Discuss Jeremiah 50

    Dear Friends

Babylon the Great Desribed is present day Christinity,

it doesn't take away one sins, meaning one continue in it for life, turning the Grace of God into lasciviousness

it doesn't comform one to the image of His Son, the Divine Nature, having escape the corruption of this world through lust

& it leaves one, one with the world, in the lust of the flesh, eyes & the pride of life of this world.

it feed one from the knowledge of the tree of good and evil, the wisdom that from below, for instance Jesse teaching & not from the Fountain of the Spirit that comes from the Tree of Life, the Lord God from heaven, who is the Life, Spirit & Substance of all things

    Jeremiah 50:11-16

    Revelation 18:4-8

    Hi Thirsty4Wisdom.

I agree with what you stated.

"Do I need to get baptized along with trusting in Jesus to be saved?

Yes, by the Holy Spirit, not by water:"

Let's look upon another quote of yours concerning those who which the law was given. "Israel."

In Matthew 15:24 Jesus said "I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel".

This was not an outright rejection of the Gentiles.

"Moments later, He heals the woman's daughter" but this was a fulfillment of prophecy, a setting of priorities, and a test of the woman's faith.

In Jeremiah 50:6, God calls Israel His people and "lost sheep."

The Messiah, spoken of throughout the Old Testament, was seen as the one who would gather these "lost sheep"

    Ezekiel 34:23-24 Micah 5:4-5.

When Jesus presented Himself as a shepherd to Israel, He was claiming to be the fulfillment of Messianic prophecy

    Mark 6:34, 14:27. John 10:11-16.

He is simply connecting His presence with God's purpose in Old Testament history. Christ was "born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law"

    Galatians 4:4-5.

John the baptist was his forerunner who came in the office of Elisha to prepare the way. Malachi 4:4-6.

This was the baptism of John.

Acts 19:4. "This baptism was only for Israel." John was preparing the way!

Christ has not yet given charge to his disciples to go out to the ends of the earth to "IDENTIFY/BAPTIZE" the Gentiles with the gathered sheep of Israel.

In-fact he didn't send them until AFTER he died on the cross and rose from the dead to atone for the sins of the whole world.

All the offerings and ordinances was a foreshadow of things to come.

    Colossians 2:13-17.

    Hebrews 10:1-10.

    God bless and

    Goodnight.

The woman in the allegory is giving birth to Christ, the second coming, and the serpent (satan) wants to kill her.

The woman represents the saints, who are protected for 42 months from death, and are ushering in Christ, getting past anti-christ's 42 month reign. This is what will happen in real life, anti-christ will kill saints. Can you make the real life connection from the cartoon?

These prophetic writings are allegory = a symbolic fictional narrative that conveys a meaning not explicitly set forth in the narrative. You have to know what the Bible says will happen in real life before using allegory and understand it.

Who would recognize an allegory from the real thing? Did you notice 9-11-01 was Revelation 9:1-11, the fifth trumpet? Verse 4: America killed those men who did not have the seal of God in their foreheads (Muslims), and were told not to harm any green tree, and nothing green grows in the desert. Verse 6: The Muslims who were tortured at Abu Ghraib prison were seeking death, and couldn't find it.

In the second half of Revelation 9, a new more powerful army arrives to defeat the previous US army. Images of the beat vs Babylon should come to mind. Imagine being the king of Mystery Babylon, taking his the last call, Jeremiah 50:43.

The end-times have an order, it's not a guessing game when the prophets gave us a map to find the order.

Hi Barb, I don't think it must be one or the other.

The Bible is full of metaphors to explain things like our relationship to God. I see T. Levis shared scriptures for "sons", so I'll share different ones:

    Be like children:

    Matthew 18:3

    Romans 8:17

    Galatians 4:6

    Be people and sheep:

    Psalms 100:3

    John 10:11

    Jeremiah 50:6

    We're clay:

    Isaiah 64:8

    We're branches:

    John 15:5

    We're salt:

    Matthew 5:13

    I'm sure there's more.

    Hey Jesse,

Good information: truth shines from the word of God. As you said the leaders of Jerusalem should have known. I believe they did know, in Matthew 2:3-6, that Jerusalem (chief priests and scribes) was also troubled. They knew the time, but God did to them what He did to Pharoah, He blinded and hardened their hearts, John 12:40. To me this kind of ties into the things S Spencer has been sharing.

There are other scriptures they were probably aware of, like Jeremiah 50:6 and Ezekiel 34 where God told Ezekiel to prophesy against the shepherds, (the leaders) and what God would do, Ezekiel 34:10.

So, they were troubled to hear Jesus was born. They did not even send anyone to Bethlehem to see. You would think they would have been jumping for joy, but they did not want to give up the power, wealth, and Moses's seat they had. Jesus the true Shepherd John 10:11 first came only for the lost sheep of Israel, Matthew 15:24, fulfilling and confirming the covenant Hebrews 13:20. Jesus also told the scribes and the Pharisees their house is left to them desolate, and He will return Matthew 23:36-39.

Their duty as shepherds was over in that generation, 70 AD, and the sheep shall be gathered again, Isaiah 11:12 Ezekiel 37:21-22 Jeremiah 23:3 and more.

    God bless,

    Jeremiah 50:41-46

"Behold! An army is coming from the north; a great nation and many kings are being stirred up from the ends of the earth. They are armed with bows and spears; they are cruel and without mercy. They sound like the roaring sea as they ride on their horses; they come like men in battle formation to attack you, Daughter Babylon.

The king of Babylon has heard reports about them, and his hands hang limp. Anguish has gripped him, pain like that of a woman in labor.

Like a lion coming up from Jordan's thickets to a rich pastureland, I will chase Babylon from its land in an instant. Who is the chosen one I will appoint for this? Who is like me and who can challenge me? And what shepherd can stand against me?"

Therefore, hear what the Lord has planned against Babylon, what he has purposed against the land of the Babylonians: The young of the flock will be dragged away; their pasture will be appalled at their fate.

At the sound of Babylon's capture the earth will tremble; its cry will resound among the nations."

    Ronald,

It's the last week of the 70th week.

Jesus had 3.5 year ministry on earth, then

Gog gets 3.5 years end-time power as anti-christ.

There is no 3.5 years of peace, that's not possible. You've been getting that all along with the worldwide fanfare Putin receives. He saved civilization by defeating US backed ISIS in Syria in 2015. No one can touch Putin, he knows everything he needs to know, and never falters. He's peaceful by saving his strength for when he needs it. Gog surprises everyone at the falling away reveal 2 Thessalonians 2:3; that describes anti-christ sending nuclear missiles, while his counterpart, the US president, is left speechless Jeremiah 50:43

The 5th trumpet army, Revelation 9:1-11: for 21 years, Mystery Babylon US invaded Iraq, destroyed Syria, Libya and killed millions of Muslims, (not Christians), because Muslims don't have the seal of God in their foreheads. It is allegory for what happened during the ended war on terror. In a prophetic time line, we are right here ( Ezekiel 21:7) with not much time left, but 2 seals.

The 6th trumpet army vs 13-21, Gog, crushes the previous 5th trumpet army. This is how Babylon falls. It describes the day of the Lord.

The king of the north defeats the king of the south ( Daniel 11:40) Also, like above, describing the same thing as above, and many more.

If we are in the end-time, and fearing war the big one (6th trumpet), wouldn't we have seen the 5th trumpet by now, or did 9-11-01 pass without notice?

The United States of America fits every description of Jeremiah Chapters 50 and Chapter 51. Also Revelation Chapter 18, and Isaiah Chapter 47. Instructions for Gods people is to flee out of her to not receive of her plagues or destruction. Jeremiah 51:45 and Revelation 18:4-5. Ancient Babylon was surrounded by the desert in Iraq. Modern Babylon, The United States of America is surrounded by waters. Jeremiah 51:13, Revelation 18:17-19 trades by the sea. Time to pray for the people of America and that your steps are ordered by the Lord. For the time is short! Pray also that America does not betray Israel anytime soon or this will happen sooner and not later. One last thing, Modern Babylon, America has a mother, England or the U.K. Jeremiah 50:12.

Eric, the sins of Babylon were many making them worthy to fall under God's Hand of punishment. You can check out the following:

Jeremiah 50:2 (sin of idolatry. Bel & Merodach were their chief idols. Bel = Baal, of the Canaanites & others).

Jeremiah 50:11 (sin of being destroyers, or plunderers of God's heritage, Israel).

Jeremiah 50:31,32 (sin of arrogance & pride).

Jeremiah 50:38 & 51:7 (sin of rampant idolatry & seducing the nations into such worship).

Jeremiah 51:51 (sin of defiling God's Temple).

The lost sheep of Israel ( Jeremiah 50:6)

Jesus came to fulfill the law, the first covenant, flesh had to live a sinless life under the law of Moses given by God before it was considered an executed contract (fulfilled). The prophets, all prophecy pointing to the coming of their Messiah had to be fulfilled. These two things had to be completed before God could make a new covenant. The first covenant was made with the house of Israel and the second was offered to the house of Israel first but they rejected Jesus as their Messiah.

We see in ( Matthew 10:5-8) that Jesus told the twelve, to go only to the house of Israel and not to go by the way of Gentiles. God even told them when the Messiah would come, ( Daniel 9:25) and in ( Ezekiel 34:23-24) they were told a Shepard was coming. but they did not want to give up their authority and wealth they were enjoying, meaning the Sadducees and Pharisees.

Even when Jesus was born, they heard that it was in Bethlehem they were troubled ( Matthew 2:3) they did not even want to go see if it was their King/Messiah. We see in Acts when they totally said they reject Jesus and the new covenant, when they killed Stephen.

Acts 7:57 Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord,

The Apostles continued to confirm the new covenant to the house of Israel until Peter had his dream and Paul was converted and what God told Abraham came to be, and the mystery was revealed and confirming to the house of Israel stopped. The branch was broken off so we may be grafted in.

Genesis 18:18 Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?

Colossians 1:27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

Do you know the wisdom of ( Jeremiah 50) & ( Jeremiah 51)?

    It has a relationship with ( Revelation 17) & ( Revelation 18)

Mystery Babylon is the new Rome with a powerful army.

( Daniel 8) is a multidimensional prophetic chapter detailing the enduring spirit of anti-christ. One of Alexander the Great's Generals, Antiochus IV Epiphanes, in 167 BC, attacked Judah, desecrated the Temple and set up the abomination that makes desolate. This attack will happen again, updated in our time, in America, when the real Christian country (Orthodox) removes the false Christian country (M.Babylon) in a flash. God holds the right hand of Russia (Vladimir Putin); his weapons of indignation will baptize the transgressors with fire. It is knocking, but most won't know where it's coming from.

    Ezekiel 38:18-23

The Lord Jesus Christ standing on Mount Olive:

    The seventh trumpet sounds:

( Revelation 16:15) Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame. [Jesus comes as a thief at both sixth & seventh trumpets]

vs 18 And it shall come to pass at the same time when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord GOD, that my fury shall come up in my face

    vs 19 For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel;

( Revelation 11:15) And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. ( Revelation 16:17) ( John 19:30)

( Ezekiel 37:1-14) Resurrection: ...vs 10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army. vs 11 ...these bones are the whole house of Israel. vs 14 And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live,..

( Matthew 24:30) And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

    ( Revelation 1:7)

    ( Revelation 19:11-16)

    ( Revelation 19:19-20)

vs 20 ...Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. ( Zechariah 14:1-4) ....Then shall the LORD go forth...And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives...

    ( Zechariah 14:12)

    God removes the 'northern army':

    ( Joel 2:20-21)

    ( Daniel 11:40)

    ( Jeremiah 6:22-23)

    ( Jeremiah 50:3)

    ( Jeremiah 50:41)

vs 23 Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the LORD.

Rome was the empire of the day, everything revolved around it. The Catholic church is ensconced with satan, the Jesuits (Jewish Christians) push Gematria and witchcraft. Past empires are interchangeable with current empires. The Bible will not explicitly tell you this, you have to think for yourself. It is no different than when Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Persia and Greeks held the same title. That is how prophesy flows. In our day, it is America that holds this title. We see in Rev 17 only that a new character has emerged, called Mystery Babylon, a new mighty end-time empire, a geopolitical and military superpower that rules the world. Outside it's America. Read Jeremiah 50 and 51 (like US states) as they both describe America to a T. Who else fits Mystery Babylon's description? Who is the beast from description?

-Mystery Babylon is America that gets destroyed.

-Babylon proper consists of America's allies, to include Israel that gets destroyed in the same hour.

Study the day of the Lord to see that "God's army", Joel 2:11, the northern army (Russia+) that obliterates the southern army ( Dan 11:40) to rule the world. Anti-christ sets up in the temple claiming to be God, unhindered. Where is America post 6th trumpet, and why is the beast the only empire around? The earth doesn't get knocked of its axis battling the RCC, an evil spirit. The whore America is no where to be found, hell has come to greet it at its departure.

America wants to sit a queen forever ( Isaiah 47) against Jesus, and the prophets. This Mystery Babylon, who's king (does Rome have a king?) hath heard the report of them (missiles), and his hands waxed feeble: anguish took hold of him, and pangs as of a woman in travail, Jeremiah 50:43 Reap it America.

There are at least 90 scriptures concerning the day of the Lord strike. They tell the story far better better than I can. Many people are bias because they love America, up until the flame comes.

As with many of these epistles, the authors were wanting to impart both teaching & warning about intruders into the Church. Paul's letter to the believers in Galatia (whether to the Churches in the north or south of Galatia can't be ascertained) also came as both a warning & teaching.

The Church there had false teachers among them (1:6-9). They were teaching that Paul's teaching was false & that he wasn't a genuine apostle of Christ (Paul gave a defence of this in 1:11-24). So their teaching, as with Judaizers, brought in a merit-based salvation, i.e. that there needed to be a strict obedience to Mosaic Law as well as faith in Jesus. Paul's answer to them, as it is to us now, that salvation in Christ can only be by God's Grace through faith in Jesus' death & resurrection, chapters 3-5.

So Paul preached that we are justified only by faith in Christ plus absolutely nothing else. If anything is added to faith, then faith ceases & it becomes works (making justification by human effort or contribution or even cleaving to the old Law which failed). Paul even had to rebuke the Apostle Peter (2:11-21) who suddenly stopped eating with the 'uncircumcised Gentile believers' when pressured to do so by some Hebrew Christians. This was hypocrisy that Paul took Peter to task over as Peter & others weren't practising the Truth when they also identified with Jewish requirements.

This Book, along with Romans, gives much theological teaching on this matter of Law & Grace though Faith & they form much of what we know & teach, so that others in the Church may know how important it is to separate the two (only because of Christ's death).

I feel that I've misunderstood your first question, but I do recall a sickness that is associated with uncontrolled laughter. I had to look it up, & its called 'Pseudobulbar', which is a nervous disorder that brings on this effect or may even cause uncontrolled crying or anger. So medical (psychological) help is certainly required as it would be a problem to both self & others.

Both extremes of negativity & positivity demonstrate an imbalance in one's perceptions. Personally speaking & after self-examination, I am one who would be categorized as leaning towards negativity. Being introspective & testing myself under various situations that bring on this effect, I find that this arises when I have critically examined a matter & come to a conclusion that the result of it could lead to more distress or loss, rather than a positive outcome. Therefore, based on that, a decision is made. Am I always correct in my response? No. I then learn where I went wrong in my calculations & hopefully learn from them.

Then again, if someone is continually a 'negative' person, whether as part of his personality or as a result of being subjected to situations that has caused him to be so, then again, help is needed to educate & restore that person to a correct, balanced view of people & situations. However, when we see those who are overflowing with positivity and when things don't work out for them, the fall is great & sometimes devastating. In that case, the 'negative' person seems to cope much better in adverse conditions. Just my thoughts from my own experiences & observances.

The Hebrew word for 'hindermost' is acharith and here seems to mean 'last' but hindermost is a good translation. Some of the translations use 'least' but this is misleading because Babylon will be entirely destroyed according to Jeremiah 50,51 and never be a nation again. So 'least' would suggests continuance. Babylon is the last of the nations to come up. She is called the daughter of Babylon in Jer. 50:42; 51:33,35. The last of the nations will become a wilderness, a dry land and a desert. Many believe since America has come up last, she is this daughter of Babylon. This I also believe. The wildfires in America are from drought, suggesting she is already becoming a desert.

I've read in a book on Prophesies ( they're out there. Buy one)

That America/United States is called in prophesy: Islands in the Sea. That's because the continents are surrounded by water. Also, Britain, Scotland, Australia and others.

    Here are the scriptures:

    Isaiah 11:11

And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.

    Isaiah 13:22

And the wild beasts of the islands shall cry in their desolate houses, and dragons in their pleasant palaces: and her time is near to come, and her days shall not be prolonged.

    Isaiah 41:1

Keep silence before me, O islands; and let the people renew their strength: let them come near; then let them speak: let us come near together to judgment.

    Isaiah 42:12

Let them give glory unto the LORD, and declare his praise in the islands.

    Isaiah 42:15

I will make waste mountains and hills, and dry up all their herbs; and I will make the rivers islands, and I will dry up the pools.

    Isaiah 59:18

According to their deeds, accordingly he will repay, fury to his adversaries, recompence to his enemies; to the islands he will repay recompence.

    Jeremiah 50:39

Therefore the wild beasts of the desert with the wild beasts of the islands shall dwell there, and the owls shall dwell therein: and it shall be no more inhabited for ever; neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation.

America is not without sin. Plenty of people describe it as the new whore of Babylon.

Have we not seen people who murder, shoot up synagogues, set them on fire: rain hatred on them sunup to past midnight?

How many churched people have come in here recently, saying, despite going to church regular, they barely know anything about scripture or prophesy? Quite a bit.

Indeed Babylon of old is a total desolation after being one of the ancient wonders of the world. In the book of Daniel chapter 4 we see how Nebuchadnezzar himself confessed that

God is he who puts up kings and takes them down. He himself bears witness to how God humbled him He praised and extoled and honored the King of heaven. He gave witness that the Lord is able to abase the proud.

His grandson forgot all that and when he became king og Babylon, blasphemed and exhalted himself above the God of Israel. So the destruction of Babylon that

is prophesied by Jeremiah in chapter 50 of his book came in one night. (see that account in Daniel, chapter 5.)

God uses animals and symbols for a reason. Read all lions together and search for a man with the symbols. When he the lion roars! 2 Kings 17:25 And so it was at the beginning of their dwelling there, that they feared not the LORD: therefore the LORD sent lions among them, which slew some of them. - daughter of Babylon!
