Discuss Jeremiah 13

    Hi Jema, thank you.

This is just my opinion; when Adam and Eve ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil the knowledge of imagination entered, and we see how imagination of thoughts became the desires of the flesh. Imagination makes it possible to experience a whole world inside the mind. One can imagine a sound, taste, smell, physical sensation, feeling, emotion. Fantasy becomes reality in our mind.

We see in scripture its effects Genesis 6:5 Proverbs 6:18 Jeremiah 13:10 it battles against our conscience, and it suckers us into the belief it is a secret in our minds, it's ok because no one knows. But as David told Solomon God knows the hearts of all, 1 Chronicles 28:9.

Technology is good and beneficial to man but in our imagination, it is intoxicating and addictive, it can create a world with no limits and Satan uses it for his evil and it may be a key to the seduction of the beast and false prophet who are coming. Deceived has a scary and deceptive description, to be taken out of the way, the sad thing someone may not even know it. Galatians 6:7-10

It is like the poem the spider to the fly. "Will you walk into my parlour said the spider to the fly; Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy". A temptation that looks innocent, but death lurks hidden inside.

    God bless,

Brother Adam, If man has FREEWILL, why does man ALWAYS chose EVIL, why wouldn't at least a FEW men choose to never sin. If they have FREEWILL.

But, that would make this scripture a LIE:

Philippians 2:13 For it is God that WORKETH IN YOU both TO WILL and TO DO ....

Jeremiah 13:23 Can the Ethiopian change his skin (No), can a leopard change his spots? (No) then may you also do good, (No) that are accustomed TO DO evil.

Romans 8:20 For the creature itself was made SUBJECT TO VANITY, not willingly ....

    Jeremiah 13:23

"Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil."

There is fantasy and fiction then there is The Truth. Then there's having the spiritual eye to tell the difference.

    Part 3

    Ezekiel 38:14-17

The sixth trumpet Invasion of Judah (house):

vs 14 Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say unto Gog, Thus saith the Lord GOD; In that day when my people of Israel dwelleth safely, shalt thou not know it?

vs 15 And thou shalt come from thy place out of the north parts, thou, and many people with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army:

    ( Jeremiah 15:1-3) ( 1 Thessalonians 5:2)

( Jeremiah 13:19) The cities of the south shall be shut up, and none shall open them: Judah shall be carried away captive all of it, it shall be wholly carried away captive.

( Deuteronomy 28:48-50) vs 49 The LORD shall bring a nation against thee from far, from the end of the earth, A nation of fierce countenance, ( Daniel 8:23-25)

vs 16 And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel (Judah), as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes.

This is the 2nd "cloud to cover the land" The attack is on both houses of Israel, and 3 nations from Gog's confederacy.

( Ezekiel 21:19) Also, thou son of man, appoint thee two ways (two clouds), that the sword....may come: both twain shall come forth out of one land....

vs 17 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Art thou he of whom I have spoken in old time by my servants the prophets of Israel, which prophesied in those days many years that I would bring thee against them?

( Luke 21:20-24) And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh...and shall be led away captive into all nations....( Ezekiel 21:31)

This could be a defeating verse and line....obviously,people and animals can t can t change themselves without really messing up the rest of their genetics, so in that parallel the answer would be NO. Must be read in context.Except If manuscripts truly render verbiage as can be changed the answer is Yes....but only by the Almighty, through Christ Jesus, in both physical and spiritual changes.

Verse 11 stabs my conscience. God 's love and mercy draw me to Him but I often do not listen or take heed.

The whole chapter on Israel 's disobedience and curse. It happened before, and still continues up to the present. Easy to conclude the consequence from God 's word.

I do not see Matthew saying such. It is all comparison. Read again.

They have done evil continually and habitually that being accustomed to it, can hardly turn back from such. That is why, flee from all evil before it becomes a habit.

What does Matthew Henry mean by saying that the Almighty is able to chnge the Ethipian Skin?? Is Mr Henry advocating that black skin is the result of sin? Were the Jews white people? God used the anologyof the Ethiopian's sking to illustrate that there are many among us who will never change unless they are forced to by God's Judgeent; and then they are just reformers who will go back to doing the same thing after the punishment wears off. They will never truly repent! Skin colour My Henry has nothing to do with sin!!

God is warning His people through Jermiah by letting them know this is what they will be like; this linen girdle as any other soft garment comes apart after being in water for along time. GOD loves them so much and he knows how He is ging to punish themif they don't turn back from whoring after other gods (false gods). He knows that the country he plans to punish them is the babyloian kingdom one of the the most ruthless and unmoral kingdom on earth, however they still listen to false prophets, kings and priests that don't believe Jeremiah. God always warns us and He love the Isralites they are and still is the apple of His eye.
