Sarah, may the Spirit grace us with HIS wisdom and HIS understanding.

Ecclesiastes 3:11 He hath made everything beautiful in his time: also he has set the world in their heart, that no man can find out the WORK THAT GOD MAKETH from the beginning to the end.

Isaiah 28:21 .....that he may do HIS WORK, his strange work; and bring to pass his act, his strange act.

The tree of (the) knowledge of GOOD and EVIL. One tree, two fruits within themselves. You can't eat one without eating the other.

Children are born without knowledge; the FATHER tells them DO NOT touch the stove, it's hot. HOW CAN THEY BELIEVE, they don't know what hot is. So the FATHER has to teach knowledge through the experience of extremes found in the world. GOOD AND EVIL; but also HOPE.

Romans 8:20 For the creature (creation) was made SUBJECT TO VANITY, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in HOPE.

In God's strange act he is choosing a FEW to become Sons of God; that they with him will deliver the rest of creation from corruption.

Romans 8:19 For the earnest EXPECTATION of the creature waiteth for the MANIFESTATION of the SONS OF GOD.

Romans 8:21 Because the creature itself shall ALSO BE DELIVERED from the bondage of corruption (death) into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

    Greetings in Jesus' name, Alec.

In this passage of scripture we can see that the pharisees were trying to trip Jesus up & condemn Him, as they always tried to, unsuccessfully. The sabbath was a convocation (an act or rehearsal) pointing to the 7th day 1000 year reign of Jesus Christ after His second coming. This is the rest spoken of in Hebrews that remaineth to enter into. Christian's don't enter into a day of the week, though there's certainly nothing wrong with observing the sabbath and the Lord's day.

    Concerning the pharisees:

13 But the word of the Lord was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.

    - Isaiah 28:13

This is why Jesus said in :

    Matthew 23:23 KJV

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

    John 1:17

For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

    I hope this helps you.

    Be well,

    Andrew

Apologies about using the abbreviation - saving space.

Re: A. Indeed, Paul refers to Isaiah 28:11,12 though it has to be understood why he referenced it in 1 Corinthians 14:21. Ephraim was warned that because of their sins they would be carried into the Assyrian captivity where they would hear strange languages. This was a judgment against them: both the captivity & hearing God's Word in a language they didn't understand. So Paul uses that warning to Ephraim for the abuse of the Gift of other Tongues in the Corinthian Church. When the Gift ought to be used correctly (i.e. with interpretation) for the edifying of the Church, the Corinthians disregarded that & uttered in a manner that was unintelligible, resembling the confusion & nonsense that Ephraim was subjected to. So Isaiah's prophecy wasn't an authority for the future Gift of other Tongues but a warning to the Church to use the Gift correctly or else it would be of no use ( 1 Corinthians 14:7-11).

B: The Trinity. Whether of the 'Babylonian trinity' or 'Constantine's invention at the Council of Nicaea', I care little, since my appeal is to the Scriptures & I added the testimony of a couple of the early Church fathers. True, there is only one God & there is one Mediator between God & men, but we still have a problem when Scriptures reveal the Divinity of this Man Jesus. Even in John1:1-14, how can we disregard the Word of God, issued out of the Essence of God Himself, being sent forth into the World in a body of flesh. Is that impossible for God or could it be that our minds have difficulty in comprehending such a miracle? Also, could not God have provided another lamb (a special one-off creation & of complete purity) to be sacrificed for sinners? Why create a new sinless man for that purpose? Or, maybe it has something to do with the declaration of God's Love in the giving of Himself when no other sacrifice would be acceptable to Him. Philippians 2:5-11 is another compelling Scripture. Blessings to you.

    Greetings in Jesus' name, Chris.

Please forgive me not replying sooner, but I didn't see you had addressed your message to me due to the abbreviation.

    A.

So concerning Isaiah 28:11-12. If this is not prophesying of the Holy Ghost as you claim; then why does Paul quote it in 1st Corinthians when speaking about the Holy Ghost and speaking in tongues?

    1 Corinthians 14:21-22

21 In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.

22 Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.

Jesus himself said that those who believe will speak in other tongues: Mark 16:17

    17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

    B.

As per your claim that the apostles believed in a "trinity" of gods, that is heresy. Every Jew (including Jesus) was taught from an early age on that there is only one God in reciting the Shema ( Deut. 6:4) Jesus quoted it in Mark 12:29:

And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The LORD our God is one LORD:

Paul (also raised as a devout Jew under Gamaliel) also understood this:

    1 Timothy 2:5

    5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

    1 God + 1 man (in whom God dwelt - 2 Cor 5:19) does not = 3 "gods".

Research the pagan trinity of babylon (Nimrod, Semiramis & Tammuz) and how Constantine united pagans and "christians" @ the same time he was slaughtering Christians because they were just growing stronger the more he had them killed.

    Numbers 23:19

19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

God did not become a man. God is a Spirit ( John 4:24).

To OTITW KJV. Just to clarify a couple of your references.

    a. Isaiah 28:11,12: "For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing..." If you read this portion of Scripture, it has nothing to do with the experience of speaking in other tongues. It has to do with the Assyrian captivity, when Ephraim (one of Joseph's sons) is particularly mentioned who would go into captivity along with Israel, because of their many sins & wicked prophets & priests. Instead of hearing the Word of God through His prophets, they would receive the Word from those "with stammering lips & another tongue", i.e. another nation & another language, implying that the Word given would also be spoken in scorn & derision to God's people. This verse has nothing to do with the spiritual gift of Tongues.

    b. the 'doctrine of the Trinity'. You would have a hard time to deny the Trinity, as it was not only believed by the apostles & the early Church ( John 17:5, Matthew 28:19, John 20:28, etc), but was also believed by the early Church fathers (i.e. those who were eminent men in the post-apostolic Church, after the apostle John). Names such as Ignatius ("For our God, Jesus the Christ, was conceived by Mary according to God's plan..."; "There is only one physician, who is both flesh and spirit, born and unborn, God in man, true life in death, both from Mary and from God, first subject to suffering and then beyond it, Jesus Christ our Lord."). And Polycarp ("Now may the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the eternal High Priest himself, the Son of God Jesus Christ, build you up in faith and truth...and to all those under heaven who will yet believe in our Lord and God Jesus Christ and in his Father who raised him from the dead."). And not to mention Justin Martyr, Irenaeus, Tertullian, Hippolytus, Origen, who all believed it. This is not an RC introduced belief.

Part 2 Bible plan for tongues

    Acts 9: 17, 18,

Paul, called Saul then, who wrote a lot of the new testament, recieved the Holy Ghost.

    1 Corinthians 14:18:

Paul mentions he thanks God he speaks with tongues more than you all!

Paul wrote chapters 12, 13, and 14 about spiritual gifts, the proper use of speaking in unknown/other tongues.

    Acts 10,

a man name Cornelius, a gentile, a devout man of God, who prayed always to God, had not yet known of or recieved the Holy Ghost.

Peter was sent to him and his household by the Lord, he preached to them the Gospel, and the Holy Ghost fell on Cornelius household, all gentiles! The bible says because they heard(visual sign and sound)them speak with tongues and magnify God! Then they were baptised! Acts 10: 44 - 48.

    Acts 19: 1 - 7:

Paul came to disciples of John, asking them if they had recieved the Holy Ghost SINCE THEY BELIEVED! They said they never heard of the Holy Ghost! Paul laid hands on them, when the Holy Ghost fell on them, they spake with tongues(Visual sign/sound). They were baptized in water.

    In conclusion:

    Mark 16: 17,

    Isaiah 28: 11, 12,

    John 3: 5 - 8,

Jesus spoke of a new birth to enter the Kingdom of God; a Water and Spirit birth/called the Holy Ghost.

    He said there would be a visible sign;

like wind you cannot see, but there is a SOUND.

In his Name believers would speak with new tongues.

Isaiah prophesied this would be the rest/refreshing for the people.

In the book of Acts this is fullfilled consistently when the Holy Ghost was poured out!

God's Spirit in you: the rest/refreshing, a visual sign of his presence in you, speaking from your heart out of your human mouth a new heavenly language, pure, beautiful and Holy!

The bible plan for speaking with tongues.

God gave visual signs throughout the bible of his presence.

God chose speaking tongues as a visual sign when you recieve the Holy Ghost!

Jesus said out of the abundance of your heart, the mouth speaks. Matthew 12:34.

When God gives you his Spirit, he puts it in your heart; Galations 4: 6.

So what is in your heart comes out of your mouth.

    Jesus said:

    Mark 16:17:

Believers will speak with new tongues.

    Isaiah 28: 11, 12,

prophecied it is the rest/power, to cause the weary to rest; refreshing.

    John 3: 5 - 7:

Jesus spoke about a new spiritual birth you will recieve when you are born again. Then he added: John 3: 8:

The WIND bloweth where it listeth, and thou HEAREST the SOUND thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is EVERYONE that is born of the Spirit.

    Who did he say?

    EVERYONE!

This scripture is fullfilled in Jerusalem in the upper room, the Holy Ghost was first poured out: Acts 2: 1 - 4:

And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

And suddenly there came a SOUND from heaven as of a rushing mighty WIND and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

And there appeared unto them cloven TONGUES like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to SPEAK WITH OTHER TONGUES, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Here you see that SOUND from heaven as a rushing mighty WIND is Holy Ghost/speaking with other tongues!

    Acts 2: 33:

Peter told the jews which were speaking in another tongue/language, this is the promise of the Holy Ghost that they now SEE(VISUAL SIGN), and HEAR(YOU WILL HEAR A SOUND.)

    Acts 2: 16 - 19.

Peter told the jews the prophet Joel spoke about it.

    Acts 8: 14 - 20:

Simon the sorcerer saw when Peter and John laid hands on jews, he SAW POWER(THE VISUAL SIGN) when they recieved the Holy Ghost, and offered money for it!

    Acts 9: 17, 18,

Paul, called Saul then, who wrote a

    To Earl Bowman. Isaiah 28:13-19

Lucifer was A CREATED ARCHANGEL. 4th in line to the Throne. He was cast down to the Earth. He became Satan. He was NOT human. He had no ability to produce children, unless you refer to evil spirits? Lucifer was in charge of praise and worship to God. He lost his position and name also when he was cast out.

13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that THOU WAS CREATED.

14 Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.

15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.

16 By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.

17 Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.

19 All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more.

    Revelation 12:9

And the GREAT DRAGON was cast out, that old SERPENT called the DEVIL and SATAN, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

SEE ISAIAH 14:12-16, to read more of Lucifer.

    Dear Author,

Greetings in the name of almighty Jesus. 'Praise God', Amen!

My name is Orex Job Kombea, a Christian fellow.

I am bit clinked and alarmed in the points that you put out from the Book of Genesis. I have few ideas and conceptions.

"The Biological perspectives are impacted for the Biblical purposes as a whole world. The Book of Genesis may not only the avenue that soughts the knowledge on

the Biological Sciences in the Bible. But there are other books that sought the references how God designed and created the Biological world which mankind may uncover that seems the mystery.

The book of Isaiah 28:10 quotes; "For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little". Which implies that the Biblical Science quotes are not that aligned into the analytical sequence so that mankind may identify them into the quick and easy paces. They are scattered all over in the book of Bible into both the Old and the New Testaments. Therefore, we'll have to seek them bit by bit and discover them, and literally analyse them into a whole reference that will become a whole approached knowledge.

Into such a concept the Biological perspectives are impacted for the Biblical purposes. Romans 8:28. "And we know that in all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose" .

For instance, What is the purpose of the animal 'BIRD'? Since every creation is created and made for purposes it got its name: acrostically we define it. "Best Informer Resource Daily". Birds' devine purpose is to inform mankind for daily time telling globally.

Note: every creation got its name for its purposes. Therefore the name that each creation got is power and life for purpose. Like the name 'JESUS', " Jehovah Saves Us". Sarah and Abraham changed their names and they experienced the blessing, 'son Isaac'. Name is purpose.

    I be contacted for further!

    Thank you.....

You cannot build, where there is no foundation. you cannot insert doors or windows where there are no walls. Everything must be done step by step. First things first.

You cannot build a roof if there is no structure with walls to support the weight of the roof.

So too, every precept must be upon precept, and you cannot add a precept where there are no precepts. To walk you must first be able to stand, to run you must first be able to walk. Stand, walk, run.

Growth and maturity come with the process of time.

Nothing just happens. Precept must be upon precept.

Hello Sonti, I applaud you for wanting to read and understand the Bible. It can at times seem difficult, but really it's the perfect book, because it interprets itself. Isaiah 28:10 says you need to read more in depth.
    1. Open your bible randomly, and pick ANY verse and read it.
    2. Now go to the beginning of that chapter and read all the way down to that original verse -- does it give more meaning?
    3. Each verse in the bible will have another verse that corresponds. If you look in the middle of your bible page, you will see the verse that you originally read, and it will have verses from other books to reference, they will provide even more clarity.
    4. Pray for understanding ask God to help

Isaiah 28:9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.

Much of the chapter is about judgment. God is the destroying storm, the one who trods those who err under his feet, the one who eats up the glorious beauty or pride of men. He is the spirit of judgment, the overflowing scourge that passes through and he who sweeps away the refuge of lies.
  • Gary Olsen on Isaiah 28 - 7 years ago
Continuing with verse 1, "glorious beauty" or what it is that fills you with pride is called a "fading flower" which means that it's all going to go away or be taken away. "The head of the fat valleys" means those with great wealth who wield power. "To be overcome with wine" means your eyes are filled with the material stuff of this world and you have no room for God in your heart of mind.
