When I read 1 & 2 from this chapter I remember present world...Yes, our Heavenly Father still wait for labourers to wipe away his children's tears and to comfort their heart & soul. Yes, that's why He sent sent His only begotten Son into this world...

700 before Christ and the inspired word of God states plainly for all to see, the Earth is round and this is proven only by Meggelan 2,200 years later. Read this and weep unbelievers and Lefties, for our God reveals the truth inherent in His word.

Isaiah 40v28 says Have you not known? have you not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the creator of the ends of the earth, faints not, neither is weary? there is NO searching of HIS understanding..... verse 31, BUT they that wait, they that trust, they that lean, UPON the LORD SHALL renew their strength; they Shall mount up with wings as eagles; they Shall run and not be weary, and they SHALL walk and faint not...... what are we growing weary off? The Lord says in Jeremiah 31v25 For I have satiated the Weary soul and I have replenished every sorrowful soul... (whooo) HE is the ALMIGHTY GOD Who WE can put ALL our trust in, when all else fails TRUST HIM, he will lift you up.
  • Linda Pfan on Isaiah 40:31 - 11 years ago
As a child waiting always seemed to mean ...wait until later. Now as God's child I wait with expectation for what He will do.

We all see the grass withering and the flowers fading, what can't physically see is that for ever, God's Word is settled in Heaven. Psalm 119v89. People may try to alter the words and the meanings of the words but it won't alter it in Heaven. Jesus said the word that he had spoken shall judge us in the last day. John 12v48 so it is vital that we maintain the integrity of his word so that no man will be misled and we will be held to account for deliberately misleading others about the doctrines in the bible.

My favorite verse! Isaiah 40:31 tells us how we need to depend on the Lord for our strength, for we can not fly without Him. We are dependent upon the Lord.

    @Stan Unger,
I googled your first post "God the Son” in the Bible and there was a lot to read there.
Also the same as for Trinity and Rapture being used in the Bible. As for your second post I found this to be helpful: Psalm 87:2-3 says, “The LORD loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob. Glorious things are said of you, O city of God.” Occurring over 150 times in the Bible, the word “Zion” essentially means “fortification.” In the Bible, Zion is both the city of David and the city of God.
As the Bible progresses, the word “Zion” transitions from referring primarily to a physical city to having a more spiritual meaning.
The first mention of the word “Zion” in the Bible is 2 Samuel 5:7: “Nevertheless, David captured the fortress of Zion, the City of David.” “Zion,” therefore, was originally the name of the ancient Jebusite fortress in the city of Jerusalem. “Zion” came to stand not only for the fortress but also for city in which the fortress stood. After David captured “the stronghold of Zion,” Zion was then called “the City of David” ( 1 Kings 8:1; 1 Chronicles 11:5; 2 Chronicles 5:2). When Solomon built the temple in Jerusalem, “Zion” expanded in meaning to include the temple and the area surrounding it ( Psalms 2:6; 48:2, 11-12; 132:13). “Zion” was eventually used as a name for the city of Jerusalem, the land of Judah, and the people of Israel as a whole ( Isaiah 40:9; Jeremiah 31:12; Zechariah 9:13). The most important use of the word “Zion” is in a theological sense. “Zion” is used figuratively of Israel as the people of God ( Isaiah 60:14). The spiritual meaning of “Zion” is continued in the New Testament, where it is given the Christian meaning of God's spiritual kingdom, the heavenly Jerusalem ( Hebrews 12:22; Revelation 14:1). Peter refers to Christ as the Cornerstone of Zion: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in Him will never be put to shame” ( 1 Peter 2:6).

God is our power house, until He empowers us we are chaff. John 15:4 says abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abides in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. So, Christ is the source of our strength.
  • Paul on Isaiah 40:31 - 11 years ago
I wish to address myself. As a believer in need of grace as such, verses like this one motivate me not to relent in my pursuit of salvation, because that's what I pray for.
  • Jay on Mark 11 - 12 years ago
On verse 24, as a reminder that much of what is being read in the gospels before the cross is prophetic doctrine for the Jews to happen after the rapture of the body of Christ (the church). All can be used for spiritual application in this age of grace (church age). We must compare scripture with scripture to achieve absolute truth ( John 5:39; I Corinthians 2:13). In verse 23 the mountain represents spiritual obstacle that will come your way to try and interfere with getting you off the course that the lord has placed you on. But with the faith of ( Ephesians 3) and allowing Jesus to work through us by humbling ourselves before him and following the rule in James 4:1-3 and Isaiah 40:31, we will overcome any obstacles. And prayers will be answered according to needs and God's plan for our lives. Do not pray for a Rolls Royce when a Chevy will do!

God has set a time and season for His people. Waiting upon the lord implies accepting God's timing. You don't wait on God to give Him something. We wait to get. Any man who wait shall always get what he want from God. Learn to wait, there shall be no regret.

I like Isaiah because God has giving me courage to still stand in front of people and read I really was a very shy person but he put me in the right path. I’m so thankful he is so awesome. Thank you God.
  • Mark on Isaiah 40:31 - 12 years ago
It shows the supply & the essence of waiting upon God... It also teaches that there is a strenght in believers that needs to be constantly renewed...thus, having strenght is not the end.

Isaiah 9:6 Tell us his name shall be called wonderful counsellor,The Mighty God everlasting Father prince of peace.God said in ( Isaiah 43:19) Behold I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth shall ye not no it? well I guess that being proven. As far as Christ being a man and God at the same time and not! being able to govern the Universe that's a misconception of the human mind. Jesus said to Nicodemus a man who was confused like many here today StJohn 3:12 If I have told you of earthly things and you believe not how shall you believe if I tell you of heavenly things and no man hath ascended up to heaven but the same that came down from heaven even the Son of Man which IS IN HEAVEN!!hello. The Bible dose not say God the Son because The Godhead is not divide because the Son is only the (Word) which is God's prophetic description of himself which he incarnated into flesh. Not another person!! bur the expressed image of his!! person.Hebrews1:3( John 14:9-11) Jesus did not say he that seen me hath seen God the Son he said hath seen the Father ( Colossians 2:9 for in him dwells all the fulness of the Godhead bodily Christ is not a fallen man like us. We can't limit what he can do; because of what we! cant do or don't understand that's why 1Tomothy 3:16 say's its a mystery. Not every one will understand; that's the book that is called the Revelation of Jesus Christ says blessed is him that readeth and understands.( Philippians 2:19)say who being in the form of God thought it not robbery to be equal with God; But made himself of no reputation and took upon him the form of a servant. Yes he dose pray to his own spirit Deity!( Ephesians 1:9 says Having made known unto us the Mystery of his will according to the pleasure which he purposed in himself. Hello!!11th verse who worketth all things after the counsel of his own will.( Isaiah 40:10)Behold the Lord God will come with a strong hand and his arm shall rule for him. verse 13 who hath directed the spirit of the Lord; or being his counsellor hath taught him? with whom took he counsel Who instructed him and taught him in the path of Judgment and taught him Knowledge, and taught to him the way of understanding. Matthew 11:27 All things are delivered to me of my Father and no man knoweth the Son but the Father neither knoweth any man the Father save the Son and HE to whom THE SON WILL REVEAL HIM. So there you no nothing of the father but what Jesus has revealed blessed is he that readeth and understands.

We need the Lord's strength simply because we are weak,we need eagles' wings to fly over seas of sorrow,we need to run not of fear but because we need to preserve our lives so we could share our experiences with others, near the end of the road we just need to walk 'cause we could never rest here, our rest is in heaven.Thank you Lord 'cause you it all to us

If the Earth is spherical So why the church refuse this Idea... and fight to prove that the Earth is Flat --- Galileo also was damned when we claimed that the Earth is spherical ... so Circle is not a sphere ... thanx
