On verse 18,
1. I agree with what Timothy had to say in response to Brother on his marriage situation, but there is more Timothy should be doing beside praying;
2. It is difficult giving relationship advice without being able to sit down and talk with both parties involved;
3. God always has solutions to every situation, but they are usually not so simple because of our sinful nature and after we have made decisions without proper biblical counseling with God and the man of God with the holy scriptures at the foundation of our decisions;
4. Are you and your wife both saved?
5. Do you both attend and participate in a good bible believing church?
6. Are you doing those things that God commands us to do that put us in a right relationship and good standing with him?
7. Although our mates have a large influence on our lives and how we are able to serve God, but our mates should not have that much influence on us that it holds us back from our spiritual growth and fellowship with God ( 1 Corinthians 7 and Ephesians 5:21-33);
8. We as Christians should never allow anyone to have such a strong hold on us to keep us from doing right and being diligent in seeking him. ( 1 Corinthians 7:29 and Hebrews 11:6);
9. The better our relationship, fellowship, and obedience to God's holy word the better position we place ourselves in having God answering our prayers and working in our favor;
10. We have a much better opportunity in winning others to our side (God’s side) when we love God verbally, but also when we especially love God with our actions;
11. People always tend to watch our actions over our speech ( James 1:22-25);
12. I do not know what kind of a relationship Peter had with his wife, but it apparently did not stop him from doing what God wanted him to do!
To study the differences between the King James Version 1611 (authorized version) and the other versions is something you should do with diligence ( Hebrews 11:6; 2 Timothy 2:15) and I believe you will conclude that the King James Version 1611 (authorized version) is the only inspired word of God as I have. As for the vulgate text it is from the Alexandria manuscripts (Egypt) Latin based that the catholic church uses for their version translated by origen and others that is proven to be corrupt by most honest and true bible translators. The King James Version 1611 (authorized version) is translated from the manuscripts of Antioch ( Acts 11:26) (Textus Receptus) where you will find that most honest and true translators conclude to be correct. As for the original text there are no original texts and when someone can produce them I might start altering my thinking on this subject. God is never to concern about the originals, see what god does with originals and how he preserves his word ( Exodus 32:19, Exodus 34:1; Psalms 12:6,7; Matthew 24:35; Peter 1:19) more original writings ( Jeremiah 30:1, Jeremiah 36:27, 28, 32). God has preserved his word in the King James Version 1611 (authorized version). When a person comes to conclusion that all versions are of God they have not studied the scriptures with diligence. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways ( James 1:8). There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end there of is the ways of death ( Proverbs 14:12; 2 Timothy 2:15).
The word of God is not against what you are saying. Only that it gives a better hope for those who trust God. And denying God is a choice one will only be responsible for… there is no eternal torture, that is simply figurative… The loving God as He is cannot spend eternity torturing human beings, no, there is not such a story in God’s plan. Only that, the word of God is meant for those who believe, NOT for those who do not believe… likewise people whom God dealt with, or still deal with have a relationship of their own with God, … a relationship, you and I may not clearly perceive. Sure we can judge from outside, but not without mistakes…’’For they that say such things declare PLAINLY that they seek a country’’. Hebrews 11:14… God bless you.
Those are sense based reasoning… and God is very far beyond all that we desire or simply think. Of course Job came out victorious and stronger than ever before. If God did not help him, Job would have failed… but God did, after Job exerted his utmost.
Based on what you say, the spirit of competition itself should be demise. Because there is no crowning without striving. And striving implies sufferings and sacrifices of all sorts, afterward come the rewards, and Job went through all such.
Now those who died, if they died in righteousness, the Bible says, God has prepared them a city, which is far beyond this life’s senseless stuffs. And those who look to that city don’t think worldly things, they think godly ones, and a ready even to die at any time, to preserve their rewards ( Hebrews 11:14-16, 35-40). If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable ( 1 Corinthians 15:19).
God bless you.
That is if we expect to go back with him when he returns.Happy Reading!
We too are pilgrims, and strangers in this world, and we like them are looking for a city. The new Jerusalem, that will come as promised by our Lord. Jesus said let not your heart be troubled, for you believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions. I go to prepare a place for you, so that where I am, there ye may be also. Thank God that Jesus went to the cross, and paid our sin debt. He is risen, and now is seated at the right hand of the Father. He is coming back to take us to live with Him in heaven. We will all receive the promise of God, and be made perfect with all those old testament saints who walked by faith. Yes faith is our victory over this world. The scripture says that the just will live by faith, and not sight. We too will have our names mentioned in the Hall of Faith, praise God for all the glory, and the honor belongs to Him.
One day we too will be included in the Hall of Faith. May we receive that crown of righteousness which God will give to all those who will love his appearing.
