GEN 4-4-25...Dewey, your response to Michael could have a two fold explanation, which it is correct Adam named her Eve, meaning the mother of all living, it was also true that when Adam stated this he had already fallen from his original state of grace and obedience. And it takes just as much faith to believe that Cain was given a wife by God, as it does, that a daughter of Adam and Eve, a sister to Cain left her parents to pursue Cain in the land of Nod to marry him. And then to add the fact that Cain, his wife and offspring all perished in the flood. Still holding true to Adam 's meaning of Eve 's name, but also holding true to the possibility that God could have created a wife for Cain. I am just stating a possibility. What difference does it make anyway, it has no bearing on Salvation does it, I believe the word tells us to avoid these types of questions. PRAISE GOD, PRAISE YESHUA. AMEN!!

Michael, that question has long been a mystery to mankind. But we know the Bible speaks little of the brith and actions of women. It appears to me that God created only one Adam and one Eve whom Adam named the mother of all living. That being said this suggest that Eve is the mother of the wife of Cain also. Therefore, Cain seems to have married his sister as well as all men when the human race begin on earth married their sisters. Adam and must have reproduced many daughters. God bless our understanding of His Word.
  • Michael on Genesis 4 - 10 years ago
So where does Cain 's wife come from? I 'm guessing that God created more humans but the Bible never mentions this anywhere. I would think this would be a pretty important piece of information to have been left out of the very first mention of the creation of man.

It was very interesting to see, how everything came into play between Adam and Eve and how they fell from grace, going against God 's one command and Cain and Abel being polar opposites.
  • Jude on Genesis 4:9 - 10 years ago
God knew all that happened to Abel. But there is a meaning to the reply of Cain. Those whom has seen the light of Christ, the saved ones, those free from God 's judgment are also giving this same reply to this same question by God Almighty. We that are saved have our own siblings yet to repent, we see all these and yet remain still without spreading this good news rather we give excuses just the way Cain did. what we should take note should be the picture that has been drawn in the old testament.
  • John on Genesis 4 - 11 years ago
Dear Sharon. 1st John chapter 3 elaborates on this, particulary verse 12. Basically it says that that Cain 's works were evil and Able 's righteous. Hope this gives you a little more to go on!

WHEN GOD GIVE YOU THAT CHANCE TO DO BETTER TAKE IT. CAIN WAS JEALOUS HEARTED.

There were obviously other people living abroad from Adam and Eve, because Cain said, "Everyone that findeth me shall slay me. " Also, did Cain take a wife out with him, or did he marry a woman from the Land of Nod? If these other people were relatives of Adam and Eve, it seems that they would have been living in a family community with Adam and Eve. This leads me to ask the question of, "Did God create other humans besides Adam and Eve? " It seems like something is going on here that was either lost in translation, or God just did not go into details about this. This it not something that has been address by pastors as far as I know, but then what could they really say about it. It would have to be only their opinion, because the bible does not state anything more. We can only draw a conclusion that other people were certainly on earth during the same time that Adam, Eve, and Cain lived.

Jehovah God is all knowing. He already knew what Cain had done to his brother Abel. He just confronted Cain to give him a chance to use the free will that He Jehovah had given him as well as each and every human after the fall of his parents Adam and Eve. Genesis 4:10- And He Jehovah said: 'What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother 's blood crieth unto Me from the ground. Jehovah gave him the opportunity to confess his act of premeditated murder and would have forgiven him but Cain 's answer was to the contrary. That is why Jehovah said to Cain: 'Where is Abel your brother? ' And Cain replied: 'I don 't know am I my brother 's keeper? ' Thus Cain sealed his own fate. Jehovah at this point gave him justice.

GEN 4-9...Sorry its taken this long to reply, I see where you are going, but for one it does not say it was a sacrificial offering and it does not say it was a sin offering, which would have required the blood atonement. It was just an offering to the Lord, which did not require blood. There are many types of offerings and only a few require the blood. AMEN!!
  • Kelly on Genesis 4:14 - 11 years ago
Who are these other people that live outside of Eden? God created Adam, and from Adam He created Eve, Eve bore Cain, then bore Able whom Cain killed. So who is it that Cain is afraid will kill him if they see him?
  • Kelly Quinn on Genesis 4 - 11 years ago
All very interesting comments, but the truth be known Cain 's sacrifice was unacceptable because it contained no blood. Blood must be shed for the forgiveness of sin! If there were any other way, Jesus would not have had to shed blood on the cross.
  • RNM 4-23 GEN on Genesis 4 - 11 years ago
GEN 4-23...It 's really just my opinion, but looking at the whole scene logically, and knowing a little about what was expected from the sacrificial offerings of the Old Covenant, I think it is safe to assume Cain and Able knew enough of the Creator and the Royalty of HIM as GOD. That Able no doubt had brought for his offering the choicest calf of his flock pure, without blemish, going to great lengths to make his offering pleasing to his Heavenly Father. Where Cain probably had a different view of things for one being the older brother, there might have been some slight inner resentment toward his younger brother like it is in todays life, but ultimately it was all reflected in what he had put together for his offering, maybe a haphazard bunch of fruit or vegetables put together in a not to caring manner, and this displeased Our God. We know that Our Heavenly Father is Loving, Supremely Just, and Fair, BUT HE IS THE ALMIGHTY GOD, and it is our reasonable duty to treat HIM as such, at all times, no matter the consequences. But the bottom line is it all hinged on him doing well, as God explained to Cain afterward. AMEN!!

Reference to Genesis 4: were the "sons of God " from Space also known as space aliens?
  • RNM GEN 4 on Genesis 4 - 11 years ago
GEN 4-23...The word "again " just means repeat, or do over! You have this thing about changing God 's word! Why don 't you just write your own bible and be done with it.
  • Word on Genesis 4 - 11 years ago
The second verse should read and she continued in labor and bare Abel. That 's what that AGAIN means.
  • Rev. Tim George on Genesis 4:12 - 11 years ago
The death penalty was not instituted until after the flood. GOD wanted to show us the only way to curb evil is eye for an eye tooth for a tooth. When we Love GOD with all our heart, mind, and. Soul, then we will Love our brother who is made in the image of GOD. Therefore you will not murder your brother or sister.
  • Tc on Genesis 4 - 11 years ago
Why were they allowed to have 2 wives back then?
  • RNM GEN 4-----8 on Genesis 4 - 11 years ago
It 's not Biblical, but I think it safe to use a type of conjecture, that Adam and Eve, were the first humans created but maybe not the only that was created like Cain 's wife for example, GOD is a Creator that 's what he does, Creates. There is an example in the new testament by one of the Gospel writers comments of Jesus 's miracles, and said that if all the miracles had been recorded that Jesus had performed had been written down the Earth could not contain the Books. Well I believe It 's the same with the beginning, GOD has given us enough information, to either doubt it or to use that faith that he has measured out to us to believe, He is Master and GOD over all creation, and in my opinion, I don 't believe we should question the ALMIGHTY GOD! AMEN!!

Part 2 of 2: They do not want to hear what will happen if they do certain things in their lives. When they hear scriptures like Revelation 21: 7 and 8 or that homosexuality or liars God does not like, they want preachers to sugar coat the word for them. They want preachers to cater to their itching ears. They forget that the scriptures are for the following, 2 Timothy 3: 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: Sometimes truth hurts. Paul, the Gentiles Apostle, when he taught the Roman Church he did not sugar coat anything. He told them what was going to them. He gave instruction to the Corinthian Church correcting their walk as well.
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson on Genesis 4 - 11 years ago
Part 1 of 2: Hello Patricia Cannon: I do not understand your point. However, love does not mean that correction, and reproof is not done. You are right Jesus did things in love. However, he also got angry at man during his walk here on Earth and frustrated with man, Matthew 21: 12. Sometimes love hurts, especially when you are telling the truth. There have been times that they sought to kill Jesus because he told the truth, Luke 4: 30 is just one example. We are living in a time when people do not want to endure sound doctrine. They want teachers, preachers, and prophets to always speak of love, money, and prosperity, 2 Timothy 4: 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears

Good evening Ms. Chatauna Robinson, I must agree with regarding the Way of Jesus Christ Act 2:38 . Christ gave many examples of the natural worldly treatment between believers unbelievers and it was done in The Spirit of love.
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson on Genesis 4 - 11 years ago
Hello Ibrahim Leadley I would like to add one more comment. I cannot stress enough that true Christianity is following Acts 2 38. The only way to put on the name of Jesus Christ is through Acts 2 38.
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson on Genesis 4 - 11 years ago
Hello Ibrahim Leadley I believe in teaching the way Jesus Christ taught and was an example. He taught in the spiritual and the natural on what to do. This is why we also follow the Apostles Doctrine because the Bible teaches us how to live and treat people. We can talk about whatever you like, but I do not know if they will allow all post to be posted. I do not pull any punches when it comes to the word of God. I do not sugar coat anything. Sometimes they do not print everything I say. I have discussed issues about wages and how people should treat people today. If I can say it like this religion has many institutions up under its name, but Christianity, true Christianity means to be Christ like, follow the Apostles Doctrine, and believe in One Lord, one faith, and one baptism, Ephesians 4 5.
