The traditions of man teaches heaven is a natural place with natural streets, natural buildings, natural walls and we exist much like we exist now; but the word of God teaches heaven is a person in a glorified body with no need for streets or houses or any thing existing in a natural state.

John 3:13 No man has ascended up to heaven, but he (Christ in the same glorified body he existed in as Jehovah in the old testament) that came down from heaven (and became flesh), even the Son of man which is in heaven (now back in the glorified body he had before).

Can anyone tell me what are the differences in comparing Matthews and Marks recording of the last Supper except for in Matthews Judas asking if he is the betrayer?

If you're thinking about the present pandemic & the 'harsh' regulations imposed upon us as preventative measures for its spread, then I think of Leviticus chapter 13. This was God's direction to Israel on how to deal with leprosy, & in the midst of all the verbage in this chapter, verses 45 & 46 indicate that a leper would have to cover his mouth (i.e. wear a mask), declare himself unclean to all around (i.e. maintain separation from others = 'social distancing'), & will have to live outside the camp (i.e. be in quarantine). This was the prescribed way to remove something that was contagious from the proximity of others, so as to preserve another's life & deal with the disease or plague. If he recovered from the leprae, he was brought back into society, if not, he died a miserable & lonely death outside without loved ones (if he had any) around him.

But if, from your question, you're thinking of the spiritual & moral depravity of mankind, then I would find in 2 Timothy 3:1-7 a very telling list of the present condition of the human heart. And please take note, that this speaks to not just those who overtly demonstrate such behaviour, but that from the root of sin, we all have that ability & sometimes, desire, to behave in such manner - whether by kings, presidents, prime ministers right down the line to the feeble, inconspicuous individual or one totally obscure in poverty. The heart of man is indeed "deceitful above else & desperately wicked", but most today shun the invitation of the Gospel to have the Blood of Christ & the Power of His Spirit transform them.

The scripture is directly relative to your faith. Many who are new in the faith, will not know as much as others. This is true mostly with everything we study to do. To say, which part is more applicable to you or me, would be a matter of interpretation. This is why we need to study to show thyself approved, in all things that pertain to godliness! Christ is the faith we need to understand the sign of the times! He will show you, and bring all things to remembrance that He has told you! How, I wish with todays technology, I could know that you are hearing me! Not only you but all people I speak with on the I.T.. At least Paul could send Timothy, or Silvanus to proof their faith! The media has become very sophisticated, and growing together in fellowship , we then might consul one another in these last days. I say that the word cannot have free course as a ship in the ocean! My thanks for your kindness, and for your well thought-out reply. I don't have much to add... I think it's as you said - at the end of the day, it is between each person and God. I don't think we can know if another person is "really saved" while we are in this temporary body. Even if we use the only measure, God's Word, can we know the true state of a person's heart?

Of course, that doesn't mean we shouldn't give God's Word to everyone as we have opportunity. God told us to exhort, edify, and encourage one another daily( 2 Timothy 4:2, Hebrews 3:13, Hebrews 10:25). I believe these things are all part of fighting the good fight of faith.

The sad truth is that the seed of the gospel falls on different kinds of ground: rocky, shallow, sunlight dries up new growth.

People are going to FALL AWAY. It is a prophesy. We ought to pray for those people: ask God to send angels to pull them out of the ditch and drag them back to Church.

That's right, Jesus is the only intercessor and High Priest to God. Not the Pope or anybody else.

What we all need to remember is.......it is not our salvation!!

The Lord saves us when we come to Him as broken repentant sinners and as someone mentioned above we are sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise Ephesians 1:13.

Someone else mentions Judas Iscariot. I don't believe he had the holy spirit, I believe he is the son of perdition and remember Jesus says about whoever he will touch with the "sop", interesting initials.

We are part of the body of Christ if we are truly saved. Do you really think He will amputate us if we commit a certain number of sins and cause us to lose the salvation that He has given us. It isn't ours, it's His free gift to us.

Remember too that when Judas killed himself Jesus hadn't died so the new testament and the new dispensation of the church age where we have eternal security hadn't come into place. They didn't have eternal security during the time of the old testament, remember how the Holy Spirit left Saul. It also left Samson but came back to him. I truly believe that the books of Hebrews especially and also James are written to Jews during the time of Jacob's trouble, which hasn't happened yet, because the body of Christ won't be there, we will have left to be with the Lord, see 1 Corinthians 15:51-52 and 1 Thessalonians 4:14-18. It is so important to rightly divide the word of God as it is all writted to us, but not all of it for us 2 Timothy 2:15. If we don't rightly divide it that's when we make a mess of it and start thinking parts contradict other parts when they don't. I praise the Lord for showing me this.

If you lose that, it wasn't the least bit everlasting.

The Son of God, Jesus, was presented as a lamb without spots. He came as the second Adam to reconcile an account that fell out of order and became unrighteous and sinful. That would be my account because I believe by faith and saw my very own cry in my heart for peace. I heard the call of His salvation and came to hear. I saw his peace and his humility and by his mercy I understood my sin and reached out to Jesus by faith and repented of my sin. By grace from his grace I found myself a new creature, forgiven and reconciled to God the Father by his son the Lamb of God. I had peace with God and man and most importantly love for my neighbor as myself. The Holy Spirit dwelling in my soul guides me and reproves me, sanctifies my life in me for His good purpose.

Stephende, I actually was one of those who, on the 25th October 1979, cried out "Jesus, Jesus, Jesus". I had come to see the greatness of my sins before God, by a deep intrusion into my heart by God's Spirit. It was a miracle in a moment: the burden of my sins was removed when I cried out in repentance & instantly the Peace of God from His forgiveness flooded my soul. It was a great personal transaction that can never be forgotten.

Yes, I was born again by God's Spirit; if that is 'an empty cliche' to you, it has been to me, the very source of bringing a worthless, hell-bound sinner to understand the greatness of God Love & His eternal Plan to restore mankind to Himself.

"What the Law (as perfect & Holy as it was) could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." It is wonderful to read of your love & obedience to God. And do you obey Him fully? Remembering: "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all." James 2:10. If that is you & your perfection is that which is attributed to God & His Christ, it is true, you have no need of such 'empty cliches' & you're Heaven-bound. However, I would say, for the rest of us, we would need His Sacrifice desperately as we could never keep His Laws & satisfy His Demands perfectly. To that end, God sent His only begotten Son into this World, for our sake & for our redemption through the shedding of His Blood. What the blood of bulls & goats couldn't do for Israel, Jesus Christ's Blood fully did for the sins of both Jew & Gentile alike. Keep reading His Word: Light & Truth are its blessings for all with a singular heart for God.

In Hebrews, Paul speaks to his own. These days, where our world is in danger of imploding on itself for pestilence and racial warfare, corruption of our government, in part facilitated by right wing Christians and their weeping for donation preachers. To whom shall we turn for truth, for our daily bread? I find that there is noone. Of course, all on this site say it's Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. That does me no good. Born again is any empty cliche! But I do read the bible religously and am comforted by God, El Shaddai, my creator who sits in Zion and is a God of Gods. His Son's are those who obey the Pact, which He spoke to Moses in the dessert. He is both Creator and Destroyer. He requires obedience un questioned and rewards accordingly.

Growing in the gospel of salvation, Christ speaks of clearly. The danger of loosing ones faith is not impossible! This is a war between good and evil. This battle is not only here on earth but in the heavens. When you come to Christ and are baptized into his death and risen in His resurrection, you are a new creature in Him. Created in Him.Most religion today teaches a social gospel, based on works. When you understand the power of the holy Spirit, it will guide you into all truth. The last idea you would have is loosing so precious a gift. Temptation and Satan never leave. When your roots are deep He will have a hard time deceiving you. Love every aspect of the letter to the Hebrews. Every time I read it I been more and more evidence of Pauline authority.!

Kim, Can you direct me to a scripture that says we cannot lose our salvation? Judas lost his. Before his betrayal he was a disciple of Christ. Surely he thought his salvation was secure. Mark 13:13, Matthew 24:13, Rev 3:5, Ecc 12:13, Rev 22:14 There is no assurance of salvation. We believe and we live a certain way because of it. If one truly believes fear of the Lord should keep you from sin.

God's gift is Free Eternal Life. Once you have been born again The Holy Spirit seals you until the day of redemption. He will lose none. Those people spoke of in Hebrews never believed. He says they fell because of unbelief. Salvation is not probational. If you have been saved the flesh was crucified with Jesus. Paul says when he sins it is no longer him that does it but his flesh.
