Discuss Job 22

Jo.1:1-In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with GOD,the Word was GOD.

The Word of GOD is from everlasting to everlasting, the Word is GOD, GOD Himself,self-executing.

    Job 22:

15Hast thou marked the old way(century/es before)which wicked men have trodden?

16Which were cut down out of time, whose foundation was overflown with a FLOOD:

17Which said unto GOD,Depart from us:and what can the Almighty do for them?

18Yet He filled their houses with good things:but the counsel of the wicked is far from me.

19The righteous see it, and are glad: and the innocent laugh them to scorn.

20Whereas our substance is not cut down, but the remnant of them the fire consumeth.

21Acquaint now thyself with Him,and be at peace:thereby good shall come unto thee.

22Receive,I pray thee, the law from his mouth(GOD's Word),and lay up his words in thine heart.

23If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up,thou shalt put away iniquity far from thy tabernacles.

24Then shalt thou lay up gold as dust( Genesis 2:10-11 ),and the gold of Ophir as the stones of the brooks.

25Yea,the Almighty shall be thy defence, and thou shalt have plenty of silver.

26For then shalt thou have thy delight in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face unto God.

27Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him,and he shall hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows.

28Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee:and the light shall shine upon thy ways

29When men are cast down, then thou shalt say,There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person

30He shall deliver the island of the innocent:and it is delivered by the pureness of thine hands.

    Eze.14

13Son of man, when the land sinneth against me by committing a trespass, then will I stretch out mine hand upon it,and will break the staff of the bread thereof, and will send famine upon it,and I will destroy man and beast forth of it

14Though these three men Noah,Daniel, and Job were among them, they should deliver but their own souls by their righteousnes

Like many times, in our current world: when things go as it's supposed to, not much is mentioned but when it's going wrong, much more said. There was much wrong mentioned about wrongly leaving out Widows, Fatherless children, etc. Matthew 23:14, Mark 12:40, Luke 20:47, Job 22:9, Acts 6:1, Isaiah 10:2 please read in context, by reading all verses around the verses given, so you have the "whole story". They also were judged because of that * Malachi 2:17, Malachi 3:5, Deuteronomy 27:19

    1Timothy 5, 1Corinthians 7, Deuteronomy 24:17,

I believe the Rules/Laws GOD gave forth to Moses for the Israelites was the ideal plan. These rules weren't not for "the rebellious nations, surrounding" probably because they may just disregard anyway.

I believe it's good if we look into the Laws & consider sincerely what we can apply today. Deuteronomy 14:29, Deuteronomy 16, we should share in our increase ( abundance ) Deuteronomy 24:19,20,21, elimination of greed, in every area

    Deuteronomy 10:18,

    James 1:27 , Matthew 25:35-41, Deuteronomy 26:13,14,

  • PROVERBS 3:15 Meaning from BibleRef website - In Reply on Job 22 - 2 years ago
In this verse Solomon continues to describe the value of wisdom. This continues the poetic representation of wisdom as a woman ( Proverbs 1:20; 3:14). He says wisdom is more precious than jewels, and nothing anyone might desire can compare with wisdom. Proverbs uses the term wisdom in reference to something more than mere intelligence, or knowledge. Biblical wisdom is the ability to apply knowledge in a godly way. That capacity to follow God's will is incredibly valuable-more so than any material possession ever would be.

The Hebrew word translated "jewels" in the ESV is pe'niy'yim, which more or less means "pearls," but can also be applied to all kinds of precious gems. As of this writing, an emerald-and-diamond ring associated with the Rockefeller family carries an estimated value of $5.5 million in United States dollars. A stone known as the Oppenheimer Blue diamond carries a value more than $57.5 million, and the famous Hope Diamond is estimated to be worth $250 million. Nevertheless, none of these gems are as valuable as wisdom.

Furthermore, this Scripture affirms that nothing a person can desire can compare with wisdom. That includes all possessions, accolades, and luxuries. A person may desire fame or fortune, but wisdom is far better. Even ownership of the world's highest priced mansion, automobile, yacht, or private jet cannot compare with the value of wisdom. A truly wise person can enjoy fellowship with God now and forever as well as eternal rewards, whereas a worldly-wise person without God may surround himself with luxuries, but he has nothing of ETERNAL value.

    Love you in Christ Jesus!

    Dear Sharol.

In Hebrew the word/noun Wisdom (chkme, chokhmah) is of feminine gender. Same in Greek (grk Sophia).

In Proverbs 3.15 it speaks of wisdom as a she/her, why is that?

Genesis 1:16 Just refering to God making lights in the firmament of heaven, not a word about space

1 Cor 15:14 Nothing to do with space

Genesis 2:4 Not related at all

    Psalms 115:16

16The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD'S: but the earth hath he given to the children of men.

"the lack of breathable atmosphere, radiation, medical complications?"

What? Scripture is not for private interpretation.

None of the rest of the verses have at all any implication of space, please point me the exact words or phrase, where the existence of space is even remotely implied. I will point you to exact words where space is outright denied, in a second.

But some of the verses you provided actually hint at the solid nature of heavens.

    Isaiah 40:

"Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?"

First of all, not a word about other planets, second "meted out heaven with the span". It's impossible to measure something with a span that is not solid.

Job 22:12 Is not God in the height of heaven? and behold the height of the stars, how high they are!

Space has no height, it stretches in all directions, solid heavens have height.

Joel 2:10 The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble

How something not solid can tremble?

Now I assure you, there's plenty of scripture that directly states, that the earth is flat, unmovable, and there's no space or other planets, but I would like you to debunk first this one please:

Gen 1:6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.

8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

    Where are the waters above?

Job 22:14, God walks on the circuit of Heaven. The heaven has a circuit which contains the sun, moon, and stars. They all move circuiting around the star "Polaris."

Job is being accused of some hidden sin and is being admonished to repent. Only
God knows the heart of man. Let us therefore hold on to our faith in Him when the accuser comes to cause us to doubt. ( 1 Peter 5:8-10).

I asked the Lord for a word, and he sent this! I am in this exact position, accused of doing and thinking evil! I was horrified that anyone could think so of me, but when I see Job, the righteous man of God in the same position, I am comforted. I am not more important than he, or indeed than our Lord and Saviour, whom was falsely accused. To God be the glory, I crave His strength and wait on Him!

This message could not have come at a better time in my life. No more than about 30 minutes ago. In so many words, I said the same thing to my husband because there is so much negative energy in my circle, I had beckoned to using their negative energy spirit. Then I realized this morning, how God has been encircling with positive energy by allowing his angels to share with me how I have allowed them to use me and feed off of their energy, instead of God's energy. I have said things I have never said and acted in a way that was very inappropriate. I just thank love God our Lord Jesus Christ so much whereas I now feel His spirit again and have decided to acquaint myself again with God so that I can be at peace and achieve God's blessings as I do his will.

Yes, Saved. Our LORD was crucified and shed His blood for our sins but woe unto those who DENY the LOVE of the TRUTH! Job 22:29 When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up and he shall save the humble person. Psalms 7:10 My defence is of God, which saveth the upright in heart. 17:7 Shew thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them which put their trust in thee from those that rise up against them. 18:3 I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies. 18:27 For thou wilt save the afflicted people but wilt bring down high looks. 20:6 Now know I that the LORD saveth his anointed he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand. 20:9 Save, LORD: let the king hear us when we call. 28:9 Save thy people, and bless thine inheritance: feed them also, and lift them up for ever.
