This scripture proves that people do not burn in a fiery hell. "For dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return," is fairly clear.

I feel the Satan hide himself using a serpent, i just only wish Eve would have been more on point i mean a snake talking to you, i would have found that really strange but we are all human and God is the perfect one, but thank him for grace and mercy. lets just pray for one another and agree on the internet prayer has no distance. we don't have to know one another just believe.
  • Shane on Genesis 3 - 11 years ago
When god said behold he has become as one of us to know good and evil : understand the snake or serpent was the devil even in his very name the devil has evil if you take that away , and God good? You see it's plain and simple he has become to know the specifics of knowledge good and evil therefore meaning to know there are two choices in life god and evil. The devil was with God in the beginning.
  • Frances on Genesis 3 - 11 years ago
when speaking one of us I believe he is talking about Jesus becauce Jesus was still with God at this point
  • Grace Christos on Genesis 3:1 - 11 years ago
The snake was more crafty than any other beast God made, does it mean there were other crafty animals?
  • Ian on Genesis 3 - 11 years ago
God offered Adam the chance to eat from the Tree of Life and live for ever to understand the joy that comes with the Good and all the pain and suffering with the Evil imagine that for Eternity !!! Now everyone suffers because He ( not just Adam this goes for everyone ) couldn't deal with his mistakes
  • Neil on Genesis 3:22 - 11 years ago
its well indeed lighting to imagine that god is talking about a possibility of other as he has mentioned us in other parts of the bible.

" one of us " I believe He refers to the Angels together

777Yeshua777: I think your theory regarding the creation of humans other than Adam and Eve does not withstand analysis. See Genesis 3:20: "And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living."
  • Verna on Genesis 3:1 - 11 years ago
I see the serpent appealing to the flesh of EVe, tempting her through the lust of the flesh the lust of the eyes and the pride of life. The battle is on to walk by the spirit or walk by the flesh.Eve believed Satan because she lusted after that which God said to not yield to.We live with the same choices everyday. Trust and obey God or yield to the lust of our flesh, lust of our eyes and the pride of our life.
  • Missy on Genesis 3 - 11 years ago
The seed of the women's heel will first be crushed by Satan. This was literally fulfilled on the cross of Calvary. but the prophesy also says the crushing of the head of the serpent, which is still future and will occur at the second coming of Christ.
  • Tonette on Genesis 3 - 11 years ago
TO ANSWER SCOTTS QUESTION;GOD GAVE THEM FREE WILL,THEY COULD HAVE OBEYED WHAT GOD SAID.THIS IS AN OLD SAYING,WHO'S YOUR DADDY?GOD OR SATAN/choose this day who you will serve.

  • Jose becerril on Genesis 3 - 11 years ago
shall ye touch lest ye die. on verse 3 the word touch in the Hebrew is (naga) lie with a woman or a man. and i can not find the fruit apple anywhere. so they sin and make aprons for their private parts where they have sin they did not made masks.
  • Vovo Johnson on Genesis 3:9 - 11 years ago
This a very touching verse, where Art thou. Where are you Adam. God continues to ask us as people on this earth. Where are you?
  • Pammy on Genesis 3 - 11 years ago
I do agree with Herman that God could have made hides without ever killing an animal...BUT the reason He did was to show that it took THE BLOOD to cover their sin....you see all through the Bible "under the law" you see where sacrifices were made unto God - under the law the blood sacrifice would cover sin for 1 year...but then God sent His Son Jesus Christ for our ultimate sacrifice - PRAISE GOD IT'S FOREVER PAST, PRESENT, AND FUTURE!
  • David on Genesis 3:15 - 11 years ago
I see the bible verse, but where is the scientific part where both man and women possess the seed of life discovered in the 17th century?
  • Dale on Genesis 3:9 - 11 years ago
men do not follow the lord because of sin. The Lord is waiting and calling. He is looking and wants to have fellowship with us. Such love the Father has for us. His love should constrain us to worship and serve Him.
  • End time bride on Genesis 3:15 - 11 years ago
The serpent had a seed..Cain. Follow the lineage of Cain and u will see it coming to head in the end time as the anti-christ. Why did JESUS SAY TO THE SCRIBES AND PHARISEES "U ARE OF YR FATHER THE DEVIL?
  • Scott on Genesis 3 - 11 years ago
I'm a little confused, why did God tell adam and eve not to eat of the tree of knowledge? If god is all powerful surely he could stop anyone he wanted from eating from it?
The answer to this could be that he wanted to keep free will as a factor, but again god is omnipotent so he could make it so they had free will and also didn't eat the fruit?

When they did eat from the tree of knowledge, shouldn't that be according to gods plan as nothing is outwith his knowledge or power?
So if his plan was to make Adam and eve eat the fruit anyway, why not just make them?
  • K S REDDY on Genesis 3:24 - 11 years ago
From wesley notes: "This signified the exclusion of him and his guilty race from that communion with God which was the bliss and glory of paradise."- Is Eden a paradise. I don't find the word in BIBLE upto Genesis 3.
  • Eugene Pitts on Genesis 3:15 - 11 years ago
I truly do not understand how Genesis 3:15 prophecises the coming of Christ. It seems to me like its a continuation of punishment of man and woman.
  • Herman German III on Genesis 3 - 11 years ago
I’ve also seen comments of God killing animals for their skin to cover Adam and Eve, but God made the flesh of man, the world, and the hides for the animals; He is powerful to make hides without ever needing an animal. But, maybe He did this to teach man how to cloth themselves.
  • Herman German III on Genesis 3 - 11 years ago
How stupid could Eve have been to be tempted, and then think about Adam listening to her versus God. They must of been the most moronic humans to ever have lived on this earth. But then again, how many times have I sinned when I knew not to. Except for Jesus Christ, we all failed the same test as Eve and Adam.
  • Martha Prince on Genesis 3 - 11 years ago
I believe what you are saying is answered in Matthew 7:7

Matthew 7:7 - Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

I like verse 11: “And he said, who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?” Who told thee that thou wast naked God tells us mankind to just ask and he will answer, but have sin nature that just won’t listen without pastors, friends and family approval. So this is what I get out of that question “who to told you this?” Was it God? Then listen to who told you that? Not me, not man, but God.
  • Mas on Genesis 3 - 11 years ago
    @Athony,
At creation and at man’s fall, God is using “us” (plural), God where there was no man may mean a plural of majesty, which shows God’s grandeur and the grandeur of the work He was in; creation.
It may also mean God speaking to other living creatures that were present there, like the angels of God.
Some say God was speaking to Jesus, but I don’t believe that. Because sure Jesus Christ is the firstborn of every creature ( Colossians 1:15); but that is in God’s prescience, God’s foreknowledge, just like God hath chosen us before the foundation of the world ( Ephesians 1:4).
    I hope this helps.
    God bless you.

Read in the context of Genesis 3:22, The Cherubims represent knowledge of which Adam and Eve had none. They were like innocent children knowing only the bliss in which they lived. In verse 22 God says: And the LORD God said, "The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever." Both of these refer to their ability to know the difference between good and evil. They could now make a choice. The key question of this significant part of the bible on which the major languages have based their teaching and guidance on in this: Who else was God referring to when he says "now they will be like one of US"?
