings as Himself!

We shall reap whatever we sowed. We must pay for any decision we make. be it good or bad in all of that God is still Good. Praise God

I feel God was showing them compassion by clothing them. Even though they sinned he still showed them mercy by sacrificing the animals to provide skins for coverings to hide their nakedness. Blood was also sacrificied.

It is imperative that we read scriptures before this verse and further to keep things in perspective. There were physical trees that bore physical fruit for consumption. There were also two symbolic trees the tree of life Lord God and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil Satan . The fruit of these two trees is not physical but simply words and information dispensed through conversation. Listen to God and live or Satan and die: that is the essence of the commandment and warning given to Adam. Eve listened to Satan and took what she learned to Adam, who in turn listened to her. So it is clear that "serpent " used in this verse is not a literal snake, but Satan whose attributes can be described as serpent-like in his use of deception and lies to trick Eve. The bible does a wonderful job of explaining itself. We have to read it in its entirety and get out of the habit of focusing on single verses and running with them. In this case, the first three chapters of Genesis gives important information for one to understand what 3:1 is all about.

I do agree with Tyler its the most difficult to comprehend. God created man for his worship, and worship simply refers to a lifestyle of obedience, not question what God said. So in these chapter God's command was questioned hence man fell from his state of worship(refer to Psalms 100)The only condition to remain in his presence is Worship. The separation for Man was to no longer be in his present state of Worship

what fruit you touch or eat will make you die? The serpent says surely you won 't die, yet man does die. But, what is the fruit?
  • Rich on Genesis 3 - 9 years ago
The first lie the serpent made was to imply that we were not already like God. He made us in his likeness. The second lie was that God knows good and evil. Almost every day during creation, he saw that it was good and only good. God didn 't create evil, we did, by believing in it. The original mistake is judging good and evil, right and wrong, legitimate and illegitimate, valid and invalid, plant and weed, animal and vermin. Our suffering is caused by our judging.

In regards to Thulanes comment,God never Cursed Adam nor Eve.The curse was put on Satan and the Earth.Satan would have to crawl on his belly is the first curse and the earth would provide food for Adam but now it would be hard work for Adam and the curse is on the land and not Adam, and Eve would have pain in childbirth and Adam would be over her

I can remember as a new Christian only being familiar with the new testament I wondered about the usefulness of the old testament. As you begin to read the old testament you soon realize the Bible is a whole entity, and you understand cant the new testament without a clear understanding of the old, especially when it comes to the person of Christ and the prophecies concerning Him. I think of Genesis, 3: 15 where we find the first promise after the fall of a redeemer, or Genesis 3:21 where God provides the first blood sacrifice for man. In Genesis we see Abraham ready to slay Isaac his only son and it reads God will provide himself a lamb. When you visit the new testament we see John the Baptist saying Behold the lamb of God John 1:36, that this is God 's Lamb to take away the sins of the world. All through the old testament we see the suffering Messiah. A simple reading of Psalms 22 and you see Jesus on the cross 22:16 they pierced my hands and my feet. Some of the very conversations of this chapter were recorded in the Gospels 22:1 My God My God why hast thou forsaken me. Or 22vs 8. Then you move to Isaiah 53, He was wounded for our transgressions he was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement of our peace was upon him. This is only a fraction of the things that Jesus must of told these two men as they walked to Emmaus.

We can 't really speculate about what God would have done with Eve alone. Should Adam have refused to eat forbidden fruit. Because His ways are so far above ours. Certainly he knew they would sin against him before the creation. To me this demonstrates His amazing love for mankind. He knew all along that Jesus would have to come and go to that awful cross for us. The main purpose for the forbidden tree fruit was for man to freely choose to obey and love Him. God didn 't create robots.

  • Ron on Genesis 3 - 9 years ago
Paul says in Timothy the woman was first in transgression, but Adam also took and did eat at the hand of Eve. You know we have all sinned and come short of our all mighty God. Do you think God would have given Adam another wife? Second question, don 't you think God knows before it took place? We have an all knowing and all loving God. Even at the Garden, there was a Law. Satin got cast out of heaven because he transgressed God 's law. At that time Jesus expressed it as a law of Love. But at Siani it needed to be etched in stone with Gods own Finger. Do you think this is a stretch?

GEN 3--I wasn 't there either, but knowing what kind of Holy and just being God is, I think it is fair to say, "He wasn 't playing mankind like the stepford wives, " in other words God was not trying to create a robotic race of people that would only give him their devotion by fiat! God is fair and perfect in every way He has looked at every possible angle, every possibility, to be perfect an just, and has left every thing up to man woman to make a choice between obedience to God or give in to the subtlety of the temptation of the flesh but being of the Earth, there allegiance was to the flesh with a little coaxing, this was there downfall, God being the alpha omega knew that this would be the outcome, already had a plan in motion, to rectify mans self inflicted wound. Our Heavenly Father knew exactly what would happen with Eve and Adam, in the garden, God had to continue on to eradicate sin from it 's roots finally and forever which means destroying satan. Our only hope is we are to be Obedient to his Son and to His Commandments. AMEN!!

I can only say that I could respond to each of the three other comments posted, I 'm not. To night I almost did a great sin unto my self. I asked my grand parents and god to help me. while in the tub the only thing I could remember was genesis 3 6 2. I did not no if it was chapter and verse or what ever, I now know. First of all man can not understand god. That is why he sent his son to us. TO LET US KNOW TO HAVE FAITH!!! God put the fruit of knowledge to us for free will. he warned us of what could happen if it was eaten, Eve had a choose. she choose of her own free will to eat the fruit and when offered to adam. HE ALSO ATE

first of all not man can understand the ways of the LORD God, and secondly the bible said that Adam was with the woman and she handed to him the fruit
  • Kind on Genesis 3 - 9 years ago
One of the many things that I don 't understand is why there would be a tree of knowledge in the first place if God didn 't want them to eat from it. It seems like placing a bowl of candy in front of a 6 year old and saying, "don 't eat any of this ".

  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson on Genesis 3 - 9 years ago
Hello Kenneth E. Morse: No there was only one man and one woman in the Garden of Eden. However, one can deduce that Adam and Eve produced many children beside Cain, Abel, and Seth after they were kicked out of the Garden. After the flood and God destroyed all of mankind except the 8 members of Noah 's family then the world was repopulated by Noah 's sons, Genesis 9: 19 "These are the three sons of Noah: and of them was the whole earth overspread ". A woman can have many children if the Lord blesses her womb. To the wife of Feodor Vassilyev gave birth to 69 children.

Hello Griselda Bittinger We all agree that the serpent tricked Eve. We all agree that Satan is the father of lies. However, because of Adam sin man now learned of evil. Even though we want to blame everything on Satan some things man do on his own.
  • Griselda Bittinger on Genesis 3:14 - 10 years ago
so in Genesis 3 14 when the Lord tells the serpent ... because you have done this , you are cursed more than all cattle and more than every beast of the field. on your belly you shall go... let us think on these things, the serpent was once a beautiful angel cast out of heaven by God right? So when he decived Eve and made her eat of the fruit he was evil in doing so, as we are in doing evil towards the Lord our God, So would you not think He meaning God would not punish the Serpent like the snake he was and is today. I do! I believe that he is a lying ,slimy snake decieving who he can on this earth today as he did way back then to Eve. God bless you all and keep your eyes upward towards our reward is in Heavenly places and in JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD.

Hello P I submitted this 12 24 14. I do not know what happened to it. Part 2 of 3 Human beings want to blame everything on the devil, but not all things are the devils fault. Man s thoughts are wicked Genesis 6 5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. Mark 7 21 thru 23 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness All these evil things come from within, and defile the man . This is why when you repent you have to ask God to change your mind the way you think, act, and carry yourself. Philippians 2 5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson on Genesis 3 - 10 years ago
Part 3 of 3 No one knows what kind of fruit it was on that tree. Being angry at it or at Adam and Eve will not change the course of this world. We just need to thank God for his son that in him dwelleth all the fullness of the godhead bodily, Colossians 2 9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily . Jesus Christ who is God manifested in the flesh, 1 Timothy 3 16, gave us a way out by following Acts 2 38.

Part 1 of 3 Hello P Romans 5 12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned It was because Adam sinned that man s conscience was awakened to the knowledge of good and evil therefore, subjecting the world to manmade things such as war, poverty, prejudice, and such. Man s nature was changed Ephesians 2 3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others .
  • P on Genesis 3 - 10 years ago
If I understand this correctly, the reason we have disease, war, poverty, cruelty and misery in the world is because Adam and Eve ate some fruit they were told not to eat, which I understand to be the "fall of man " in the Garden of Eden. Does anyone know what kind of fruit it was so I know which one to get angry at when I go to the supermarket ?
