This was the reason why there was no longer giants animal lives among us today, since they all wiped out from the earth when there were flood for over more than 5 months on earth. Noah did not bring them to the ark, because the ark wouldn't fit for gigantic animals.
@Peter,
Sure a 600 year man did that. Using all materials from his vicinity, there were no scarcity of material as we now have, rain forests were still untouched, so it was just a matter of cutting and assembling.
600 years old is very very old age compared to our days, but not to theirs. Just like Moses, the Bible says ‘’ And Moses was an hundred and twenty years old when he died: his eye was not dim, nor his natural force abated.’’
Those people truly walked with God who was their strength.
God bless you.
Adamite civilization was much larger than today’s due to nature, not satanic interbreeding, we are sometimes told of finding skeletons in excess of 17 feet tall, comparing that cubit by today’s standards would be nearly incalculable.
@Doubting Thomas,
Definitely the Bible does NOT contradict itself because these are GOD’s words and in every way he´s perfect (No Mistakes). It’s just the way we as people read his word, just ask God to help you get a more clear understanding of the word.
@Peter,
Of course there was not such a story like Santa Claus's sled. Not only the possibility of containing pairs of species and even seven pairs of pure ones could be questioned sense knowledge wise, but also the means to bring them to Noah and finally in (not ON) the Ark. All such are questions that need answers.
Now you can find the dimensions of the Ark in Genesis 6:15, and convert them to our current measuring units to see how unthinkably huge was that ship… But how did Noah manage to draw pairs of each specie in the Ark? It is unimaginable, but above all we can understand, GOD was in charge of HIS own business, Noah was there just for implementation, but the project was GOD’s…
GOD bless you.
How did Noah fit all of those animals on the ark ? If an atheist ever asks you that question, here is your reply:
The ones that couldn't fit rode in Santa Claus's sled.
To doubting Thomas: The additional animals by sevens told to Noah, by God were to be used for eating & for sacrificing to God, see Gen 8: 20-22. there is no contradiction, both numbers apply. the twos were to be used to replenish the Earth.
The important thing to remember about the commands that were given to Noah,is that he obeyed all that God had commanded him to do, from gathering the animals two of each kind, to building the ark. Eight souls were saved because of Noah's obedience to the word of God. Noah was righteous, because in faith he believed, and acted according to the commands of God. We too must be like Noah, and believe that Jesus is the only way, the truth, and the life. No man comes to the Father except by Him. God is not going to destroy the world with a flood next time, but with fire. II Peter 3 tells about this, and God is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance. Who has believed the report? To whom shall the arm of the Lord be extended? Without faith, it is impossible to please God, for he that comes to Him must believe that He is, and will reward those who diligently seek Him. So let us not try to understand all of the particulars, but let us obey the commands.
St Luke 17.30 is fulfilled in our days since the Son Of Man has come as he promised in the the days when he walked on before his death and ascent to heaven. Gen 7 warns us to hear the voice of Elijah the prophet who is a type of Noah and come to Christ before the door who is Christ is shut. The world is in sordomite condition and the holy fire of God will consume the proud and ungodly whose hearts are hardened by the god of this evil world. There will be repeat when all that is abominable on the surface of the earth and this time even under the waters will be consumed by fire from God. Hide your righteous in thy ark of ages oh loving Father in heaven
in Gen 6,GOD instructed noah to build an ark 300 cubits long,50 cubits wide,and 30 cubits high,and in Gen 7,after the rain is mentioned the water went up only 15 cubits high and all the mountains were covered. WOW its hard to fathom an ark twice as high, as the highest mountain.to build such an ark, those eight people had great lungs and stamina,wow is all i can say,...something wrong here?
Everyone sees the destruction of man and all thing with the breadth of life in this chapter but I see a new beginning, a newness of life...and I'm keying into Vs 11....the 17th day in the second month after my birthday as a remarkable day in this year 2012 shall be a remarkable day in my life, I have told God about it and I want all true believers (those who believe in their hearts and have confessed with their mouths that Jesus is Lord and the Messiah of all mankind) to agree with me concerning this day in Jesus name, Amen. God bless you all....Jesus reigns for ever!!!
Tyrone washington jr. on Genesis 7:15 - 13 years ago
god please make tht way n my ship to continue with my bless...my mind,heart,family,all things ,jobs,everything,amen, but genesis is about faith n wisdom ,knowledge,understanding...
God asked Noah's t bring in clean and unclean animals onto the Ark. How did Noah kew which is clean and which is unclean, because the bible didn't define clean and unclean until after Noah's life?
Jimmy's Genesis asks if Methuselah died in the Flood. Probably not. How do we know? Because of his name. "Methuselah" literally means "His death shall bring". It doesn't say WHAT it shall bring, but it is true that if you do the mathematical calculations of the genealogical table in Genesis, you find that Methuselah does indeed die in the same year as the Flood.
You also discover that Methuselah is the longest-lived man in the Bible.
So, with the naming Methuselah, God gives a warning to the world "His death shall bring..." the end. But with the length of Methuselah's life, we see how long-suffering and patient God is with man, even in all of human sinfulness. God pronounces the doom: the death of THIS man shall be the stroke of the clock that unleashes the end of the world (by Flood), but in the length of Methuselah's life, we see God drawing out that thread longer than ever before, reluctant to cut it and thereby have to be true to his word.
But in the end God does cut the thread of Methuselah's life, and in that name itself we can practically see the scene. As the elderly Methuselah closes his eyes and releases his final breath, the skies open up and the earth cracks open and the waters pour out upon the earth.
One thing is certain, that the lord killed all except the people and animals in the ark. That means men, women, children, newborns, the cripple so on and so forth. SO for the people that just believe that the lord will not end this world for the second time you need to take heed. As Jesus said the end is at hand.
Also, in Genesis 7:2 Noah was told to gather 7 pairs of the clean beasts and only 2 of the unclean pairs. This was way before Moses on Mount Sinai and the giving of the law, yet Noah knew which animal was which.
To me this shows that the law was in effect at least that far back, and most likely as far back as Eden. The reason I say that is Cain killed Abel - a sin of murder. Abel gave a proper sacrifice of a lamb, and it was pleasing - just like the law states to do. He doesn't change. Nothing in Scriptures contradicts itself.
TWO BY TWO - is the order inwhich they entered the ARK. Most people if you ask them, what two by two means pertaining to the NOAH they would say, "Thats how many of each species were taken into the ark". They do not understant of the clean by 7s each male and female.
THE BREATH OF LIFE: People amaze me when SCIENTIST fine a FISH that is close to a million years old.
GOD wiped out everything that had the BREATH OF LIFE; not the FISH.
So the next time someone make a discovery of a FISH that is told to be close to 2-3 millions years old, don't show your ignorance. Just say, "GOD".
Gen.1:6-8 defines "the firmament" as "heaven", which I think means atmospheric heaven (not outer space, not Heaven-God's throne place.) Gen 1:6-8 describes "waters above the firmament" and "waters under the firmament".
Therefore I should visualize waters above the atmospheric heaven, much more than clouds.
Then in Genesis 7,
Genesis 1:6-8 "And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which [were] under the firmament from the waters which [were] above the firmament: and it was so. And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day."
Elements of Genesis 1:6-8:
"firmament" is "Heaven". Seems to me that this means the atmospheric heaven.
1. "Waters which were above the firmament": seems to be signficant water up there, more than modern day clouds.
2. "waters which were under the firmament": seems to be surface waters plus subterranean water.
Then the water in Genesis 7 came from both places:
2. "were all the fountains of the great deep broken up" (some of the waters below the firmament),
1. "and the windows of heaven were opened" (the windows let through the waters from above the firmament).
I often wonder how all this took place seeing as how diverse life is on Earth. I question in my mind how so many animals fit on the ark, but I accept it with faith that this did happen. Many American Native tribe can tell in there own legends the same story of the flood. I marvel at this witness to G-d.
It appears that Methuselah, the grandfather of Noah, died in the flood. Based on my calculations, Methuselah's death and the start of the flood happened in the same year. Granted, Methuselah could have died months, weeks, or even days before the flood.
I see what you are saying about the first creation of people. I respectfully disagree. I think the Lord simply goes into more detail "it is not good that man should be alone . . ." But be that as it may, we can see for a certainty that Noah's grandchildren must have married their cousins. For according to Genesis 7:13 Noah and his wife, the three sons and their wives entered the ark. When they left the ark, there were no other humans on the earth. All flesh not on that ark had died. So it is no stretch of the imagination for me to believe that Noah's grandchildren married close kin. This practice continued during the time of Abraham ( Gen. 20: 12) married to his half sister; Isaac married to a cousin in Gen. 24, 25; Jacob married to cousins Leah and Rachel. But I am glad you are still studying! God bless you!
I remember the first revelaTION that all people will not be saved. I always thought that someway somehow we all will believe giving today technology. It grieves me and bring such sorrow that there will be those given all that he gaves us to see and understand will not accept it. This has made me ubderstand the urgency even more deeply and to ask for spiritual wisdom so that I can show who our Father is . Believe for our own sakes, the knowledge will come later. You can not understand faith until you accept Jesus Christ as your savior. So many people want all the answers first but thats pride. You have to believe first that He is and all things will be given to you.
Sure a 600 year man did that. Using all materials from his vicinity, there were no scarcity of material as we now have, rain forests were still untouched, so it was just a matter of cutting and assembling.

Gen 7:2-3 says clean beasts & fowl are to be taken by sevens. Gen 6:19 says to take two of everything.
Which is it? Even if this is true, both can't be right.

Do you know cockroaches date back to 300-million-year. Can you tell me when did god wiped out all of "BREATH OF LIFE" animals?
I think it was only localised, not the entire world.
THE BREATH OF LIFE: People amaze me when SCIENTIST fine a FISH that is close to a million years old.
