  • Mishael on Religion VS Relationship - In Reply on 2 Esdras 6:9 - 4 years ago
That's not really an issue. All people have a responsibility to seek a relationship with God through the shed blood of Jesus Christ.

Some people settle for a religion. Beliefs and Good Works May distract you from entering into a RELATIONSHIP with the Savior: who promises eternal life upon being born again. As it is clearly set forth in John chapter 3.

Your spirit is not even alive unto God, until Jesus Christ's life is made alive in you by making the confession in John 3. Write it down: that's the date you were born again. Your spirit is connected to God through Jesus.

To pray, confess sins (we all need to; nobody is perfect yet). Run to 1 John 8-10.

    Hebrews 4:16, Hebrews 7:25,

    Hebrews 10: 19-23 & Hebrews 10:25

We go to church or home fellowships

Acts chapter 1: 42-47. People need to hear your testimony of how you came to believe.

    Rod,

Tithing was more strict under Jewish ceremonial law but it started before the law with Abram and Melchizedek. Tithing is very much for today, Chris is right. However, its dependent on our trust in God. Besides the promise of Malachi 3:10, we read in gospels how even though Jesus rebuked the Pharisees for leaving out judgment and mercy, he commended them for the tithe. But that is a secondary issue and not to take precedent above the former. Besides in Hebrews 7:8 the Bible says "And here men that die receive tithes; but there he receiveth them, of whom it is witnessed that he liveth"

In other words Jesus still receives our tithes in Heaven as a pattern of how it worked under the law. Giving of our tithe or our firstfruits of our increase shows God our faith in Him that he will provide for us, plus giving of our tithes also shows that we are faithful in the "least of things", bible says money is the least of things and that if we can trust Him in that arena he can entrust us more

No Jesus did not have Mary's DNA since all of mankind had sin nature. That is why the virgin birth was so important.
Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
Hebrews 7: 3 Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.
Jesus had the same mother and Father as the first Adam
1 Corinthians 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

Jesus is the Son of God, he isn't his own father, they asked Lord teach us to pray, Jesus said say Our Father who art in Heaven. Jesus said it isn't mine to give to sit on my right and left hand, but my Father.

Remembering that we are all pilgrims here. Priests and saints. With no beginning and no end, witnesses unto life everlasting ,through faith in our lord and savior. We are here to extend the true church ,that man may come to the truth and gods kingdom would grow and overcome the adversary.
  • Fred Scanlan on Hebrews 7 - 4 years ago
Chapter 3 could refer to Melchizedek ministry. Is it possible to forfeit all prior relationships while serving the lord in the priesthood . ex. Christ had no honor in his own country. Or beginning of days or end of life, This could refer to his total dedication in that he took up the cross hoping for nothing in return concerning his life and death for God while on earth. He was in Christ reconciling the world , While abiding a priest continually. The revelation given to his priests, teaching the truths of gods word, such as the prophets of old. How blessed we are to have true dedicated priests and their wives! Pray that they will not be swayed in these last days.Pray for your pastors!

Dear John, Melchizedek is a Priest of the God to whom Abraham gave the tithes of all after delivering his nephew lot who was captured during a war Genesis 14:18-23 . This singular act was the reason why Jesus could come from the tribe of Judah to become our High Priest of the New Testament forever making intercession for Us to Psalm 110:1-end, Hebrews 7:1-end . Godbless you

If a new covenant with its new priesthood is in place, then giving should be freewill and not tithe-centric as is the common practice in the church then now.
  • Ondray DeAngelo Pearson - In Reply on Matthew 1 - 5 years ago
According to Hebrews 7:14 our Lord and Christ is from the tribe of Judah. This is how we know the identification of this person because we know in Deuteronomy chapter 28 the tribe of Judah we're black slaves that were taken in captivity put on slave ships brought to America and sold to other people.

It is not for the wicked who walk after the flesh to understand. But now, it pleases my Holy Father for me to glory in the knowledge given me by the Spirit of Christ. For it is written, But let him that glories glory in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, says the LORD.

Who can understand the mechanics of the Supreme Being. Noone! We don't even fully understand the mechanics of being alive in a body which has a end, but the Spirit which enlivens us doesn't. Melchidec appeared out of nowhere to Abraham as an emissary and is never heard from again. You say he was Jesus walking the earth on a recon mission. I say that Jesus was born of woman, Melchisidec wasn't

Jay: Wherefore He is Able also to Save Them to The Uttermost that come Unto God by Him, Seeing He Ever Liveth to Make Intercession for Them.( Hebrews 7:25). We don't Keep Ourselves Saved. We're Keep by The Blood of The Lamb/ If You Offend in One Point, to Keep The Whole Law, Your Guilty of All ( James 2:10)

Bet, because Melchizedek is a type of Christ comparing the Levitical law or mt. Sinai law which was given by God to Moses in contrast to the N.Testament law grace and truth by Christ Jo:1:17 Henry's commentary of this chapter indicate he was a priest and a king just like Jesus. He had no parents...mostly referring to no documentation of his human history. I don't see enough to say Christophany.

These 2 immutable things are the 2 oaths made by God and Melchisedec blessing Abraham with multiplication/children. Immutable means something that cannot be changed which are the 2 oaths made by God and Melchisedec ,Resulting in natural Israel, Our strong consolation that Christ might be formed IN US WHICH IS the H.G WHOM JESUS REFERS TO AS THE PROMISE ,The Israel of GOD, MULTIPLICATION OF GOD .

Hello Eutychus, WHERE IS MELCHIZADEK? Psalm 90:2 "from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God". Jesus is God, John 20:28, and therefore Melchizadek seems to be an Old Testament appearance of Jesus before He appeared in the New Testament as baby Jesus. Very, very deep.

"Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually." No beginning, no end of life...here is the mystery...regarding which I will not attempt an answer. WHERE IS MELCHIZADEK? If he has no end of days, he must be alive...where is he? On earth? In heaven? Where then is Melchizadek?

Jimmy; He that denies Jesus Christ having come in flesh is Antichrist. But the whole testimony of the Scriptures is that the Anointed would come in flesh, born of a woman, to save the world and undo the works of the devil. Your hostility is nothing new; it started with Cain, and spread over the whole earth because of Nimrod, and is the root of the fierceness and rage of the heathen against Christ!
  • Jimmy a disciple of Jesus on Hebrews 7 - 6 years ago
sorry "a disciple" you are wrong..plainly vs 3 says he didnt have a mother or father without beginning or end...just cause our peanut of a brain cant fathom it doesnt mean to make up things just to ease our thinking or to fit our religion!!!

Bet; "Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God.." Melchizedek naturally DID have a father and mother; but with regard to the recorded genealogies of the Nations, he appears as though not from any of them. In this was he made a type of Jesus the Son of God the Anointed. I hope that answers your question.

Ron: And The Word was made Flesh, and dwelt among us: John 1:14
  • Ron garcia on Hebrews 7 - 7 years ago
It is very interesting what chapter 7 of Hebrews is revealing to us. This chapter is confirming that the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Godhead, became flesh and dwelt among us, who also established the order of Melchisedec priesthood. Jesus was the second of the priesthood of Melchisedec, both God in the flesh. The Holy Spirit also dwells in the hearts of the believers.

Dear Frank; What the Apostle is explaining to us is about the eternal existence of the Lord Jesus; in how Melchizedek (of whom there is no record in Scripture about his lineage) was taken as a type of Christ. The term, "..men that die receive tithes," simply refers to the mortality, and therefore the weakness of the Aaronic priesthood because the priests did not live for ever.
  • Frank Hogan nz on Hebrews 7 - 7 years ago
" and here men that die receive tithes " verse 8 Can someone explain this to me, paying tithes to someone who is dead !!!

Was Abraham under the Law? No! The father of many nations knew something about tithing, he recognized God's blessings for doing so. Should people rob God? Jesus said, give to God what belongs to God. The bookof Hebrews focuses on the superiority of Jesus Christ overall other entities, we areto hold fast to Jesus asthe great High Priest of God. Jesus replaces Judaism as God's revelation of himself
