    Matthew 25:31-46, 2Kings 13:23, Jeremiah 12:15, Revelation 21,

    Genesis 45:4,5,7, 1Corinthians 4:5,

    Great: Job 40,-41, Psalms 147:5, Psalms 95:3, Jeremiah 10:6, Psalms 36:6, Psalms 50:6,

Jeremiah 20:1, Yeah, sad when someone of trusted positions act corrupt, cruel & evil, abusing their authority, especially in the house of The LORD our GOD! Proverbs 15:3, that's why GOD sent Jeremiah to prophecy to them. Jeremiah 1:4-19, Jeremiah 4:1-6, notice Jeremiah 20:1-6, Jeremiah 7,

    But then: Jeremiah 3:12, Jeremiah 12:15, Isaiah 51:11, Isaiah 35:10, Isaiah 44:22, Isaiah 55:7, John 3:15-21,

Even today we see hypocrisy but Jesus already knew, lived it & gave us direction : Matthew 23, Matthew 25:31-46,

    Hopefully these are helpful

Are you referring to what Daniel references in Daniel 9:2, if so: Daniel is speaking about Jeremiah's promise & Prophecy given by GOD to Israel about their return from captivity. Jeremiah 29:10

    Jeremiah 12:15, Jeremiah 16:15, Jeremiah 24:5,6, Jeremiah 30,

Hopefully these are helpful in trying to answer your question. If you're searching something else, ask & hopefully we/I can help you

It helps if you'll go on Google, type in the scripture, and then type COMMENTARY.

BibleHub will have several commentaries. I like that one. It's alot of reading sometimes but you will definitely understand that passage when done.

Remember there is a special blessing on us (from the Lord) every time we read the Book of Revelation, chapter 1:3

    Jeremiah 12,

I understand Jeremiah easier when I've read the whole book.

Jeremiah 1:1-3, Jeremiah had been called by GOD while young, Jeremiah 1:6, to speak very difficult words of Judgement, Jeremiah 1:8-10, in opposition to other "prophetic" voices telling them lies. Jeremiah 5:31,

In Jeremiah 11:19-21 they plotted to kill him.

This seems like to us & most likely to Jeremiah much time in human perspective had passed & GOD had said in Jeremiah 1:12, He would hasten HIS Word to perform it. GOD had promised judgement, yet by Chapter 12, Jeremiah seems frustrated because of the evil. Jeremiah 5:3-4, asks them to repent: Jeremiah 7:5-11,, Jeremiah 3:22 even looks like they repented in Jeremiah 3:22-25,

    Jeremiah 5:1,2,

Jeremiah 12:4, the land had been troubled since Jeremiah 2,

Several Prophets suffered much from the people they were sent to. Matthew 23,

    Hopefully this is helpful.

    David,

Thanks for such a good reminder of Whom we serve! Even if the mountains fall and the seas rage, God is in control, always. He is sovereign! Nothing gets by Him. He is infinitely able to fulfill all of His promises to us and all prophetic events. We can trust Him in life or death. In peace or war. In joy or sorrow. In uncertainty or stability. In plenty or want. In danger or safety. And so on and so on.

We can rest in knowing that what He has in store for us in eternity is so much more than we can ask or think. We will be so amazed and overcome! What a hope we have in our God!

Our Lord God is righteous in all His ways. Many times we cannot see or understand the depths of His wisdom in His actions. When this happens, we must trust in the first principles we learned at His feet. There is a parallel here as in Psalms 73. The wicked seemed to be blessed beyond anything we can imagine. It made Asaph, the writer upset that the wicked and foolish looked to be blessed and prosperous in every thing they did. Until he went in to the sanctuary of the Lord and then he understood their end. It is our responsibility to proclaim the gospel and declare the love of the Lord Jesus Christ and the availability of the Gospel for all. We know the end.

God bless everyone on this forum. The Lord shine His face on all and bless your walk with Him. February 22, 2022

A clear indication here that his name has been changed early on to the point of all historical records bearing his name may have even been that name they were using incorrectly and then covered over again with generic terms as god and lord, even baal its self means lord. Liveth, coming after the name signifies he is reiterating what he told moses when he told him to tell the israelites I am that I am therefore tell them I AM has sent you. In specific unto whom he made himself known even having a name is it not disrespectful to call your dad by his first name even so the Son acknowledges His Father as living Father and came in His Fathers name saying many things declaring I am the living bread that cometh down from heaven. To address him otherwise would mean you are in opposition to life inquiring like a business proposal instead of inheriting the love that a Father has for his Son and a Son who heeds his Father's words to honor and return the same love he is loved with.

Absolutely God does know the heart this is why is wrote... Jeremiah 17:9 - The heart is deceitful above all things , and desperately wicked: who can know it? Also Proverbs 28:26 He that trusteth in his own heart is a FOOL: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.

Stand fast in him. In Him. dont be moved. We are like the lion in the midst of a forest and are making his way straight. walk in the light ,as he is in the light. And we will abide according to his grace. Heaven and earth are his, he has conquered sin and death.Take His body and blood and Commune with him this season.

God's word is true! The whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. The corruption of sin has totally permeated the entire world. Only God is able to restore this fallen sinful world, so we must pray like Jeremiah for the Lord to intercede.

If Jeremiah was not able to handle the smaller trials in his life, he will not be able to handle the bigger trials for the simple reason. Things starts small and then they grow big. If he was not able to handle the small trials he would struggle in doing the bigger ones. He would need to trust in God to help him deal with the bigger and smaller trials.
  • A disciple on Jeremiah 12 - 7 years ago
BSP; I don't think Jeremiah was "complaining about smaller trials;" for from the whole tone of the chapter, he is evidently in deep spiritual discussion and prayer with the Lord about the evil condition of the people, and why the wicked are allowed so much room. Remember how God came to talk with Abraham about what was happening in Sodom? The Lord looks for like-minded friends to talk with.
  • BSP on Jeremiah 12 - 7 years ago
Verse 5: Jeremiah was complaining about the smaller trials he was facing, but he was going to go through even bigger trials. If he could not deal with his smaller trials, how would he be able to deal with the bigger trials?

12:10 Many pastors today are sugar coating the word. I have church in my home with up to 4 people. We go from 10:00 am til 4:00 - 6:00. It seems that many churches today are more about rituals than spreading the word of God. This is a warning to these pastors.

Jesus said "come out of her" the church/government/worldly ways. Jesus said "the wolves (scribes pharisees. rabbis) were creeping into the church. Jesus said " You can not go to the father except thru himself". Jesus did NOT say to go back to these things. The whole purpose of this is because for those who accept
Jesus and follow the commandments of God and do not worship baal will have eternal

Jeremiah 2:8 The priests said not, Where is the LORD? and they that handle the law knew me not: the pastors also transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit. Jeremiah 12:10 Many pastors have destroyed my vineyard, they have trodden my portion under foot, they have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness. Jeremiah 23:1 Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the LORD. John 10:8 All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. Jeremiah 7:11 Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen it, saith the LORD.

" to swear by my name, The LORD liveth" Dont we always swear by Jesus name? Swearing here is more of taking an oath to God and His name being the most powerful of all, by what else would you swear an oath by to God? In His name, of course.

  • Insight 777 on Jeremiah 12 - 10 years ago
Verse 16, I think it is important to understand the context in which the word swear is used. There are different meanings to the word swear. Swear is not always the use of offensive language. When one promises to do something they are swearing to do it. However, even when one promises to do something does not mean that they actually can do it because of circumstances beyond their control. This verse is in the context of changing ones beliefs with understanding that yes, the Lord does live. The Lord is unveiling his strength and Bible scripture is being fulfilled. People that do not believe in Jesus are seeing the Bibles truth being revealed exactly as it was written. Jesus is saying understand this and then accept Jesus as Lord. The word swear is not the use of man swearing that he can accomplish something by his own will, strength or merit which are statements as Jesus referred to in Mt.5.34, but instead is a proclamation of the reality that the Lord is ALIVE, he lives and he is in control! Jesus states that man can accomplish nothing on his own that is not the will of God. This swear in verse 16 is pledging acceptance, allegiance and love for the Lord. These people are converts to the truth and leave their false beliefs that the Lord does not live, behind them. If they refuse to love with understanding and continue to hate then they will be destroyed as stated in verse 17.
  • Melanie on Jeremiah 12:16 - 10 years ago
I thought we were not supposed to swear at all by heaven or earth according to Christ in the New Testament. Now what made the change from Old ways to the New ways? SO, I wonder am I taking "swear " out of context in my mind. "As the Lord YHWH lives " sounds like something the Father or His Son, Jesus, would like the sound of but so many people with too much time on their hands for them, it was "As the World turns " and so, I say, "Be not of this world, nor of its patterns, but come out of it and be separate. " AND in HIM there is no shadow of turning. As surely as YHWH lives, He convicted me about wasting my time on American soap opera T.V. if only I could be a linen sash around His waist.
