  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson on James 1 - 11 years ago
Hello Jim Hebrews 11 1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. James 2 17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. You have to have the Holy Ghost and follow Acts 2 38 the salvation plan. This is the action that you take after you believe that Jesus Christ is both Lord and Savior. The devils believe and tremble, James 2 19 Thou believest that there is one God thou doest well the devils also believe, and tremble.
  • Jim on James 1 - 11 years ago
The word of the Eternal is just and true and obedience to it will guarantee salvation. But blind faith and many words of praise are useless if not followed by righteous action

  • Will Knau on James 1:5 - 11 years ago
If anyone lacks wisdom knowledge intelligence, just simply ask God. Any request for knowledge is a stepping stone to finding the truth of or in all knowledge. He promises here that you will not be reproached, upbraideth not chastised, 'put down '. The promise here is you will receive the knowledge that you request. He doesn 't say he 's going to help someone just because they are christian or they might be a religous leader either. This is for everyone that needs help. That is reflected in the surrounding verses.
  • Bill on James 1:21 - 11 years ago
I believe the Holy Spirit is the engrafted implanted Word, referred to in James 1 21, receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. The phrase save your souls, in this context, does not mean to save from eternal condemnation. It means to sanctify. Thus the child of God is commanded to receive i.e, accept the engrafted Word the Holy Spirit Who teaches us the written Word and impresses upon our heart truths that we need in order to grow. In other words, He sanctifies us through the Word. Jesus prayed, Sanctify them through thy truth thy word is truth John 17 17 .
  • Junior on James 1:27 - 11 years ago
We ought to worship God in truth and spirit by being obedient to his statues and expressing his love to others.
  • Skycastle-sc on James 1:13 - 11 years ago
we lust after what we love or desire to have this verse is telling those who will fall into sin due to their lost and then try to attribute it to God that is not so let me just say u ate tempted by your affections and or priorities.
  • KokTho on James 1 - 11 years ago
James ' emphasis on sanctification good works seems at odds with the widely accepted idea that salvation is by " justification alone " to the extent that Lutherans have moved the book of James to the latter sections of their Bible. So, salvation according to James is both justification and sanctification ?

By going through diverse temptations, in it God make man to become a perfect person, more faithful, well spiritually strong 1 peter 5 10 , and after you have through with it, it will give you great ability to handle your forthcoming glory which God prepare for you. and you will become a mature person that can able to stand for high responsibility.
  • Sandra on James 1 - 11 years ago
Falling into temptation is never on purpose. Your strive to please God must be intentional Where you lack wisdom you should ask God,He gives it freely. You can 't go wrong. When you fall in temptation it let 's YOU know what 's in you. Then there is no debate whether or not you are a certain way. Then you can ask God for the stability you need to please Him. Therefore the trial does make you strong in the long run. You either want to please God or you don 't! That 's where you find out whether you are double minded or not. We are imperfect but we shouldn 't be doubleminded.
  • Katie on James 1 - 11 years ago
AL...HI! A double minded man is someone who is double minded. Someone who wavers back and forth. They are uncertain and divided. What it basically means is they feel a certain way about something one day and the next day they have changed their mind about it already and never really getting around to establishing their true faith and beliefs. I sure hope that helps. You should get you a Strongs Concordance and use it to understand the bible better. It has cleared up so many things for me. Such a helpful tool for the serious bible student. You must use it in conjunction with the KJV bible though. I don 't recommend any other bible anyways! God bless!

God works with each one of us to the way needed to be. We r made unique and he knows us, individually. We r to be hungry for him in order for God to work in us. We will fallings but God is always there to pick us up an continue carrying us.
  • Ugonda on James 1 - 11 years ago
James chapter one verse 27 Talks about Christians visiting the fatherless and widows in their affliction Now days some so called Christians wouldn 't visit you if their life depends on it.but in the bible days of old they sure did as god told them . But James told it just like it was he didn 't candy coat it for no one and I appreciate reading his chapters.

We are servant of God,we shall serve him by doing for others and be obience to his will, not to tempted by the things of the world, and having the faith that Lord will give me what I need not what I want and have the faith to wait on him,and keep praying
  • Charity Mamphiswana on James 1:21 - 11 years ago
So long as sin any type of offence towards God exists in one 's life, it is entirely impossible for the WORD of God to sink in and Stay in one 's heart to help the soul maintain justification and spotlessness before God.
  • Bolanle on James 1:3 - 11 years ago
I have been through a lot and see God come through when I least expected. Now in the midst of another trial, but I 'm holding on to his promises without wavering. God is good through it all!

"For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways. " This word is only found in Bible written long ago. This word saith flower above grass will not be forever. But we must think of our soul which will last in result place of our faith.
  • Cjl on James 1 - 11 years ago

  • Kevin on James 1 - 11 years ago
I liked Verna 's comment on Chapter 1 of James. I was actually sensing, and feeling the Holy Spirit convicting me of exactly what Matthew Henry commentary described, and then Verna 's comment sealed it for me. I 'm going to study the commentary for a while. Praise be to Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, amen.
  • Verna on James 1 - 11 years ago
When I allowed myself to look inside my heart the word came alive sin no long had a grip on my life and God gave me strengths to overcome many things from the past that satan had trapped me with. This was very liberating when I allowed God to shed light in the dark places of my heart and open those rooms in my heart that I had closed.
  • Angela on James 1:3 - 11 years ago
this scripture assures me that my life and my living is not in vein. I suffer because he suffered. In that suffering I become more of him and less of myself
