Hello, it sounds like you're looking for a severity scale of sin. Scriptures don't seem to distinguish much between severity of sin (aside from blasphemy of the holy ghost). All sin is very bad. God hates sin. Some may try to deceive us into thinking some 'aren't that bad', but that is just temptation and attempts to justify it. We can't really be a Jesus follower and make plans to commit sin either. That act shows someone isn't a genuine follower as evidenced by this verse: Hebrews 10:26. 1 John 5:17, 1 John 1:9, James 4:7. God bless.

Hello Nakia. That's very sad that you have to face such people, especially those who are disabled, who enjoy being sarcastic to their assistants. Maybe their sorrowful state mixed with mental/emotional anguish puts some into that frame of mind, to want to degrade or attack others. Sarcasm comes in various degrees of verbal attack; it maybe very mild filled with innuendo right up to a very derogatory remark about you as a person, about your job, or even the type of service you give her. They might have nothing nice to say about you & very likely about anyone else - does she complain or gossip about others?

It is clear that you cannot avoid her, since you need to tend to her needs. Also, you probably cannot check her to tell her not to speak like that to you - it may only inflame her & may not be company policy to do so. I assume that you are a Christian, since you're presenting this problem on this Site to find advice. Therefore, the way the Lord would probably deal with such a person as this who is struggling within herself, is that you continue to show her love & respect, maybe even laugh it off when she darts off a snide remark to you. I know it is uncomfortable & even painful for you to do so, but real "love covers a multitude of sins" ( 1 Peter 4:8). Try and look past her words & see a very needy woman (physically & emotionally) hurting inside, who needs a loving greeting, kind words & the extra help that she needs - maybe check on her often during the day to see that she is comfortable & she might in time, find in her heart to accept you & shower you with praise instead of sarcasm. The Lord will see your good work which is of great value, rather than the fickle fading attitudes of others - rejoice in Him & serve others with the gift He has given you, with His Love & Care.

    One of my favorites!

The story about how Paul floated in from a shipwreck. They built a fire to get dry. A snake slithers out of the fire and bites Paul.

A rare super deadly variety of snake.

He knew what the scriptures say" no deadly thing" So everyone is huddled and waiting for Paul to keel over, but he didn't. God protected him.

Let God come to you. Practice Peace. He's not going to come in with trumpets blazing. He will come as a lamb; a still small voice.

John 3, has everything you need to get started.

After receiving Jesus as your Lord, Then HE baptises you with the promise of the indwelling Holy Spirit.

One of Holy Spirits ministry is to be your TEACHER in all things concerning Jesus. He helps you to pray rightly. He helps you to understand what you read in the Bible. ASK him for help.

When we are new in Jesus we may not be ready to receive speaking in tongues. It is for 'to rest' in Jesus, and be His beloved child.

To fast track what the Holy Spirit does, it may be easier to Google: Ministry of the Holy Spirit to Believers.

He gives the gifts and operations as you are ready to receive them. It also means quieting yourself, and just sitting before Him; in an attitude of quiet and listening. You may think of a Church song you love: sing it. "Enter His gates with praise."

A barrier to hearing, is the constant pollution of a tv on in the background. We do that because we don't like our thought life.

Holy Spirit is not going to shout revelation, over the noise of the world from tv. He waits for us to quiet ourselves. Tell your brain to be still.

Songs I may sing to Jesus: Nothing But the Blood of Jesus; Jesus Loves Me; I have decided to follow Jesus; I walk the line by Johnny Cash. Be Exalted,O God.

[Praise songs will fire up prayer life]

God inhabits our praises and angels hearken to our praises and spoken scriptures.

Peace and blessing be upon you

    Dear Terrt,

If you are a believer, then you have the Holy Spirit in you. He comes into every believer at conversion. If you are talking about an experience that some speak about of being "baptized in the Holy Spirit" or "filled with the Holy Spirit" this is not because a person does not already have the holy Spirit in them since conversion. Rater an outward experience of an inward work of God to bestow, empower, or release gifts and ministry to a believer or to assist a person in further surrender to God. Some people do exhibit an distinctive manifest experience a distinctive manifestation of this experience and others have an inner "knowing". God doesn't do a "one size fits all". The important thing is to believe that you have received what you have requested from God, because He has promised to answer such requests. We are called to walk in the Spirit, and we cannot do this if we do not have Him in us. But, thank the Lord, when we believe the gospel, the Holy Spirit comes in us to dwell and help us in realizing all that God has for a believer.

I called on the name Jesus Jesus Jesus over and over again as i was taught to by the House of God church Keith Dominion and i just dont know if i truly have the Holy Ghost. Im not a smart or intelligent person but i love the Lord. I failed God in a lot of areas. I dont want to end up in hell. Help me to truly know that i have the holy ghost. Hello Jackie,

I noticed your prayer request and your question like you were looking for input from others. Assuming you are I'm happy to offer a few observations based on what you shared. I have had challenges with my own neighbors and it is really challenging to love thy neighbor and pray for them when they may seem so opposing.

Sometimes the most helpful response is not the one someone wants or expects. A few things you said makes me believe you are equally responsible for the problems with your neighbor and I will be happy to share that, assuming you want to hear it.

First, are you loving your neighbor and praying for them? You have asked for prayer and I have prayed for your situation, but have you genuinely prayed for your neighbor and how to be more loving as the Bible teaches? Have you prayed for their salvation? James 4:12, Luke 6:32, Matthew 5:44, Mark 12:31.

Next, there is nothing wrong with security cameras. They are an important deterrant to criminals.

You said you were able to see in their window and read a poster. Were you snooping and peeking through your neighbors windows at their private things? If so, that seems very wrong.

I believe you called your neighbors adversaries, but they're not supposed to be enemies. The Bible says satan is your real adversary: 1 Peter 5:8.

You said they kept a package, but did you ask for it back? Maybe they were out of town. Did the company reimburse or mail another? This seems pretty easy to resolve and is a common problem.

You said they are suspicious, but maybe they think you are suspicious? If I caught someone looking in my windows that definitely be hard to get over.

To rekindle the relationship perhaps show love and lead by example- the card idea is great.

This likely wasn't what you wanted to hear, but maybe it is the helpful. God bless...

I believe Judas will go to hell, because he betrayed Jesus to help murder him for profit. This is like blasphemy and turning his back on Jesus. Peter denied Jesus, which might also be a form of blasphemy, however, I believe Jesus forgave him through a special circumstance- asking if he loved Him three times.

People are deceived if they believe everyone goes to heaven regardless of how much sick and vile evil they commit against God, like Hitler mass murdering people. Jesus already said most people will go to hell. Just read the gospels and his many parables. They are all similar themes- warning after warning.

Jesus died for everyone, but forgiveness is contingent upon someone humbling themselves, repenting, confessing, believing, declaring Jesus is Lord and accepting the gift. Acts 2:38 - this requires an action. It doesn't say 'Do nothing and ye shall receive the gift' or 'Keep sinning as much as you want...' Here's another action requirement: repentance: Luke 5:32. Here's another confessing: 1 John 1:9.

Romans 10:9 - notice the "If..." People don't say "if" unless it's conditional. Salvation is conditional.

This says to believe: 1 John 5:13. It doesn't say 'not believing is totally fine.' Romans 12:2 - this says to be transformed and to not conform to the world. That's a big bummer for those hoping for a free get out of hell free card to enjoy a lifetime of sin and guilty pleasures. Look at this: John 8:11 and even this: James 2:26. Another: James 4:6. Reading the Bible for what it is paints a very different picture than the little summaries people like to spread around. People who ignore all the Bible's teachings and do whatever they want should be afraid for their soul: Luke 12:5. God bless.

Christians have a decision to make: whether to trust and follow God's morals or the world's morals? Christianity (folllowing Jesus) isn't a one time event, but a lifelong pursuit. 1 Corinthians 9:24. It says to run the race (effort); it doesn't say the race is already finished. Some get off course and don't care.

Some Christians follow God's morals only to the point where it conflicts with the world's morals, then proceed with the world's morals instead. The result is following the world ( 1 John 2:15).

Despite Acts 2:38 saying to be baptized, some say "don't" be baptized.

Despite John 14:6 saying to go to Jesus, some say to go through a 'prophet' or pope.

Despite James 4:17 saying to avoid sin, some claim it's bad and 'legalism' to avoid sin.

Despite Psalm 139:13 saying unborn babies are special, some claim killing them is ok.

Despite Ezra 7:13 saying people have freewill, some claim they "don't" have freewill.

Despite Matthew 7:13 saying most people will go to hell, some say most will "not" go to hell.

Despite Matthew 10:28 warning us about hell, some say "there is no hell."

Despite 1 Timothy 2:12 saying women shouldn't teach, some say they "should."

Despite Leviticus 20:13 saying homosexuality is a sin, some say it's "not" a sin.

Despite John 15:10 saying to obey, some say it's ok to "not" obey.

Despite John 1:1 saying Jesus (the Word) is God, some say Jesus is "not" God.

Despite 1 John 5:7 saying 3 are one, some say the 3 are "not" one.

The rationalizing pattern seems to be: "No, the Bible doesn't say [what it actually says], but says [something I'm more comfortable with]". This format seems awfully similar to Genesis 3:4 where satan says "Ye shall NOT surely die." Satan is called the father of lies for a reason and some Christians assume they are immune to it.

Rationalizing the world's morals over God's morals seems to require ignoring scripture. Does anyone agree?

So, should we follow God's Word or man's word (which might be satan's word)?

    God bless...

Hi Timothy. Here are some Scriptures for you to consider:

    1 Corinthians 6:12; Titus 2:11,12; 1 Peter 5:8,9; James 1:12-15; James 4:7,8; 1 Peter 2:11; Romans 13:12-14; Romans 12:1,2.

All these Scriptures show how a Christian can live above the sinful cravings of the heart & mind - when we know that we need help & that help is beyond any power we can muster up, then we must cry to the Lord our God, submit fully to Him & daily trust Him to deliver us of anything that opposes godliness.

I had a few addictions to surrender to the Lord when I was saved by His Spirit; some things left off immediately, others took a little longer. But remember "it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure." Philippians 2:13. God will by His Spirit help an earnest repentant soul. If He is in the business of pulling out wayward souls from the coming fires of Hell through His Son's Sacrifice, He will certainly not forget a struggling child who is still ensnared by the wicked one.

Our strength to resolve our issues very quickly diminishes - God's great Power to deliver & heal awaits all who look only to Him & submit to His Will. And when temptation knocks at our door, we are reminded in 1 Corinthians 10:13, "There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it." But the part of that verse that tests our genuineness, is whether we see, acknowledge & use the door of escape that God provides for us. When that sin or addiction becomes something most hateful in us, we're on the road to physical, mental & spiritual recovery.

That is a question that has been asked for ages. Some feel that the devil knows your thoughts, while most others don't.

Scripture does not give a definite answer on that subject but scripture does indicate that not only the devil but some angelic beings have access to one's mind _ Acts 5:3 Satan filled the heart of Ananias _ Luke 22:3 Satan entered Judas _ Matthew 1:20 -25 an angel came to Joseph in a dream _ Genesis 31:11 an angel of the Lord spoke to Jacob in a dream. One can argue that to have access to one's mine doesn't mean they can read your thoughts.

    And there are these scriptures

Job 1:7-12 Satan before God discusses Job and the amount of access he can have to Just.

Ephesians 6:11-16 discusses to put on the whole armor of God and to *quench* the fiery darts of Satan.

James 4:7 tells us to *resist* the devil and *he will flee*.

1st Peter 5:8 tells us Satan is like a roaring lion *seeking* whom he can *devour.*

Revelation 12:10-12 the devil stands before God day and night accusing man, and woe to the inhabitants of the earth the devil has come down.

Scripture is clear - Jesus knew one's thoughts even while in a flesh body Matthew 9:4. To Jesus the spirit was given to him without measure John 3:34.

I believe Satan and certain angels have the ability to read some of someone's thoughts and Satan, being the accuser is allowed to influence those thoughts. I feel Satan and the angelic beings who have access to any thoughts of the minds/hearts of mankind are given a limited measure, unlike God who has full measure. Example what I'm going to eat for breakfast or what type of clothes I'm going to wear any given day isn't something they would need access to or even care about. But the part of the mind our decisions are made against good or for what we know is right, Satan knows our thoughts.

    Bea 2 questions

1- what happened to all the bodies of the the 1000's that died in biblical battles?

2- if Abraham lived 175 yrs. and Sarah 127, why were their bodies considered too old to produce or bear a child?

You are replying to a comment by "Bea"

    Here's some scriptures:

    1) Ecclesiastes 3:19,20

    2) James 4:13, 14; Isaiah 43:13

(old age causes lost of strength and many other issues. weak body parts etc.

in Sarah's case, she gave birth to many children with the help

    of God himself Psalm 83:18)

    Hope this answers your question.

Thanks for your response Adam, it is insightful and thoughtful. I have a few disagreements though. In regards to the definition - isn't our behavior influenced by either a submission to God or a submission to our flesh? James 4:7. Romans 8:6-8. I have yet to find a psychological theory about behavior that refers to God's word & sin and not worldly/secular explanations that are unbiblical. Doesn't it matter that psychology was heralded by people like Wundt, Freud, Jung, Skinner - all people who denied the Lordship of Jesus and were unbelievers? Matthew 9:17-18.

Positive thinking was started by Phineas Quimby who hypnotized people. He believed that the body was a reflection of the mind and all illnesses were a result of false beliefs. He had conversations with Mary Baker Eddy (Christian Science founder) and influenced her to believe that 'right thinking' in accordance with scripture could cure any ailment. I don't think that 'positive thinking' can be aligned with the word of God.

Philippians 4 says 'by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving', not by 'positive thinking'. I believe Matthew 6:34 is in relation to submitting to God and trusting in Him, something atheists do not do. It was not meant to just say "don't worry about tomorrow" (which would be worldly wisdom) but "trust in the Lord" which is Godly wisdom. I would argue that psychology says "trust in yourself" and the bible says "deny yourself", two viewpoints which are incompatible.

I would say counseling is good as long as it is biblical. Shouldn't everything center around the Lord and His word? If you talk to a counselor and they do not point you to the bible and Godly wisdom, the only other option is they are pointing you towards worldly wisdom. The bible says we have a heart issue, not a mental issue. Jeremiah 17:9-10.

1 Corinthians 1:18-25. Acts 17:10-12. I think everything needs to be tested against scripture.

Thanks for the discussion Adam, I appreciate you.

    Karl McGuire sr.

Hey Karl my understanding is, may someone else have another view. John was given a vision of the new earth and where we will be, and in verse 10 we are told the time is at hand. Our time on this earth is short like in ( James 4:14), and we may not be here tomorrow and at death that's it, the door is shut there is no redemption after death. The righteous will still be righteous and the wicked will still be wicked. Verse 11 is a warning and a call for those that have not repented and excepted Jesus as their savior and time is running out.

We are all naturally unjust, and filthy because of sin in us, some of us have been cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ. A righteous man is only righteous by the righteousness of Jesus. After the thousand years and judgment, only the righteous and holy will walk through those gates into the New Jerusalem, and verses 11 and 15 are those outside that are cast into the lake of fire, as we see in ( Revelation 21:8).

Dogs were not looked on as we look at them today, they were mostly wild cruel unclean filthy animals highly disliked, Jesus associated a woman of Canaan with dogs, but nothing unclean will enter the city. We have a choice, eternity with God and Jesus in beautiful new earth or the lake of fire.

    God bless,

    1. Acknowledgment your addiction to sex. Admitting the problem is the first step. But you need to acknowledge it with all your heart and make the choice to repent.

    2. Repent. Self-pity and remorse and self-loathing are not enough. You must repent--that is, be determined with all your heart to never do it again--if you have acted upon it or if it's just lustful thought, ask God to condition those thoughts out of your head. You can help yourself by rooting out media--music, books, films, etc. that have sex in them because seeing or hearing those things will trigger sexual lust. There are plenty of good clean books and movies to watch instead of R or X-rated media.

    3. I advise you to set up morning and evening devotions. Pray. Confess your sins and ask God to forgive you. Ask the Holy Spirit to give you focus on your devotions. Ask him to show you His ways and teach you His paths. Psalm 25:4.Thank Him and praise Him for all the good and the bad things, including answered and unanswered prayer. Add people who need prayer, include prayer for your lust addiction to be healed to a prayer list. Quote the Lord's Prayer Matthew 6:9-13

    4. Ask him to give you wisdom, strength, and determination to stand in the battle raging about you (temptation and troubles and such). Ask Him to help you use all the armor and weapons (His Word, rebuking the devil in His name) He has given you to their fullest extent. 2 Corinthians 10:3"For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)."

    5. When sexual temptation is upon you, rebuke the devil by saying, "In the name of Jesus Christ, get behind me, Satan!" And he will flee from you. James 4:7 "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."

    God bless you!

First and foremost: Are you a born-again believer in Christ?

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. But it's not enough to believe in your head. You must believe in your heart. Romans 10:9-10 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Confess your sins to Jesus Christ, repent, and believe in your heart that he has saved you. He will give you a new heart and a new life in Him. Ezekiel 36:26 "A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh."

If you are truly saved, God will help you overcome these things, but you must do your part, or as some say, "Pray and then put legs on your prayers."

We have all sinned and come short of the glory of God. We commit sins we do not even know about. We commit careless sins. And then there are the deliberate sins, including the ones you listed: Womanizing, lying, stealing. To wit, you are tempted to do each one; you know they are wrong, but you do them anyway. Being remorseful, praying, asking others to pray for you will not help you until you repent from committing these sins. When the devil comes whispering into your ears, rebuke him with "In Jesus's name, get behind me, Satan!" And he will flee. James 4:7 - Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

And remember, when you sin, whether its a careless sin or deliberate always ask Christ to forgive you, even ask Him to forgive the sins you aren't aware of committin

    God bless you!

    Hi.

    Part 1 of 2.

For our friends during their recovery we didn't depend on our own ability. We humbled ourselves and prayed and asked for prayer. We didn't demand anything or perform anything. WE PRAYED.

Now concerning Satan, There's several scripture that I keep in Mind.

    Here's just a few.

1 John 4:4. Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because GREATER IS HE THAT IS IN YOU, THAN HE THAT IS IN THE WORLD.

James 4:6-7. But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

Submit yourselves therefore to God. RESIST THE DEVIL, and he will flee from you.

I don't quarrel with Satan if I do I relieved myself of my Armor.

I don't mimic what Jesus did When he said

Matthew 4:10. Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

Jude 1:8-10. Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.

Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.

But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.

Jude 1:16-20. These are murmurers, complainers, WALKING AFTER THEIR OWN lusts; AND THEIR MOUTH SPEAKETH GREAT SWELLING WORDS, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage.

    But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;

How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.

Start my day off with it.But now I wake up and take the verse and put it on a app. Listening to the Holy Spirit on what to say. On line, at first I got this isn't the place for God's Word, but months later, people are saying thanks, amen, gotten JW, anti christ believer. But people our listening and growing in the word of God, Today's verse was James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Used submit to parents, Then I went to the prodigal son story, to the rich man and Lazarus, to putting on the whole armour of God. And lastly John 3:16. Other Bible verses Ephesians 4:27: Luke 8:11-12, I Peter 5:8, I John 3:8, Zechariah 1:3, Psalms 73: 28.

It's all about having someone come to the Lord Jesus Christ, and believing, trusting, and giving their life to him as their Savior. We both our God's servant, what a blessing!
