    @Helen,
In Colossians 1:14, the word used of Apostle Paul is WE, and not the word ALL. If the word used is ALL, I salute you, but the word used is WE. So, I conclude that the words “WE were” refer only to the Jews or Israel nation. Gentile people were not included in this verse through His blood for the forgiveness of sins. Also Paul citizenship is a Jew. While Paul speaking in this verse, there are Jews and Gentiles around him. In 1 John 2:2 the verse did not say that there is shedding of blood. So be watchful, this verse did not say that through the blood of Jesus Christ the sins of the whole world be forgiven.

Sorry, Hebrews 7:15 is wrong, the correct is in Hebrews 9:15. Thanks.
  • Helen on Hebrews 9 - 11 years ago
    @Mar,
Saying the blood of Jesus was shed for Israel only. I am glad you are reading the King James Bible. God did want the gentiles to worship him. In 1 John 2:2 ''And he is the propitiation (payment) for our sins, and not ours only but also for the sins of the WHOLE world.'' Colossians 1:14 says ''In whom we have redemption through his blood even the forgiveness of sins.'' I know Jesus died for me and my sins and I hope he will not be ashamed of me, and I will be able to call him brother. I’m going to meet him in the air!

    @Clints,
The topic is literal Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ is for the forgiveness/redemption of sin for Israel nation/Jews. Psalms 130:7,8, Israel nation/Jews is prophesied that their sin is forgiven. And the fulfillment of the said prophesy in Psalm 130:7,8 is in Hebrew 7:15. That by means of death is for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament. Talking about the word death there is a blood to be shed. And in addition also in Ephesians 2:11-14, Gentile people in the past or in the Old Testament were without Christ, No hope and without God in the world. But for the blood of Jesus Christ, Gentile people are made near, also the wall of partition between the Jews and Gentiles hath broken down. Now, in the time of our Lord Jesus Christ, Jews and Gentiles were the same and no more discrimination. It seems you are missing the topic, so may I ask you:
    1. Gentile people where did they commit sins in the Old Testament or in a New Testament? If your answer is in the New Testament, please give the verses;
    2. Where is your verse in the bible that through the blood of Jesus Christ Gentiles are also forgiven?
  • Mike on Leviticus 20:13 - 12 years ago
I have no problem in what it says in Leviticus. I think it boils down to where you put your final authority. I put my final authority in the King James Bible and trust solely in that. I know if I put it in myself, I’ll be in huge trouble. Trying to be a "good person" takes away from the ultimate sacrifice of my Lord Jesus Christ who paid with his life so that my sins are covered in His blood. The Bible says that without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sins. Hebrews 9:22.

God's wisdom has Fatherly instructions, corrections, admonitions, information and guidance in them. As a matter of divine fact, His Wisdom originates from a heart of love, mercy, and compassion that are beyond human comprehension. Therefore, they are meant to stir you and I, as it were, into the favours and strength of God. And because God is God, and there is none compared to Him, it means that He can't lie. Hence, it is worthwhile and wise to give concentrated attention to His Word. God's Word is His Wisdom and His wisdom are His dictates, and they are meant for the good of whoever believes ( 2 Corinthians 12:9; Hebrews 4:16). Truthfully speaking, the fact that God does not do evil, but that He only does what is good and right, should encourage whoever cares to listen, to plunge into His truths, and also into His wisdom- and that must be through Jesus Christ, and also through the Holy Spirit, the Eternal Spirit ( 1 Corinthians 5:10; 2 Corinthians 3:5). The nuggets of truths, in this Proverbs 4, like others, are godlike precepts and instructions that are incomparable, good and right for the human soul, and for the spirit man, the hidden man of the heart, - and that mainly refers to the recreated human spirit. They are facets of biblical truths that are encouraging and also excellent for the godly type of life that many are craving and thirsting for ( Psalms 1:1-3, Psalms 37:4; Ephesians 1:17). Interestingly, depending perhaps on what background, a Christian comes from, the fact is that for the really genuine and committed type of Christian, a time will or must come that he will come into the knowledge that this God of Israel, the Father of our LORD Jesus Christ deserves to be magnified, glorified and worshipped; for there is none like Him ( John 4:23; 1 Peter 1:25). Thus, the place of wisdom, in the lives of whoever desires and dares to love and honour the Living God ( John 1:12; 3:16). He is, all that matters- and when you and I key into His love and faithfulness, He will do great wonders through us to the glory of His name. In view of these and many other things vis a vis the Word of God, wisdom dictates that we give ourselves committedly unto the LORD, and to His Word ( Matthew 6:33,34). There are challenges upon challenges that confront us, as individuals, and that is why, these truths and instructions, as contained in Proverbs, and throughout the pages of the Holy Writ, demand that we be faithfully committed to them. Remember, we have been accepted, into the family of the Beloved, and that refers to Jesus Christ ( John 17:3; Romans 8: 15; Ephesians 2:18; Galatians 4:16,1; Hebrews 9:14; 1 John 4:3; 5:13). And that is where the grace of God comes on board; His grace is more than sufficient ( 1 Corinthians 15:10; 2 Corinthians 3:5; 2 Corinthians 12:9). God has abilities no matter what task or assignment He has called you and I for. When you commit yourself to God's dictates and function in line with them, Angels will go on assignment for you ( John 15:7; James 4:16.). There are levels and degrees of encounters with God, that we can't get into except through daily obedience and practical submission to the Word of God. In fact there is nothing, as far as I know that can surpass what God has given. He has given Jesus Christ, who is referred to biblically, as the Wisdom of God, - and that is for the salvation and redemption of humanity. And when you belong to Him through the agency of the new birth, you automatically become joint heirs with Him. And with that you are sorted if you know how to walk or function in love, and then take advantage of what He has given through Christ Jesus, the Saviour of the World. The essence of these is that we should give attention to wisdom, embrace it, reflect upon it, and practice it. God's instructions and precepts demands heartfelt obedience ( Psalm 119:6; John 14:15; John 15:120; 1 Corinthians 7:19; 1 Peter 1:25; 1 John 5:3). It says whatever you do in word and deed, do it heartily as unto the LORD. Hence, in the things of the Spirit, and that refers to the Holy Spirit, high level of commitment should be the norm, and that is because God cannot lie, - and His Word is forever infallible ( John 1:1-14; Hebrews 4). Truly, God is forever trustworthy.

Mar's's, the blood of Christ covers all believers whether Jew or Gentile, slave or free! God says all nations shall be blessed in Him! You need to study harder for yourself and not believe that garbage about gentiles not covered by Christ’s blood!

    @Paul,

    With regard to verse 17:
‘’Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.’’
    That most relates to
Hebrews 9:12 ‘’Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.’’
Jesus as an high priest, went in the temple with his own blood he presented as a sacrifice to God.
That he did just after resurrection.
    God bless you.

"they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance." Those who have ears (hearing) will hear the call, those who are yet deaf will not hear. Only during the Millenium will the rest will have a chance to hear the THRUTH and be able to make a choice whether to receive or reject the offer of LIFE.

First of all in my comments I didn't say anything about rapture. In my reading of the Holy Bible I see the Lord telling His men/disciple/church etc that He comes back so that they could expect His coming.
    John 14
1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if [it were] not [so], I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, [there] ye may be also.

    Hebrews 9:28
So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that LOOK for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation
    1 Corinthians 1:7
So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ

    1 Thessalonians 2:19
For what [is] our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? [Are] not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming?
    1 Thessalonians 3:13
To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the COMING of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.
    1 Thessalonians 5:23
And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and [I pray God] your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the COMING of our Lord Jesus Christ.
    Colossians 3:4
When Christ, [who is] our life, shall appear, then shall ye also APPEAR with him in glory.
    Philippians 3:20
For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we LOOK for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ
21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

    1 John 3:2
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet APPEAR what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
    1 Corinthians 15:23
But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming

    1 Thessalonians 4:15 - 17
For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive [and] remain unto the COMING of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

The Church is expecting the coming of the Lord their Savior. We children of light and of the day. We are not going to sleep at all; we are not going to lose our faith.

The coming of the Lord is not as a thief in the night for the Church. The prepared Church is expecting His coming, His saints, His holy ones are awaiting His arrival. They are not going to sleep as the 10 virgins slept (While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.). They are not preserved or kept for the darkness. But those that are choosing to receive Him at night (spiritually speaking) will meet Him when He comes from the wedding. ( And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.).

    Amos 5:18
Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what END [is] it for you? the day of the LORD [is] darkness, and not light.
    Job 36:20
Desire not the night, when people are cut off in their place.
    John 9:4
I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the NIGHT cometh, when no man can work.

    1 Thessalonians 5: 1 - 10
1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
6 Therefore let us not sleep, as [do] others; but let us watch and be sober.
7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.
8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.

So I think, we must expect Jesus and receive Him and be with Him forever rather than being part of those who are waiting for the ati-Christ.

V.15 Today's common usage of the phrases "Old & New Testament has strayed from the Bibles usage. Their true definitions are "A will or disposition, an arrangment of God with mankind," rather than the two sections of the Bible. The new testament or (covenant), is alluded to throughout the whole book, and specifically in Jere. 31:31-34. The new testament was not in effect until the death of the mediator as we see in Heb. 9:16-17. The old testament was given through Moses and was binding until the crucifiction of Jesus on the cross, ( Rom. 7:4-6.) The new testament is said to be written in the hearts of believers, rather than on stone or with ink, referring to the sacred writings of the Bile ( 2 Cor. 3:3). However the written word is precious as a reference and guide, lest someone hear a word from the deciever. Since both old and new testament references are found throughout the Bible, it may be confusing to assume Gen. to be old testament, and Matthew thru John to be the new. Jesus taught people who were still under the law of moses until after his resurrection.

Here is some of the mystery of God 1Tim 3:16 helps you to understand Jesus gave a great commission to the world, In the begining God lead his people out of the wilderness thru his servant Moses. But now in the end of the world he came into the world by the sacrifice of himself Hebrews 9:1-28 talking about himself coming as the second veil (meaning flesh)to put away sin Hebrews 10:5 where he talks about a body he prepaired himself so that he could shed blood for the sins of the world, because the bible says that wiithout the shedding of blood there was no remission for sins Hebrews 2:14,9:7,12-14,18-22. Being the great God that he is, he placed himself in a virgin woman called Mary (womb) to be born as a son in the flesh and as he was born the angel had already spoke to her and said his name shall be called Jesus which is the name above every name( Luke 1:27-35)The Holy Ghost is the spirit of the Lord, so he became flesh ( John 1:1-14). Jesus gave Peter the keys to the kingdom of heaven, and on the day of pentecost Peter answered the question of how to be saved when the people ask (men and brethen what shall we do ?) Please read carefully with an open heart to God's word. Whosoever obey shall be saved (Acts:1 and 2). God's Blessings!!

I also would like to offer warm thanks for this website. It is very useful to study this way. Our praise to God for revealing the most highest truths thru his prophets, apostles and high priests of our profession. And truly our profession has to do with God and his salvation, and I for one Profess my faith in the God of our fathers in the Desert, and the Father of our Lord, who is Christ the first born from the dead, who being full of the Holy Spirit, as witnessed by John the Baptist, who endured every temptation of Satan, the prince of the devils, and who demonstrated his power over death by resurrecting from the Dead and walking upon the earth in his glorious resurrected body for 40 days and invited Thomas to touch his wounds because of his unbelief. He it is who is the captain of my soul, and He will I follow, taking up my cross for enduring tribulation and every affiction.

Praise the Lord, It's good to know truth in a revelation of God.
    1. Father -- Spirit
    2. Son -- The Flesh
    3. Holy Ghost -- Spirit that indwells your body from God himself.
God look down from heaven and saw none doing good ,not one, read that in ( Psalms 14:1-7) So God being full of his love and mercy to us he made himself a body ( Hebrews 10:5), Hebrews 9:26-28 which is called Son because he came as man, and what can a woman birth? son or daughter correct? God knew that there had to be blood shed for remission of sins so he sacrificed himself by being born of a woman. Please read about the mystery of God. 1Timothy 3:16 God Bless

It's a great commission from God, as in vs. 19-20 telling us to be baptized in the name of the father, son and the Holy Ghost is all wonderful, but where alot of us get the wrong thought is not understanding what's the name? As in human nature we come to this world in the flesh born of a woman as a son or daughter but we do not name our children son or daughter do we? (No) we give them a name, so take a look at this scripture and search it out for the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Ghost. Read John 14:8-10 the differance is the flesh and spirit, God planted himself in a virgin woman name Mary to become flesh Read Hebrews 10:5, Luke 1:30-35 pay attention to the repeat of SON, God overshadowed her with his spirit so that he can come to the world to shed his blood for us, because no one else was worthy so he made himself a body using a woman never been touched by man physically and we know when Mary birth him his name was called JESUS! Read Hebrews 9:12-15 & 26. Father is spirit,Son is flesh and Holy Ghost is spirit that indwells us when we receive him in our temple. If you would like to here more and see more scriptures please feel free to ask and God Bless you all. God's word you have to search and find the mystery of him read 1 timothy 3:16 (Anita)

Prior to this i would like to share something about our topic, ( Romans 5:12)for by one man sin entered the world and death by sin so death passed upon all men for in that all have sinned.....We know that the bible clearly state that both of them disobeyed God's command, as stated in this verse FOR BY ONE MAN SIN ENTERED THE WORLD,One man means not particular to one man only but two person,( Genesis 2:24)meaning they shall be in one flesh. In ( Genesis 2:16-17) Thou shalt not eat of it, for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. When Eve begin to have fellowship with the devil, She begin to have a desire about the fruit in the midst of the garden, the devil expalin to her that you will not die if you eat the fruit but rather will be like God, Adam saw Eve that when She ate the fruit she did not die, but God said you will die, so when Eve gave him the fruit after he ate this, their eyes where opened and saw that they were both naked and covered with them leafs, and so the bible said In the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die, they died on that day because for the Lord one thousand day for the Lord is only ONE DAY that is why they died on that day, but because of God's love to them before sending out from the garden God clothed them with skin of animals (Lamb)for the remission of their sin because God commanded them only ONE COMMAND! ( Hebrews 9:22) without shedding of Blood there is no remission of sin. because there was a sacrifice blood for them a blemish, without spot of a lamb. ( John 1:29) Lamb of God who taketh away the sins of the world.

This is very important matter to all of us,the sin which committed by Adam & Eve was forgiven but there was something happend there was a consequence a far reaching consequence of their sin, we inherit the original sin which is death from hell, the only way to escape this is to have reconcilliation with Christ thru baptism in water in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of our sins, this is the only key for us to enter God's Kingdom without repentance and without baptism we will all likewise perish. ( John 3:3-7)
Without being born again of water and of spirit we cannot enter into the Kingdom of God, for there is two salvation God wants to happen to all, being baptized of water & spirit and after this process we must continue to be with Lord in his second coming ( Titus 2:13) This the TRUTH the truth that will save us from damnation, because Jesus said I am the WAY the TRUTH and the LIFE no man cometh unt the Father except thru me.

    Godbless you heart...

About the blood shedded of our Lord Jesus Christ, literally the blood, Gentiles are excluded about the forgiveness of Sin. Gentiles forgiveness is heartily believing the son of God. Supporting verses: Mat. 9:2 & Bh. 10:43. Mostly christians denominations teaches that the blood shedded of our Lord Jesus Christ, literally is for the forgiveness of Sins. Even if no verses in the bible to support in their declarations. Even a single word you cannot read that through the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ specifically, Gentiles are included in the forgiveness of Sins. Absolutely, the forgiveness of Sin through the blood is only given to the Jews/Israel nation. Supporting verses prophesied in Psalm 130:7& 8 - literally Israel nation was redeemed. The fulfillment of the prophesy is in Heb. 9:15.
  • W.M. on Revelation 1 - 14 years ago
    In response to Tim's comment,

A Christian is not someone is not someone who follows all of the Ten Commandments strictly or
a good honest person. A Christian is someone who
has asked God to wash their sins away with the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Bible says in Romans 3:23. "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God."

Hebrews 9:22 says,"And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without the shedding of blood is no remission..."

The Lord Jesus Christ (God in the flesh) died on
the cross and shed His blood to wash away our
sins. Then He was buried in the grave and on the
    third day He rose again.

The Bible says, "For whosoever shall call upon
the name of the Lord shall be saved."

We need to ask God to take our sins away with the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ and ask Him
to help us turn away from our sins.

II Timothy 3:16 says, "All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for
    instruction in righteousness."

That means all of the Bible from Genesis to
Revelation is God's Word and is profitable to us.

Revelation is a book of prophecy of things to come. Much of it we will not understand until
some of the events begin to unfold.

The word "revelation" in the Greek means unveiling, disclosure, or revelation.

God tells us throughout the Bible of things to
come to prepare us ahead of time.

The most important thing right now is to be sure that we are a Christian by asking God to forgive our sins and cleanse us with Jesus' blood. That
way you can become His child and be assured of a home in Heaven one day.
