    Hi Giannis,

That's ok if you perceive the idea of God creating other intelligent life as being inconsistent with Genesis. It does seem from Genesis that its focused on just earth and heavens. Whether the heavens means the entire universe (everything God created) I don't know. So, I understand your viewpoint because I felt the same way. I don't have the same stumbling block as what you're presenting though in regards to multiple saviors and how that seems improbable. It's a strange idea indeed. But if there's evidence of other life it no longer seems as improbable.

There already have been alien-type creatures on earth before- remember the Giants the Bible talks about. Some call them nephilim Genesis 6:4. A possible hybrid of either demons or angels coming to earth and reproducing. They weren't 100% human, and one could say they're in a sense from another world and basically an alien-being to us. So, did Jesus die for them too? Did Jesus die for angels already in heaven?

Not sure if you're aware of the large unexplained crop circles in south America or not. It would be incorrect to say there's no evidence of such phenomenon.

If there's evidence that God created more intelligent life besides human beings then I can accept and don't feel threatened by that- I don't see that changing my Christian walk or values. I think humans are only allowed to see and comprehend a very narrow sliver of God and His creation. Colossians 2:2-3. There is a lot more than we understand. So, in heaven I think we'll be blown away to see a fuller view of His power and glory and what He's done. God bless.

    Psalm 2 discussion

Whatever the cause of such insanity; likely direct DNA manipulation from the mark of the beast much like the corruption when the "sons of god" had relations with women in Genesis and had offspring ( Genesis 6:2) and/or the mind control from the image of the beast somehow directed by some virtual reality it is clear that once man starts to attempt to band together to fight God it is a hopeless situation. Once again; however Satan's masterpiece of authority over the earth runs the course determined by God and no doubt there is no love lost when Satan is cast into the bottomless pit the same time the Beast and False Prophet are tossed into the fire. Satan's character won't change in the whole 1000 years imprisoned as he will attempt one more worldwide rebellion after the Millennium.

His power; of course is in willing subjects. There are many today who may acknowledge that they are sinners; but not that Satan is their master. There no doubt are some dedicated Satanists who are determined that they will soon fight Christ and God. They probably will have some deluded concept that they succeeded in killing Christ the first time and deny His indestructible Resurrection and somehow think they can now succeed in destroying an Omnipresent; Omnipotent and Omniscient God.

God takes no pleasure in the destruction of the wicked ( Ezek. 33:11). In this case; however the madness of their folly is laughed at. They are beyond any fear at this point; totally controlled by Satan. He who destroyed cities and made the world a wilderness ( Isaiah 14:17) is now cast out of his grave (Antichrist here; who is not given honor of a burial and verse 21 talks about the slaughter of his children (likely those at Armageddon). Satan is burned up before the earth later as well ( Ezekiel 28:18). Many other scriptures talk of Armageddon as well.

Verses 10 to 11 may be talking about rulers that survive physically into the Millennium and or the saints of God who rule

Hello Andrew. Further to T. Levis list of Scriptures given for your consideration, Genesis 5:28-32 specifically details Noah's father & Noah's sons. Noah wasn't of angelic origin but clearly had a human ancestry.

Why did GOD destroy the earth except Noah & his family = reply : Genesis 6:5,6,7,8,

Please read again Genesis 6, look back to Genesis 4:26, Genesis 5, Job 1:5,6, Job 1:20-22 continues to Job 2:1, John 1:12, Romans 8:14, Philippians 2:15, Hebrews 1:4,5,6,7

    Angels aren't Sons of GOD 1Corinthians 6:3,

In KJV 1611 Tobit 3, Tobit 7, Tobit 12, are the only thing even close & there was not what you stated in these scriptures. Mark 12:25, notice the scriptures here are relevant to Tobit; Mark 12:18-25,

    Hello, Steven,

I grew up in the 60's and 70's with the big push to explore space. I remember the moon landing and am amazed by the pictures we receive from telescopes from crafts launched into outer space.

But with this as part of my life's experience, I just feel deep down that God gave us earth to live upon. It is where He reveals Himself and works with mankind, not outer space. I think of the billions of dollars spent on the space programs, and consider how much good we could have done on earth for those in need with these resources. I am sure that we may have some benefits from exploring space, but I don't know if what we have benefited outweighs the detriment. I guess I just don't think that God ever wanted us to bring anything from space to earth, nor for man to go into space.

I know that our inquisitiveness and intellect are good things bestowed on us from God. Yet, the fallenness of mankind has corrupted these abilities to an immense depth of depravity, as it says in Genesis 6:5-6 of unredeemed human nature: the wickedness of man was great in the earth and that every intent of the thoughts of his hearts was only continually evil." ."

And in Genesis 11: 6 the LORD says that "Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do, now nothing that they propose will be withhold from them." (Meaning that whatever they can think of to do they can accomplish it.)

So, our exploration of space is really from an unredeemed standpoint. What are we trying to prove or discover, really? If man is really trying to prove the existence of God by space exploration, they won't discover that since man does not believe what God has already revealed about Himself in our history and Scripture. Are the scientists that are working on this exploration Christian believers influenced by Christian thought? If not, then their endeavors are evil, just like at Babel. I think that instead of trying to satisfy a curiosity of "what is out there"

There was a 2nd influx Genesis 6:4 There were Nephilim in the earth in the days of Noah; (after) their destruction by the Flood, as well as (before) it, when the angels came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

    Dave,

I'm not sure if your question was about GOD or man. I will try my best to answer it. Ironically " ambiguous " meaning double meaning._._

I think that GOD's WORD the Bible is clear, when we study, & pray for wisdom. James 1:5,

1st GOD gave people dominion: Genesis 1:26,27,28, = power, dominion ect. Within 2nd Generation & continued; 1st crime: Genesis 4:6-9, & Genesis 4:23, dominion with disregard for others, even anothers very life. Genesis 6:5, Exodus 1:8,13,16,22, even disregard for life of children

Even then though GOD doesn't disregard HE repayed. Exodus 12:29, Exodus 13:15, notice the whole chapter of Exodus 12, points to John 3:15,16,17, Again people with dominion & power disregarding life of innocent: Luke 22:1,2,7,20,54,63,64, continued; Luke 23:1,2,15,21,33,34,

Also: they killed their own children, Leviticus 18:21, Leviticus 20:1-8, that GOD had destroyed nations for that sin! 1Kings 11:7, 2Kings 23:10,

Jeremiah 32:35, ( how? ) it's unimaginable even to GOD ALMIGHTY ! Jeremiah 7:31, Jeremiah 19:5, 2Chronicles 33:9, 1Kings 11:1-12, Deuteronomy 6:14, Deuteronomy 7:1-8, why? Was it because they destroyed the children, had disregard for innocent lives of their own offspring? Images of GOD

Psalms 82:6, in context Psalms 82,

    GOD will Judge: Matthew 25:31-46, Matthew 18:5,6,10,14, Matthew 19:14, Mark 9:42, Luke 17:2, 2Peter 2:7-9, Psalms 9:7,

If your question is regarding "us" "believers" Luke 12:32, Revelation 21,

There will be suffering here on Earth but promises to those who endure, Matthew 24, Mark 13, Revelation 10, 2Timothy 2:3, Revelation 6:9-11,

    Hopefully these are helpful

Dear "Fannie Cross-Sullivan", in peace. We learn it because we must have hope. Our hope is that Jesus Christ, who conquered death, we will also go there. Where Jesus are. We shall not see death.

If you imagine a person who is sick, for example, and is about to die. As we say here on earth. This person belive in Jesus Christ and has repented from a destructive life, to faith in Jesus Christ. If Iinow immediately give you a different picture of death, but then without God. Can you see the difference here? We humans are a detriment to ourselves, we have been from the very beginning. Now it has become worse.

So God the Father Himself had to change everything when He make Heaven and earth, because of man. Remember He repented of it. Genesis 6:6

The day you are referring to will be a terrible day, everyone should know what a fire can do.

This is how it is that we believe in God the Father and in His Son Jesus Christ, then our life will be filled with hope for Life itself. We shall live even if we lay down our mortal body. Matthew 24:35 The best example is found in John 20:1-10 and the story of Lazarus when Jesus raises Him from the dead after he had lain dead for several days. John 11

The day that will come when the firmament and the mountains will crumble. When God will put everything in order again, this time there will be no regrets, but Perfection. That is what Christ Jesus did. But as we know, everything takes time.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 Jesus does not wish us harm, He loved us with divine love. believe in Him for your own sake. Fear is cast out when you are with Jesus Christ. Only love will keep you alive that day. God's Word and faith in Jesus. Hebrew 4:12-13 But we stick to Jesus. He fills us with peace, so that we all survive the day. I belive that from the bottom of my heart.

Hope this help u, remember to always go to Jesus if u have a problem, He will sort everything out for u in His time, Amen. Jesus loves u i love u in Christ

Dear "Tonisha Manning", there is a part and define in the word fear. It doesn't have to come from the Lord exactly, but we must fear Him. And fear He is right. (Who are we to command the Lord God)? Genesis 6:2

We can also fear When something happens to us, for example. We startle when we fall and then deep down we are afraid of breaking our arms and legs.

Some people are very afraid of themselves, they fear most things will happen to them. It is probably a spiritual thing that can be driven out with prayer and fasting. That fear can perhaps be said to be from the Lord because He also has helpers to get us onto the right path.

Stay strong in the word og God and He bless u and yours, love u in Christ.

Great decision, to read throughout the Bible!!

Please start with : James 1:5,

It's amazing over many years of reading, rereading & studying, GOD can teach us something new every time. Hopefully you'll continue to read it several times.

    Son's of GOD = Genesis 6:2, notice: Genesis 4:26, = John 1:12, Romans 8:14, Philippians 2:15, 1John 3:1, 2

Job 1:6, Job 2:1, = notice the vrs. right before, Job 1:5, & right before, Job 2, Job 1:20-22, Revelation 12:10,

Hopefully these are helpful in your study

    Randy,

A Christian since 1968, very encouraging! Especially that you're reading throughout the Bible again into study! I hope you'll keep us in your study as you go. Many of us enjoy deep study & thought in the WORD of GOD.

There seems to be several scriptures to verify your thought, of multiple people: Genesis 1:27, let them have dominion over ._... fish, of the sea, fowl of the air, over every living thing, that moveth upon the earth.

    Genesis 4:1,2,8,13,14, Notice Genesis 4:13-17, Genesis 4:25,

also notice by now to continue for some people to try to say "only Adam & Eve" would be to ignore all the facts of other people listed.

    Genesis 4:19,23,24,

Genesis 5:1-2, interestingly they both male & female named "Adam"

If you look in the Concordance by clicking on Genesis 1:27, man = mankind, human spelled English translated = the Hebrew name Adam sounds (aw-dawm)

Please also notice Genesis 6:5,7,12,17, why would GOD destroy the whole earth if only Adam & Eve, 1 lineage which is listed in the records of Genesis were only on Earth?

    Genesis 5:3, Genesis 2:7,8,15,22, Romans 5:14, 1Corinthians 15:45, 1Chronicles 1:1, Luke 3:21-38,

Sometimes we have to ask questions

    1st does an interpretation represent GOD's Laws, standards, examples? Leviticus 20:17, 1Corinthians 10:13, James 1:13-15, Proverbs 11:1,

2nd What is the main points GOD is pointing us to? Romans 5:17-21,

3rd, does it feel right, truthful, honest in our spirit? John 14:26,27, James 1:5, 1John 2:27-29,

I believe the reason anyone has questioned outside what is written, is because false teaching: Note: 1John 2:26-29, 2Peter 2:1, 2Timothy 3:1-5,

    1John 4:1, 1Timothy 6:3-6,

Hopefully these are all helpful in your study

Hello, today i have decided to read through the bible starting from the beginning to the end, which I have never done before.

Naturally I have a few questions and I would like to think about them before moving on.

1: In Genesis 1:26 God said "let us create man in our image". Who are the "us" and "our" in this sentence? Then in Genesis 1:27 "he created male and female" I thought this was Adam and Eve, however in Genesis 2:7 it goes on to say that "on the seventh day that God rested. However it goes on to say that he created man from the dust of the ground". Further, it states in Genesis 2:22 that he then created woman. Were these different sets of people?

2: Genesis 4:5 Why did the Lord not have any respect for Cains' offering? The bible does not offer any explanation?

3: Genesis 4:15 What kind of mark did the lord place upon Cain after he slew his brother Abel?

4: Genesis 6 Who are the "sons of God" who took themselves daughters of men? And who were the giants mentioned in Genesis 6:4?

Thank you to anyone who is able to answer some or all of these questions for me. I am in no hurry to rush through all of the chapters and would just like to gain a better understanding before I proceed. Thank you and God bless.

    Hello Fabian TAIMABRI,

    Genesis 1:27, notice: Genesis 1:26,28,29,

Genesis 2:7, interestingly here "formed, breathed life" is this symbolic of the Church the body of Christ to come? John 12:25, Genesis 3:22, John 5:26, John 5:24, John 3:36, John 6:48,54, Titus 1:2, Romans 8:6, John 5:39,

Is chapter 2, symbolic of the stewardship of GOD's Church? Genesis 2:15, Matthew 20:8, Luke 12:42, Mark 12,

Back to Genesis 1, "man appears to be collective for both" yes in name like human, humanity, humankind "man"

see even more interesting = Genesis 5:2,

GOD says distinctly female & male Genesis 1:27,

It appears it could be those created to multiply, fill the earth, subdue were away from the presence of GOD, again seeming to point to the symbolism in the garden "in the presence of GOD " His church. Genesis 3:8, Genesis 3:23-24, Genesis 4:14-16,

    Genesis 2:17, spiritual death? Matthew 8:22, Luke 9:60, Matthew 22:32, Matthew 23:27,

In the forming of Eve, it appears also specific, spiritual & special with symbolism, Genesis 2:21-25, Genesis 6:1-3, Mark 10:4-9, 1Corinthians 6:15, Revelation 21:2,9, Isaiah 62:5, John 3:29-36, Matthew 22, Luke 12:36, Ephesians 5:30-32,

    Genesis 3,

The fruit was of the "tree of the knowledge of good & evil"

Genesis 2:9 " And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food, the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil"

    Genesis 2:15-17, Genesis 3:22

It is symbolic, spiritual & seemingly literal. If it were an apple tree, or fig I believe it would have said. See Matthew 21:19, Genesis 1:11,

Knowledge of good and evil, yet GOD's Word says the things of evil, we shouldn't learn. Genesis 6:5, Genesis 48:16, Exodus 32:2, Numbers 13 -14, Deuteronomy 1:39, (in context Deuteronomy 1:20-40 ) Hebrews 10:22, James 1:13-27,

    Romans 16:19-20

    James 1:5,

Many see a different God today, but are driven away, becouse of the eval who is in them and the eval in the spiritual world, who every one not see. Ephesians 6:12-19 W e all need to come thru in Jesus.

I know nice ppl who have going too church for 40 years and they have the holy spirit in one way, but are bounded in television and work. I belive that God have a place for them. What i try to tell is: Not everybody sees the Spirit of the Holy. And remember we have all different work in the Lord. 1 Corintihans 12 And in that the eval can grow if they dont stop it by a gift they have. A friend may se it and pray to stop it.

    Galatians 6:2

Thats why Paul continue to tell us, dont give up! We must be standfast in the Word of God and dont complane. And Love Jesus and all ppl, and rases.

God bless us all in Jesus name, love u in Christ

Dinosaurs existed before the flood and to a lesser extent after the flood. The record found in fossils indicates that the present planetary ecosystem is incapable of producing and supporting large bodied reptiles and mammals.

Apparently, before Noah's flood destroyed the antediluvian ecosystem, the earth could produce large bodied long living reptiles that we call dinosaurs (a word which means a fearful or monstrous lizard). The word of God states that not only did all humans, except eight, were destroyed by the flood, but also the earth itself was wrecked ( Genesis 6:13).

The first possible mention of dinosaurs in the Bible is in Job 40. God, speaking directly to the patriarch Job, challenges him regarding a mysterious beast known as the Behemoth. Now behold the behemoth, which I made along with you; he eats grass like an ox; See, now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the muscles of his belly. He moves his tail like a cedar; the sinews of his thighs are knit together. His bones are like tubes of bronze; his ribs are like bars of iron. ( Job 40:15 - 18, HBFV, see also verses 19 to 24)

The second possible reference to huge, now extinct dinosaurs is in Job 41. God, again speaking directly to Job, challenges him regarding his ability to catch or tame a creature referred to as Leviathan. Can you draw out the leviathan with a hook, or hold down his tongue with a cord? Can you put a ring into his nose, or pierce his jaw with a gaff hook? . . .Will you play with him as with a bird? Or will you bind him for your maidens? . . . ( Job 41:1 - 2, 5, also see the rest of the chapter).

The third possible reference to these large reptiles is in Genesis 1:21 where it states that God created "great sea creatures." Many Scriptural scholars feel that these references are talking about the hippopotamus, crocodile, whale or other large known animal. Other scholars of a more scientific mind suggest that these verses are actually referencing dinosaurs.

Hi Mary. The Bible tells us in Genesis 6:10 that Noah's children were only three sons. No mention is made of any daughters. Then the Apostle Peter confirms this in 1 Peter 3:20, "...when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water." Here we read, that eight people were only on the ark (plus the animals), & these were Noah, his wife, his three sons & their wives ( Genesis 6:18). So, I think it's safe to assume that Noah didn't have any daughters.

I see no reason to avoid Biblical subjects that are not specifically dealing with the issue of salvation. I also see no reason to assume the offspring of the daughters of men in Gen 6 were only half human and did not inherit sin from Adam.
  • Ronald Whittemore - In Reply on Genesis 6 - 2 years ago
    Hey Marke,

That's fine, the angels being the sons of God and mating with women is a subject that has no bearing on our salvation. May the Holy Spirit lead us and guide us in the discussions that we do in humility and love toward each other so that we all may grow.

Your other point on sin being passed down from the man is a different discussion that if you post it others may have some helpful replies. I know Adam was not deceived 1 Timothy 2:14 and in Adam, all die 1 Corinthians 15:22.

Eve also ate of the tree, she was not born of man, was she not under the same curse? Was it a curse on mankind as a whole without having it passed down to them from dad or mom? Is the sin nature a sin? Jesus had to have the ability to sin to fulfill the covenant, Hebrews 4:15. Just a couple of questions may others give you answers.

    God bless,

    Reply to Ronald Whittemore.

I don't believe angels can have sex with humans and produce offspring, but if they did their offspring would not have been human sinners who inherited their sin from Adam.
  • Ronald Whittemore - In Reply on Genesis 6 - 2 years ago
    Hey Mark,

The times of Noah were horrendous as in Genesis 6:11. As you said sons of God are used 5 times in OT Genesis 6 Job 1 Job 2 and Job 38 all referring to angels. It is used 6 times in the NT John 1 Romans 8 Philippians 2 and 1 John 3, my understanding is referring to those who have accepted and have faith in Jesus.

There are many opinions on fallen angels, devils/demons. There are evil beings on this earth today, we see in Daniel battles that may be going on that we are not aware of, Daniel 10. There is a set of angels that were different and for what they did, God locked them in chains of darkness until the judgment 2 Peter 2:4 Jude 1:6, and others can still roam the earth.

In verses 6:4 daughters of men having children, they became mighty men of old. The Hebrew word for old is m-'-w-lm, meaning defined as long duration, antiquity, futurity, for ever, ever, everlasting, evermore, perpetual, old, ancient, or world. It was translated everlasting 110 times, forever 136 times.

Giants we see before and after the flood as said in Genesis 6:4 "and also after that". The word giant is Nephilim and also the Rephaim (or Rephaites, the terrible ones), You can find them throughout the OT and their descriptions are not just a tall big man, Numbers 13:33 Amos 2:9 and more.

When God created everything the seed is after his kind, a dog will have a dog, a bear will have a bear, and so on, a man and woman may have a tall big man but it will not be a giant. Angels can on earth have a body that can eat, and drink, Genesis 18, fiscally wrestle Genesis 32 and we are told how we should entertain strangers because they may be an angel, Hebrews 13.

Just a few things you may look at. If an angel left his first estate and came down to earth could he mate? Was that why God locked them in darkness and other bad angels and Satan can still roam the earth? After the flood, there were only 8 where did these giants come from?

    Interesting subject,

Dear "John", That was a good question. Hope you get more answers that are grounded in the Word dear friend. Just want to give you a new thought here. But God actually repented that He created man in any case! I advise you to go ahead and not think so much about things that are difficult right now. Because you find out. He who seeks he finds.

    Genesis 6:6 Matthew 18
