The words leaders carry a deeper meaning.. Leaders of the nation, courts,schools,churches,homes.. So it 's detail meaning is hidden causes the reader to look outside of himself . Every person at some point in his life becomes a leader.. When we see the word leaders we look at leaders and say they and wrong biblically but it 's us as a people spiritually than stand in need of correction

Isaiah 9 6 is a scripture that brings clarity of who Jesus Christ REALLY is! Remember 'He said in the Gospels Before Abraham was I am ". Though He was born long after Abraham, yet He declares He existence to be before Him,.. meaning Jesus is The Son, Mighty God Everlasting Father , and the Holy Spirit, because God is a Spirit. Remember God is One, not Three. He is a jealous God. We are reminded in Eph. 4.5 6 " One Lord One Faith One Baptism. One God Father... God Bless.

We will keep neglecting the calamities and keep ignoring the presence of God in our culture. Ultimately leading to the second coming of Christ.

That is to say,Jesus Christ is our Eternal Lord and God and Saviour. His essence,Power and Authority remain the same even before the beginning of all things, both those in Heaven and on earth and beneath the earth or the sea.Though all things shall pass but He is Everlasting God. He is known as the Mighty God and Everlasting Father( Isaiah 9:6),meaning He ever existed and created all things in His power ( John 1:1-3, Colossians 1:16). He is the Sustainer of all things ( Colossians 1:17),without Him nothing will exist ,including dark spirits. He is the Saviour of the world(Redeemer). He is the only Loving God who laid His life down to save all men from the death penalty of their sins when everybody had gone astray( Isaiah 53:4-6)-Behold,the Lamb of God Who takes away the sin of the world! ( John 1:29). He is the Supreme Judge for all humans( Matthew 25:31-46),and the Sovereign Lord Who is to come and reward the good deeds of men,and punish men for their wickedness( Revelation 22:12-13).

Isaiah 9v6" a child is born a son is given" Jesus was 100% man and 100% God. The 100% man is related to a child born from Mary and the 100% God is related to the son that was given. The son was not born because He existed already:"let us make man to our image."It was the child that was born.jesus present himself as the word, the truth and the life. John said the word become flesh.jesus is God. Amen

He came in his Father's name, because his Father's name is Jesus. God was known by many names/titles in the past. But it is written that Jesus is God's name, and the only name to fulfill what is clearly written! Such as but not limited to, Malachi 1:11, Jesus name fulfills this. Philippians 2:9, Again, Jesus name is known above every name. Isaiah 9:6 tells us Jesus is God, and St. Matthew 28:19 was followed by the Apostles when they baptized in Jesus name only; the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Acts 2:21, the name that saves!

  • Mprince on John 1 - 11 years ago
@ Mark John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
    Also, Revelations 1.

@Mark...Isaiah prophesied in Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
It appears from both of these scriptures the Word was made flesh at the time of the birth of Christ.

I believe and the government shall be on His be on
His government means.government means that to have
domenion to have rule over a city or state.but during His time. What did it mean when Christ was born and walk into His ministriy or what exactly did Isaiah when the Lord showed him the chosen one?In it's simpless form that a child would understand?Because as I share this word not a soul would like "what'?is the mening of shoulders would it be to carry, like carring us on His shoulders? As they march on to CALVERY known as the skull?
  • Bobby Simser on John 10:18 - 11 years ago
Darrel, Jesus is God! In Isaiah 9:6-7 we read of the foretold birth of Christ but are also given his names: For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this. AND.... In John 1 we read: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. John 1 :14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us... Hebrews we read: God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high: ... Hope this helps you see the truth that Jesus is in deed God! :-)
  • Antonio Coleman on Isaiah 9:6 - 11 years ago
There are is no such thing as God(s). There is only one and his name is Jesus Christ. 1 John 5:7 says there are three that bear record in heaven. The father the word and the holy spirit and these three are one. John 1:1 says in the beginning was the Word and the Word was with GOD the Word was GOD... That whole description was of Jesus. In the bible no one verse stands alone. There is always other verses that compliment and/or justify the initial verse that is being read. Prime example is the two verses I listed. Another example is John 8:58 Jesus said befor Abraham was I Am. In Exodus 3:14 GOD said to Moses I Am that I Am.

The name of the child to be born shall be called The Almighty "God", The everlasting "Father" ( Isaiah 9:6)...the same name "was the Word" and "was with God" and "was God" in the beginning ( John 1:1-2) who "was made flesh" ( John 1:14)...and it was the "Word" of God ( Revelation 19:13)...which is "a name written, that no man knew, but he himself" ( Revelation 19:12)...and it was the "name of the Father" whom Jesus Christ manifested and declared to those whom he has chosen out of this world to KNOW him and his Father ( John 17:1-26)
  • Steven Samson on 1 Timothy 3:16 - 11 years ago
I believe 1Timothy 3:16 as "G-d revealed in the flesh. eg. Isaiah 9:6 where Jesus is referred to as the "Mighty G-d", Revelation1:8 Jesus is the Alpha & Omega,(The first and the Last) which can only applied to the Almighty G-d. and the "Almighty G-d" in the same verse is applied to Jesus. See also Genesis Chapter 18 where one of the three men is Jehovah.C/F John 4:24;5:37; Coll. 2:8-9
    Good for discussion.

You can correct me ok. My thought is that my parents gave me my physical body but GOD put my soul or me in the body. Was Jesus born and GOD put Jesus the person in the body which would be GOD himself?
  • Annette on 1 Timothy 3:16 - 11 years ago
For the person who wrote "who", what do you do with Isaiah 9:6. For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government shall be on his shoulder and his name shall called Wonderful, Counsellor, The Almighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
  • Lance Mahan on 1 John 5:7 - 11 years ago
John 4:24 God is a spirit. That is why no one has ever seen God in fullness.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the word and the word was with God and and the word was GOd.

John 1:14 The word was made flesh and dwelt among us.

If God is the word and dwelt among us then who is GOd? Jesus would be the flesh.

Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

He is the Father, Son and God.

Rev 1:8 and 11 Iam the Alpha and Omega the beginning and the ending, and whish was, which is to come , the Almighty.

11:Saying I am the first and last: etc.......

Isaiah 44:6 Thus saith the Lord King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the lasts and besides Me there is no other GOd.

Only one GOd and He was made flesh and He is the first and Last. Jesus spoke it in Revelation that He was Fist and last.

Only one God, Isaiah speaks of One God and in John 5:7 the three are ONE. The reason Jesus is praying to the father is that He was also flesh and the flesh was not Glorified yet. Yet Jesus did not sin because He couldn't because He was GOd.

This is why Peter can say in Acts what name to be baptized by. Peter knew Jesus as God and His name is above all names.

i can see all your intreptations, but Jake your intreptation is a good breakdown im feelin it.
  • Rev. Autrey on Matthew 16 - 11 years ago
Jesus asked the question, "Who do you say I am?" Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of God." The word Christ or the anointed one had a special meaning to the Jews. They knew it to mean God Himself, who would come and deliver his people from their enemies. "But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, are only a small village in Judah. Yet a ruler of Israel will come from you, one whose origins are from the distant past." "And he will stand to lead his flock with the Lord's strength. ..." ( Micah 5)

Isiah said of him, "For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. And the government will rest on his shoulders. These will be his royal titles: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God. ..." ( Isaiah 9:6)

Don't be confused by the term "Son of God." It is just the way God spoke of himself when he was born as a human.

So the good news is, God has come to save his people. And his name is Jesus the Christ.
