Isaiah 19:8 The fishers also shall mourn, and all they that cast angle into the brook shall lament, and they that spread nets upon the waters shall languish.
Most all of Isaiah is prophecy of the Kingdom of God.
Egypt is symbolic as is Babylon in Revelation, what they have in common is the spirit of deception, which God is going to destroy.
Put the FISHERS as a prophecy of his 12 disciples and all those that are ruled by the same Spirit IN THEM as is IN YOU.
Matthew 4:19 .... I will MAKE YOU fishers of men ....
Ezekiel 32:3 ... I WILL therefore spread out MY NET over thee, with a GREAT COMPANY of many people, and THEY shall bring thee up in MY NET.
Ezekiel 47:10 And it shall COME TO PASS, that the FISHERS shall stand upon it ... they shall be a place to spread forth nets, their fish shall be according to their kind, as the fish of a great sea (of humanity), exceeding many.
This has been happening now for 2000 years.
Most of this is done after you are harvested and have been translated into the next age, and have become a chariot of fire or a locust as described in Revelation.
Revelation 9:2 And HE (Christ has the keys to death and the grave) opened the BOTTOMLESS (a grave that can never be filled with all the dead) PIT, and there AROSE a smoke (Christ and his saints) out of the pit (grave), as the smoke of a great furnace (of fire, our God is a consuming FIRE) ...
Revelation 9:3 And there came out of the SMOKE (the saints and Christ as ONE FLESH) locust on the earth; and unto them was given POWER, as the scorpions of the earth have power.
Revelation 9:4 And it was commanded them, that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; But ONLY THOSE who HAVE NOT the seal of God in their foreheads.
Revelation 9:5 And TO THEM IT WAS GIVEN that they should not kill them, but they should BE TORMENTED for five months (symbolic), and there TORMENT was as the TORMENT when a scorpion striketh a man.
From reading Isaiah 19:1-9 this is a prophecy upon Egypt that a judgment will come upon Egypt and will gr3eatly affect the fishing industry with the brooks and River Nile being wasted or dried up and the amount of fish being greatly reduced. It is not only the fresh water that will be affected, but the salt water seas that border Egypt will also not bring forth an abundance of fish either.
It was probably so that the fishing industry was very vital to Egypt and the Lord will hit them where it hurts Egypt significantly to shake their confidence in their idols.
Well vengeance is mine saith the LORD. Love thy neighbour love one another even our enemies. But in the OLD TESTAMENT where God is the same then as He is now. But in 2 Kings 19:34-35
34 For I will defend this city, to save it, for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake.
35 And it came to pass that night, that the angel of the Lord went out, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians an hundred fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses.
But one day in the future, in that day.
Isaiah 19:22-25
22 And the LORD shall smite Egypt: he shall smite and heal it: and they shall return even to the LORD, and he shall be intreated of them, and shall heal them.
23 In that day shall there be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians shall serve with the Assyrians.
24 In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, even a blessing in the midst of the land: 25 Whom the LORD of hosts shall bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance.
24 In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, even a blessing in the midst of the land: 25 Whom the LORD of hosts shall bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt My people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance
God Bless You all, prayer request for healing. And prayers for each other that we keep on keeping on. I'll meet you all in the air.

1 Thessalonians 4:16

1 Thessalonians 4:17
"Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord." (7 years in Heaven and in Revelation 19:11-21 Christ returns with His Saints and the Angels)
Revelation 3:10
"Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth."
Matthew 5:12
"Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in Heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
John 14:2
In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
Grace and Salvation and the Holy Spirit will remain. The Body of Christ is he who hinders, God said the Holy Spirit will abide with thee forever. Zech 14:16-21 speaks of those that are left, without the mark or and who did not worship the image will serve year to year.
Isaiah 19:23-25
23 In that day shall there be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians shall serve with the Assyrians.
24 In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, even a blessing in the midst of the land:
25 Whom the LORD of hosts shall bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance.
Ask ye of the Lord rain in the time of the latter rain; so the Lord shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field.
There are those who look at the latter rain described in Joel 2:23-27 we see what is similar text (along with the early rain). The final revival of the world likely will fulfill other promises in Joel such as in Joel 2:28 also mentioned at least partially fulfilled in Acts 2:17. We also can't ignore how God has blessed Israel even today with more rainfall then surrounding nations; and no doubt the earth in the Millennium will be fruitful more than ever for the final fulfillment with literal rainy seasons of predictable nature (except for those who don't come to worship God as we see later on in Zechariah).
Verse 2 describes that there were those as if there was no shepherd; apparently struggling into part of verse 3. This reminds us of Christ's statement in Matthew 9:36-38.
Verses 3 and 5 show indications of later verses in Zechariah of Judah fighting against the enemy armies in campaigns related to Armageddon; specifically after the taking of half of the city of Jerusalem. Basically the rest of this chapter shows the unity of Judah and Ephriam and gives glory to Christ as the victor over the enemies. Verses 9 and 10 show an ingathering from Egypt and other places.
The pride of Assyria in verse 11 could be partially fulfilled in the past but Antichrist himself is known as the "Assyrian" in Ezekiel 31:3. Egypt is mentioned too; although it's national prominence will never be what it was ( Ezekiel 29:15) but it will cry out in the last days ( Isaiah 19:20) and of course it is mentioned in Zechariah 14:17 they will still exist and need to worship God every year.
The burden of the word of the Lord in the land of Hadrach, and Damascus shall be the rest thereof: when the eyes of man, as of all the tribes of Israel, shall be toward the Lord.
According to Isaiah 17:1 Damascus shall become a ruinous heap. There will be a highway; nonetheless in the last days according to Isaiah 19:23 there will be a highway from Assyria into Egypt which encompasses part of Syria; Turkey; and a couple other nations. Isaiah 17:3 states the rest of Syria will be as the glory of Israel. No doubt there will finally be peace among the survivors of the surronding nations.
The destruction of Tyre is also mentioned in Ezekiel 26 and 27 (along with the prince of Tyre and king of Tyre in chapter 28 signifying a human and Lucifer controlling things behind the scenes with his history). This prophecy was partly fulfilled; as to some of the details which I won't elaborate on here.
The same could be said for the Philistines and others mentioned in verses 5 through 7; verse 8 shows the Lord's conquering and control in the future.
Verse 9 is a direct prophecy of Christ riding on a donkey during Palm Sunday and signifies hi eventual rule on earth. His dominion from sea to sea is also in Psalm 72:8 and was a popular hymn of Sir Arthur Sullivan as seen in verse 10.
The rest of the chapter talks about prisoners being brought forth; interestingly it mentions the "blood of the covenant" in verse 11. That shows the King of Kings here but apparently can refer to the earlier promises from the Abrahamic covenant. We see the final blessings here in the last verse for the whole earth; and God's majesty in deliverance of prisioners and over all the enemies of the land. Verse 13 mentions the sons of Greece which certainly had some fulfillment in the book of Maccabees but could indicate some areas near where Antichrist rules from as being conquered with prisoners set free also.
Psalm 33 begins with a praise admonition for song with "noise" (v. 3); as well as "skillfully" played music with a variety of instruments in the surrounding verses being approved for use. In verses 3-5 we aslso see a "new song" mentioned which is associated with God's judgment and also reflecting His works (v. 4). This is reminiscent of the verses in Revelation 5:9 and 14:3 which reflects the earlier song of Moses starting before the end of Deuteronomy 31 and most of chapter 32. These show judgments that will occur which finally will bring Israel to the right standing with God.
We see further description in verses 6 through 10 of the creation of earth as well as the fear of the Lord (verse 8) and devices o men coming to naught (v 10); a theme repeated elsewhere in Psalms and other passages as I noted in other commentaries previously.
Verses 10 through 14 get into the general state of nations; if their trust is in the Lord. This indeed may not be the case now; but at His coming there will be a major change in the attitude of many remaining as seen in Isaiah 19:23 for example.
Once again verses 16 through 17 show what Solomon should have heeded to in multiplying horses and gold and silver; clearly David's foolish census taught him that lesson!
Ultimately the promise is in verse 19 to deliver from death for rhose who fear him (v. 18). THe theme of hope and truste end out this Psalm; which are things we should patiently heed in these last days.
This chapter discusses the humbling of Egypt but also puts hope into the future restoration of the Southern Kingdom with Assyria (mainly located to the north) which encompasses much of northern Iraq today. There can only be true peace with an individual and a nation when repentance occurs and the true God is worshipped. Such will be the case when they are ruled by a fierce king (verse 4). It appears that God will send a man of God to save Egypt after they call for help (verse 20). I believe that Heliopolis is the name of the "city of destruction" listed in verse 18. In any case; a true bond between the nations occurs after the Lord returns; when a highway between Assyria and Egypt occurs. Egypt is God's people and Assyria the work of God's hands. Only Israel is God's inheritance; his unique nation of which we are grafted into. Exodus 19:5 speaks of the status of a "special treasure" provided that His people remain obedient for Israel. As always; God begins His judgments with His own; whether it is judging the church first ( 1 Peter 4:17); or those of the original covenant promises. There will be some; although very few who survive through the whole coming Tribulation who will repopulate the earth; and other verses indicate specifically for Egypt that their survival is determined by obedient appearance before the Lord or there is "no rain" ( Zechariah 14:18). The droughts of the earth or man made blockade of the Nile clearly affect them as seen in verses 4-10; and of course such judgments will be worldwide during the seal and trumpet judgments; as well as those the two Prophets perform through the power of God at that time. It would appear that in some nations; there will be a larger remnant of true believers left than in others-ultimately; that will be largely determined by those who take the Mark of the Beast or refrain from it as to their final fate. The first group will be destroyed at the onset; the rest of the survivors will enter the Millennium.
Hi John. I saw your other comment to clarify this one here. Though just to clarify, the prophecy in Isaiah chapter 19 is prophecy of Egypt's downfall yet to be accomplished in the future & does not refer to the plagues it suffered in Exodus chapter 7 onwards. I was concerned that you may have got that confused - hopefully not. Blessings.
Nevermind I answered my own question, I just didn't pay attention to how it was worded, It says it right there, This is a Prophecy ( therefore meaning before it happened it was foretold) Sorry, I should have paid a little more attention to what I was reading. Have a Blessed Day!
Hi Eric , I honestly can't answer your question for a certainty , I'm not a history expert , it seems to me that at the begining of the chapter Egypt is worshipping idols , false gods , and by the end of it they have turned to the One and Only Everlasting God Almighty , The Holy One of Israel , I think that that is the point of this prophesy .You are reading my favourite book in the Old Testament. It is full of historical events , some of them we can be sure we know about and some of them we are not so definate about . Please don't let that spoil your enjoyment of this awesome beautiful terrifying inspiring book . I truly love Isaiah . He ROCKS ! Enjoy .
Hi Eric. Isaiah 19:1-15. Has been fulfilled, and still being fulfilled till this day. And you are right, It's not talking about the time when Moses led Israel out of Egypt,
What time is this talking about? At first I thought the time of Moses. Per other discussions seems no time confirmed and its upon our interpretation (our time)?
How do we still have other races after the flood? The answer is because He has told us that throughout all of Scripture. God said that these nations of the earth would be against the nation of Israel for Israel's correction ( Isaiah 10:5), and that these nations would also be blessed at the end ( Isaiah 19:25).
On a side note; you commented concerning the Tower of Babel.
It is interesting to note that the dispersion of Shem, Ham, and Japheth, and their descendants is given in chapter 10, before the cause of their dispersion, which is recorded and explained in chapter 11.
This is an example of a figure of speech known as Hysterologia, (Hys-ter-o-log-i-a). This figure is used when something is put last, which ought, according to the usual order, come first. It is, in a sense, a transposition of connected events.
So then, the events of ( Genesis 10:5, 20, 31, 32) took place after the events of ( Genesis 11:1-9), and the events of ( Genesis 10:5, 20, 31, 32) took place because of the events of ( Genesis 11:1-9).
In other words, it was only after the "tower" ( Genesis 11:4) was built, and judgment was pronounced on the sons of Noah and others, that their language was then confounded, and the "GENERATIONS OF THE SONS OF NOAH" ( Genesis 10:1) were "scattered" ( Genesis 11:7, 8) from that general area into the different "isles" ( Genesis 10:5), "lands" ( Genesis 10:20), and "nations" ( Genesis 10:31), and "peoples" (Revelations 17:5) of the earth.
The information given concerning other "flesh," accounting for a male and female representative of each race to come aboard the Ark can be verified through Scripture. This can absolutely account for the other races of people on the earth after the flood of Noah's time, look at ( Genesis 6:17, 6:19, 7:15, 16, etc.).
The Strong's definition of "Gentile" is a "FOREIGN" nation from the nation of Israel. If there is no foreign nation to Israel because we are all from Adam, then what FOREIGN lands are the children of Noah proceeding into in Genesis 10:5? "By these were the isles of the Gentiles divided in their lands; every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations." Who are the "Gentiles"? How are the Gentiles a product of Adam if the Gentiles are FOREIGN to Adam? It can't be both ways.
The information concerning the "giants" being on the earth after the flood is also verified by Scripture in Genesis 6:4, "and also after that," also look at Numbers 13:33, Deuteronomy 3:11. If the "Sons of God" mentioned in Genesis 6:2, 4, are not fallen angels, then who do "giants" come from? Humans' mating with humans does not produce a giant.
If God said that "ALL FLESH" ( Genesis 6:17) would be destroyed that breathed the breath of life, how did the giants survive? Answer- because He told us they survived in Genesis 6:4. The great whales and sea creatures that breathe air survived, but we are not told that. We are told what we need to know. God uses both literal and figurative language, and it is our job to figure it all out. What we do know is that the word of God is the Truth.
How do we still have other races after the flood? The answer is because He has told us that throughout all of Scripture. God said that these nations of the earth would be against the nation of Israel for Israel's correction ( Isaiah 10:5), and that these nations would also be blessed at the end ( Isaiah 19:25).
God punishes Egypt for their sins against him, slavery and idolatry to name a few. God promises a civil war and the drying up of the Nile river as punishment. But after His judgement, God will allow Egypt to heal. He will allow peace between Egypt, Israel, and Assyria and the people of Egypt will be His people at last. There's always a chance of redemption for all of us, God gives us that chance. It's important to remember that and not let the chance we are given be in vain. Use the chance each one of us is given for nothing but our constant improvement.
God bless you sir. This is a great spiritual perception. It is actually coming to pass. Egypt is now pleading with Ethiopia concerning the DAM that has now been completed. The water of Nile is not sufficient for the for Egypt again and it might become a real calamity for Egypt. Interestingly, you saw it about 5 years ago. You are really inspired. God bless you
Note George: God creates all men / women in His likeness (since the fall). We are to be conformed / remade into His image = Christ Jesus. Other than the "Son of man," Jesus, ( John 1:1-3),God IS NOT a man. See: Numbers 23:19: God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
Keep in mind...this is a complete prophecy. It states they will be struck and then heal. Upon being heal they will make a covenant and keep it. Key....KEEP IT.
Yes, I read this many years ago but I didn't grasp it as I have the last couple of years. I noticed...everyone seem to walk over Egypt being his people. You never hear people talking about this.
In this chap I observed a thing in as in "Mark chap 13" Isiah is prophesying the same thing that Jesus Christ Told in Mark. This thing is telling us that Jesus Is Alpha and Omega
God showed Israel His wrath for they had turned from Him, assimilating with the Assyrians but they are still His children, and God chastiseth those He Loves and He returned His Blessing,to Israel and the works their hands was a blessing to the Assyrians for whom they worked. god showed
This may sound strange but this passage suggests that the Lord Yahweh is an Egyptian who created the Assyrian nation and inherited the people of Israel. This is not the regular understanding of this passage but that could be it 's real meaning.
HE God made Israel HIS inherited people, Assyria a people who HE formed to carry out his work from time to time throughout human history and Egypt, the entire continent of Africa, as it is called today, is comprised of people who HE God recognized as HIS.
Hello Danny, Yes this is prophecy and it is being fullfilled as we speak. Verse 6 is key to understanding this prophecy as I firmly believe it pertains to the The Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam project that began in 2012 and is scheduled to be completed in 2017. Part of the project entailed Ethiopia diverting the Nile rivers in order to construct the dam. See Verse 6 "And they shall turn the rivers far away and the brooks of defence shall be emptied and dried up the reeds and flags shall wither. " May our Lord Jesus Christ bless you and your loved ones with all spiritual blessings! Amen.
you can link verse 1 to isaiah 11 v 11 about the Lord's other hand. Egypt in OT referred to the whole of Africa. Harare is sun shine city and Zimbabwe has five cities. Indeed the other hand of God is here. Remember the Prestor John myth
