1 John 4:4 begins with the testing of the spirits, as there are many that are in the world. The Spirit of God indwells every true born again believer, but other spirits can still have sway in believers' minds and lives. The apostle John here is both warning and encouraging his readers that God's Spirit in them will always lead them into Light and Truth, which is what Christ's servants, the apostles, were endeavouring to do. Yet there were many other voices trying to persuade and lead believers away from the Truth to believe lies as Truth; this, says John, are false spirits: the spirit of Anti-Christ. And don't we see so much of it today: sin clothed in the garb of goodness.

    can you explain the verse....

Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Seeing Wesley's comment, regarding this verse, I am encouraged that our God makes room for His people by forcing the pestilence ahead of Him. Even if the many English translations I can read are not 100% clear to me, I would still want to pray to & follow the only God that plagues and pestilence listen to and obey. ? Only a foolish person would want this God as their enemy. Remember,?One Way, Jesus!?

. Habakkuk 3:17-18 Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there be no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, YET I WILL REJOICE IN THE LORD, I WILL BE JOYFUL IN GOD MY SAVIOR.....What ever we are going through these day let us continue to rejoice in the Lord our savior.

Let it be known that the horns coming out of the hands can also mean a glowing, some translations say moses had "horns" when he came down with the commandments but in KJV he came down having a glow upon him and not horns.

What we cannot see God doing for us is more than what He reveals to us. My father is working always Jesus said. God is doing everything new and when He is done we shall marvel being it in our lives or in the church or in the world; He will do it very well. We believe Him for His word. And we rejoice greatly in the Lord our God. He is our strength and our salvation.

Comment*God's work is the exercise of His goodness and power on behalf of His people. The prophet voices one of the greatest expressions of undaunted faith. The prophet declares that although everything fails, he will trust in Jehovah. No affliction however severe or trying can separates us (we believers) from our Lord.

The fig trees, the olive oil, the cattle were all external things. The strength the child of God needs is not dependent upon these things. There is strength God can give despite what we may or may not have. We have to position ourselves in the spirit of Shigonoth, position ourselves in powerful praise until we experience the reviving work of the Holy Ghost!

This is the hall of faith.Every christian at a point in time goes through hard time or times the foundation of man is broken.Never the less there is no way to quit,or be embittered, or yield to self pity.God who make solid foundation and even call things that are not there as though as they were will sure prove Himself stronger than before.
  • Ora carlisle on Habakkuk 3:3 - 9 years ago
this scripture says God, the God of our fathers, discovered himself from Teman, but my understanding is that no one knows where God comes from that this is a prayer from Habakkuk,God is the beginning and the ending, therefore, he didn 't say my beginning starts from Teman, am I wrong or correct.
  • Lilian on Habakkuk 3 - 9 years ago
Jesus taught us to walk with FAITH and NOT by Sight. Jesus ways are higher than our ways and his thoughts are higher than our thoughts. Whatever trouble, tribulation we may encounter they are only temporary. God revealed himself that he is God who can make all things to be restore. We must believed on him and trust him only as nothing is impossible as he promised. He is loving God forever.
