Matthew 6:9-13 and a slightly abridged version in Luke gives us Christ's instructions in HOW we ought to pray. We have the honor and praise to God (fulfilling the First Commandment); and an example of seeking His Kingdom first and His will to be done-then asking for our daily provisions; forgiveness of sins (commission/omission) as well as forgiving others; asking to not be led into temptation; and being delivered from evil; and once again acknowledging God's authority (yours is the Kingdom; power and glory). Our prayers therefore are encapsulated in us verbalizing and meditating on God's authority and Holiness.
This by no means should be a ritualistic prayer. When we look at it; there really isn't any miraculous manifestation asked for in terms of healing; casting out demons; etc. But it needs to be the foundation of our lives so that our testimonies are genuine and we are living not for ourselves but for God. Clearly; we are NOT to pray as James states to satisfy our lusts ( James 4:3). There are times when we need to say God help! and clearly in a crisis life and death moment that may be enough. Trust in God's provisions despite external circumstances AND that the works that He has for us from before the beginning of the world ( Ephesians 2:10) are two major factors in a good prayer life. Obviously; discipline to listening to His voice; spending quality frequent quiet times in prayer and the Word are helpful as well. It is helpful to understand His will and also to rest in the fact that we have a High priest ever interceding for us ( Hebrews 7:25); and Romans 8:33. We all see through a glass darkly; but should seek to grow in maturity and wisdom.
Note Hebrews 10:12 "But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down at the right hand of God." also John 19, Isaiah 53, Luke 23,
Just recently GOD revealed somethings even deeper about that moment. I'm glad you're discussing so I can share it. In Leviticus 12, Leviticus 15:19-33, Leviticus 21:3, I think it's amazing Jesus called her "daughter" making her faith the (close kinship) also: Luke 8:43-48, Matthew 9:20-22, Galatians 3:26,
Also understanding that her touching him could have had the uncleanness, if He were not the High Priest that makes atonement. Hebrews 2:17, Hebrews 4:14,15,
Hebrews 5:5-10, Hebrews 6:20, Hebrews 7:11, even though; Luke 1, shows His family was of that bloodline, Luke 1:5-37,
Also notable Jesus garment was without seams as the Priestly garment: John 19:23,24, Exodus 28:32, Exodus 29:23, 1Samuel 2:18,19,
It should have for believers, but with all things involving people change was difficult and many Jews had difficulty leaving it behind. Social pressures, rejection by families and being put out of the synagogues brought challenges and the temptation to go along to get along. That is why the book of Hebrews was written. The author was trying to prevent Jewish believers from turning back to the sacrificial system and showing them Jesus was superior in every way to that system.
Here is my attempt to summarize Hebrews:
Jesus superior to the prophets: Hebrews 1:1-3
Jesus superior to angels: Hebrews 1:4-14, Hebrews 2:1-8
Jesus able to represent humanity: Hebrews 2:9-18
Jesus superior to Moses: Hebrews 3:1-6
Warnings about hardening our hearts to God's calling: 3:7-19
Warnings about missing God's rest provided by faith in Jesus: 4:1-13
Jesus provides bold access as our high priest: 4:14-16, Jesus meets high priest requirements: Hebrews 5:1-10
Warning about being dull of hearing and unprepared for a deeper teaching: Hebrews 5:11-14, 6:1-8
Encouragement to believe that they are ready for deeper teaching: Hebrews 6:9-12
Teaching about the importance of God giving His oath to Christ He would be a priest forever: Hebrews 6:13-20
Teaching the superiority of the order of Melchisedek that Christ belongs to over the Levitical priesthood order: Hebrews 7:1-28
Christ's priesthood serves the heavenly reality that the law only was an earthly copy of: Hebrews 8:1-5
The superiority of the New Covenant over the Old: Hebrews 8:6-13,
The superiority of Christ's complete sevice over the incomplete Levitical service: Hebrews 9:1-28
The superiority of Christ's sacrifice: Hebrews 10:1-22
Warnings about drawing back: Hebrews 10:23-39
Importance of and examples of faith: Hebrews 11:1-40
Exhortation to submit to chastisement: Hebrews 12:1-29
Exhortation to practically live out their Christian faith and benediction: Hebrews 13:1-25
Many think Melchisedec is a pre-incarnate appearance of Jesus Christ. The passage in Genesis about Melchisadec taken just by itself does not give a clear indication of this:
Genesis 14:18-20 - 18 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God. 19 And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth: 20 And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.
The primary basis for thinking Melchizedek is Christ is a result of the way the author of the Book of Hebrews interprets this passage to show the superiority and primacy of Christ's High Priesthood over the Levitical High Priesthood in connection with the Messianic Psalm of David, Psalm 110, particularly Psalm 110:4
4 The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.
The primary passages in Hebrews dealing with Christ's High Priesthood are:
Hebrews 7:1-3 is the most important passage to consider:
1 For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him; 2 To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace; 3 Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.
One view of vs 3 is that Melchisedek is a man who lived and died, but the author of Hebrews is using the mystery/absence of this info to liken him to Christ in His preincarnate state. The other is that this actually is Christ in His preincarnate state, but He appeared as a man like He ultimately did to reveal Himself as Son of God for us in order to become our High Priest.
This chapter once again demonstrates as in earlier chapters with Abraham that the Lord takes a marriage covenant seriously as the "marriage bed is undefiled" ( Hebrews 13:4). The fact that this woman was Ethiopian is even more intriguing (verse 1). It is likely with intermarriage of course that Israelites would have assimilated with other nations and would have a more Middle East complexion. Obviously; Moses' wife may have had a much more African dark skinned appearance. Another issue they may have had is that they considered their nationality somehow superior as to the traditional place where the true God was worshipped. It is clear from historical records and even recent years with migration back to Israel that indeed Jews have one major population residing in Ethiopia.
In any event; Moses' character and unique relationship with the Lord was brought forth to Miriam and Aaron. The assail on his character and the marriage covenant was once again; as threatened in Genesis to those who had been told Abraham's wife was his sister were at risk of being cursed. In this case; AMONG His people leprosy broke out on Miriam. Aaron was the chief priest and it should also be noted in verse 9 and 10 that the Lord departed from the tabernacle; hence He was no longer there to guide the comings and goings. As always;
Moses interceded and she only had to remain outside the camp in this condition for seven days.
This passage of scripture once again shows how quickly pride can cause a fall. No one is immune if we are not careful. Praise God for His faithfulness that He ever intercedes for us in heaven as our High Priest. ( Hebrews 7:25; 4:14; etc)
(1) He ascended to His Father ( Luke 24:49-53; Acts 1:6-11).
(2) He is our eternal Mediator ( 1 Timothy 2:5; Hebrews 8:6; 1 John 2:1.
(3) He is our Savior: "Thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins" ( Matthew 1:21, KJV). "Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Savior, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins" ( Acts 5:31, KJV).
He is the only Savior. "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved" ( Acts 4:12, NIV).
He is a complete Savior. "Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them" ( Hebrews 7:25, KJV).
He is a personal Savior. "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness: and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation" ( Romans 10:9, 10, KJV).
The Consummation of His Work:
(1) He shall return again to this earth ( Acts 1:11; Hebrews 10:37; John 14:3).
(2) Believers in Christ shall be bodily resurrected to begin a new, undying life ( 1 Thessalonians 4:17-18; 1 Corinthians 15:51-58).
(3) He will reign as King of kings and Lord of lords over His new creation ( 2 Peter 3:10-13; Revelation 22:3-5).
The words Jew and Gentile; The word Gentile used from Hebrew goy and nokhri and Greek thn. Gentile is derived from the Latin word gentilis, meaning belonging to a clan, a family, a nation, and people, and even those not Roman citizens. In both Hebrew and Greek, there is no word even approaching the way Gentile is used today. In the bible, the same Hebrew word was translated nations, heathen, Gentiles, and people, and the Greek word was translated the same even when it is about the Israelites.
The term Jew did not even appear until the southern kingdom of Judah was taken captive to Babylon. Jew is an abbreviated slang term for Judahite, a resident of the southern kingdom of Judah. I have heard people refer to Abraham as a Jew and the Israelites in Egypt before the exodus as Jews. All who are of the Jewish religion are not jews as is thought today.
We see in Revelation 2:9 and Revelation 3:9 Jesus does not care for those who call themselves Jews when they are not. Jesus came from the tribe of Judah Isaiah 11:1-10 2 Timothy.2:8 Revelation 5:5. Jesus is our high priest not from the tribe of Levi but of the tribe of Judah, Hebrews 7:11-15. From the tribe of Judah, our Lord's new high priesthood signals a change from the Old to the New Covenant, a new order.
Some argue that under Mosaic law, tribal affiliation is through the birth father only. There is one case we can see in Numbers 27:4-8 if Mary had no brothers her father's inheritance would pass to her. Jesus through her will be counted of the tribe of Judah. If we cannot accept Jesus being from the tribe of Judah, we cannot accept Him as our savior who gave His life for us.
I knew a guy named Cecil at Myrtle Beach Air Force Base. He adopted a 6month old baby girl that had been horrificly abused. I read your post several times. I closed the ap. Had to pray a little & think on your post. I haven't heard from our friend Cecil since I was a teenager. The MBAFB shut down shortly after those days & everyone moved away.
Cecil, GOD is Just. Have you heard of Moses? In Genesis, Abraham was promised several amazing things, a son from his 'wife', in their old age, etc. Gen. 12:2,3,7, but also that those heirs would be servant in strange land & afflicted 400 yrs. Genesis 15:12-13, if you read in depth you can find GOD's justice. Genesis 12:10-17, Genesis 16:1-16, Genesis 21:9-19 = it was in Egypt, Abraham's children of Sarah's son Isaac's offspring were afflicted.
Genesis 18, shows great mercy of GOD that if 10 righteous were in that land (Sodom & Gomorrah) it would've been spared. That's his Nephew Lot's friends & family. ?, Right here is proof the GOD interecedes on People's behalf when they obey HIM.
GOD's ways are not our ways, Isaiah 55:8,9,
We cannot blame GOD for wickedness of man = Genesis 6:5-6,
Yet GOD shows us mercy & unimaginable love, John 3:16-17, salvation through sacrifice, Psalms 18:25-27,
GOD is merciful, true & Just. If you read the books that go alongside Isaiah you'll get a clearer picture: 2Chronicles 36, Jeremiah 29, Jeremiah 51, Exodus 22:22, Isaiah 1:17, Isaiah 1:23, Jeremiah 7:6, Jeremiah 22:3, Ezekiel 22:7, Malachi 3:5, Zechariah 7:10, you can start with those verses because that's most of what GOD asked of Israel & Judah. Then please read the Books & chapters.
Then Babylon: 2Kings 20:12-18,19, Daniel 1, 2Kings 25:8-9, I stopped there because that's enough about the evil.
Hopefully these are helpful if you are trying to search for truth & understanding. You can also ask for wisdom James 1:5-6,21,
EVIDENCE OF DIVINE CONCERN FOR THE GENTILES. Continued.
(1) The practice of offering sacrifices as atonement, typically foreshadowing the coming of Jesus, apparently was a human requirement from the very commencement of history. Abel, son of Adam and Eve, brought the "firstlings of his flock and the fat thereof" ( Genesis 4:4). The offering must have been killed, otherwise he could not have presented the fat, which was the best part. Moreover, we are told that "righteous Abel" (so designated by Jesus [ Matthew 23:35]) offered his sacrifice "by faith" ( Hebrews 11:4), which, in the overall context of this chapter, clearly is an objective faith grounded in revelation, and not that which was subjectively whimsical.
When Noah departed from the ark after the waters of the flood subsided, he built an altar and offered sacrifices of every clean animal and bird, and Jehovah was pleased with his offering ( Genesis 8:20-21). What compelled him to do such?
Melchizedek, whom Abraham encountered on his return from the rescue of his nephew, was designated by Moses as a "priest of God Most High" ( Genesis 14:18). A priest is an appointed servant who officiates in the offering of sacrifices to atone for sin. The modernistic notion that Melchizedek was merely the "high god" priest of the Canaanites (e.g., Baal), worshipped in pre-Israelite Jerusalem, is absurd (Hicks 1962, 343). God would hardly have chosen a Baal-worshipper to be a type, prophetically previewing his Son ( Hebrews 7:3). See also Leupold (1942, 463).
(2) The entire world population was one in kind prior to the call of Abraham. He was the first to be designated a Hebrew ( Genesis 14:13). The Hebrews were not set apart as a distinct people until the giving of the law of Moses ( Exodus 19:5-6; cf. Ephesians 2:14). It is wholly unrealistic not to recognize that God's love for the Gentiles was a part of the ancient world.
These words clearly indicate Christ's promises from the Father; hence Satan's attempt for Him to fall to temptation to break continual obedience at the end of the 40 days of fasting in the wilderness ( Matthew 4:2 and following verses). Clearly, we have promises such as in verse 8 where we will only see the destruction of the wicked with our eyes and verse 7 where a thousand fall at our side; 10000 near you which could indicate those on earth at Armageddon or the battle for Jerusalem ( Zechariah 14) or our view of the judgments as they are cast to earth from heaven as seen in Revelation. We are also promised that God will go before us and be our rear guard ( Isaiah 52:12); and the angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and delivers him ( Psalm 34:7). Angels are ministering spirits; who have worked to free prisoners from jail in the case of Daniel in the lions den; and Peter in prison. When we are seated in heavenly places ( Eph. 2:6); hence He is our refuge ( Psalm 91:9). We do well to heed to the example of Christ; when he neared the end of His trial at His weakest point the enemy attacked. Patiently waiting until He was ministered to by angels afterward is a lesson to us to trust in Him (v. 2); and see that the Lord is good ( Psalm 34:8). We must endure to the end; but that is only in His strength. We remember that He is our High Priest; ever interceding for us ( Hebrews 7:25 and many other verses in that book).
Hello Fred. In Matthew 22:41-46, we receive a great answer from Jesus on this:
"While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them, Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The Son of David. He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool? If David then call him Lord, how is he his son? And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions."
Quoting from Psalm 110:1, Jesus points out to the Pharisees that even though He came in David's lineage (Matthew chapter 1 & Luke chapter 3 reveal this), His position before God & man, had its roots way back in eternity than what they supposed him to be. The Pharisees were left dumb-founded with Jesus' answer, because they knew the Scripture ( Psalm 110:1); how could David infer in this Psalm that his biological son would sit on the throne, when he (David) spoke of him as his Lord?
Even if David, Solomon, Nathan, etc. would have been mentioned in the Psalm, the fact remained that though Jesus had his ancestral roots through Mary (she bearing the Child) & Joseph, thus fulfilling prophecy, His coming to Earth was wholly from God & therefore had no biological connection to King David's sons. If there was a biological connection, then the sin nature in man would have been transmitted as well to Jesus, which refutes other Scriptures. Also, Psalm 110:4 states, "The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek", and this position no man on Earth could ever fulfil, as Jesus had no beginning or ending of days, resembling King Melchizedek, for whom there was no record known ( Hebrews 7:3).
Bill, I just want you to know that I'm praying for you. I cannot begin to understand what you must be going through but The Lord does for sure. So I asked Him to help you.
After I was rattled to death in my car sustaining whiplash and broken bones muscles and brain injuries. I remain the same doomed for life with breathlessness and terminally I'll.
At least god saved my life and my girlfriend Danica Patrick will not give up on me about our future and the baseline and citrus car accident that a Marie or Maria with State Farm insurance had when she caused the baseline and citrus Ave act of terrorism. She the terrorist and her friends started out on baseline she was behind all the traffic heading East when we'll she was behind me will I was watching in my side and rear view mirrors everything she was doing. She went into oncoming traffic a police man passed by going south in citrus Ave she proceeded to run the red light going head on with a newer dark blue Volkswagen hitting the vw head on on the drivers side she continued up baseline after colliding with the dark blue vw sedan of some kind going up baseline making a u turn to the traffic she collided with where I saw her do everything and so I moved into the left turn lane to try and catch a hit and run situation l. She then blew through the baseline and citrus traffic light going west on baseline making a right turn into a neighborhood to the north of citrus and baseline and could not see her so I told my self let's go get a coffee at at one in Azusa off baseline and Azusa. Myself remained in complete control of the situation at hand where I made a left turn onto the citrus on-ramp heading westbound to the 210 freeway. The Marie or Maria terrorist was now back at a street off of citrus and baseline a bmw with gullwing doors flew by me on the citrus and baseline on-ramp at a high rate off speed. The 210 freeway was jam packed early in the morning between the hours of 8am and 10am in the morning
The Maria or Marie with State Farm insurance was to my right as I was entering the on-ramp to the 210 freeway wear something went over my vehicle after the bmw gullwing door car passed before me the Marie or Maria jaber vehicle sic of some type a strange mixed up ford or explorer the smaller type not the full size type. I was going to pull up to the one car per green.
Thank you again brother Carleton for those deep & engaging thoughts. Indeed, our whole attitude & presentation to all must be as seen in our Master. He knew all men & yet withheld Himself from using their devices of carnal attack & judgement. He always did the Will of His Father ( John 6:38), always replicating the Father's Words & Acts in His Life & Ministry ( John 5:19).
His powerful, yet succinct Words to us are, "to be wise as serpents, and harmless as doves" ( Matthew 10:16), for indeed, we as Christ's Church are in the "midst of wolves", & we are not to be ignorant of the evil one's devices in urging those wolves on & upon us. Yet, when under attack, & they come from a myriad of sources, our response needs to be one as was written of our High Priest: "One who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens" ( Hebrews 7:26). As even the apostle urged us, to "be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world" ( Philippians 2:15).
Our light can only truly shine when Christ's Light shines through us. If there's only a flicker, the world will never be moved, they remain in darkness & our flicker of light might even be extinguished. As the world sees us in full submission desiring only that the Lord's Name be lifted up, they might also see how Jesus submitted to His Father's Will going the full distance to the Cross for them. That joy & peace that was the Lord's continual possession even to enduring the Cross, must be our portion as well, even in manifold trials & exercises of faith - and thus we can always follow peace with all men. Every blessing brother.
When I was a young believer, I would read Hebrews 7:3, and I believed this was speaking about Christ Himself. Learning that Melchisedec meant king of righteousness caused me to believe it even more. Today, I don't believe that way anymore.
Some believe that Melchisedec was a "Christophany," an appearance of Christ Himself in the Old Testament, because his name means king of righteousness. The only problem I see with that is that in Joshua 10:1, there's another king called Adonidedec. Adoni is lord, and Zedec is righteousness, lord of righteousness.
As for Melchisedec, it says he was the king of Salem. Salem was the city of the Jebusites. And guess what city that was later on? Jerusalem. Salem is from Shalom which means peace. So since he was the king of Salem, and king of peace.
And then the characteristics we see in Hebrews 7:3 don't help the matter much. But if I look closely at how it is translated, it doesn't say that he didn't have a father. The Greek text indicates that there is no record of a father, and no record of a mother, or descent. Obviously he came from somewhere. He was a man. But there was no record.
Then it says "having neither beginning of days, nor end of life." It sort of makes it sound like he is eternal. But that's not the case. There's just no record of his birth or his death, or who his parents were.
There's a parallel between Melchisedec and Christ. It says that he was made like to the Son of God. It doesn't say he was the Son of God. That's important. He abides a priest continually. We know that Jesus had a birth. We know who His mother is and who His Father is. But that's not the parallel. The parallel is that Jesus Christ never had a beginning, and doesn't have an end.
That's why the Lord's priesthood is according to Melchisedec, because Melchisedec is parallel to the eternal existence of Christ. If you want a reference for Salem being Jerusalem, Psalm 76:1 would give you that information. Hope this helps!
I try to understand who Melchisedec was or is, and what happened after Abraham had paid tight to him. How is he likened to, or compared, with our LORD JESUS CHRIST.
The Law was given only to Israel & coupled with sacrifices, were to point them to God's Mercy upon them. At Jesus' crucifixion, the Law which only brought condemnation & death was annulled, as Christ ushered in the New Covenant in His Blood. Hebrews 7:7-13, where the old has gone & the new has come in, where the Law is now written in their hearts & minds ( Jeremiah 31:31-34). And Paul takes this up in Romans 8:1-4: "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." The Decalogue could never give this ability & freedom to fully obey God in all respects.
Therefore, I don't believe that the apostles or the Church were instructed to obey the Ten Commandments, that which was given under the Old Covenant & only brought death. Under the New Covenant, the indwelling Spirit instructs us to all of God's requirements for us & enables us to be alert to them & keep them.
And finally to your other point, those who say they have faith & continue to "live in worldly sin" are fooling themselves with spurious faith - none with the Holy Spirit can live that way, bringing shame to our Lord. Blessings.
Is our atonement forever or once Christ freed us it's up to us to Atone for ourselves?
When Christ offered himself, He did it all!
The sacrifice had to be without blemishe.
Jesus didn't need cleansing from sin.
Jesus was sinless throughout his life.
PERFECT AND COMPLETE.
What's important to Know is the high priest in the levitical priesthood had to offer up sacrifices for himself and then the children of Israel. because it was IMPERFECT. But not Christ.
Hebrews 7:27. Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.
Jesus was an offering to the Lord for our sins. ONCE! By it we have atonement. He was raised from the dead showing the prophesied sacrifice was accepted.
HOW ARE WE KEPT.
As the offering of Christ was complete for remission of sins compared to the Levitical offerings because they had to offered often. Can we remain perfect by law keeping and continuous offerings? NO!
Hebrews 10:11-12. And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, WHICH CAN NEVER TAKE AWAY SINS:
But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
1 John 2:1-2. My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
And he is the propitiation for our sins: Atonement that is (concretely)
Colossians 3:3. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
Jude 1:24-25. Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.
John 10:28. And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
I just want to say thanks for the book. I don't know how much time I have left living it's getting really difficult for me in any part of my life. I am actually terminally I'll. I have condition with my entire spine it's getting worse in all forms please just pray I live past my 50's plus I have a known thing called breathlessness.
Please let as many people know as possible.
Goodbye if I don't make it through the next few weeks. I am sorry for the the bad news. Please let Jesus kno I am ready for the worst outcome . Please God have mercy on me please take me home soon to heaven I'm aloud there other than that my whole body is destroyed due to people. Please let my family know I am ready for my last remaining days on earth. Sorry God.
Precious Bob, ONE verse does not make Sound Doctrine, Correct?:
"JESUS Said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I AM."
( John 8:58)
IF JESUS is not THE "I AM" {ETERNALLY Existing One} Of ( Exodus 3:14), then please advise "Exactly WHO" is HE?
1) a created non-angel being son of God"? 2) Michael the archangel? 3) a pro-created human only son of God? 4) JW's idea of a-little-g god in the NWT Jn 1:1? And, Exactly HOW do Any of "these" FORGIVE sin, NOT "Being God Almighty"?
Is it not Infinitely Better to Adhere to ALL "Inspired" Scripture ( 2 Timothy 3:16-17), and Compare Scriptures With THEMSELVES" With The Help Of our Blessed Teacher, God, The Holy Spirit ( 1 Corinthians 2:13), Correct? ie:
WHO Is "The EVERLASTING/ETERNAL God, With No Beginning Of Days!"?:
"But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the
thousands of Judah, yet out of thee Shall HE Come Forth Unto ME That
Is To Be Ruler In Israel; Whose Goings Forth Have Been From Of Old,
From EVERLASTING." ( Micah 5:2)
"Without father, without mother, without descent, having NEITHER BEGINNING OF DAYS, Nor end of life; But Made Like Unto The SON Of God;.." ( Hebrews 7:3)
"JESUS CHRIST, The SAME yesterday, and to day, and for ever." ( Hebrews 13:8)
ONLY God Is ETERNAL/EVERLASTING!:
"Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever THOU Hadst Formed the earth and the world, Even from Everlasting To Everlasting, THOU Art God." ( Psalm 90:2)
"I Said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not That I AM [He], ye shall die in your sins." ( John 8:24)
"Now I tell you before it come, that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe That I AM [He]." ( John 13:19)
If you only read KJV, then you know the translators supplied the Extra [bracketed] words, Correct? Thus, JESUS, The SON Of God, The Father, Did, In BIBLICAL Fact, Say "That I AM!" Correct?
Please be Enlightened, Enriched, Exhorted, Encouraged, And EDIFIED, In:
Heb. 7:16-18 = These verses provide additional reasons the priesthood required a "change" (v.12) from the Levitical priesthood through Aaron to the "Order of Melchisedec" (v.11):
1st, the death of former Levitical priests always required subsequent replacements (v.23).
The repetitious replacements of the Levitical priests necessitated a "change" (v.12) in the "Order" of the priesthood from the temporary "the Order of Aaron" to that of the permanent "the Order of Melchisedec" (v.11; Ps. 110:4).
LORD JESUS CHRIST occupies this "changed" priestly Order, for "HE taketh away the first (animal sacrifices by the Levitical priests), that HE may establish the second (CHRIST's own bodily Sacrifice)" ( Heb. 10:9).
This "second" establishment effectively and permanently "sanctified [the believing worshippers] through the offering of the Body of JESUS CHRIST once for all" ( Heb. 10:10; cp. Heb. 7:25).
2nd, the Law, through "commandment" provided the process of priestly succession. Note, here, this commandment is described as "carnal" (v.16) {pertaining to the flesh}, meaning the commandment only applied to human priests in the blood line of the Levitical tribe.
The term "carnal" also speaks of each of the Levitical priest's brief temporariness in office. Death ended each priest's tenure in contrast to that of Melchesidec's (v.3), and of CHRIST's Eternal Priesthood (vv. 16, 21 & 24-25).
3rd, while Levitical priests received their authorization merely through a "carnal commandment", JESUS CHRIST received HIS authorized Priestly appointment through a DIVINE Heavenly Proclamation (v.17).
4th, the very fact that this "commandment" is "carnal", meaning as it pertains only to the sequentially authorized replacements of human priests, it is inherently characteristic of "weakness" and "unprofitableness" worthy of "disannulling" (v.18).
Of Hebrews 7:10 = Note that Levi's birth, as well as that of the Tribe of Levi, came "out of the loins of Abraham" (v.5). Contrast that with the Birth of JESUS CHRIST. JESUS CHRIST did not come from any man's loins, whether of Joseph's ("as was supposed"; Lu. 3:23) to be JESUS's father, or even of the great Hebrew patriarch Abraham, for JESUS CHRIST is Eternal. Mary actually declared this truth when she questioned her Heavenly visitor (Lu. 1:34): "Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?"
Yet, while Apostle Matthew and Doctor Luke record JESUS CHRIST's human genealogy ( Mt. 1:1-17 and Lu. 3:23-38 respectively), it was actually The HOLY GHOST WHO "conceived" JESUS, The Incarnate GOD "in" Mary ( Mt. 1:20). Furthermore, Joseph literally was not JESUS's father, but rather JESUS was "being (as was supposed) {customarily believed to be} the SON of Joseph" (Lu. 3:23).
Hebrews 7:17-28, Hebrews 9, Hebrews 10, references Exodus 39, Exodus 40, Leviticus,
Note Hebrews 10:12 "But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down at the right hand of God." also John 19, Isaiah 53, Luke 23,
Mark 5:25-34,
Just recently GOD revealed somethings even deeper about that moment.
Hebrews 2:17, Hebrews 4:14,15,
Hebrews 5:5-10, Hebrews 6:20, Hebrews 7:11, even though; Luke 1, shows His family was of that bloodline, Luke 1:5-37,
Also notable Jesus garment was without seams as the Priestly garment: John 19:23,24, Exodus 28:32, Exodus 29:23, 1Samuel 2:18,19,
Here is my attempt to summarize Hebrews:
Jesus superior to the prophets: Hebrews 1:1-3

Jesus superior to
Genesis 14:18-20 - 18 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.
Hebrew 3:1-10, Hebrews 4:14-16, Hebrews 5, Hebrews 6:20, Hebrews 7.
In any event; Moses' character and unique relationship with the Lord was brought forth to Miriam and Aaron. The assail on his character and the marriage covenant was once again; as threatened in Genesis to those who had been told Abraham's wife was his sister were at risk of being cursed. In this case; AMONG His people leprosy broke out on Miriam. Aaron was the chief priest and it should also be noted in verse 9 and 10 that the Lord departed from the tabernacle; hence He was no longer there to guide the comings and goings. As always;
God Bless

There is more but may this help.
God bless,
RLW
You can also ask for wisdom James 1:5-6,21,
Job 38:1-41, James 4:12,
* Hebrews 7:25,
Melchizedek priesthood purpose is to give us a model of Christ priesthood. superior to the Levitical priesthood. "Everlasting"
Please see Hebrews 7:1-17.
God bless.
Part 6.
See Part 7 of 7!
We will pray with you that God gives you comfort.
God bless you.

Thank you.
But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
Sorry God.
The Great "I AM" JESUS CHRIST!
Charles Haddon Spurgeon February 3, 1884
Scripture: Hebrews 7:2
From: Metropolitan Tabernacle Pulpit Volume 30
