    Bill,

In Job 23:12, it says "Neither have I gone back from the commandment of His lips, I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food."

What really is necessary, Spiritual food, or physical food? We eat three times a day or more, plus dessert. How often do we eat spiritually and feed the soul? Very interesting!

In John 4:32, after the disciples brought physical food to Jesus, they said to Him, "Master, eat." Jesus answers and says, " I have meat to eat that ye know not of.

I don't know if you have ever experienced this before, where you are physically hungry, you are physically tired, but then in some way, shape, or form, God ministers through you to someone else, or from someone else to you, and whatever physical hunger you have or physical thirst you have, it doesn't make any difference! You forget about the physical hunger and you are no longer hungry.

The spiritual food is contentment in and of itself. You are not as hungry as you used to be or as starved as you used to be. Now what is interesting here is that remember the woman left her water pot behind.

Jesus said you just brought physical food from the city, but I have food to eat that you know not of. He ministered God's word to this woman.

I am 63 now, never married, and had a girl friend for 1 month total in my lifetime. My mom disowned me two times in my lifetime and kicked me out of her house when she realized that she no longer needed me. And through it all, it has been my faith, my love, my trust and my personal relationship with Jesus that has sustained me all of these years. The Lord has said. never will I leave you and never will I forget you and He has said. My grace is sufficient for thee. And it is written. Draw closer to God in prayer and in the study of God's word and the devil will flee. it is Satan who uses the footholds that we given him against us. It is Satan who temps, teases and mocks us. Draw closer to God in prayer and in the study of God's word and the devil will flee. It is God who will sustain you as he has me if you give him a chance and trust in Him alone. never cease praying and the prayers of a righteous man avalieth much. God has also said never will I leave you and never will I forget you. And satan cannot snatch us from my Fathers hand. And submit all of your prayer requests unto the Lord. Remember Jesus has already gotten the victory or death, Satan and Satan knows that. which got me to thinking about what happened to Job. Job 1:1-22. Job did not blame God because it was Satan, not God who did all of these terrible things to him and His family. My Prayer is that you realize that you are not alone in your suffering and pain and that we all are assailed by evils and that no matter what happens in life you are Love by God, me, and others. Sincerely Yours, Pete Herrera

    Hey Tony,

If I may, what people call demons are devils, unclean spirits, principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this world, and spiritual wickedness in high places, some spirits with no physical bodies, some angels that have bodies that cannot possess humans but can control. Evil spirits are on this earth that can influence and also possess humans.

We see while Jesus was here the first time, He cast them out of many people, also he gave power for the disciples to do the same Matthew 10:1. We also see Paul doing the same, one in Acts 16:18. They are still on this earth, many do not believe they're real but believe me they are real.

The bible is not clear how or why these beings are on the earth. There are writings outside of the bible that talk about these but how true are they. The sons of God you speak of are angels, not unembodied spirits. Job 1:6 Job 2:1 and Job 38:7. We know some angels left their first estate and sinned that are locked in chains of darkness until judgment. 2 Peter 2:4 Jude 1:6.

These angels are not the devils or spirits that are roaming this earth, they are locked in the bottomless pit. We see they have a king in Revelation 9 whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon. Strange is his name has the same meaning as the son of perdition, that means destruction/destroyer.

Through scripture, it says angels can take on human form, they ate and drank and even wrestled with Jacob. We are even warned when entertaining strangers they may be an angel. The sons of God you speak of in Genesis are those angels who left their first estate and mated with human women that produced the giants (Nephilim and Rephaim or Rephaites) The name of these people means "terrible ones", they were before the flood and after Genesis 6:4 tells us they were then and after the flood and when the sons of God mated with women it produced giants.

    God bless,

    Beloved child,

When this happens to me, I know the Shepherd is calling me to Psalm 23.

It's important to remember Job 1: satan sneaks around to find what we fear, or if we have all our armor on? There is now no condemnation.

Time to go to the pasture. You might just sit outside and look at the clouds in the sky like me, and whisper "even so, Come Lord Jesus.

Lord Jesus bless me with a fresh anointing as written in Luke 4:18.

I went to this church in Tulsa for 3 years and was sent home to care for my Dad until he died. Me and friend sat behind Carman every Sunday. :D

The Pastor in that video became Apostate. I was heartbroken. A year ago, Carman died. I refuse to stop praying for Carlton Pearson. The Holy Spirit showed me how it happened. I've never spoken of it.

Rest a little. Watch some Carman songs on youtube: I got the joy (pick the one showing the choir). Church was fun and I learned lots! Watch "resurrection rap" and some of his hymn songs.

Hello James Carlson, that's powerful. People suffer much from lies & much from believing lies. Your comment, speaks deeper into devastating "news" heard, effects from it. With wisdom you were shown this, insightful. I think it was a revelation to you personally & others that have been devastated by lies. The toll it can take on a person. However I agree with Chris, I think I would go further to say I think many loving parents would immediately run to their children to make sure the news was correct, to care for them even in death, cover them & give a proper burial, ect. Job was beyond average as a Parent in that: Job 1:5. He was very concerned for them to be right with GOD, that he would make sacrifice on their behalf. Like Earl, Gi Gi, mentioned, pointing to GOD's bigger picture of GOD's atonement for us through Jesus. That's probably why Job is sometimes called prophetic book. Interesting I hadn't seen that beforehand. Gi Gi, & Sacha have the most perfect point that it is most significant whoes report we believe, in that GOD says nothing shall harm you by any means. Luke 10:19. Knowing all things will work together for good._.._ Romans 8:28-29, Even in disaster & disastrous moments when we believe GOD, HIS WORD, HIS report we will be much better off in every way. Hebrews 12:26-29, we should not be as; Luke 21:26

Didn't read all comments, hopefully this is encouraging. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts & intellectual insight.

James What I gather or understand from Job is an example of the goodness of God and steal kill and destroy satan's only purpose also God wasn't being tried or tempted [ James 1:13 God can't be tempted neither tempt he any man ].

The word says in Job 3:25 for the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me and that which I was afraid of is come unto me. In job 1:4+5 jobs children were feasting with each other all the time and job believed they were doing wrong to he point they were cursing God in their harts thus did jobcontinuously. His fear was so great from constantly believing that His children were doing wrong that it opened the door for the adversary to move. Fear is the exact opposite of believing because it putsus in a state of mental paralyses.

Re. Numbers 21:6 = And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.

Of great interest, even though the term "fiery" reads like an adjective in the English, it actually translates from the Hebrew noun saraph (Eng. transliteration; pronounced "saw-RAWF").

The same Hebrew word translated here into "fiery" also translates into the word "seraphims" twice in Isaiah (note: the modern proper spelling of this plural noun is "seraphim").

In Isaiah, the term "seraphim" identifies a certain class of angelic entities of whom Prophet Isaiah witnessed as recorded in Isaiah Chapter Six. Other than having "six wings " ( Isa. 6:2), Isaiah provided no additional information regarding their personal appearance.

If Isaiah witnessed the holy seraphim honoring and praising JEHOVAH GOD, Bible students must also conclude a certain number of seraphim followed Satan in his rebellion and fall.

The very Hebrew word "saraph" literally means "the burning ones". If these angelic seraphim have a visual appearance of fire (cp. 2Ki. 6:17), then these "fiery serpents" may have been demonic in nature. It is not considered a stretch to wonder if GOD gave seraph demons permission to punitively torment the Israelites much like HE gave Satan permission to test Job ( Job 1:12; 2:6).

If this scenario were true, then the term "fiery" may describe their visual nature and appearance rather than the painful intensity of their bite.

Since GOD's Word contains no coincidences, and HIS Word communicates HIS earthly and Heavenly Designs, Purposes, and Will, then Bible students, expounders, hermeneutics, and commentarians simply cannot overlook and ignore the terminology of the word "fiery" in this context. It certainly demands deep examination and exploration while avoiding being overly dogmatic.

The bite of these "fiery serpents" typifies "the fiery darts of the wicked" ( Eph. 6:16).

    JOHN 3

5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

    15

That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

    16

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

    17

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

    18

He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

    Hi David,

If I may, I have heard other people say what you are saying and they feel there was a gap between Gen. 1:1 and Gen.1:2, if I understand correctly what you are saying, forgive me if I am wrong. If we use Revelation 12 for this event we have to say Satan does not have access to heaven to accuse us day and night. We see in Job 1:6 and Job 2:1 Satan has access to heaven and God, also he is the great accuser he accuses us before God day and night.

In Revelation 12:8 when he is cast down to earth there will be no place found any more in heaven. This will be permanent, they are rejoicing in heaven and we are warned of how bad this will be on earth, Revelation 12:12. In the Greek text, at the end of Revelation 12, Satan is the one standing on the sand when the beast in Revelation 13 rises out of the sea (bottomless pit)

I also believe people were before Adam and Eve, but another understanding. I believe the six days of creation were exactly the way it is written. Six 24 hour days and God said it was good at the end of each day, without any gaps, no evolution, and then the seventh day God rested from his work and blessed the seventh day.

I hope you take this in love, for you to look and study not as a debate.

    God bless,

Your explanation that states "We obviously can't achieve perfection in this life but we can strive for these characteristics."

(Reference: 2 Corinthians 13:11) is not what I understand to be the case. According to the following references, man can be perfect; not in his own strength but in Jesus Christ: Deut 18:13, 1Kngs 8:61, Job 1:1 & 2:3, Ps 37:37 & 138:8. Prv 2:21 & 11:5, Lk 6:40, Jhn 17:23, Eph 4:13, Col 1:28 and Jas 3:2

    Perhaps my understanding is lacking.
  • Sheila Davis - In Reply - 2 years ago
That is a question that has been asked for ages. Some feel that the devil knows your thoughts, while most others don't.

Scripture does not give a definite answer on that subject but scripture does indicate that not only the devil but some angelic beings have access to one's mind _ Acts 5:3 Satan filled the heart of Ananias _ Luke 22:3 Satan entered Judas _ Matthew 1:20 -25 an angel came to Joseph in a dream _ Genesis 31:11 an angel of the Lord spoke to Jacob in a dream. One can argue that to have access to one's mine doesn't mean they can read your thoughts.

    And there are these scriptures

Job 1:7-12 Satan before God discusses Job and the amount of access he can have to Just.

Ephesians 6:11-16 discusses to put on the whole armor of God and to *quench* the fiery darts of Satan.

James 4:7 tells us to *resist* the devil and *he will flee*.

1st Peter 5:8 tells us Satan is like a roaring lion *seeking* whom he can *devour.*

Revelation 12:10-12 the devil stands before God day and night accusing man, and woe to the inhabitants of the earth the devil has come down.

Scripture is clear - Jesus knew one's thoughts even while in a flesh body Matthew 9:4. To Jesus the spirit was given to him without measure John 3:34.

I believe Satan and certain angels have the ability to read some of someone's thoughts and Satan, being the accuser is allowed to influence those thoughts. I feel Satan and the angelic beings who have access to any thoughts of the minds/hearts of mankind are given a limited measure, unlike God who has full measure. Example what I'm going to eat for breakfast or what type of clothes I'm going to wear any given day isn't something they would need access to or even care about. But the part of the mind our decisions are made against good or for what we know is right, Satan knows our thoughts.
  • Chris - In Reply on Job 1 - 2 years ago
Neither Jude 1:6 nor 2 Peter 2:4 tell us how many angels followed Satan in his rebellion, Prasanth. Some Bible students might use Revelation 12:3,4 referring to Satan taking with him one third of the angelic host with him, but the narrative is too vague in my opinion & Revelation itself is not always in sequential order.

So, I cannot vouch with any certainty about the number of angels but my sense is that it would have been a great company of them, not just a dozen or so. And then of course, if the fallen angels were kept in everlasting chains awaiting Judgement Day, does the demonic activity of old & present days, represent the spirits of those angels? It's hard to have certainty & form conclusions.

    Sir,

I need one more clarification , Jude 1:6 says it was chained and locked untill the judement day. I just want to know howmany highrank angels are fallen from the kingdom of heaven and trouble to our mankind.

  • Chris - In Reply on Job 1 - 2 years ago
Hello Prasanth. The question you ask is a valid one & because the Scriptures are not entirely clear on all the events pertaining to Satan's origin & despatch, we can only formulate an opinion based on what the Scriptures do reveal. Therefore, we can get many opinions on this, even yours could be valid. So, as you've asked the question, let me give you my understanding using a timeline.

    a. When God created all things in Heaven (He Himself being un-created), all heavenly beings, etc. were created in eternity past. This was before the creation of the worlds, of man & of other things for the Earth. In Heaven, God created beings such as cherubs, seraphs, beasts, etc., which all had a particular function before God & which constantly worshipped Him ( Ezekiel 10:1-22; Isaiah 6:1-8).

    b. One cherub, which was "perfect in thy ways from the day thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee" ( Ezekiel 28:15), is reference to the one the Bible calls, Lucifer ( Isaiah 14:12). Although, the Ezekiel reference is directly to the King of Tyrus, the wording suggests that the spirit within the king is being addressed & described. Lucifer desired to sit in God's place ( Isaiah 14:12-14), therefore he was cast out of Heaven onto the Earth.

    c. And Lucifer, also called Satan (in Book of Job), was there in readiness to deform God's perfect creation (man & woman) in the Garden of Eden, that they too might become like him, filled with evil & opposing God & all that is righteous & holy ( Genesis 3:1-19).

    d. Though Satan was cast to the Earth, he still has access to Heaven, even as he presented himself to God with the other angels ( Job 1:6,7) to accuse Job (even as he does us: Revelation 12:10). Satan is not chained or confined to Hell now - he roams freely to deceive the nations ( Revelation 20:3) & will make his final thrust through the coming Anti-Christ, the personification of Satan, just as King Tyrus was. But he will one day be locked up for good ( Revelation 20:7-10).

Job 1:6 - Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.

Isaiah 14:12-15 - How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

Ezekiel 28:14 - Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Ezekiel 28:15 - Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.

Ezekiel 28:16 - By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.

Luke 10:18 - And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

Revelation 12:9 - And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

John 8:44 - Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

    Hebrews 2:14 - Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of DEATH, that is, the devil;

LEGALLY, because Jesus (2nd Adam) WON back the Authority FROM SATAN that First Adam lost in the Garden of Eden.

Jesus, by the Holy Spirit, was conceived becoming the SON OF MAN. All God, all HUMAN.

Satan and Demons are NOT HUMAN. They borrow bodies: dogs, frogs and witches who lend their bodies.
